Gerrard 3 year deal. Word on the street.

26 Apr 2018 22:22:25
Word on what street mate! Was told him and his agent left murray park tonight with nothing signed but possibly more talks ongoing!

26 Apr 2018 23:00:36
Are people happy with this or is just me honestly we need a proven experienced manager in

26 Apr 2018 23:06:55
I still don’t think Gerrard will be manager. I don’t think he will get the transfer funds he wants.

{Ed0333's Note - what does Gerrard know about a transfer kitty?

26 Apr 2018 23:55:19
The thing that Gerrard will bring to the gers is professionalism. I say that because he has come through one of the best academy in the country and has worked under some excellent managers and he is a winner who has played under Brenda so know how he plays.

{Ed0333's Note - you want Brenda’s style of football? Be careful what you wish for mate

27 Apr 2018 00:35:00
I’m sure that it would not only be Gerrard discussing things like the transfer budget available. I’m sure whoever he was to have as part of his management team would have had a say in the sort of funds they will expect to have available.

27 Apr 2018 05:28:28
Morning troops well things are on the way new investors will be happpy to come in a Canadian consortium will team up with king don't no if this is 100% accurate but next few weeks will tell

27 Apr 2018 06:21:22
Can someone please tell me who all these ‘experienced’ managers are?

Luis Enrique, Zidane, van Bronckhorst all came through youth and look what they have done. Some people are just never happy. Aye Steve Clarke has done a job at Killie and a great one at that but do we really want to play that kind of football? Cause I don’t.

27 Apr 2018 06:32:51
I think stevie g could bring in good players not just older ones but young out of contract stars in England's would love to come up and play for SG. he's no experience managing but it's football and he's lived and breathed it his whole life at the highest level. And would command instant respect

27 Apr 2018 17:11:23
I've said on other posts mate all these managers walked into a club with solid foundations and a good starting point. A lot different from coming into the turmoil of our club for a firstrip time job

26 Apr 2018 21:53:37
Heart and hand podcast rumours of Alan Hutton signing.

26 Apr 2018 22:57:32
Work colleague also told me this on Tuesday

26 Apr 2018 23:08:06
Don’t you think a new manager might want to sign his own players?

27 Apr 2018 01:47:12
We've already started recruiting for next season.

27 Apr 2018 07:05:52
Looks like the board or perspective manager are wanting a strong experienced squad for next year tae stop that lot then we can start bringing in the youth to keep our title

26 Apr 2018 21:43:01
heard that if Steven Gerrard signs, Fernando Torres could be set to come on a pre contract as he becomes a free agent at the end of the season.

26 Apr 2018 21:54:28
Keep taking what your taking

26 Apr 2018 22:40:27
Are you hearing voices? 😂😂

26 Apr 2018 23:03:16
Why would signing Torres be so outrageous? Remember he and Stevie G are big pals

27 Apr 2018 00:42:12
Blueboy 1976, let me just say that you have heard right regarding Fernando Torres, and wait for it, Harry Wilson on season loan if Gerrard accepts the post, GS will also advise SG, Kloppe will offload Sturridge, Khan can now go, Wilson he feels needs another season loan but will not sell. Source. A very reliable ex Pl.

27 Apr 2018 06:26:59
1st of all Torres is still decent but not a world beater by any means. He’s been stuck on 99 La Kings goals for most of this season and plays (usually from bench) for Atletico every week. Just because our league is easier it doesn’t mean he would score barrowloads as he’s lost his turn of pace and composure in front of goal.
He’s going to Newcastle as they can afford his £60-80k weekly wages if he leaves but rumours are rife that Barcelona will be getting Griezman so he may decide to stay and fight for place but he won’t be signing for Rangers.

26 Apr 2018 20:35:44
Murty to Reading? Is this right?

27 Apr 2018 02:00:43
Anywhere but Ibrox please. The man is toxic now.

26 Apr 2018 19:28:49
Stevie g supposedly at one of with his agent, anyone else check their courses, I'm no guru just reporting what I heard from a great Scottish scout . can anyone confirm or deny?

26 Apr 2018 19:46:05
What?

26 Apr 2018 19:56:57
No getting what you are asking?

26 Apr 2018 20:05:49
If I could make sense of what you said then maybe?

26 Apr 2018 20:06:10
One of supposed to read Ibrox. Lol, sorry fellow bears

26 Apr 2018 20:06:13
What are you talking about?

26 Apr 2018 20:17:47
Eh? What? I'm confused

26 Apr 2018 20:29:00
Think he's trying to say gerrards at ibrox with his agent

26 Apr 2018 20:32:52
He's also away without any deal tho

26 Apr 2018 20:35:26
Sorry lads, I'm on the bevvie in benalmadena, season ticket holder and heard from my good mate that Stevie g at Ibrox just now with agent, apologies to fellow bears for mix up,

26 Apr 2018 20:45:20
Why is everyone so down in fod he's 1 of the top keepers in the country

26 Apr 2018 20:50:08
It's cool mate, enjoy the sesh

26 Apr 2018 20:59:55
Rafa Benitez to come as his numba 2 he's had enough of Newcastle and think would be a good move for him what use think troops

26 Apr 2018 21:02:51
Is Ajd123 on the bevvie with you Loyalist? We have let in 104 goals between all games last season and this season. Not the stats of a great goalkeeper really is it? Works out on average more than a goal every game.

26 Apr 2018 21:05:32
Are you in benalmadena with the loyalist?

26 Apr 2018 21:10:24
Take that beer off smodge please

26 Apr 2018 21:10:34
No matter who comes in as new manager, we'll support you (whoever you are ) evermore.

26 Apr 2018 21:14:23
ASBO let's be fair here wes has had some dross defenders in front of him so he shouldn't take the rap for all goals lost. Think the guy can leave Ibrox with head held high.

26 Apr 2018 21:17:48
Smodge with Newcastle closing in on a top ten finish in the EPL I can't see him leaving but if Benitez were to leave Newcastle given his performance with a limited budget and with his past glories I'm sure there would be plenty of suitors willing to take him on as head coach/ manager. So I highly doubt he would want to work as a number 2

26 Apr 2018 21:22:40
Smodge must be on the bevvy also

26 Apr 2018 21:43:44
And he can get the first flight back down to Liverpool and stay away from us we need a proven manager in there not a rookie

27 Apr 2018 00:18:04
hey loyalist, if you are at the bar, say hello to big jim.

26 Apr 2018 13:14:59
Reports are now saying mcgregor has agreed personal terms with us.

26 Apr 2018 15:32:12
shagger is a better keeper than wes
and age doesn't mean he isnt. I'd prefer hibs keeper to be honest he is the reason hibs are where they are. But still a step up even if it is a step back.

26 Apr 2018 16:07:59
McGregor for a few years and by then we have 2 young and very well thought of keepers in Kelly and McCrorie ready to step up n play. Will get some cash for Fod so it’s a no brainer

26 Apr 2018 18:08:10
Delighted McGregor returning. We need to rebuild from the back and mcgregor is the ideal character to organise the defence.

2 centre backs, 1 midfielder and 1 striker a must now. I would try and go for McKenna, Berra, McGinn and Ross McCormack. However McGinn will likely go to Celtic.

26 Apr 2018 19:40:17
glad to see shagger back a think there will be at least 14 players of when season ends so if use agree or disagree comment so here they are

1 Wes fod
2 cardoso
3 Wallace
4 dalcio
5 kenny miller
6 joe dodoo
7 Eduardo Herrera
8 lee hodson
9 Jordan rossiter
10 alves
11 bates
12 Jason Cummings hope he stays
13 Sean goss
14 Russell Martin
So bears how many do use agree with

26 Apr 2018 19:56:50
Cummings and rossiter will stay halliday will leave imo

26 Apr 2018 20:03:55
Hope Cummings Rossiter Wallace stay I would keep Alves as well I know he has had a rubbish season but he is a class player

26 Apr 2018 20:05:11
I would happily let all them leave. as for Cummings well he is young, always scored for his against us and he has done ok so far on loan.

26 Apr 2018 20:19:06
Wallace Rossiter Alves and Cummings will probably be around next season, but I'm sure Forrester and Halliday won't. Since we know Bates is already away I make that 11 who could leave any time they like. That still leaves a good core of about 18 players to build on. A keeper (Greegs), two centre halfs, a strong midfielder (Arfield) and a striker should be the priorities. I don't believe we're all that far away, but right now the cry was no defenders.

26 Apr 2018 20:25:15
Smodge 81
Think Wes will go back to England if McGregor resigns.
Loanees-Cummings keep, Goss was never staying, Dalcio&Martin send them back.
Give Waldo another chance if he apologises for what he said/ did.
Bates is going, Miller was not getting a new contract anyway. Hodson, Cardoso, Alves, &Herrera can all go. Dodoo&Rossiter are both still young and Jordan in particular can be a great player for us (fitness allowing) so would keep. Keep Holt, Halliday and MOH as squad players. Arfield is on his way, Jack will be fit for the new season. So get 2 decent centre backs and goalscoring striker

26 Apr 2018 20:30:12
Didn't finish before sent my reply accidentally. Planned to say- "added to the other regulars who remain would see us good to go for a proper challenge next season.

26 Apr 2018 23:03:34
Haliday and holt will leave

26 Apr 2018 10:56:23
Hi guys was listening to SSB last night it was put to mark guidi if he thought there was any truth to SG being linked to rangers, he said yeah he thinks Mcallister’s would come in as his no2 as he has connections to rangers (has he? ) and that rangers have been in dialogue with the new manger for the past 2 weeks.

I would rather an experienced manger but everything seems to be pointing to SG being our new manger

26 Apr 2018 11:36:17
Another who’s changed their tune. After listening to that wise old sage Mark Guidi🤪

26 Apr 2018 11:44:05
Everything was pointing to McCinness before Xmas and that never happened. Won't believe anything until they confirm.

26 Apr 2018 11:53:03
Simmer down big marv82

I still don’t want SG as our new manger but I take it u do eh

26 Apr 2018 12:15:24
Marco everything pointed towards Mcinnes because we chose Mcinnes and he turned us down. That’s why it never happened.

26 Apr 2018 12:42:10
Mcinnes rejected us so it was going to happen until he backed out. Clueless

26 Apr 2018 13:07:38
Would prefer a more experienced manager at the helm but Lennon wasn't experienced when he took on the celtic job, like it or not, seems to be a good manager, gets the best from his players

26 Apr 2018 13:17:34
All mcalistair has in connection with rangers is he is a supporter

26 Apr 2018 13:27:46
Whoever we make as Manager is going to be a gamble, come on! . It was not that long ago we made a former Liverpool great our Manager and although he had unlimited funds and the English game was suffering, he was a massive success! Gerrard was no doubt a world class player who’s attitude to the game was excellent! I reckon he’s worth a punt and maybe with a few bob to spend he could be a success and for once the whole of Europe would look at this appointment with excitement and would encourage investment and sponsorship!

26 Apr 2018 13:37:03
Mark Guidi guarenteed on SSB that Michael O'neil becoming the new Scotland Manager was a done deal. If he knows that RFC have been in contact with the "new manager" then surely he would know who it is 100%. Or is he just making another false claim.

26 Apr 2018 14:32:35
McAllister dad is rangers fan. My dad worked with him. Think he would be a good number 2. I think it's a huge gamble having SG as our manager though. Would like to see someone more experienced in the dug out

26 Apr 2018 14:34:31
I’m not wanting gerrard or maccallister at the club, another youth coach with no experience of managing on the big stage and especially under the pressure of the glasgow fishbowl. He may well have been a world class player means nothing in the world of management I’m afraid. It’s time we got someone that can handle the pressure trying all these untested managers isn’t helping us but slowly putting us back to square one.

26 Apr 2018 15:28:22
SG wouldn’t be my first choice but maybe he would be able to tempt a higher standard of player through contacts. It is another huge gamble though. Hopefully he’ll have Klopp on speed dial 😂

26 Apr 2018 15:49:31
Everyone is a gamble but I'm nervous about sg as he would need a lot of funds and would have no c! he what it takes for the Scottish game. And as we have found out we one rate players from smaller teams down south don't cut the mustard . We need a big African no nonsense c. b our defense and the lack of a big striker with heading ability is all we are missing.

26 Apr 2018 16:03:01
That's what I meant bearmode. People where talking as off McCinness deal was done at the time, just like they are with Gerrard. Doesn't mean it will happen though

26 Apr 2018 16:34:06
Can't say I'm overly excited about SG. Not the person or player, but I feel the inexperienced route is too risky for us at the moment.

However, if it is to be, our DOF alongside an experienced no 2 might just be a decent platform for him.

26 Apr 2018 17:17:25
Get him out of retirement and registered as a player as well, walk into our midfield aged 38 or not.

26 Apr 2018 17:47:17
JC yesterday you were having a go at a guy for for posting rumours, and you were adamant that “Warnock won’t be manger and neither will Gerrard! ” but now that your guru Guidi’s telling you the SG stuff is true everything’s pointing to it. I’ll simmer down if you stop having a go at folk posting rumours on a rumours site. As it happens I do want SG now not that what’s I was getting at.

26 Apr 2018 10:36:36
Arfield and Mcgregor have signed 3 and 2 year deals reportedly. Wes away to Forrest or Sheff Wed.

I think Gerrard would be a huge gamble if reports are true. Maybe after Warburton I would of been really happy but look how Pedro turned out! I think at this stage we need a proven manager who has a knack of setting teams up to be hard to beat and also get the best out of average players as we don't have the ready's to go out and buy the players necessary to overtake that lot which is why Steve Clarke or Warnock would be front of the que for me. If we had the luxury of time on our hand then great but to be honest bears I don't think I can take another season of that lot rubbing our faces in it and 10 in a row doesn't even bare thinking about.

26 Apr 2018 11:16:16
I absolutely agree that gerrard is a huge gamble, but it could be either stupidity or genius. Perhaps our youth will start to flourish in the first team next season with gerrard having come through youth himself and currently doing well with liverpools under 18's

26 Apr 2018 12:09:43
BEAR72 - -the quality of the players being looked at with next to no sell on value, would suggest to me that it is definately a British manager we are to expect. i also suggested a day or 2 ago that Wes was in the huff re the Greegs saga and that why we haven't seen him for the last 2 weeks.
A lot of change to come, but same old story, we spent a lot, are getting nothing in return, and won't be able to offload many of these guys as there isn't exactly a queue at our door for them!

26 Apr 2018 13:44:32
We have young McCrorie coming through would much rather he learnt his trade from McGregor than Fod as at least he will learn to come for crosses

26 Apr 2018 14:36:55
Foderingham has been nursing a shoulder injury that's why he hasn't been seen in 2 weeks

26 Apr 2018 18:33:22
Is that why he's not been seen coming for crosses in 3 years? .

26 Apr 2018 09:14:20
Gio and jan wouters leaving Feyenord at end of the season

Coincidence?

26 Apr 2018 09:57:46
Arsenal?

26 Apr 2018 09:58:55
Said that yesterday

26 Apr 2018 10:37:42
Gio would be good move for gers but it all if and butts gio de boer gerrard warnock clarke etc all we can do is wait n see who it is

26 Apr 2018 11:20:28
Right bear is see and hear all options and am with those who think it's a gamble but remember a gamble has 2 sides it ether works and he's a success or he fails and it's Pedro all over again but think of the positives give him a chance am sure one day he would love to manage Liverpool and he nows his managerial cv has to be good to get that job so he will try and make us the team that we should be and he will have better contacts than Pedro did but if it's him let's give him a chance bears

26 Apr 2018 12:10:41
Gio - would not want Arfield etc - he probably hasn't even heard of them!

26 Apr 2018 13:22:55
What about Rino

26 Apr 2018 15:55:48
Would love too but can't afford him

26 Apr 2018 19:06:52
Gio is most likely hoping for arsenal.

26 Apr 2018 00:25:05
Stevie g gathering big rumours bears, some good sources apart from the sun although andy devlin is in the know for us, but few other sources coming out aswell.

26 Apr 2018 05:43:13
We can’t have a rookie manager need to get the next appointment right, wasted years on the last ones.

26 Apr 2018 06:35:49
When are that lot in the board ever going to learn! We can’t be taking major gamble on rookie managers! This has disaster written all over it

26 Apr 2018 07:07:46
I’ve got no problem with it being Gerrard (I don’t think it will be) but if t is he 100% needs a good experienced head with him

26 Apr 2018 07:16:36
Gary mcallister?

26 Apr 2018 07:28:38
If Pedro was our Dr Jo, Stevie G could be our John Barnes. Meaning a few more wilderness years yet.

26 Apr 2018 08:08:36
Gee urselfs a break. Whoever they appoint thts who its going to be doesn't matter 1 jot what we think in all honesty and whether its stevie g or mourinho its all abt the 11 players on the park to do the business. Look at the positives the guy could bring instead of negatives champions league winner played world cups european championships am pretty sure he would knw how tactics work. And links he has to players etc i'm more concerned abt what players we have than what manager as its the players who win n lose the games

26 Apr 2018 08:14:49
Surely the board won’t do this. The guy was a class player and very well might be a class manager in the future. We need a proven manager to come in and stop the manky mob running all over us again next season. As bad as this will sound, murty has more experience we would be aswell sticking with him.

26 Apr 2018 08:26:48
Any possibility we could end up with Warnock as No 1 and Stevie G as No 2?
I’d take that scenario in a heartbeat!

26 Apr 2018 08:45:19
Of course it's a gamble it's one we could do without but what big name experienced manager would take the job not many, Souness came in with no experience in management and look what he did, I think it all depends on the budget who he can bring in if there is no money or very little who would touch the job Celtic are way ahead of us and unless we are challenging new manager will be out the door like the rest but if and it's a huge if we can stop ten in a row a statue would be built for the manager and the team, if nothing else's he must have contacts in the game with Mark Allan's contacts and Gerard's we may see some decent players or maybe just like everything else it's another pie in the sky tumour

26 Apr 2018 08:53:18
Or he could be our new Souness Bruised Bear?

26 Apr 2018 08:58:18
Stevie G was a natural leader on the pitch I think he will go on to be a good manager would like him to sign in some capacity on the coaching staff but not as manger yet

26 Apr 2018 09:14:45
LDM

You are absolutely right - he could well be. Forgive me for the pessimistic post but I’m just not sure that the toxic infrastructure at Ibrox is the best environment to bring someone like him in at the moment.

This being said - the whole story could be pants and if it’s not whoever is in charge will have my full support. Until they start losing regularly, that is.

26 Apr 2018 09:25:17
Changed your tune since yesterday LDM. Do you believe it now because you read it in your favourite rag? 😉

26 Apr 2018 09:28:12
The funny thing about Managers is there are no guarentees, You look at someone like Moyes who was excellent at Everton for a number of years - surely a safe pair of hands for Man Utd and it didn't work out. Then Koeman doing well at Southampaton and moves to Everton and fails there. Then you have inexperienced Managers like Pep and Zidane and Souness back in the day (all be it all had great players and big budgets but so did Moyes and Co) .
No Manager can guarentee sucess. Stevie G doesn't have managerial experience but does have Passion for the game, a natural leader, been there and done it as a player and speaks very well to the media. He wasnt on my list of desired Managers but i doubt we could afford anyone on my list (Hiddink, Ancelloti, Sir Alex lol) so if we go with him il back him 100% and pray he is our new Souness.

26 Apr 2018 09:34:21
Never mind Gerrard as manager get him into our midfield

26 Apr 2018 09:49:11
When Souness was manager, he had a lot of money to spend.

26 Apr 2018 09:58:25
Let's see who gets it first, then judge him there after. I'm old enough to remember thee moans re Souness
Least he will be respected

26 Apr 2018 10:38:51
Can you imagine Steve g as boss and we get Liverpool in the EUR cup. both stadiums wood be buzzen

26 Apr 2018 12:13:11
When souness came in - he could shop at the top end and raised the England team!

WE are looking at end of career or loan signings - - just a wee tad of a difference I'd suggest.

26 Apr 2018 13:36:21
If it is to be Stevie G, what about Alex Miller as his No.2?

26 Apr 2018 14:43:09
Not really got any preferences for who we get, just let it be someone that can kick a. and get some passion into our players!

26 Apr 2018 15:58:59
Think the board have thought this through properly as players will automatically respect Gerrard and players will work for him but we need the older guys like Martin and walk Miller gone as they think too highly of themselves i mean thanks for your service guys but u haven't got it anymore time to move on

26 Apr 2018 17:06:54
Ralph wit u thinking we start singing never walk alone because every fan has been with the club good times and bad so the song has more meaning fur us and Steve g bring the pool side of things to use

25 Apr 2018 23:53:00
Heard from a decent source (may not be true but wanted peoples thoughts)

Warnock will be announced Monday after the Celtic game, Arfield and Mcgregor to be announced prior to the game

Warnock will look to bring in Ross McCormack, Scott Dann and James McArthur

Windass, Foderingham and Tav to be sold in the summer with the club hoping to get around £7million once all deals done.

26 Apr 2018 00:58:01
Tav? I’d definitely keep Tav, he’s one of our only good players. Not had a composer of a ball like him in a long long time. I remember watchig Smiths teams and thinking to myself ‘I’ve not seen a decent crosser in a Rangers shirt since Niel McCann’ 😂😂

I think Warnock would be a cracking manager for us, can’t see it but I hope it’s true.

26 Apr 2018 08:14:15
That was meant to say 'crosser' not composer haha, auto-correct.

26 Apr 2018 08:54:13
ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE

25 Apr 2018 23:35:13
Arfield 3 year deal close to being signed and McGregor 2 year deal to follow. Fod and Windass will be sold as part of big clear out.

26 Apr 2018 09:59:52
I'd sell Tav tomorrow, poor when we think this is the right standard

26 Apr 2018 16:03:58
Tag is a proper full back and he and candies partner very well together why get rid of hi m if well him but for no less than 6 mill. Windass with the right coaching could be a top class player is give him another season under new managment. Remember he is our second top goalscorer

25 Apr 2018 22:08:46
Neil Warnock New manager 100%

26 Apr 2018 08:54:38
WRONG

26 Apr 2018 13:19:51
He’s under contract so that’s definitely a non starter Neil
