The thing that Gerrard will bring to the gers is professionalism. I say that because he has come through one of the best academy in the country and has worked under some excellent managers and he is a winner who has played under Brenda so know how he plays.

I’m sure that it would not only be Gerrard discussing things like the transfer budget available. I’m sure whoever he was to have as part of his management team would have had a say in the sort of funds they will expect to have available.

Luis Enrique, Zidane, van Bronckhorst all came through youth and look what they have done. Some people are just never happy. Aye Steve Clarke has done a job at Killie and a great one at that but do we really want to play that kind of football? Cause I don’t.

I think stevie g could bring in good players not just older ones but young out of contract stars in England's would love to come up and play for SG. he's no experience managing but it's football and he's lived and breathed it his whole life at the highest level. And would command instant respect

1st of all Torres is still decent but not a world beater by any means. He’s been stuck on 99 La Kings goals for most of this season and plays (usually from bench) for Atletico every week. Just because our league is easier it doesn’t mean he would score barrowloads as he’s lost his turn of pace and composure in front of goal.
He’s going to Newcastle as they can afford his £60-80k weekly wages if he leaves but rumours are rife that Barcelona will be getting Griezman so he may decide to stay and fight for place but he won’t be signing for Rangers.

Smodge with Newcastle closing in on a top ten finish in the EPL I can't see him leaving but if Benitez were to leave Newcastle given his performance with a limited budget and with his past glories I'm sure there would be plenty of suitors willing to take him on as head coach/ manager. So I highly doubt he would want to work as a number 2

Hi guys was listening to SSB last night it was put to mark guidi if he thought there was any truth to SG being linked to rangers, he said yeah he thinks Mcallister’s would come in as his no2 as he has connections to rangers (has he? ) and that rangers have been in dialogue with the new manger for the past 2 weeks.

I would rather an experienced manger but everything seems to be pointing to SG being our new manger

Whoever we make as Manager is going to be a gamble, come on! . It was not that long ago we made a former Liverpool great our Manager and although he had unlimited funds and the English game was suffering, he was a massive success! Gerrard was no doubt a world class player who’s attitude to the game was excellent! I reckon he’s worth a punt and maybe with a few bob to spend he could be a success and for once the whole of Europe would look at this appointment with excitement and would encourage investment and sponsorship!

McAllister dad is rangers fan. My dad worked with him. Think he would be a good number 2. I think it's a huge gamble having SG as our manager though. Would like to see someone more experienced in the dug out

I’m not wanting gerrard or maccallister at the club, another youth coach with no experience of managing on the big stage and especially under the pressure of the glasgow fishbowl. He may well have been a world class player means nothing in the world of management I’m afraid. It’s time we got someone that can handle the pressure trying all these untested managers isn’t helping us but slowly putting us back to square one.

Everyone is a gamble but I'm nervous about sg as he would need a lot of funds and would have no c! he what it takes for the Scottish game. And as we have found out we one rate players from smaller teams down south don't cut the mustard . We need a big African no nonsense c. b our defense and the lack of a big striker with heading ability is all we are missing.

Can't say I'm overly excited about SG. Not the person or player, but I feel the inexperienced route is too risky for us at the moment.

However, if it is to be, our DOF alongside an experienced no 2 might just be a decent platform for him.

Right bear is see and hear all options and am with those who think it's a gamble but remember a gamble has 2 sides it ether works and he's a success or he fails and it's Pedro all over again but think of the positives give him a chance am sure one day he would love to manage Liverpool and he nows his managerial cv has to be good to get that job so he will try and make us the team that we should be and he will have better contacts than Pedro did but if it's him let's give him a chance bears

Heard from a decent source (may not be true but wanted peoples thoughts)

Warnock will be announced Monday after the Celtic game, Arfield and Mcgregor to be announced prior to the game

Warnock will look to bring in Ross McCormack, Scott Dann and James McArthur

Windass, Foderingham and Tav to be sold in the summer with the club hoping to get around £7million once all deals done.

Tav? I’d definitely keep Tav, he’s one of our only good players. Not had a composer of a ball like him in a long long time. I remember watchig Smiths teams and thinking to myself ‘I’ve not seen a decent crosser in a Rangers shirt since Niel McCann’ 😂😂

I think Warnock would be a cracking manager for us, can’t see it but I hope it’s true.
