Rangers have opened talks to extend Kyle Lafferty's contract. Kyle's agent had a meeting in London yesterday with Craig Whyte and are close to agreeing a deal.
Followfollow81

Believable42 Unbelievable21

I hope ths isn't true because he's a s**t player. Four goals this season and we're going to give him a new contract, it's a mistake. Lafferty is not prolific, never has been, we should cut our losses with this guy.

Agree0 Disagree0

I Agree we can do better than laugherty get rid of Broadfoot and Whittaker while were at it

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do yous want to get rid of lafferty it has taken the best part of 3 years to get him to where he is now then yous want rid of him surely he is on the up now and will only get better a really don't get some people ally will get the best out of him we spent 4 million on him and am sorry but i would like to see him sign a new contract plus the guy wants to be at ibrox for the rest of his career am happy with that i want people playing at ibrox who want to play there

campbell

Agree0 Disagree0

Think u will find he has scored 11 in the last 14. He's a big game player although i don't think he can play up front on his own. I think he is worth a new deal though. The first two post clearly don't know much about football.

4 in a row

Agree0 Disagree0

Leave the big guy alone. He deserves a contract purely on his playing. He puts in 100% every time hes on the pitch - no one trys harder. AND contrary to popular belief he has ability in abundance with lots left to come.

Agree0 Disagree0

Another point is that Kyle is still a young fella and still has a lot more to give, his best years are still to come for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah give the Big Guy a break What has he done wrong OR shall we SAY what has he done ?. Big game player some CLOWN posted some txts ago What big games have you been watching You's got put out of Europe by a Diddy team fae sum 3rd nation counrty. Then Again put out of EUROPA LEAGUE by a OTHER Diddy team. So Yeah Give the BIG MUMMPET A NEW DEAL a other Asset to get sold to Help With the HUGE BILL coming your way.P.S Go on say i don't knew anything about Rangers OR THE taxcase I do enjoy coming back on and reading your txts Hope the site stays open when the the BIG bill drop's through those Big doors at GREYSKULL. IN THE WHITE KNIGHT WE TRUST..
16KEANO

Agree0 Disagree0

16KEANO You should be embarased to mention europe. What major league were the team that knocked you out in? CLOWN.

Agree0 Disagree0

16Keano i see you support the THIRD rate DIDDY TEAM yourself....Europe you's lot are having a laugh...only reinstated after being humped by a third rate Swiss Team. Get yersel back to the Giro Dome and leave the Champions to it ya TUBE.

4inaRow

Agree0 Disagree0

Keano three in a row ! Ten points clear already enough said ya muppet !G.Ryd .

Agree0 Disagree0

You can tell Keano has absolutely no intellect at all by the composition of his posts. Get yourself back to school son and leave the adults among us to discuss all things blue.

Gerry The Ger.

Agree0 Disagree0

So i managed to fumble my way through illiterate keanos loud mouth ravings of a bitter little man.keano,wow.you epitomise all thats wrong with our education system.badly written, nonsensical pish.so who in your team has scored 11 in 14? samaras? ! of course not.pooper? nope.anthony jokes? not him either.its really interesting how your mhob all turned into tax experts overnight when you cant even place a full stop in the right place.miko, hes a muppet too but at least hes somewhat articulate.you talk about the europa as if you actually deserve to be there! that,in itself,is laughable.you should really just give your keyboard a clean off,its undoubtedly covered in saliva and spaghetti hoops, much like your hoops top.
drumlad

Agree0 Disagree0

Must admit i doubted big lafferty at first, but surelly now he has proved himself the goals he scored at the end of last season and the composure he can show when he passes into the net ,seems to have matured and settled down a bit , big future for the boy at the gers when big jela goes lafferty will then be the main striker future legend in the making

Agree0 Disagree0

Drumlad. Your mum and dad must be so proud of there Gers Boy with all your BIG words you must have went to school alot longer than some of the other numbskulls on this site. Anyway lets wait and see next old firm game What your so called great forwards do. A other thing drumnuts
Who said anything about being tax experts Not me or any other fan who has come on to your site to look and Have a laugh at YOUR so called great club ? i will say this now and hold my peace " NOTHING IS WON IN OCTOBER" so enjoy it now.
16 KEANO.
p.s i will go back to my own site now when i am feeling sad and upset with the way CELTIC are playing again i will pop back over just to see more of the sh*#te
on this site.

Agree0 Disagree0

If Ally sees fit to give Lafferty a new deal I'll support him, I personally think the lads starting to come good and fulfil the potential Walter saw in him. Then again I would support anyone who runs out in the blue of Rangers....

Agree0 Disagree0

Lafferty will never cut it as a centre forward for Rangers, He's played in 127 Competative games for Gers and scored 45 goals with 13 assists.
Hes got no first touch, can't link the play, never wins a header and his discipline is poor. Arrogant premadona with no ability to back it up. He will never be able to lead the line like a Jelavic, Hately, Mols or Prso.

Not worth a new contract

Agree0 Disagree0

Keano, where do i start? firstly,i didnt stay on in school much longer than fourth year,i just paid attention to our good BRITISH curriculum.my words arent particularly big as u claim, just troublesome to you.lol! i never claimed anything was won in october, just looking very likely that the trophy that really counts will be staying at home as our 'fantastic forwards' dont really need to do much to trouble your pathetic,at best, defence.our club is great,no shameful secrets like yours, loads more silverwear than yours and, lets face it,potentially more success on the cards than yours.doesnt it hurt that when we have been going through what undoubtedly is the worst few years financially in our history that your shower just dont have the ability to do anything about it? if i was a knuckle draggin hairy back id be hurting too.id probaly resort to jumping onto the cel*ic pages and looking to wind up as many inbreds as possible, because thats possibly the only joy id have in my pathetic sham of a life.do us all a favour, stick to your word, dont bother us with your boring s**te any more.awwww and by the way,i saw what u did with the drumnuts thing, very clever little boy.very, very clever........yawn.
drumlad

Agree0 Disagree0

Keano, acoording to you and your chums Rangers won't be around for the next OF. Gonnae make yer tiny minds up please?

Thanks pal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Keano what can I say mmmmm..... nothing as yer a mu**et. Get back to your own rumours site please thankyou in advance.

WATP 4IAR

Agree0 Disagree0

16Keano the man so awfully obsessed with Rangers asks what Lafferty has done eh? Well how about scored the winning goal in the games where we clinched the title in 09 and 10 and then also a hat-trick in the game where we clinched 3 in a row. Notice a pattern emerging?? Well keep watching cos it's likely he will score again WHEN we clinch 4 in a row probably around early April ;) Oh and as for these so called diddy teams from 3rd rate countries well I suppose Switzerland is a dominant footballing power then is it? And at least the diddy teams that beat us were champions of their leagues rather than just some non entities that only qualified through winning the cup (much like that pathetic mob you allegedly follow)

This is going to b great the crap i may get.
I have it exceptional athurity that rangers will not b going into admin at all. After a discussion with certain invduals (who i can not name for legal reasons) that rangers will NOT b going into admin. There will b certain amount of cut backs tho which has been publicised by Mr Whyte himself. I do not care if people doubt this information one bit as its still on going. There is going to b speculation over this until HMRC lose the tax battle (which is obvious. I have made it my personal bussiness over the months of speculation to find out the full and legal standings. After months of discussions with people including friend that is a laywer and other indivduals ( sources i cant say or even say what bussiness there in or if they are ibrox indidvuals for legal reasons as i have all ready said) this tax bill has put us all under alot of stress. I CAN ASSURE EVERYONE RANGERS FANS AND ALL THAT WE WILL NOT ENTER IN TO ADMIN.

wee J trueblue

Believable54 Unbelievable69

Mate its not even that people dont believe you, its just that its the same stuff we keep reading every day and until something is concrete i am not worried anyway, but i hope your right.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nice to hear mate, looking forward to Lenny and keano reading your post.

They will be crying into their green and white scarves. Haha

10 point clear
10 goals better off
and they think we are in trouble!
4 in a row

Agree0 Disagree0

Sory mate its hard to believe ur post wen Mr Whyte has come out and said IF gers lose the tax bill it i possible that we will go into admin .... if what you were saying is true why would he come out and cast doubt. Ps there is nothing illegal about talking about the ramifications of Admin and gers current situation hence why pundits and radio shows have been bangin on abou ti for ages now.

Germinator

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes its not illegal but it should not be all doom and gloom, if we went in admin and things were tough for a while it would probably get rid of the glory hunter fans who only turn out when times are good. We could be reborn in the lower english divisions and work our way up. I for 1 would go watch that.

4 IN A ROW

Agree0 Disagree0

I tend not to trust people with awful grammar.

Agree0 Disagree0

So u have all the contacts from unknown sources in unknown companys in unknown universes. cant stop laughin at ur post do u write for the hearld or the bbc. Ofcourse! Were no gone to belive u cause its people like u that got us in this mess. W.a.t.p

Agree0 Disagree0

What a heap of rubbish - you have no reliable information, all you have is poor grammar skills.

The only reliable fact is none of us know whats going to happen, were all going on guess work.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm puzzled with your mock illiteracy, little J.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well, let us hope that Whyte's legal team can type and spell better than you!

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers will go into administration very soon trust me..... and it will help us in the long term

Agree0 Disagree0

All that stress doesnt half make one forget to put on spell-checker "that for folks thats heads are full of magic" pal but good luck to the gers hope it all ends well. grizzlybear.

Agree0 Disagree0

Tell me 2 posts up how will admin help us.
u idiot honestly you if you were a monkey u couldnt pick nuts out ur ass? meaning a 10 point deduction just as the manky mob r finding a little bit of form. dont think a want to take the chance when we lose all our best players. w.a.t.p

Agree0 Disagree0

Administration is actually CW's preferred option as it allows him a fresh start in business terms. As a football decision it is terrible for the fans but the present owner is a businessman first and maybe a fan second.

Agree0 Disagree0

Man there's a lot of heedless chickins on this forum? Theres every possible chance rangers united is the only way forword. r.u.f.c

Agree0 Disagree0

To the guy a couple of posts above. Celtic hittin a bit of form? Wot Celtic r u watching. They r rank rotten.

Agree0 Disagree0

Look at the end of the day you's can go about being 10 points clear JUST now we have a game in hand then YOU'S still have 3 Old firm games left to play the league is nowhere near over So stop posting Garbage and enjoy it because it will not last much longer

16KEANO

Agree0 Disagree0

Am I missing something.
David Murray is a shrewd business man, and I cannot believe he did not have his accountants and lawyers look into the tax position regarding payment of players wages into offshore accounts.
Mr Whyte during his due diligence examination would have been aware of the outstanding tax issue and the potential costs, yet he proceede with the purchase.
On the basis of the above, I cant see where this tax bombshell is going to happen.
If it does, someone has been seriously ill advised.

Agree0 Disagree0

I am very confident about this tax case. The EBT was a system, loophole if you like, exploited by not only Rangers Football Club but many football clubs and other businesses outside football. I honestly believe that the HMRC have realised the error and are now trying in vane to backtrack and recoup all lost monies.

This is only my belief though, but until the court case is over and something concrete comes out of it I shan't get my hopes up too much.

The only reason Rangers got chased up for this cash is because the HMRC realised that Rangers funds were ever decreasing. Your Man Utds and Arsenals etc, they all owe cash in abundance, a whole lot more cash than Rangers, yet they aren't being chased up! Why is that? Because they have major cash incomes and the parties in which these clubs owe the money too realise that they will never go low in revenue....

Agree0 Disagree0

Mr whyte only bought Rangers for a pound, so I reckon he knew what was coming ahead, anyway time will tell, Hail, Hail

Agree0 Disagree0

Be quiet.. yes we are.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nobody who writes and spells like you do has even slept with anybody in the know. if you think anyone reading this crap believes you ,dream on. rangers will go into administration and out of business. you will no longer be GLASGOW RANGERS they will be dead. you will have to start from scratch as rangers fc of glasgow , just like united of manchester , airdrie united and afc wimbledon, oh and by the way any trophies won up til now will freeze with glasgow rangers . rangers fc of glasgow will have no trophies and no history ... happy days x {Ed001's Note - I am confused, how is FC United or AFC Wimbledon related to this? Both were brand new clubs set up by fans as a separate entity while the original club was, and still is, in existence.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Its great to c all these heedlis chickins scratchin there a#@e wonderin how much time (which is borrowed by the way) is left of there beloved club. Try prayer..... but a think its to late for that.
Mon the hoops

Agree0 Disagree0

Great to see all the celtic fans posting on this site. What you dont realise is if rangers dissappear so will the scottish league, do you think for one minute sky would be intersted with one of the old firm missing? On top of that smaller clubs rely on the revenue gained from old firm clubs playing at their ground. Behave yersels and realise that lawell will not be able to bale out the league like he has done to balance celtics books. Without rangers your credibility crumbles.

Agree0 Disagree0

The name does not have to change if we enter admin. look at Motherwell , Dundee twice Livingston and various english teams.

Admin is not the end of the world.

Agree0 Disagree0

Now that we have the admin points in the bag does any of this really matter? have a wee look on Kerrydale st forum, the manky mob are worried we will go into administration and still win the league! i would take us to win more points than the scum over the rest of the season! not worried about what happens with the tax case anymore! Lennon must stay!

Agree0 Disagree0

Bottom line..Rangers offered between 10-15million one off payment at season start to make the BIG TAX CASE go away, therefor admission that in all likelihood they will lose the case, and HMRC refused. BE PREPARED

Alan smith is to be loaned out by Newcastle. could it be worth a punt?

Believable20 Unbelievable40

I'd take Alan Smith, why not? Very good player who's had his troubles with injuries and made it clear he has Rangers at heart.

Agree0 Disagree0

Crackin player on his day and has always said looks out for our results but would he get a game??

Agree0 Disagree0

Very versatile upfront or midfeild

Agree0 Disagree0

Please god Nooooooooooooo

Agree0 Disagree0

Will always like Alan Smith but where the hell has he been for the last few years?. He's been playing as a midfielder for the last few years(When he plays). Have plenty of midfielders. Would still take him though. can u imagine him in a Old Firm Game?

Agree0 Disagree0

I would happily take him, would be good experience in the team and as said before very versatile in the forward positions! Also sure he wouldnt be scared of a lunge or 2 against THEM

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd only take him as a forward but I've no idea how competent he would be as a forward player now.

We need forwards but don't particularly need to be spending any more money for a central midfield player.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good work rate, would prefer him up front, wages would be a problem i imagine though

Agree0 Disagree0

Wake up for Godsake Alan Smith you's could not get Miller n Goodwillie to sign. Anyway i think it would be a other Diouf Signing to try and Annoy the Hoopz. Anyway Big Sammy will come back and be on fire for us just wait and see.

Agree0 Disagree0

Your telling us to wake up pal, what has sammaras ever done for you to think that he will be back and on fire the only good thing he ever did was score 2 against us but then he missed a penalty which would surely have saw yous lot win the title if he had scored. The only way he could ever be on fire is if one of us set fire to him.

Agree0 Disagree0

We don't sign people just to annoy you timmy, we don't really care about u or what goes on at your club!. U are the people who hate everything rangers and care more about what the champions are doing rather than ur own little third placed club!

4 in a row.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha, that is a great reply mate.
we dont sign people to annoy u ha, classic!

rfc till i die

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldn't touch him with a bargepole. Done nothing for years and injury prone. Would be a complete waste of money.

Agree0 Disagree0

A complete waste of money we don't have! So, no players - Smith or other - will be signed! More likely players will be sold unfortunately!

Agree0 Disagree0

Someone says he was good on his day can anyone say what day that was?

Agree0 Disagree0

What a load of rubbish but if somebody puts in a word with miko "the illuminatti" septic might take smithy the "buffaloe soldier" on loan he,d do a job for them ..
looking at septics form this year.

Agree0 Disagree0

Playing in the champions League semi final for Leeds ,playing for Manchester United and playing 19 times for his country. That was his day. Sadly he has had bad injuries that have held him back.

Agree0 Disagree0

"Football agents" Specialise in telling lies to other people mate! You should know that? All their players are the best thing going aint they? We need to sit down and distance ourselves away from these guys because in my humble opinion they seem like con men! I don't care if you say they are or they ain't but i think they are well dodgy!

www.hmrc.gov.uk/employers/employee-benefit-trusts.htm

Dont know if this actually helps us but just posting this HMRC link for fellow bears

Believable8 Unbelievable3

Is does a bit for me i can make sense of most of it but i think so parts contradict (not sure of spelling sorry) itself, looking at this link makes me think we have a good chance paying a nominal fee to hmrc as opposed to having to pay the full £49 million

Wullie

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont think this will help us, as the whole point of this is to stop the cases going to court,

we are already at the court stage,

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with previous poster, however this could be a way of HMRC making sure they get something back in case the court rules against them and also without the expense of court fees

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye but you have got to ask yourself mate ā€˜why are they reluctant to go to court?ā€™
If they were to go to court with a sound case, litigation costs wouldnā€™t matter because
The renumeration of monies would far outweigh legal costs.

Maybe im just taking something out of this that doesnā€™t exist but this says to me that
HMRC arenā€™t all too confident in their case. If you look at the dates within the paragraph
ā€œDetails of Initiativeā€ it explains that the legislation was passed in April this year but that
Cases of use anywhere dating from 9th December 2010 will be culpable for repayment.
So then you ask yourself, how could Rangers spend £50m from December 2010 on Employment
Benefits trusts? Personally I really donā€™t see us paying back over £8m but then again im a
Biased Rangers fan who really wants a good outcome for us. Just an opinion. I do not have
Any speciality in this field, just sharing my thoughts.

Agree0 Disagree0

As i posted earlier i dont think the will help us, as were at the court stage already

i really think it is an all or nothing case with us and the hmrc, (finger crossed for nothing)

but i defo dont see the figure to repay being anything near what has been quoted before,

i just hope it is sorted out quickly so we can strenghten the squad more in january. and then continue to head for 4inarow,.

but even if is not sorted as, i think it shows the mental strenght and character of our squad and manager that their not letting this situation, get into their heads and are continuing to do the job on the pitch week in and week out, by getting the points in the bag,

Agree0 Disagree0

Wont be all or nothing. If we loose the court case we will go into admin and pay nothing or very little to the tax man And the tax man knows this so he will probably strike a deal with us for a reduced amount. This 49 million talk is rubbish.

Agree0 Disagree0

I love all you's thinking that this is all just paper talk about the £49 MILLION Its a reailty so STOP trying to hiding and face the Fact that IF the court case goes against you's It will also bring a Major Storm over GREYSKULL's Futre also.
16keano.
p.s I missed the programme on THE BBC did any of YOU'S tape it LOL LOL. LOL

Agree0 Disagree0

Firstly I dont think this statement has any impact on us whatsoever. When HMRC provide such statements it is not to let people off light but rather to give them the opportunity to pay up and save themselves massive costs incurred by going through the legal process. Obviously there is always a chance that HMRC will lose their case in court but since the Rangers case is already off and running the only thing that will impact is the judgement in this case. I do not want to see us going into administration and the best outcome is obviously that we win the case. I do however understand that we would probably be better off in the long run hitting administration, disgraceful and all as that will be, rather than being slowly bled dry over a number of years as a result of a middle of the road settlement.

Agree0 Disagree0

What evidence do u have for this Keano?, wishful thinking me thinks.

4 in a row

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol keno, tape it! . Don't know about you mate but I got rid of my vhs around the late 90s. Bet your still riding up to legoland on your chopper. Bet your writing your posts from a zx spectrum, lol tape it ha ha. Pennyboy

Agree0 Disagree0

I am no expert - but it is far from an all or nothing case - It's before a tribunal, they could rule that there is no case to answer or they could rule that rangers broke EBT rules and owe what the taxman says they owe, but they could also say - your only liable for some of it. It's an extremely complex situation, this is the 3rd time the Tribunal has met - that tells you that its not as cut and dried as some people would have you believe. If anyone watched the STV interview the part on whether he would appeal if we lost he said something alog the lines " He would need to see the extent of the ruling" but agreed it would be bad for the club to have a massive debt around it's neck .. read into that whay you will

Agree0 Disagree0

If yous watched the programme mr whyte and friends are just vultures they take over companies in trouble and bleed them dry they all ways get there money back and then some why has he not spent after what he promised yous ,when the court case comes up he will win either way ,tax man wins he walks away with his money ,and if not he still has the club thought wee fergus was fly he aint got a patch on whyte why will he not say how he has made his money and why is he not suing the bbc ,wee need rangers as the spl will be nothing no old firm games will become even more of a laughing stock .celtic supporter.
