This is a rough translation of a Polish report which links Juanma Ortiz to Lech Poznan, but also says that Rangers could move for Lech Poznan's Bonian midfielder Stilicia Semir who is available for free this Summer.....
"Juanma Ortiz can move to Lech Poznan"
Lech Poznan have so far not brought any players in the winter transfer window. As reported it is possible that the Polish club may move for one of the players of Rangers - 29-year-old midfielder Juanma Ortiz.
The 29-year-old Spaniard is one of the players who in the winter window may leave the team champions of Scotland. As reported by the newspaper, Ortiz has two solutions - either return to his homeland or move to Lech, where the coach is his fellow countryman, Jose Mari Bakero.
Ortiz was signed by Glasgow Rangers in the summer of 2011 from UD Almeria. He has signed a three-year contract with the scottish football club, but it is almost certain that it did not fill. In the current season so far he has played in fourteen matches, but for some time Ally McCoist rarely uses the player. The last time the Spaniard played was on January 14, when he entered the last nine minutes of the match with St. Johnstone FC.
The midfielder began his professional career at Atletico Madrid. With this club he was loaned to Osasuna Pamplona and Poli Ejido. In 2007, for four years he went to Almeria.
In December, the Bosnian media was linking Stilicia Semir to Glasgow Rangers. The player’s contract expires in the Summer and he could sign a contract with the Scottish club that would have applied in the new season.

Rangers have appointed a Glasgow based agent with a mandate to sell Jelavic....Question is why are the club paying a third party to flog him when Gordon Smith should be more than capable of doing this? Either way Jelavic will be gone by the end of this window! I just hope that we manage to get someone half decent in the door.....Boyd would surely be good move!
Believable5
Unbelievable13
Don't call me surely
Agree6

This is pure fabrication. Why would they hire an agent when they could do it themselves. The only agent who can have a "mandate" to sell Jelavic is his own agent.
TTG
Agree2

Rangers have hired an agent to pimp Jelavic around any club that can afford him. Its well documented I'm afraid.
Agree2
Disagree3
It's well documented by whom? The only place I have seen it documented is on these forums by Celtic fans.
If Rangers needed an agent to tout Jelavic they would just ask his his dad or do it themselves by offering Jelavic to the other clubs. Why would hire an agent.
You Celtic fans do come out with some amount of whoppers!!

I'm glad that a stupid daily rag backed me up on this! I will even go as far to say that it's Kenny Moyes (David Moyes Brother) who has the mandate to flog him! My point was that the club shouldn't need to give an outside agent a mandate to flog our player! It should be our so called Director of Football who should be handling this! More money wasted....btw any agent can be given a mandate to promote players availability! Happens all the time!

Let's face facts, if we sell jelavic and bring in no one or some crap, old, slow and cheapy-bargain-basement type player then we may as well give the league to Celtic there and then. If we do sell jelavic for 7.5m, say, then at least 4m needs to be reinvested in a attacking mid and a good striker. That bruins on a free perhaps and someone like that guerra or, unlikely though, Rhodes.

Got to love celtic fans coming on a rangers rumour site saying we'll get nowhere near 7m for jelavic. But there star striker is worth the same as andy carroll. Is this the same star striker that actually scored less goals than jelavic in the spl this season? And before they start, with how many pens has he scored. They still count as goals.
Big sqaash.

No i dont think hooper is worth £7m but hell be worth what someone wants to pay for him, which could be £7m, but im not saying jelavic isnt worth £7m im just saying that all these other clubs know what rangers position regarding finance is and wont pay what they are looking for, only in my opinion, but if he was so in demand why has no one bid the money rangers are looking for him (£10m) as of 26th January? would think that hell be sold very close to deadline day and for £6m tops

So many rumours out there here is another tax deal settled for £15m and another waiting on the side lines to take over from Whyte might only be a rumour but the best I have heard in a long time. After all did not cost him much and as a VC will sell to the highest offer

First of all Craig Whyte himself has stated that HMRC are not willing to settle so thats a lie. Secondly, there is absolutley no point i any1 speculating or passing on rumours about the tax case because its a completley private matter. Only Rangers lawyers and HMRC know how strong their cases are. Wewill all find out end of Feb/start of March. End of story.

Good post drew, due to the fact that nobody knows what rangers defence is and they must have a tangible argument as its went on and on.. There also could be numerous cases in the big case, for example rangers may successfully defend themselves against some of the use of EBT's. Who knows, long few weeks ahead!

Rangers lawyers have nothing to do with the tax case (its MIH lawyers that are doing it all)craig whyte can only sit back and hope for the best. Also see the scottish press have west ham bidding £7.2m while their english counterparts have the bid at £5m.I cant see us selling for that remember the players cut, agent fee, tax, the sell on fee and hopefully ally getting some for a replacment not much left for mr whyte

If I was an Aberdeen fan I would be absolutely disgraced with my club, constantly living off past glories and the very very distant memories where they were once able to compete with some of the top of the table, and now they are relegation fodder almost every year, and the only time they even make an appearance is the two games against Rangers. If my team showed that much effort only twice a season I would be ashamed of them!..........but then again, this is the sheepsha**ers we're talking about here

Unfortunatley for you I am old enough to remember Aberdeens glory years...I also remember how pi** poor you lot were...coming 4th or 5th every year in the league. Given the current state of affairs and the below average trialists that your all getting excited about it wont be long before 4th will be a good result for you. Stop believing that will you...even if you do believe it we will have fun finding out soon enough. I'm happy to go down the bookies and put my house on there still being an SPL if Rangers go bust and end up in Div 3...The Celtic need us argument is wishful thinking...they are the bigger club financially and without european football for you for the next 3 years and a huge wage bill expect the quality of player at Rangers to decline rapidly. Expect Celtics bank balance to improve dramatically with the CL money they will now get. You are going to struggle to stop Celtic doing 10 in a row.....theres the fuse lit!

West Ham did not bid for Jelavic.
The Daily Mail’s Head of Sport, Lee Clayton, posted on his twitter account tonight that: “The story about West Ham and Jelavic of Rangers is NOT true, I’m told. No bid. Sam doesn’t value him that highly”.
What is happening here? Is Whyte trying to use West Ham to get a bid in excess of £7m. Sounds like it and how embarassing. No-one in their right mind would want to deal with Rangers.

Agree5

West ham have confirmed the bid on web site, however I do agree that any chairman or director of football at clubs would like to avoid doing business with Rangers, we are very quickly becoming a laughing stock not just to celtic but to football men all over Europe, the way we have conducted our business this transfer window and the previous one has been nothing but disgraceful, Craig Whyte and Gorden Smith should be ashamed for dragging our proud club down to this level! Whatever these charlatans do we should remember that Ally Mccoist is a true Rangers man and will do his best for us inspite

Been on the west hame website , cant see anything ... link ?

WHAT IS GOING ON! Someone please explain. Was there a bit, how much, what is the actual cash in hand value, was Frédéric Piquionne part of deal, are West ham still interested. I ask because i've heard contrasting answers to each of these questions.
Agree2
Disagree0
It's very simple..lee clayton originally posted that there was no bid, the story was untrue. He then posted that he had misunderstood his contact and there was a bid of £5m plus add ons...he went on to post that the deal is now dead as big Sam does not value him as highly as Rangers....Don't shoot the messenger..that's what's on his twitter account.

Rangers are holding out til last day of transfer market to sell jelavic. This is C.W plan so he can say we didnt have enough time to bring a replacement in. Then hit us with the crap aw but we have a war chest for next season. A feel sory for mcoist

25 Jan 2012 20:04:36
Think of it this way the Jelavic sale could go 5 ways
1. We sell him for cut price, see a small amount of the money up front and manage to buy some new players.
2.We sell him for cut price and don't get anyone in because we have nothing in the bank
3.We hold out for longer and try to get more money, get an improved offer and get some new players but with less time to do so
4.We hold out for longer, keep him as it is too late and try to win the league with what we've got(with Lafferty and Whitts back later)
5.We keep Jela and get a 1 or 2 players on loan with the Weir Fleck wages (ideally)
We have to think of it this way, the Jela money will not pay of the tax debt even if Whyte gets money for Jela we don't know how much goes to Ally and whatever happens we will keep supporting the Gers but we want to know what is going to happen and not have to wait untill February 1st to find out!
Believable11
Unbelievable1
The Jelavic money will go to providing cashflow for Ranger's day to day business expenses until May.
Agree6
Disagree2
You're also forgetting about the money tied up in Ortiz, Bedoya and McKay, who are not going to feature and who Ally signed (we think) Whyte would be entitled to tell Ally 'move those 3'' or no signings......that is if Ally 'did' sign them....McKay cant even feature against Arbroath or take yesterday....not selected in a BOUNCE game.
Agree6
Disagree0
If we actually had any sense we would not be touting Jelavic to anybody and everybody as in a few months time he shall be on th Euros 2012 stage. If he's half as good as most believe, 2or 3 good performances there shoukd justify CW/ RFC's £10M valuation which right now...playing in the backwater which is the SPL...seems excessive!

Yes, the same Jelavic who has 2 international goals in 17 internationals. The same Jelavic who has 2 more international goals and 17 more international appearances than Hooper. Also, as it stands 2 more SPL goals than any other teams top goalscorer. Your point is?
Agree3
Disagree2
Dtp89....Chelsea and Rangers fan here. You sound pathetic mate, jelavic is a sub for Croatia and look who Hooper is up against for an England spot?Jelavic would never even get a cap for England but Hooper will when he comes down here. You lot up there can be very sad at times.rise above it and show some pride instead of making an ass of yourself by trying to justify that Jelavic is not rated in England anywhere near as high as Hooper. That is a cold hard fact, anyone who know 5hit about football will tell you that. The press, scouts and press all talk about Hooper, championship clubs talk about Jelavic. Can you imagine him at Chelsea, he wouldn't get the bench.Grow some nuts mate.
Agree4

Gary Hooper is irrelevant to this argument. The argument is whether Jelavic will be worth more money after Euro 12.
Dtp89 you really need to grow up a bit.
Agree3
Disagree4
The number of caps Gary Hooper has or hasn't got and the number of goals he has scored is totally irrelevant as to how much Jelavic will be worth after Euro 2012.

Rangers and Chelsea fan. jelavic would score more goals than torres. how about a swap deal

The same Gary Hooper that was named in the initial 40 man squad for england u21 last year that didn't make the cut cos he want good enough. Hate to tell u mate, doesn't matter which league u play in, or how big ur country selection/competition is .... If ur good enough you will be there! It's all relative mate. Look at the previous posts. That wasn't the point being made. Jay

You say look at who Hooper is competing against for an England place well lets have a look
Defoe - rubbish imo
Carroll - bigger flop than Franny Jeffers
Zamora - not consistent
Owen - past it
Crouch - never had it
I cant think of any other contenders ... the only really good ones are Rooney,Bent and Stuzza. so its not as if he is up against 7 or 8 world class strikers for a spot but this is just my opinion.

I find it strange no paper or TV journalist has gone digging there as a degree of information can e easily found on Companies House that shows Whyte is a Director but NOT a shareholder. So legally the shareholder is the individual who actually owns Rangers!

Super Ally should be given support from every Rangers fan, he is just in the job, working under the hardest circumstances (which are nothing to do with him or Mr Whyte) in our Club's recent history. Give them both a chance, we cant spend any large amounts untill the HMRC case is settled, if we did and could not pay a much reduced figure to HMRC would mean certain administration for our Great Club. I dont want to see that happen, do you? We are all being scared sh11less by much inflated figures being leaked by HMRC, which I find hard to believe. Im no tycoon but dont you think HMRC would rather settle for say £10 million, than receive 1% to 10% of the suppose 49 million they say we owe them? Which brings me to ask, who is actually liable for the HMRC money, as far as I have read these payments were made through MIH, so it may be the case taht they as the parent company are liable for all of some of the monies owed to HMRC.

The English Championship leaders have been in negotiations with the Ibrox club for more than a week.

"The 34-year-old admitted earlier this month that he was facing an uncertain future.
Davies has slipped down the pecking order this season and is now spending much of his time on the bench, which has alerted other clubs to his possible availability.
......that Sunderland, Wolves, West Brom are all monitoring his situation whilst Old Firm duo Celtic and Rangers are also keen...........
But whilst Bolton would consider selling him this month, it is not believed that they would entertain a loan deal - which most of the clubs interested would seem to prefer." If accurate, think we would only be looking at a loan deal.

Not posted in a while but have been keeping myself updated with everything. I see Jelavic may go for £7.2m but I read that VAT has to be paid on this of £1.2m, also despite denials, Rangers still owe Rapid £1m so I make that Rangers get £5m, now as Jelavic never asked for transfer he is due a loyalty bonus, plus there is agents fees to be paid so that could take another £1m+ off leaving £4m for Whyte to run club with and pay day to day expenses plus all players wages. Crucial point is Ally will never see a penny of this for new players. Whyte is just using Ally as a patsy. Neil T

Agree with above. You just can't sell players if they don't want to go.they'll almost certainly want better wages than what they're on,and a pay off for leaving will be demanded(remember Beattie,£1m,was reported).Balde sat in Celtics stand rather than go because they refused to pay up his contract.Basic rule of thumb,The players you want to keep are the players other clubs want, and the ones you want rid off, nobady wants, for the same reason you want rid of them.I.E. they're not good enough.

Does not really matter who is buying these guys. Fact of the matter is this season we have filled our squad with mediocre squad players.

Sell Broadfoot and Ortiz that should help to get Jaager but they should also see if there are any other players out there without clubs maybe one or two more

Maybe he felt an apology was due to ally with regards to the state he left our club in. You can say what you want about CW but ultimatly it's not his mess...It's murrays and now Ally is left to work under major restrictions.

Yes, but Whyte has made promises he has failed to keep - £5m + £10m if required by Ally.

But has whyte clearly stated tha he doesn't have the money? he is a businessman who in mind doesn't want to spend or pump tonnes of money into a team (that he loves btw) that could go into administration which he knows could makexhim lose money that he would have spent, see if he really didn't have money then, ibrox would be in a worse state repair wise and the fact we wouldn't have had, mcgregor, davis, whittaker and edu etc signing contract extensions, listen to be fair guys nobody knows f all and stop postin commentsas if you know everything that's happenin inside rangers, give it a bye eh, nobody will know anythin until this TAX CASE is over so just concentrate on TRANSFER rumours which this page is for in the 1st place. do appologise if i offended anybody. Sir David at Murray park yesterday watched the game against carlisle. Rumours that he had an appointment with the club doctor. Is this his return to clean up his mess of Rangers??
Believable2
Unbelievable6
He still owns murray park so imagine he can come and go when he likes.also keeps him as a major creditor if we lose the tax case. along with whyte who owns the 99 year lease on ibrox and the players contracts, along with being director of rangers holdings who rangers owe 22 million having sir david murray as the next major creditor if the club are forced into administration cant be a bad thing id imagine, remember it took quite a while for sir david and whyte to do due dilligence, haha.

Ally is doing the best with what he has. Our scouting system must be a laughing stock by now. We should be scouting Africa and South America, some amazing talent out there and there are all real athletes. Surely we can bargain buy decent players from these regions ???
Believable7

Agree with the above post 100%. Ally is doing the best with what he has. So sick and tired of people on this page saying Ally needs to go, I would be willing to bet that these same people were not saying this earlier in the season when we were winning constantly. I call you fair weather fans and your exactly whats wrong with a large section of the ibrox crowd right now, only cheer when we are winning. Its when the teams form drops that they need the full backing of the fans the most and all you do is moan. FAIR WEATHER FANS ARE NOT NEEDED.

Great thinking! Lets scout players from countries that need work permits.
And yes he's doing his best with what he's got, but what Ally's got is a hell of a lot more than 10 other managers in the SPL. So maybe his best isn't good enough. I don't mind dropping points in the persuit of playing good passing football, but we don't even try to do that.

Hi, I totally agree, we have to cut our cloth. Ask yourself this, who in their right mind would extend credit to our great club at the moment, not many. Sir David Murray was one of the best Chairmen we have had early in his tennure, but make no mistake this is HIS legacy. Mr Whyte was the only man who was willing to ATTEMPT to clear Murray's mess!
Its sickening to remember Murray's boasts of every £5 they spend we will spend £10. The mans ego is fairly comming back to haunt our wonderful Club now, actions speak louder than words Sir David. Mr Murray was only too happy to hold court in the media in those days, what has he said on the state he has left our Club in...........absolutely nothing, changed days Mr Murray!
Agree3

If we unearth talent in South America or Africa there are ways around work permits.
Its all down to being run by a FOOTBALLING MAN. Look at the talent Celtic have brung in in the last few years from China etc, equally hard to get a visa/work permit from but they are signing youngsters on the loophole of they are of exceptional talent. These are the rules we should be bending to bring quality just like they are.

and just to clarify I DON'T either so nobody has the right to jump on anybody's back! whyte maybe a d**k in your eyes but he has shown interest to his boyhood heroes when nobody else was! so in otherwords he CARED! this is a different ball game for him, aye fair enough he's an asset stripper but he wouldn't do it to rangers ‘well i hope not lol‘ anythin could happen so back him and the rest of this proud football team, as i posted before he might just be sayin we don't have money for a reason which could be pointless spending with a tax case looming which could result in him losing money etc etc Blame david murray for this mess! if he is a true bear then tell me this if rangers get hit with the tax bill will he be willing to help rangers out? Anybody? Watp

Whyte is a venture capitalist who is here to stabilize rangers and make them a more appealing proposition for someone else.obviously making money in the process.anyone who had visions of a big investment in the team needs their head read.he has spent what he had to to try keep up appearances and try keep the club running to a certain level.with all the money Celtic have spent I can say quite easily that on our day we have no worries.get behind the team, especially now when we are on a bad run.this is when supporters really count.
Agree2

If Whyte wanted to make money, why would he invest in a Scottish Football team? He's already funded a large turnover in staff on a budget that is unknown until the tax case is resolved - what more do you want?

He bought the club for a penny,we have sold boogie, miller, got weir and fleck off the wage bill amongst several youth players loaned out/released,he did renew contracts for mcgregor, whittaker, davis and papac.he has spent money on ibrox but at the same time mortgaged the catering facilities at ibrox.I would never at any time diss whyte for how he has been as he is clearly working hard to fight this tax case, until such times the outcome is known we will continue to penny pinch,he has to remain tight lipped regarding a lot of things im sure for the benefit of the tax case even tho the fans are demanding answers but he did say to judge him when the tax case is over. .he has backed us to a certain level in the transfer market but like i said it would probably even itself out with freed up wages with other departures.I for one will continue to defend the job the guy is trying to do as he took this on when most wouldnt touch it.regardless of whether we win or lose the tax case he will make a profit(he is the next major creditor to rangers so holds a very strong hand in the negociations if hmrc win the case,.so yes i think he may be a supporter of some description but will make money from this.

I don't think hes particularly great but he could probably do a job in SPL

Carlton Cole aint gonna be used as part of any transfer, especially to us, he is getting a good wage at West Ham and he is out of contract at the end of the season so he can shop around and find a Bosman transfer, Turkish clubs sniffing around and I am pretty sure he will get paid a pretty penny there, as for him being worth 10-12 million? If thats the case then Jelavic is worth 25, cole has only scored something like 50-60 goals in his career and has been a pro for 10 years! In otherwords he is s***e!

Carlton cole was being watched by premiership clubs and west ham rejected bids of around 4 million in the summer for him so i doubt they would give us him plus 5 million for jelavic.
