Jamie murphy is a top striker in the spl i would understand him wanting to come when rangers when they are back in the spl but not atm if rangers get out division 3 dont really see division 2 as the ideal place for murphy but still would bag the goals in so fingers crossed

Kenny macdowell is murphys godfather

at the end of the day murphy is a good player and could bang in the goals where ever he is he hasnt had the best start to this season but he could be the top goal scorer in the leauge giving a good group of players around him

Agree0 Disagree0

No chance Murphy is going to Rangers
he will get much better offers and will take one of them

Ed , can we sign players on pre contracts who are out of contract on Jan 1st and then register them on the 1 st of September? Obviously we wouln't be able to play them until after the transfer embargo has ended on the 31st August. {The Ed039's Note - All was asked this last week and even he says clarification is needed on the matter. As far as I am aware the embargo stands until the end of the summer transfer window 2013 which is September 3rd. To be able to play players in SFL you must have them registered by the end of the window, otherwise you can not register or play them until the next SFL registration window which is 1st January 2014. So if the embargo does end on 3rd September next year, then there is no opportunity to sign players until January 2014, unless they are under 18 years of age of course)

Believable9 Unbelievable10

Isnt the embargo only for 1 yr ending on the 1st of september 1 yr after it started would give us 2 days to register players

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't think we can sign players under contract until January 2014.However,I see no reason why we can't sign out of contract players from 4th September 2013.
The transfer embargo finishes the day before so I would assume that players who are out of contract after the window closes could be signed.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah but if they are free agents then it'd be ok. What they'd have to do is convince the player to not sign for anyone til Sep 3rd and sign for gers as free agent. Gers would obv have to bump his pay packet accordingly to compensate him for his missing wages from July 1st. Is that possible? {Ed001's Note - yes.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Players who are out of contract and have no club could be registered after window, it's only transfers that can be done? So if a players contract expires at end of season and he has no club would he not be able to be signed?

Agree0 Disagree0

Why all the panic? The players we have already are good enough to win div3 & div2 then we can worry about new players

Agree2 Disagree0

Ed did we not register Aluko last season in October? Is not not the case that free agents can be registered outside of transfer windows? For example Rangers find a player who is out of contract at the end of the 2012/13 season, sign him to some office role and then register him as a footballer as a free agent some time in September? {The Ed039's Note - Yes but we were in the SPL at that point, I am not sure if SFL rules allow it, like I said I think there are 2 periods to register players within and they are the transfer windows, but I did miss out that players who have not turned 21 by a certain date do not need to be registered)

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed my take is that we had accepted a one year embargo, that would be 365 days not 368, i also thought that any player over or under 21, who is out of contract can sign with a club and be registered out side the transfer window

JG {The Ed039's Note - Thats my understanding of it, like I said Ally didnt even know when asked last week and said the whole club needed some clarification, so the whole thing is as clear as mud)

Agree0 Disagree0

The transfer window closes 1st of September if it is a weekend they can extend it to allow paper work to go throu thats only optional and not mandatory so i doubt it would extend to clubs under a ban .... however the things alli is asking is ... after the first of September he can sign out of contract players thats fact what he wants clarified is signing out of contract players during the window and not registering them as players until after the 1st ( problem ) if he signs the players and they are contracted to your club would they be seen as out of contract players come the 1st of September ?? the other was where yous would be playing regarding registering players as trialists if their is an spl 2 and yous are in it spl rules dont allow trialists to play so you could have signed players you cant use ... this isnt things that need clarified its simply trying to bend the rules {The Ed039's Note - No its not that simple, because you must register players over 20 or 21 with the SFL as part of your 22 man squad, and this can only be done during the transfer windows, so if you sign a player outside of the transfer window he cant be registered to play football until the next window opens)

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed the rule states 22 at any one time it doesnt say it cant be changed clubs sign out of contract players every year they must be able to change it {The Ed039's Note - I am just giving you my understanding of it. If I am wrong then I am wrong but this is what I can make of it)

Agree0 Disagree0

Think you are misisng a trick here trensferees can be registered outside of the window so why cant anyone else...the transfer window is in effect for players to move between clubs not to register players....
