McPake has been impressing at all levels but just can't quite make the breakthrough to the first team. It's a shame because players like him and Middleton would have benefited from the game time we gave Ojo last season. Hopefully McPake, Kelly, Mayo and the other boys come back next season ready to push for first team football. Hood luck to the boys.

I think Mcpake may not be good enough but have hopes for mayo. Maxwell seems a good young left back perhaps future back up to Bassey once bb is sold next summer.

12 months ago I was sure Mcpake was going to be good enough and could make the breakthrough with us. He struggled whilst on loan at Dundee however. Really hope he can turn things around.

@John25, Harry Kane sat on the bench at Leicester at 19/ 20. I wouldn't write McPake off just yet, what I would like is to see SG actually back our academy every now and again. This is year 3 and not one player has broken through. You can't tell me there isn't a better young prospect in our academy than Joe Worrall, Ejaria, Ojo, Sadiq, Grezda etc. I'm really disappointed with the lack of player development under the manager.

Mcpake had just turned 18 when he went out on loan last year. He has a long time still to break into the side.

As for how often and for how long I've watched the youth players at Rangers I would say as often as any other fan can really. Its hard to make any judgement without seeing them play first team football and that was my point. We have given other clubs players more first team opportunities than our own academy players.

How often, not the same as everyone else do u attend games involving academy on regular basis.
Also how often when we r not playing midweek or Saturday do you go to academy game or go and watch a loan player say Morton stmirren dunferetc
No I don’t fancy a player that can’t get off bench a Dundee, or thistle, Morton east Stirling Cambridge.
Some need to be allowed to develop and grow.
As for mcpake won’t play 20 games for our first team unfortunately.

You are missing the point here, I have said I am disappointed that our academy players aren't getting a chance when we have gave valuable game time to players such as Joe Worral, Ejaria and Ojo over the last few seasons. Are you telling me, with your superior knowledge of our academy players, that none of our boys are better than these 3 players I have mentioned?

J1985. Yes I am. That’s why tha academy was puiied apart and so many left.
I’m fortunate I don’t work and have seen multiple academy games. Imo we had multiple players who r very poor.
Can u tell me academy players we have let go that would get in first team as we go for 55
I thought Kelly would but can’t get a start at Ross county.
