28 Jul 2016 20:46:22
Guys, just back from working down in Southampton and met Kyle lafferty at Glasgow airport. He confirmed he's in talk with rangers!

28 Jul 2016 21:02:42
absolutely pray your wrong.

28 Jul 2016 21:08:13
Aye he's going to tell a complete stranger his plans. I can't wait until we sign this striker.

28 Jul 2016 21:09:59
Hope not was useless the first time round.

28 Jul 2016 21:23:46
I would give everything NOT to have him back even if he stops his off field behaviour I still don't rate him as a top centre forward in my opinion we need someone more mobile and more prolific he brings unwanted front page paper headlines and not enough back page ones that's before I get into sueing rangers walking out not waiting to get the gers a transfer fee like Davies did etc I feel we should move onto other targets I'd honestly stick to dodoo waggy miller and a youngster before bringing him back and I want gers to bring someone in!

28 Jul 2016 22:05:12
Hooly he was actually running about the arrival hall shouting it out at the top of his voice.

No way will he be back at ibrox- the club know how unpopular he is.

28 Jul 2016 22:48:06
It is believable if you think about it, all these other rumours are so far fetched and a guy says something that acctualy sounds feasable and its blown out! Wouldn't be surprised if it's not far from the truth!

28 Jul 2016 22:48:09
why would the board care how popular he is with fans? Did that stop them resigning Miller when all the fans were singing stick him up your arse? They done it anyway and were proven correct in doing so.

29 Jul 2016 00:55:39
Lafferty would do a job.

29 Jul 2016 07:45:15
Pierre you're correct he could do a job, cleaning, painting a bit of weeding and any other odd jobs needing done at Ibrox.

29 Jul 2016 08:17:24
lets not be too quick to judge here. while i too was very very disappointed with the way things went down with player contracts and the sale of the club etc. perhaps looking at what has been going on with court cases and sponsorship deals etc maybe just maybe we can all take a step back and think. maybe what these guys said has been true. many bears fans were applauding charles green and now they hate him. i for one would welcome Steve Davis, Steve Naismith, Kyle Lafferty back as those were some of the best players in our squad at the time and are still preforming and a high standard and would do a great job in getting us back to where we belong (providing MW and DW want them) beating celtic winning leagues and runs to european cup finals.

29 Jul 2016 09:06:44
he's a good player better than Miller, o'halloran etc.

29 Jul 2016 09:22:22
100% agree with you Stirling, I have said similar numerous times and been slaughtered by the same guys. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I like yours.

29 Jul 2016 10:21:07
i have no problem with lafferty coming back TBH whos pockets would have been lined with any transfer money we got for these players i doubt it would have the clubs but naismith is never welcome back IMO he publically went out and slated the club that's a no no for me.

29 Jul 2016 10:58:20
HE IS NOWHERE NEAR AS GOOD AS MILLER!

he wouldn't be a popular signing to say the least and not because he walked out more to do with the fact he is worse than me and I have two left feet!
that being said I agree i'd have davis and naisy back in a heart beat they are better now than when they left and are 10 times more effective than laffatme!
would honestly give my season ticket back if we where to sign lafferty as our main striker.

29 Jul 2016 11:55:10
You would have naismith back. Did u see his press conference where he basically said rangers were dead. I'd have anyone back apart from whittaker and naismith. And at this time of course he's better than miller. Miller is a wonderful pro but he should not be anywhere near the starting 11.

29 Jul 2016 14:41:08
Kenny Miller before lafferty all day long! better goal scorer and at his age still works harder than lafferty ever will no contest for me.

29 Jul 2016 18:01:23
He's not better than Kenny Miller and Miller is a legend as well. However he us a good player and like Naismith regardless of what appeared to be a lights at our club they two are both Rangers men through and through. I am now repeating myself that thieves and scoundrels were running our club and bleeding it dry and these lads all knew that and we're also being robbed. So let's cut them a bit of slack and if they ever do come back they should be made welcome .
You must be some player James if you are better than big LaffsπŸ˜€.

29 Jul 2016 22:27:36
Waghorn scored about 28 goals last season and was injured for a couple of months. So why the hell would we sign lafferty. Not good enough for us.

30 Jul 2016 00:31:00
I could go on about how he jumped ship like many others I won't mention. However I quite frankly think he's fair ta schite and really don't want him anywhere near ibrox. It's not bitterness, I don't rate him and he doesn't deserve to play alongside Lee Wallace, insulting for me. So in short, I hope you're making it up!

30 Jul 2016 10:20:23
Steven Davis got us money when he left (look it up) and would be welcomed back, Lafferty did not. Lafferty left us high and dry when we were at our lowest (as did others that I'll not mention) He walked away, got his greedy big signing on fees because his contract was ripped up, effectively on a technically. Others who had little history with the club stayed, he portrayed himself as a life long fan and sold us out. He got to stroll about Seria A and the premiership while folk like Lee Wallace rolled up there sleeves and slogged the lower leagues. We then get back to the SPL, sign some quality players and get back to old firm games and this guy wants to stroll back through the gates. You kidding me? It would be insulting seeing him on the same pitch as Lee Wallace.

30 Jul 2016 12:03:49
Have to agree with you JS, I really don't care too much about the guys that "walked away" after the shambles that went on at our club, as any fees would have just swollen the pockets of the theives and crooks that were sucking our club dry.

However, Naismith and Whittaker can go and die as far as I care, I get leaving for financial and security reasons, but putting the boot in to the fans that you were supposed to care for (and in Naismith's case - be one of) is unacceptable.

31 Jul 2016 15:15:47
Kenny for me too. Tho neither of them is a good finisher, Kenny is a good Gers man, Lafferty thinks he is, , but we shouldn't judge a young man on stupid statements and acts when he was a young and silly boy, saying that I don't fancy him back here, unless of course you never made a stupid statement when you were young?
Tommy.

28 Jul 2016 15:28:55
I work for the airline people are stating that RVP is on. I can assure you he is not a flight from dalaman. Easy to check.

28 Jul 2016 16:07:33
Bluenose87 if you do what you say you do it might be easy to check. For other people outside the aviation spectrum it's not so simple. Airlines do not give out passengers names even if you state you're a relative. So quite frankly I think you're talking a load of bull. IMO.

28 Jul 2016 14:21:03
Latest I've heard is James Wilson from Man Utd on loan.

28 Jul 2016 14:30:17
Ive heard that as well!
David villa's name cropped up also!

28 Jul 2016 14:42:42
dont think wilson would be 'sensational' but rashford maybe?

28 Jul 2016 15:22:43
You mean you seen it on FF? wouldn't mind Wilson right enough but the RUMOUR i heard was ciprian marica. can play central or Wide and is 30 and a free agent. lots of caps aswell.

28 Jul 2016 16:40:25
Will keane. man utd, 1 mill
Prob more of a chance with him than anyone else.

28 Jul 2016 17:04:20
lol Rashford.

28 Jul 2016 17:14:10
also, why give it a rest? its been way too long since we've had the opportunity to get excited about rumours and signings. We deserve a bit of a buzz in the air.

28 Jul 2016 17:31:20
Gersgeek - fair enough mate, but this is not rumours it's bears finding a name (even if their on 90k! ) And putting it on here. There must be over 30 names mentioned the last few weeks. That's not rumours it's wishful thinking.
Think most of them come from people who think beating a college team from America and a couple poor Scottish teams means we are world beaters. I really do hope I'm wrong but hope we're not in for a shock next week.

28 Jul 2016 20:39:46
Well bil72 u sound very pessimistic compared to my fellow bears WHO are just enjoying being linked with football players instead of all the C rap we've had in the last few years. So top up your half full glass ma man, were on the up and on the way to 55.

28 Jul 2016 21:28:11
Laundrup there's a difference between pessimistic and realism I agree with bil72 as much as I live reading rumours over the last few weeks on here it's not been rumours it's just people on clearly making up names there's a difference between rangers rumours and rangers bulls**t everyone is just flinging out names so if one comes off they can say see I gave you the exclusive I suggest posting if you genuinely have a RUMOUR not just making something up.

28 Jul 2016 21:51:51
Laudrup86, not pessimistic - realistic!
We ARE NOT linked with almost all of these names!
Wake up!

28 Jul 2016 22:35:57
I know we Aren't mate but don't you agree its nice to be having a debate about R. V. P/ (sensation) than sandaza and Clark?

29 Jul 2016 01:15:53
I do agree with ya on that laudrup its good that we can come on reading rumours that isn't dross players, however I don't wanna come on just to read utter tripe either just genuine rumours would be nice. even some far fetched ones now and again give you a chuckle but all this rvp on a flight to Glasgow I served him extra ice so he told me he signing a deal with gers as we now friends talk is nonsense just gives the dark side ammo and takes away from genuine rumours imo.

29 Jul 2016 09:45:04
If you want to suggest that you would love someone to join Rangers then by all means say so, but don't state that yer da's Dave Kings caddy and he discusses transfers with him because you're only making yourself look bad.

I look forward to coming on here to read through the chat and the rumours but some folk just ruin it with complete lies.

Anyway happy Friday troops hopefully get someone in shortly.

29 Jul 2016 13:01:08
anyone with any sense knew r v p was never going to happen as it was the same with ibrahimavic for the dark side .
I do get that we are now in a much better place and honestly think another striker would be good but is not essential.
I think the only essential place that needs a real quality player is the cb role which hasn't been tested with clint hill but I don't see him being a full season player we need sum1 younger but with enough experience at a higher level that would make him a stalwart in our team.

29 Jul 2016 16:16:44
I think it will be Marica for striker as the player has played a lot for international side which rules out Wilson.

28 Jul 2016 13:17:57
eyger he canny be oan a flight fae dalaman at the moment as u so pit it- only flight arriving from Dalaman is at 0140 -so unless the plane is making a pit stop in Toronto u could be right!

28 Jul 2016 13:40:29
I just heard R. V. P was getting an ednbrgh flight from Istanbul! β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜†.

28 Jul 2016 14:00:40
THATS ALL i'm HEARING RIGHT NOW IS RVP - YES IT WOULD BE GREAT IF WE WHERE ACTUALLY IN FOR HIM.
I am not going to believe this drivel I think we will get another big named player in but it should be a cb as we already have enough goals in our team to win the spl.

28 Jul 2016 14:08:07
He dizny need a flight, no remember him flying for that header at the world cup,

28 Jul 2016 15:09:08
If use listened to warburtons presser there is no interest in RVP.

28 Jul 2016 15:47:44
Guys I would love to see RVP at Ibrox but it doesn't make sense especially with no Europe! We have a team at the moment that can challenge for title and I think RVP could unsettle the squad due to his wages.

28 Jul 2016 12:21:02
I have just had a text from a good friend who plays golf at lenzie golf club he was drinking with John greig and says the deal offered to rvp is one year loan. king funding his wages for the year with the option of further 2 years if rangers qualify for champions league. Only posting what I've heard.

28 Jul 2016 12:34:06
Jim White has just tweeted to say that a top source at rangers has said its total fabrication. I know who I believe.

28 Jul 2016 12:40:14
Did we really need Jim to tell us that? More of a job for captain obvious.

28 Jul 2016 12:41:03
Jim white also said that j barton was a non starter good track record lol.

28 Jul 2016 13:14:37
does jim whyte actually have any sources at the club?
or does he just talk his name. lol
i've prob heard him get more wrong than right.

still i wouldn't mind if its RVP.

28 Jul 2016 13:36:09
Does Jim whyte talk to John Menzies or the guy at the Petrie station?

28 Jul 2016 13:36:41
Jim white never gets anything right with his 'sources' for various clubs probably just sits on this like the rest of us and spreads rumours like butter on warm toast.

28 Jul 2016 13:47:19
Mark warburton has come out and rubbished claims that RVP is signing. Can we all now move on.

28 Jul 2016 14:02:22
when did he rubbish the claims mate? and about time as i'm fed up with everyone getting carried away we are not big or rich enough for him.

28 Jul 2016 14:11:49
Rangers Twitter page, he says he was both bemused and amused at the speculation!

28 Jul 2016 16:38:03
So much for your golf buddy. You sure he wasn't talking to John in Greggs?

28 Jul 2016 17:33:37
He didn't say he was signing he just said that was the deal that was offered to him Aston villa and Middlesborough have also offered him deals as he has stated that he wants get his family out of Turkey due to the unrest the same source has passed me lots of information that has turned out tobe true granted it was all around the Craig white and green situations.

28 Jul 2016 20:49:18
It is common for people like RVP to have clauses in their contract allowing them to break them if there is a substantial change in circumstance eg war, military coup, terrorist activity or failure to meet other non-football aspects of the contract. He may feel that he cannot keep his family safe and that is a substantial change.

28 Jul 2016 10:58:58
Ladbrokes have just suspended betting on RVP transfer.

If it goes through. WOW.

28 Jul 2016 11:50:27
Jim White just tweeted that according to very strong source within Ibrox that the story is completely fabricated!

28 Jul 2016 11:52:24
Has anyone checked with John Menzies about which planes for turkey are due in?

28 Jul 2016 12:01:26
He's on a jet 2 flight at the moment from dalaman, got a mate on the plane, so my mate says anyway.

28 Jul 2016 12:10:12
Haha, let's not start this Menzies caper again.

28 Jul 2016 12:28:20
Guys can we all be sensible here for a minute. In 2002 RVP was on the brink of joining us, but terms could not be agreed. I can't honestly seeing us paying those kind of wages like we did back in the early 2000's.

28 Jul 2016 12:53:05
Skybet odds on RVP as at 1240hrs are Rangers now at 4/ 7 - Stoke at 4/? and West Ham 8/ 1 - unlike the banter earlier in the week I know nothing about any flight details regarding RVP - the rumour at 8 am today was that an Airport Duty Manager ( there are several) had asked security when RVP was arriving- and, as usual someone overheard that or has passed it on - I'm only passing on what I was told this morning. - Co-incidental that the bookies odds were 6/ 1 yesterday - It's easy to suggest that it wouldn't take much money to lower the odds but wouldn'tStoke and West Ham fans be putting the odd fiver on RVP going to them? Let's, see what happens.

28 Jul 2016 13:13:09
Hope if this is true that it does not upset dressing room with blowing our wage structure .

28 Jul 2016 13:28:44
Oh aye i can just see Waggy n Miller demanding a transfer once they find out RVP is on more than them πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€.

28 Jul 2016 14:12:28
Bluenose33, Rangers had agreed terms with RVP in 2002. The problem was the deal could only go thru unlesd we sold a couple of players which didn't happen and Arsenal jumped in.

28 Jul 2016 08:36:58
Have it on good authority that RVP is expected soon at at Glasgow Airport. Source is, work gossip from arrival staff management.

28 Jul 2016 09:01:24
I wish people would stop making up these rumours we'll try and get a striker from league 1 or championship we just don't have the money.

28 Jul 2016 09:11:45
Bookies have him 1/ 2 favourite to sign for us now.

28 Jul 2016 09:22:08
Thejohnboy you know this is Rangers Rumours don't you. This RVP rumour isn't exactly one man starting some chat, it's all over the UK and Europe. I love being linked with quality player but if u prefer to be negative an look for League 1 player. Then you crack on.

28 Jul 2016 09:28:20
Guys, the RVP rumour might not be too far off the mark . Β£2 mill transfer fee, Β£40 k a week, 2 year deal, all in Β£6 mill over two years . It's possible!

28 Jul 2016 09:29:08
cmon guys, there's no chance, you would need to pay a fee as he is still under contract, plus wages would be a no go unless he's going to drop 100grand, we couldn't afford him. on a plus side its great for our teams that we are getting linked with bigger players.

28 Jul 2016 09:30:19
I this comes off it will be up there with some of our greatest ever signings. At 32 this guy will bang them in.

28 Jul 2016 09:42:41
If we were getting the RVP of 4 -5 years ago, that would indeed be a spectacular signing, but even if he was on the radar (currently on over Β£200k per week tax free, why not move to Govan? ) he is 32, he is injury prone, and has a record of falling out with managers and other players at every team he has played with.
Personally I'd give him a miss.
As for the bookies, they only lower the odds dependant on how much money is being put down in the first place. There are a lot of guys who punted a Β£5 at 8/ 1 on the off chance it might come true.
Personally I hope its the guy from RB Salzurg, more mobility, younger, more goals in him, and sell on value if he hits it off.

28 Jul 2016 09:48:15
There's more chance of us signing RVB.

28 Jul 2016 09:55:47
there is no way he will take a 90% wage drop to come to us - total crazy story we should be concentrating on more realistic targets.

28 Jul 2016 10:19:38
RVP rumour likely is "one man starting some chat" it's just then followed by scores of gullible folk putting thousands of pounds on it happening! Thus the bookies slash the odds (marketing/ protection move) and the media jump all over it! Remember there has been nothing from RVP'S camp suggesting a move to us. As much as I'm sure as physically possibly (without being RVP himself) that it isn't going to happen, the media publicity around it, helps raise the clubs profile!

28 Jul 2016 10:10:24
Can I point out that RVP was more than willing to take a 80% wage cut to go back to England. this chat of his wage will be 100k, 80k, 60k, 50k and the rest isn't true.

28 Jul 2016 10:23:50
It's for his families safety, turkey is a country in turmoil at the moment. If it was to do with that alone I would walk to Glasgow!

28 Jul 2016 10:33:20
Bil! 200k a week tax free? πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ he's on 4.9 million per year! Which is 96k a week, so yes he would need to take pay cut, but not as much as you think.

This has legs.

28 Jul 2016 10:47:05
Johnboy, it's been reported in the media and by several sources there may be something in it. With this being a rumours page if other posters never passed on what they have heard it would be very boring on here would it not, there is actually a lot of really accurate info been shared in here over the last few months.

28 Jul 2016 11:20:27
Ladbrokes have suspended betting on RVP to ibrox. I'm getting excited.

28 Jul 2016 11:37:38
And I suppose everyone will just ignore he hats recent comments saying the players we are after are not on twitter?

I am astounded people are falling for this. Was never likely to happen and still isn't.

We have 0% chance of signing Van Persie. Get with reality folks.

28 Jul 2016 11:52:52
Has anyone checked with John Menzies about which planes for turkey are due in?

28 jul 2016 11:56:25
never gonny happen and if it does it goes against everything that's makes any sense big wage cut to play in scotland in one of the worst leagues in europe at the min.
dont think we can get a rvp and i'd be happy with just another cb think we already have goals in our team!
if we where willing to spend money on rvp why not invest in a great defender as that's the only area we are short of real quality.

28 Jul 2016 12:00:31
Sporting Lisbon pulled out the deal because his wages are ridiculous.

29 Jul 2016 10:25:31
He has earned nearly 50mil in turkey. Why wouldn't he come and finish off at our great club. Regardless of what he gets paid!

Ibrox is where he fell in love with European football!

29 Jul 2016 10:33:52
Afcw191 no point hanging about the airports mate, rvp if he were to arrive will be coming via midnight express.

29 Jul 2016 20:51:34
All the redAll the reduction in odds means is theyt are taking a lot of money on RVP.
If you all bet on me going I would be odds on very soon. (I am not under contract to anyone if you are interested MW)

27 Jul 2016 22:55:48
Just to let you guys know what I heard on possible target from my old boss the signing we are making could be eidur gudjohnsen he met him during a trip while he was wearing his rangers top and eidur came over and seemed interested in chat about club and history and said never know may see you soon he felt bit of tongue in cheek remark but not sure know. Before starting big argument it's just a bit on info I heard πŸ™ˆβš½.

28 Jul 2016 01:32:22
Hi new poster on here if it was to be a player from Mls it more likely to be obefamy martins or Clint Dempsey.

28 Jul 2016 01:45:10
Anyway we find out in next 4 days I not got any sources but Clint Dempsey gives 100% and would take him.

28 Jul 2016 07:33:15
All the names being brandished about seemed out of our price bracket. but what do I know, bookies have now slashed odds on RVP to Gers!

28 Jul 2016 07:42:39
Obafemi martins is in China now.

28 Jul 2016 09:31:05
Bookies have slashed the odds tho, they have been doing the same for years, linking players with clubs that have no interest, how people haven't clocked that escapes me.

28 Jul 2016 10:49:33
Kenny, the boys nearly 38, I don't see this going anywhere. I never had him as an out and out goalscorer he's more a 10 for me and we have plenty who can play that role. Thanks for sharing thou.

28 jul 2016 11:59:12
dempsey i'd have taken bout 6 years ago but not now.

29 Jul 2016 12:26:25
Rangers would certainly be a good place to finish your career would it not. ? Another thing, it would take more than one fee fivers at 8/ 2 to encourage laddys to drop their odds, bookmakers have a gambling strategy you know, its not always as simple as some think
I said months ago that RVP was not an unlikely signing, mainly because of his closeness to other Dutch player who loved it here
