BBC Sport Scotland online:
SPL Board also meeting on Thursday. Investigating Rangers Players contracts and Registrations.

Believable31 Unbelievable13

This is true the board sits today. It's the last paragraph of the article mentioning the SFA tribunal sitting today against Whyte and Rangers.
Anyone who thinks Rangers won't be punished for all the dirty financial trickery and for bringing the game down is mistaken.

Agree0 Disagree0

It will be interesting to see the outcome of this meeting. Lets see if integrity is the
winner

Agree0 Disagree0

Is it too much to ask that the same scrutiny is now placed on all clubs
perhaps the vultures could go elsewhere for a while!

bill72

Agree0 Disagree0

Didn't the Killie chief offer to get them off with this in return for vote changes yesterday? It's all in the timing! Dirty dirty tricks. Unpleasant men.

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtic sit on this board and also at SFA.

Rangers new Owner will be Sir Tom Hunter But only if the Tax case goes in the Favor of Rangers . He is the unnamed 4th Bidder . NorrieB

Believable25 Unbelievable39

My reply...........utter rubbish. I am a Gers fan but Sir Tom would not want the baggage. plain and simple

Agree0 Disagree0

Sir Tom puts his money into ventures that will turn a profit, thanks to Murray and Whyte this won't happen at Rangers for a long time with or without the BTC

Agree0 Disagree0

Tom Hunter's statement is just a pr stunt....he knows you will lose the tax case, so he knows there will be no Rangers 1873 to bail out....you might see him help the new Hectors when they form the scalled down Rangers 2012 or 2013 or maybe Rangers 2014....

Agree0 Disagree0

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I am of the opinion that the only reason the more negative stories have been off the press for the last few weeks and replaced with positive spin is because we are trying to find a buyer. It makes sense that the PR machine is not going to jeopardize any chance we have. However I do not believe we are in any better a position than we were when things were reported at their worst and that liquidation and Rangers fc as we know it are very close now to being consigned to history. I believe interested parties are just circling waiting for the death and to then pick up the pieces for a newco.

Agree0 Disagree0

No chance, TH will not take on any business that cannot produce a major profit. Football is not profitable in this country.

Agree0 Disagree0

Post above: correct, there's little operating money left. The Celtic game brought in much needed 250k that keeps us going. The RFFF begging bowl has only given 22k to Dunfermline as a token gesture to influence our hearings.
They will keep the 250k for newco rather than blow it on a company about to be liquidated.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hunter won't touch it with a barge pole.

Agree0 Disagree0

Tom Hunter not interested in being rangers owner

i dont know if anyone else is thinking the same but has not gone awful quiet with the administrators with any updates on the the deals with creditors surely we should be getting some progress reports as to how things are moving on, not moving on, the deals are now now on the table and we should be shipping the administrators out its stalling stalling stalling at every turn with them, more an observation if anyone would like to comment and put up some info on the subject

Believable28 Unbelievable7

They have obviously clamped down on what info gets out. And rightly so. They need to do their jobs without the media intrusion. I think it is safe to say that if there is no news it is simply because no significant progress has been made. It would be detrimental to the process if all negotiations were made public. Everyone just has to be patient.

Agree0 Disagree0

At the beginning KJ and JT published all the administrators 'exclusives' from sources close to Administrators.
Some of them turned out to be rubbish.
Typical agenda reporting.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would you rather they rush and end up with another craig whyte?? i certainly wouldnt! also with the mess the club is in with tax etc & ticketus deals it isnt exactly a strait forward transaction...a lot of if and buts.

Agree0 Disagree0

The reason it is quite , is now is the time to sort out the various bids, and those behind the bids have to show the money available and where it is coming from. The real date to worry about is 14 May, as that is the date that any secured bid MUST, by law, be decided upon. If still nothing therafter, be afraid

Agree0 Disagree0

Under money laundering laws, where the money comes from has to be investigated. This isn't a problem for some bidders who are buying with debt, so no money.
I keep thinking its all a sham, and possibly a con on Ticketus, and that it always was Liquidation.

30,000 for the legends game, (on a Friday night to) and no doubt that number will rise to 35 or 40,000 maybe, absolutely fantastic nowhere else in the world would take that numbers in ! What do think ed ? Quite impressive eh mate?

Believable25 Unbelievable38

Celtic Park was full to the gunnels for the last such game with Martin O'Neil and Gordon Strachan as the team Managers.....64,000 seats sold.

Agree0 Disagree0

55,000 attended the Celtic vs Man Utd legends game. Still, as you say 30k is pretty good for a Friday night.

Agree0 Disagree0

Earlier this season Celtic got 53000+ for a game featuring celebs and old players (Genuine Charity game) Think before you post my friend

Agree0 Disagree0

...u got put right in your place lol

richybhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Earlier this season Celtic got 53000+ for a game featuring celebs and old players (Genuine Charity game) Think before you post my friend

Not on a Friday night they didn't

Agree0 Disagree0

For fans who dont wAnt to be compaired to rangers or combined in the old firm tag, you love to quickly make comparisons between the two. This is a rangers banter page.. Everything is not comparable to celtic... Give yourselves some peace.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh my dads bigger than your Dad - owe these dhims do make me laugh - they are totally obsessed with all things Rangers haha

Gerts1986

Agree0 Disagree0

No your right it wasn't a Friday, it was a Tuesday night. When people still had work the next day. Friday night is the start of the weekend. Therefore Celtic's was more impressive

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye impressive right enough mate......... Try 60,000 at Celtic park last season for a particular friendly!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Earlier this season Celtic got 53000+ for a game featuring celebs and old players (Genuine Charity game) Think before you post my friend

Not on a Friday night they didn't
No it was a Tuesday Night, what is your point, I think when in a hole , you should stop digging

Agree0 Disagree0

How about the 2000 that turned up for the FREE Alkmaar friendly then?

Agree0 Disagree0

2000 for a FREE friendly eh wood say that's pretty poor not impressive

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah, im pretty sure that was his point (Doh!) It was aimed at Celtic fans!

Agree0 Disagree0

This is the most pointless arguement ever!

Agree0 Disagree0

What about the 36,000 that was turnin up to league games when you's were wantin Lennon sacked, short memory span or jus armchair loyals??

Best fans in the world, haha

Offended by everything, embarrassed by nothing!!

Agree0 Disagree0

After yesterday confirmation by UEFA that teams not paying taxes will not be allowed in europe, the only midweek games the Hectors will be playing in the forthcoming seasons will be friendly games and so called charity games.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes it is completely pointless, unless you know which calculator the Celtic were using the Seville one or the 60's & 70's one ;-)))

Agree0 Disagree0

For fu*k sake, get a grip the lot of you. Ours was more impressive, no ours was more impressive, ours was a Tuesday, so wot ours was a Friday. You all sound like a bunch of ten year olds. Grow up. The Celtic friendly had a great turn out n so will the rangers one. End of story

Agree0 Disagree0

Earlier this season Celtic got 53000+ for a game featuring celebs and old players Think before you post my friend and at £5 adult and kids free not suprised

Agree0 Disagree0

Why say that 30k was impressive and that no other team can do then have celtic fans say they had more and attack them for it, this is a rivalry people will always compete

Agree0 Disagree0

Nowhere in the world eh? Think back to earlier this season, Celtic legends vs Man Utd legends. Try and match THAT attendance! And our proceeds went to charities.....not straight into the clubs pocket.

Agree0 Disagree0

Your FF equates to approx 50p per so called fan.. NOW THAT IS IMPRESSIVE lol

Agree0 Disagree0

You would need a crowd about 5.000000 to clear your debt, you are going to watch a lot of has beens, what you make half will go on expenses,a drop in the ocean but you poor wee things you are trying your best but afraid it will not be good enough ,liquadation im afraid. TOM THE TIM.

Agree0 Disagree0

Tom the Dhim, lot of has-beens? Yeah those has-beens that put you to the sword on many a great day & night?!?! This isn't Tosh McKinlay at left back it's Arthur Numan, it isn't Jon Gould in goal it's Andy Goram. I'd suggest you suck up the melted vice cream and allow us Gers to enjoy watching some of the legends and cult heroes that brought us fantastic and fully legal & deserved triumphs.

Agree0 Disagree0

@Tom the Dhim...lot of has-beens?
Jorg Albertz used to go past John Collins/Tosh Mckinlay/Paul Lambert/Craig Burley/Tom Boyd like they were dustbins in jerseys, also all these afore mentioned Celtic players were full Scotland international (Euro '96,France '98) with more than 200+ caps between them.....some has-been eh?????

The RFFF has paid off the rest of the outstanding debt due to dunfermline. But refused to pay dundee united as they added a ticket charge against us for the game that was abandoned and the reason we paid dunfermline is because they are struggling from something that is not of there making. Well done to the fans for continuing to contribute one less debt to worry about. Even though it was a small amount in comparisions with our other outstandings.
BGRFC

Believable25 Unbelievable24

Just go's to show that the club is still not making money if the ff has to pay the small bills,But you will have to dig deeper to pay D&P,so get a bigger bucket...b

Agree0 Disagree0

Fans should stop donating to these fighting funds !! Let the crooked owners pay the debts

Agree0 Disagree0

Out of all the Creditors why so pally with Dunfermline? I remember they laid down to you last game of a season 5-0 to give you the SPL against a battling Cetic scoring elsewhere. Sutton told the truth. I watched the game and Lee Wilkie was criminal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Get get ur facts right, the score was 6-1.

Lee Wilkie never played for Dunfermline.

FYI, the same day Celtic had their biggest win @ Kilmarnock for years, did they lie down!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

The Dunfermline game was 6-1, and if i remember it rightly 15 mins in it was 1-1, more of a battle at that point that the 4-0 victory your team got at Kilmarnock. Take your paranoia elsewhere. Why were you watching a Rangers game anyway?

Agree0 Disagree0

As a gers fan, I think that if we are going to ever rise above the name calling we should act like adults, yes pay Dunfermilne and yes pay Dundee Utd. Are we big enough to show that even in defeat we are mangnanimous. By taking this course of action we demean ourselves and give our critics more ammunition, all contributors to the fund should make plain to those running the fund that their decision is wrong and we the supporters, should raise head and shoulder above the shambles that has engulfed Ibrox, to prove we re the better people

Agree0 Disagree0

It's a noble move by the RFFF but a sad statement about Rangers that it can't/won't pay Dunfermline their share of the takings. The SPL should really have some kind of rule here forcing clubs to pay or incur penalties - or better still a third party takes the gate receipts for the clubs.

Agree0 Disagree0

Decent thing paying Dunfermline who have never ripped the supporters of any club off. Dundee Utd getting paid - yes but by the club not the fans. They ripped the fans off so the fans have every right to hold a grudge.

Agree0 Disagree0

Does anyone remember Celtic 8-0 Aberdeen ? That's lying down!

Agree0 Disagree0

We'll hear later from SFA as to cost of not paying Dundee Utd.

Agree0 Disagree0

Remember Dunfermline's statement on the day of our administration?

http://www.dafc.co.uk/articles/20120215/dafc-directors-response-to-rangers-fc-administration_2208030_2612217

Fair play RFF. Class act Dunfermline on this. Tough times, but our club remembers these things - and won't forget how one or two other have behaved while we've been down.

Thanks Dunfermline for the support, and I'm delighted the RFF has paid the debt in full.

Dundee Utd? Another story. CVA at 10p in the £ anyone? Enjoy the sly kicks while you can, we'll be back - and stronger...

Agree0 Disagree0

Having donated £100 to the fund, I am pleased to hear that we paid Dunfermline's bill.
From everything I've read about Dundee United, including charging for those tickets for the replay last year, I don't blame the fan's groups for saying NO to paying United. The RFFF has absolutely no obligations to pay for any of Rangers debts just because they feel they're due them.
Be selective, why not? The idea is we're helping the club out.

And it was 9-0 Celtic over Aberdeen btw.

Agree0 Disagree0

Over 30 thousand tickets sold for the lengends game!! Fantastic support

Believable17 Unbelievable14

We just keep fillng cw and dp pockets wake up people

Agree0 Disagree0

Good news. Let's pack out The stadium for Glasgow Rangers

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets get more sold, as close to full as possible, come on only £12

Agree0 Disagree0

Does grey skull not hold over 50k??
Great support KNOT.

Agree0 Disagree0

I was gonna pay at the gate, may just get one before now

J

Agree0 Disagree0

Similar game Celtic sold out 50,000+ Celtic v Leeds veterans with Martin O'Neil and Gordon Strachan as Managers. Some celebrities also. Had Larsson, bobby Petta, etc...

Agree0 Disagree0

Pity you couldn't sell same amount for a home cup tie against Dundee Utd...for loyal read bandwagon

Agree0 Disagree0

Once again. Grow up. N by the way mate it was Celtic v man utd

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtic- turned a ex players testamonial into a charity match for east africa
Rangers-turned a charity match into a profit making venture {Ed001's Note - Rangers did no such thing, the charity were the ones who suggested it and pushed for it! Is it really that difficult to understand?}

Agree0 Disagree0

How many would have attended if Rangers* weren't in administration?

* denotes (in administration)

Agree0 Disagree0

All the money raised should go where it was initially intended to children and cancer sufferers!!! Shame on our Club if it does not!!

SFA Rangers disciplinary hearing tomorrow based on Lord Nimmo Smiths investigation. 2 charges against Whyte, 5 against Rangers.

www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/mar/15/rangers-craig-whyte-sfa-disciplinary

Obviously charges will be upheld. But very tellingly what will the punishments be for these serious offences within the game?

Believable25 Unbelievable10

Whyte will be found not a fit and proper person to hold an office bearers position.
So he will stand down as Rangers Chairman. He will remain owner.
Rangers will be fined £15,000 SFA knowing it will not be paid, 5 penalty point subtraction putting Motherwell into second place.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers IS Whyte and Whyte IS Rangers.
You cannot differentiate between the two.
Whyte is Chairman of the Board and Owner.

Agree0 Disagree0

The SFA should reflect on their own incompetence and failure to check whether Craig Whyte was fit and proper, before they hand out any punishment. But will they ? ... No ! Because they're a joke for a governing body. They're worse than useless.

Agree0 Disagree0

SFA,are old duffers with blazers,a joke outfit trying to run our game,an absolute farce. They have been like that for years, going on junkets, freeloading off the backs of clubs, and fans hard earned money, time for a shake up,we are pot four,in with third world nations, and they must shoulder most of the blame.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its all the SFA's fault and not David Murray who was only going to sell to someone with the club's best interests at heart?

Good to see Rangers fans stepping up and taking responsibility again...

Agree0 Disagree0

SFA will bump Rangers into SFL Div 1.
No messing about. Showing they ARE an independent accountable professional regulatory body with NO inherent questionable links with Rangers.

Agree0 Disagree0

SFA blazers used to be scared of Rangers. Rangers could get individuals punted from their cushy jobs. No more.
Watch the justice handed down righteously.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well done David Murray it's ALL down to you mate.
Can't buy your way out of this mess this time.

Agree0 Disagree0

What have the fans to take responsibility for? Not like they were running the club?

Agree0 Disagree0

What's the point in fining the club for having someone unfit and improper in charge, when there was clearly no attempt by the SFA to check if anyone taking over a club is fit and proper, in the first place !

Talk about closing the stable door after the horse has bolted !

The SFA aren't fit for purpose.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why go out and get a very senior High Court Judge to investigate possible rule breaking if when the transgressors are found guilty you go soft on the punishment? 7 hard punishments for 7 serious transgressions.

Agree0 Disagree0

Slap on the wrists and possibly a points reduction rather than a fine as rangers can pay up. talk of relegating rangers is wishful thinking

Agree0 Disagree0

This talk of a points deduction is laughable. The SFA has no jurisdiction over the SPL, it cannot hand down punishments in that competition...that is for the SPL to do. Otherwise, could the SFA have not said (as a seperate organisation) we will also take 10 points for going into admin, so thats minus 20 you are getting....

The SFA could ban rangers from the Scottish Cup, however, as that is there competition (and may well do over the Dundee Utd unpaid ticket money).

The SFA could also suspend Rangers from the association for a period of time (making them unable to register to play in any professional football competitions in Scotland), however, that wont happen as it will destroy the fabric of the current financial setup in Scotland (i.e., TV deals which is currently major fodder for the smaller clubs).

it'll be a fine and a stern warning. And the SFA will get there money be arressting any prize money due to Rangers in the Scottish Cup, even if they have to collect it over a period of time.

Agree0 Disagree0

The RFFF can pick up the fines as we are not paying Dundee Utd, which is wrong

Agree0 Disagree0

Guilty, Guilty, Guilty, Guilty, Guilty, Guilty and Guilty again on all 7 counts.
Shameful and a disgrace.
The actions of this club has rubbed off and tarnished all of Scottish Football. All of Scottish football deserves an apology.

Agree0 Disagree0

It has to be banned from Scottish Cup as minimum.
Dun Utd ain't gettin paid cause they bumped gers ootta da cup, no other reason.

My concern is we have been told that the structural deficit is £1,000,000 / month or according to cw £10,000,000 / year. If this is so what will the team look like without that extra cash? Murry lost £ 83,000 / week for all the time he was at the helm. Are our saviours going to fork out in the same way , I don't think so? And what happens with the new fair playing rules will the new owners be allowed to sink in large amounts of cash? Worrying times.

Believable11 Unbelievable7

If i'm honest I find it difficult to see how a club like us with a small first team squad can have such high overheads and costs that exceed our revenues by £1 million a month. Part of me thinks this is probably a figure whipped up by Craig Whyte to justify the admin etc. If it genuinely is £1 million then i'd like to see where it comes from, there must be possible cuts.

Agree0 Disagree0

There is no way SDM was paying £12million a year on top of any transfer fees, not a chance

Agree0 Disagree0

If the owner wants to sink money into any club there are no rules that can stop them advertising is a priceless commodity and can be charged accordingly and as it would be classed as Stadium revenue it can then be spent on team {Ed001's Note - not true, there are limits on the amount of advertising that can be sold.}

Agree0 Disagree0

The model has to be changed to a point where Champions league money is not required to break-even. If Rangers had qualified this year administration would not have been necessary unless the BTC found against the club. CW played it smart risking no cash and using a private equity move to finance his purchase. If the BTC went against the club he would enter adminstration but could blame DM and would still be owner once the club restuctured, if the club won the BTC he could have fixed and sold it.

Agree0 Disagree0

David murry lost £100,000,000 during his ownership ! That's £100 million hard to believe we weren't champion league winners.

Agree0 Disagree0

Think about it we were £78 mill in debt mr murray had share issue fan only raised £2 mill very poor mr muray put £50 mill of his own money in debt down to £26 mill under the last board with walter and his backroom staff in charge we won three league titles and still brough t the debt down to £18 mill while paying our tax and all creditors then came the dark lord he pays no debts no taxs and forces us into admin so under the right leaders both on and off thre park we can have success and pay our way so stop the doom and gloom and lets stand with our team

Agree0 Disagree0

You have no such concerns, you are yet another tim with a p**s poor attempt at the wind up. All clubs, not just Rangers , will have to abide by these rules and cut their cloth accordingly. So what?

Agree0 Disagree0

Yawn...... Why are they dragging this rangers nonsense on and on and on....storm in a teacup. ....... . Just sink it and restart now? Oh! A lot of people wouldn't make their money. ..... . Ok I C.

Agree0 Disagree0

Breaking even or maybe even making a profit shouldn't be out of reach. Even if its a loss one year then profit the next. It is possible. It is the btc liability and cva possibilities which will hinder us. The club shouldnt be losing a million a month. It is preposterous. If the Davis' McGregors and Whittakers want too much money then sell them. Survival of club is priority

Agree0 Disagree0

The Directors with their snouts in the swill trough were the problem 400k 600k per year for doing what? Are they still on that? Only 2 got the push. Is Ellis, Dave King, etc... Getting paid?
200 employees, ridiculous, 50 minimum need to go and D&P should have done that immediately. ..... Need to bring in cheaper players. All the above sorts it out.

Agree0 Disagree0

What kind of f'in looney stated murray lost money......

He bought us for peanuts, built a stadium, claimed cash back, sold all the shops, used his own companies for tickets and catering, mortgaged murray parkto get built

Brian Kennedy pulling out if rangers bid and is ready to buy bradford bulls rugby league team, this is FACT.

Believable43 Unbelievable53

What do you mean if Rangers bid?bid for what??

Agree0 Disagree0

Doubt it. Allready owns Sale Sharks

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant own two different rugby teams at once

Agree0 Disagree0

Bulls looking for £1m cash injection within 10 days. Would have thought he could have afforded both.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well must be true, fact is in capitals

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok then if you say its a "FACT" it realy must be. Im won over

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha....these one-liners are good!

Agree0 Disagree0

He already has a rugby club dimwit.away and spout pish somewhere else.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ilove the "this is FACT " bit you must be brian kennedy or live inside his mind

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't want him anyway ! The emir of Qatar is going to save us .then awe youz timothys will be crying in to your bowls of jelly and ice cream #roundyeez .

Agree0 Disagree0

Talking pi5h again timmy boy!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sale Sharks = Rugby Union
Bradford Bulls = Rugby League

Different game so can probably own both...

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes you can sale sharks are rugby union and bradford bulls are rugby league.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldnt be allowed due to already being an owner

Agree0 Disagree0

Source? Ya wee devil that you are!
Stevie-A-Bear

Agree0 Disagree0

Brad Bulls are Rugby League and Sale Sherks are Rugby Union both play in different leagues, one is 13 players and union 15 players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fact my AR*E!

Agree0 Disagree0

He could also own Bulls there playing a different code there is nothing to say you can't own a league and a union team. Harlequins had both last year before the league franchise changed to the London Bronco's this year. Its perfectly legal. The question is do Bradford bulls turn over 35 million a year, are they a global name, the answer is NO.

barra1591

Agree0 Disagree0

So why has his pr man just released a statement on Follow Follow then.
Shamble

Agree0 Disagree0

Sale sharks are rugby union and bradford bulls are rugby league you clown.

Agree0 Disagree0

Doubt we'll be the ones crying. You've been in administration now since feb and no one has made a concrete offer for that shambles of a club ha ha. You'll be crying when it comes out all the offers involve liquidation ha ha

Agree0 Disagree0

Sale sharks are rugby union whereas Bradford Bulls are Rugby League so no conflict if true

Agree0 Disagree0

It doesn't matter if your pipe dream of Qatar comes true, you can only spend what the club brings in, owner can't spend fortunes anymore.

Agree0 Disagree0

He could swap the present gers team with brad bulls, nobody would know the diffrence,

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes we could swap with the bulls and no one would notice. As the bulls would still wipe the floor with Celtic!

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers in admin still too good for Celtic. FACT !

Agree0 Disagree0

Hmmm rangers had 11 men vs celtic's 9 plus no manager and it ended 3-2. Another 5 mins and celtic would have levelled. shows the standard of rangers don't it, could only win against a 9 man team without their manager, and they nearly messed that up ha ha ha

Agree0 Disagree0

The same as celic nearly won the Cup and nearly drew with Rangers nearly means didn't losers WATP

Agree0 Disagree0

But they didn't mess it up .... They gubbed Celtic.

Celtic only have themselves to blame for their lack of discipline and their idiot of a manager, who can't control himself ... Never mind his team.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think from being 3-0 up against 9 men to ending up 3-2 is laughable. Just face it bears the only way you ever win is through cheating and unfair advantages lol

Agree0 Disagree0

League tables never lie, never lied last year won't lie this year.

Agree0 Disagree0

Motherwell supporter. Rangers had 10 men on the field when Celtic scored, not 11. And that was from a penalty won by a player (samaras) who also shouldnt of been on the park & scored by a player (brown) who most definately shouldnt of been on the park for his kick out at aluko!
Celtic got those 2 goals in the last 10 mins when rangers were down to 10 men & got a little complaicent. where were celtic for the other 80 mins? cos from what i saw, rangers were all over you & could of had another 2 or 3 goals

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Mar 2012 12:34:41
Daily Record headline today: Rangers administrators rack up £3m bill ...... And still no sign of buyer.

Believable48 Unbelievable6

Craig Whyte, Gary Withey, Ellis and D&P are all the same firm.
Sound bites in junk press criticising each other is smoke and mirrors. This plan is controlled and rolling out. It is not a shambles. People are making good money through all of this.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah Admin into next season, 10 point deduction.
Fund raising to pay D&P, whilst interest grows on acknowledged debt and isn't getting paid as we're paying D&P.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yet again, more headlines to embarass the club. When will this all end. Never, by the sounds of it. CW appointed these guys. They are dragging the whole affair on & on. Time is money and the more time they take, the more money they make. £3m and rising, rapidly. You can be rest assured that CW will have arranged himself a tidy wee % cut of D&P takings over this whole matter. Red & Black scarves, Union Jack Flags, Milan match. The fans just continue to be fleeced, week after week after week. This behavour is lining someone's pockets and certainly not addressing any debt. What will the next begging bowl be for ? We should stop puting cash in and stand outside the front door and ask for some answers as to what exactly is going on. Its laughable......and getting worse. Cant believe there has been no form of protest whatsoever. We all stand back and empty our pockets. No more from me.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont mean to be pedantic but the article says they could run up a 3million bill if they dont sell before the beginning of next season. Non-story again, dressed up as drama.

Agree0 Disagree0

The raw fact of the whole sordid thing is that nothing surprises me anymore; I bet if you checked into the administrators company details, you will find the good doctor’s name linked there somewhere!
I just don’t understand why, none of these despicable thieving to rags are being taken to task in any great way, no one seems to be bothered, come on boys were are being fleeced hear!!............ Big time.........................

Agree0 Disagree0

Just a question really how can the interest grow on ANY debt after administration?

Agree0 Disagree0

It just does ma Heid in daily. Don't know who the good guys are and who the bad guys are. Totally bewildered. Even the old board who I thought were good guys were bad guys. Confusion. Dunno anymore. Dunno who should own the club one day TBK ok then shambles. Then Kennedy then no. Ticketus nightmare. HMRC nightmare. Feeling guilty if I don't give money, it's torture.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with the second post almost.these guys are certainly making their money has anyone factered in the court costs on top of this

Agree0 Disagree0

The whole sorry saga is like Herpes.... A few lovely wonderful moments and a never ending lifetime of nightmare toxic infection. With zero chance of a cure.

Agree0 Disagree0

Debt and Admin: the contracts and their interest clauses are still in full legal force. It takes a CVA to deal with it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldnt you inflate your charges if you knew for a FACT you would be only be receiving 10P in the POUND

Agree0 Disagree0

Assuming the £3 million is spread over a 6 month period (Feb - August ~180 days), that works out as the club being charged approx £16500 per day (£115K per week). At £654 an hour, this implies there are three D+P staff raking it in at that rate... we are being done over yet again.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldnt pay too much attention to the crap that the DR publishes.

Agree0 Disagree0

"Wouldnt you inflate your charges if you knew for a FACT you would be only be receiving 10P in the POUND"----Wrong !!
Administrators always paid first - before any Pennies in the Pound deal .

Agree0 Disagree0

But still no sign of buyer.

Agree0 Disagree0

D&P emplyees are on 625pounds per hour, plus expenses, which is taken from the cash flow through the club on a weekly basis, a 10 hour day =6250 x 2employees x 7days =87,550pounds plus expenses (hotel accommodation, meals, etc) so on average 90,000 per week, which means just to pay the admin we need to fill Ibrox every week at a minimun cost of 20pounds per person, to make a profit the lowest would be 40pounds per person with no concessions, then to start paying off the other debts the minimum would need to be 90pounds per person per game. It just goes from bad to worse. As a loyal Gers fan, I cannot see a way ahead, perhaps as CW has jsut said viaBBC Radio Scotland , he would rather see liquidation than sell his shares, is now the only way

Agree0 Disagree0

There are a team of 10 working on the Rangers case and staying at hotel in Paisley not all lawyer but still have to be paid

Looks like this could be blackmail

bbc sport

Kilmarnock chairman Michael Johnston on Saturday told BBC Scotland that the 10 other clubs hoped to persuade Rangers to vote for change.
He suggested that Rangers' administrator might require the support of the other 10 clubs in the future as it sought to resolve the club's financial problems.
Johnston thought that the administrator might wish to take a broader "public interest" stance as it attempted to gain support from the public, other clubs and Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs as the club's battle against a major tax bill progresses through the courts.

Its time for rangers to look at thje broader picture ...im a rangers fan and feel that redistribution of tv wealth shoud be undertaken as this would help other teams in the spl to improve not only the quality on the park but also the clubs facilities as well ...time to break up the old regime and start a fresh new era of social inclusion

Agree0 Disagree0

I still think that you will go into liquidation so your vote is irrelevant. If you somehow manage to stay in the SPL then the other ten should resign from it and join the SFL. Then you and Celtic can make millions playing each other every week and win all the votes.

Both of you go to England please!

Agree0 Disagree0

If the ten clubs get there way its a case of the tail wagging the dog.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree clearly the 2 horse race in scotland is what is dragging us back. We will not earn substantial tv for people to sit and watch 2 teams run away with it every week. The reason the EPL have so many veiwers is because no matter what the circumstances any team can beat any other whether the title relys on the top team beating the bottom team it isnt necessarily going to happen. We need a more level playingfield veiwers need to be able to enjoy watching dunfermline play st mirren they have to have the finances to allow them to bring in some sort of quality. Scotland needs to leave behing this route 1 football and start playing the game. This has to be an effort on all parts. That includes everything even bringing through youth for the national team. We have possibly the best national squad for going on 10 years now and the youth needto keep coming. The national team going up the rankings means better co-efficients. Better co-efficients means automatic qualification and european football means more money within the league. The big tv deals go to the leagues with the money to attract quality players and the big tv deals are needed to attract these players its a vicious circle that unfortunatly we have been left out of and the only way to sort it is years of hard work an investment in the correct places and these places i think may just be the other clubs. Should Hearts or Motherwell sit at the top of the SPL for a period of time later in the season this alone would be a media frenzy this is how much of a 2 horse race we have become.

ALL tv interest and revenue is down to old firm. The gate receipts from fans is old firm 85% of income old firm. Euro quotients to get a third team into Europa cup down to old firm. These 10 teams are feeling the pinch in hard economic times and want an unfair and disproportionate share of the income for what they contribute. Make no mistakes it's about directors wanting wage increases. {Ed001's Note - without the rest of the league the Old Firm wouldn't matter! For years the greed of big teams has been destroying the smaller teams all over the world. Only one country has produced a fairly level playing field - Germany - look at how good their league is and the players being produced! The money should be split more equally, Rangers and Celtic will always have an advantage, due to having bigger gates at their home matches, there is no need for any more of one. All it does is produce a weak league when just two teams are so much stronger than all the rest.}

Agree0 Disagree0

To the second reply to my post

do you honestly believe for one moment that Scottish football could survive in any meaningful form without the O F there will be no tv deals from sky who will sponsor the domestic cups and what about gate receipt money and even your own clubs would find it difficult to get shirt sponsors as the sponsors you have now are looking for the exposure playing the O F brings both at ground level and tv Exposure.

i dont necessarily agree with the status quo but you are deluding yourself if you think things will be better without the O F

Agree0 Disagree0

Kilmarnock reported a balance sheet debt of £7m a couple of seasons ago. They've been mismanaged also. Now facing Administration, points deductions, liquidation they're looking to scam money from wherever they can. They know their fans can't give any more so they want to thieve from the old firm. Ungrateful b'stads.

Agree0 Disagree0

A few seasons ago, no Rangers man would entertain this notion. Now it appears from some to be logical and progress. WHY? Methinks some misguided people see this as a way of bringing Celtic lower at a time when we are low. Be careful, this will end us. Or are we already finished so this is bring Celtic down with us?

Agree0 Disagree0

If the wee diddy teams get more money at expense of old firm, u can forget old firm ever paying for the talent to get them into group stages ever again. Watch quotient fall away.
Diddy teams destroying the high level of quality of Scottish football. We need to try somehow to bring the very best international talents here. The more you bring the better the quality, the higher gates, the bigger TV deals. A strategy of homegrown youth is a downward spiral to a meaningless league.

Agree0 Disagree0

I disagree.

Sky want Celtic and Rangers as thats what makes them money, over 1.5 million viewers watched the last game.
Hibs , hearts, killie etc is not worth a jot in viewing terms.
Why should other clubs profit from the main clubs supporters.
Let sky do a deal with all the other 10 spl teams and have a separate contract fro Celtic and rangers. At the end of the day it is the viewing rights of the clubs no one else

Agree0 Disagree0

Wonderful idea, original and simple.
Different SKY contracts.
Other 10 on a generic contract, Old Firm on another covering home and away games. And home teams having old firm visit to pay a weighting fee for having the privilege of Rangers & Celtic fans and teams gracing their grounds. {Ed001's Note - what are you trying to do? No wonder your club is in such a state if that is your attitude! The greed on display is disgusting. Everyone benefits when it is shared, the level of the weaker teams rises, improving the level of competition throughout the league, increasing gates and the chance of progressing in Europe. Keep the money to yourself and you will end up folding when the rest of the league can't afford to run as professional teams and become semi-pro or amateur. Then not even Sky will pay anything for the product.}

Agree0 Disagree0

To improve Scottish football the old firm need to be wealthy to bring in international talent. Scottish lads in the other teams improve their game by playing international guys every other week. Celtic can field say say 9 jntermationals and 2 scots lads at the height of their game. How would a Celtic of 11 scots lads be an improvement? Absolute rubbish. These guys bring in shirt sales and TV audiences worldwide. Money flowing to Scotland.

Agree0 Disagree0

Atlantic league and leave the diddy teams behind in their crumbling stadiums.
If it means leaving Uefa then so be it.

Agree0 Disagree0

All the available top Scottish lads are in the SPL, how would more money to the 10 improve quality? The only way the can improve would be to bring in more internationals who are better than home grown and cost more. Is that what is being countenanced? Richer small SPL clubs with more foreign players squeezing Scots lads out the SPL?

Agree0 Disagree0

How would a Celtic of 11 scots lads be an improvement? Absolute rubbish. These guys bring in shirt sales and TV audiences worldwide. Money flowing to Scotland.
.........................

im a rangers fan but didnt celtic with the european cup with 11 scots in there starting team,
and aint the whole scottish league got weaker since the influx on foreign talent,

currently the best team in europe is barca and they feild regularly 8-9 spanish players, this also helps spain be the best national team in the world aswell,

so call me crazy but there might just be something to be said about teams feilding homegrown talent,

instead of the scots national team players mainly playing in the champsionship in england,

Agree0 Disagree0

I disagree with your comment ed!
Why should the old firm supporters bank roll the other clubs.
We do not support the other clubs, so why should our money be re directed to them?
The current system is fair, I only state this as the smaller clubs want more, after all we are the hand that effectively feeds them! {Ed001's Note - oh ok, you keep being greedy and the whole system will collapse. You are just like one of those greedy fatcats earning millions a year, then moaning when they are asked to pay 50% tax on their earnings to help out those who earn less.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Infact Ed, here is a wee scenario.

Midweek games, Rangers V Motherwell

and Hibs V Celtic

okay lets do maths,

Rangers 750,000 viewers
Motherwell 25,000 viewers
Celtic 750,000 viewers
Hibs 70,000 viewers

okay, Rangers and celtic combined 1.5 million viewers
Motherwell and Hibs 95,000 viewers

Effectivley we can provide 15 x yes 15 x
more viewers than the other clubs.
Am I correct in saying the old firm currently get 40%?

If so thats a good deal for the other clubs considering we contribute 15x more.

Put it to the test. Put all games live on Sky for one week and I bet the old firm still provide more than 3 x more viewers than all the other clubs combined! {Ed001's Note - who gives a rat's arse? Why don't you just get rid of all the other teams then and have an Old Firm league? See how many viewers your greed will get you then!}

Agree0 Disagree0

1 more point ed!
If everyone benefits when it's shared, let everyone else contribute to the marketing costs of the big 2!!!
I do not see them wanting to hand over the million of pounds thats spent each year marketing the old firm, do you? {Ed001's Note - you really make no sense whatsoever. This is just utter nonsense.}

Agree0 Disagree0

A weaker Celtic and Rangers will see more Scots playing outside Scotland for better football better wages and better prospects. The very best lads won't hang about here or come back here.

Agree0 Disagree0

The last time I checked we weren't living in a Communist State.

It makes me sick when others feel they have a right to others good wealth and growth. If you want a bigger slice of the cake you need to put more work in. To get more you need to give more. Build a team create the desire and the fan base. Bring more to the table of football then you will be entitled to get more back.

That's life, work hard and you will be rewarded. the rest of Scottish Football has to work harder not take the easy route and take take take. It's pathetic.

GDog
WATP {Ed001's Note - erm, Rangers and Celtic have always ganged up on the rest to take, take, take. Why should they not start giving back?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Give what back Ed?
You are clearly bias!
I for one do not support anyone other than my team.
I should have the choice where MY money goes and to be honest I do not one penny going to any other club!
The other 10 clubs are like beggars at the last supper. {Ed001's Note - how am I biased? You are the biased one, how idiotic are you making yourself look? I am a Liverpool fan, I don't have bias towards or support any team in Scotland. I am a football fan, and I, unlike you, have spent years studying this and doing research. Accusing other teams of being beggars is incredibly dense right now. How many of them are in admin and trying to wriggle out of paying their dues? There is a damn good reason why the Bundesliga is strong and why those countries, such as England, Italy, Scotland and Spain, that succumbed to the greed of the biggest clubs are seeing their leagues struggle and weaken. It is unsustainable in the long term to run a league without giving an equal share of all outside incomes to each team. It should be seen as a reward for reaching the top flight, not something to be grasped at greedily by the bigger clubs. The bigger clubs earn more money through selling merchandise and having a higher number of folk through the turnstiles every home game. The rest should be shared equally.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Infact Ed!
I hope the Old firm pull the plug on Sky and broadcast all the games from Celtic and rangers TV. The Old firm would rake in a fortune!
Fair is fair, let the rest of the league crack on and do what they wish! {Ed001's Note - what is fair about that? You are selling games featuring other clubs too, do you not think they deserve part of it?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe the wee teams in Scotland can start thinking of ways of filling their stadiums??

Maybe the wee teams can cut the prices of tickets when the old firm come to town and sell out their stadiums maximising gate reciepts.

Maybe the wee teams should contact local schools offering them free tickets and build up a local support like there was up until the mid, to late, 90's

I hate the arguement that the Old Firm are Greedy when these clubs are doing absolutely hee haw to attract their local population to there grounds week in and week out.

Maybe the wee teams should use there vote for 3pm Saturday afternoon football. If they fill there stadiums week in week out, there would be no desperation to seek out the best TV deal and hope for the dreggs. as a sold out stadium every second week would get these clubs more money that what sky offer.

Stop Blaming the Old Firm and labelling them Greedy... As every club in Scotland constantly screws Old Firm Fans by charging almost Double for tickets every away game (and on occasion advertises cheaper prices the following game over the tannoys)

Rikkisixx

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the best way of doing it would be to split the money on a game by game bases

based on which teams are featured on the live sky games,

so if rangers play celtic they split the money 50/50 for that game.

if rangers play dufc they split the money again 50/50.
hearts v motherwell they split it 50/50

and so on, that way the teams selected by sky to be on tv are the ones that get the money for actually being on tv,.

that way each team will get rewarded for what they put in,

if ur on tv once u get paid in respect for that and if ur on tv 20 times u get paid for that.
that way the money would be split in a far way depending on what teams where actually on tv.

and simply if the teams want the money then they just have to make their game the most attractive of the week.

basically teams would get paid for what they put in,

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Ed, I agree with you that it would be for the benefit of the whole league to distibute TV income equally. You need to understand the dynamics here though, you cant call some old firm fans thick for being reluctant to give the clubs more money. Any time we travel to other stadia the prices are doubled and then reduced again for smaller fans. These same clubs open up extra stands because the old firm fill them. All the while the Old Firm fans look over at the oppositions fans and there are barely any.

These same clubs somehow manage to fill out have of Hampden seats any time they make it to a cup final.

Its not as cut and dried as you think, there is definetely an element of truth in the fact that Old Firm fans are exploited by these clubs.

Taking my Rangers hat off for a minute, even distribution WOULD improve the game but you cant really say they deserve it.

I want even distribution. {Ed001's Note - and I agree with you, but to have somebody telling me I don't know what I am talking about because they are too biased to see the benefits it would bring is stupidity. Even distribution needs to include ticket prices, surely the clubs could sort out an agreement whereby everyone gets equal share on condition the ticket prices are also equal?? Instead of trying to fight the other clubs, Celtic and Rangers need to work with them.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair post above.
The problem is, no one wants to watch anything apart from the old Firm. Well maybe the odd Edinburgh derby, and I say odd!
It just shows you, Hibs and dunfermline and the ones pushing this and you would be lucky if they have a combined total of 12 games shown this year!
It is not up to other clubs to give away income to other clubs who just want to sit there and do nothing.
Like I said, the old firm get these deals because the brand/product has been marketed properly and we all know how expensive marketing your brand is.
Like I said ED, let all the clubs contribute to the branding and we can see a fairer split. Further more, if they are shown on SKY 3 times a season enough said! {Ed001's Note - but the other clubs do contribute, they can't contribute effectively because all the money is snapped up by the Old Firm. It is impossible for them to make headway when most of the fans in Scotland will choose one of the Old Firm over their local club.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I like the idea of old firm binning SKY and Rupert Murdoch and going it alone on TV. I've watched old firm games in pubs around the world on big screens through the pubs computer and Internet. It's the future. No SKY middleman, all advertising income to the club directly also. All tv subscriptions to club also. Other SPL clubs can set up their own gv stations also if the business plan is good enough. This is capitalism, the crazy ideas on here would get blown away in the USA. Social responsibility towards other clubs, utter nonsense socialist lost cause. Capitalism!! Get with it or get swept away!! {Ed001's Note - in other words greed is good, right? Sad. I always thought it was about beating other teams on an equal footing, not having so much more money than them it is easy.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Wait a minute Ed!
The old firm pay money for our own clubs to try and buy better players!
We are not taking anything we don't deserve, if anything we are being fleeced still!
I do not pay money so the £5 pound of my ticket or £5 of my sky package goes to 10 other clubs in the SPL. I work for my money and should be entitled in a say where I want to spend it.
If clubs were to get what they truly deserved in terms of income from TV and gate receipts then you will definatley find the current structure is in favour of the 10 other clubs.
I do not mind this, I do mind them wanting more money from the old firm when they do not want to find a solution themselves.

Maybe your not bias but the EPL is! Fact!

The league that is terrified to let the Old firm in for one simple reason!

The Old firm would be bigger and better than any team in England giving the TV money you get.

A bias league, only teams from England and Wales can participate? What a joke! {Ed001's Note - absolute codswallop. The Old Firm are not welcome because of the bigotry and sectarianism that you drag around everywhere with you. Until that is solved you will be unwelcome in any league that doesn't need you. The English Prem doesn't need the Old Firm, so they won't put up with the trouble that the media portrays as coming along with them. Nothing bias about not having Scottish teams in an English league!}

Agree0 Disagree0

No probs Ed! When are liverpool going to stop stealing Celtic songs. Maybe we should charge your fans royalty money for copying Celtic as always! {Ed001's Note - sorry, what songs would they be? I have yet to hear of any songs copyrighted or owned by Celtic. All fans just sing songs they know, usually basing chants around current chart songs. If you are referring to YNWA, then you really should know your history! The first football ground to hear the sound of YNWA was Old Trafford, during the Munich memorial service. So you have no claim to owning a song that was written for a the musical Carousel anyway, and you weren't even close to being the first to sing it.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Currently the OF receive 32% of tv money yet pull in 85% of al viewers total thievery by the gang of ten. Auld firm should ask for beambacks for televised away games open their grounds to the fans of the matchday experience save the fans travelling expenses and make a few bob in gate and catering revenue

Agree0 Disagree0

Does anyone remember the OnDigital deal ... 10 clubs wanted it as it offered more money in the long term, Rangers and Celtic didn't, they wanted the Sky deal even though it was for a shorter period? Look where that one got Scottish football ... another case of the tail wagging the dog!

Agree0 Disagree0

First of all scotland has to develop a football product that tv companies want to buy. At the moment sky are really only paying for the OF games, ill bet they are forced to put on some of the games they do ie. hibs- dunfermline. Lets be honest our league is crap, even foreign players seem to lose their first touch in the mayhem of the spl. We have to go back to basics get kids away from the playstation and into real sport. Any sport will do, doesnt have to be football. Surely the fact that scotland produces 10 morbidly obese kids for each athletic one shows a problem within our culture outside of football having a direct affect on football and other sports.
Anyway my initial point was that tv money should be split equally. Also all the football clubs should be encouraged to support initiatives aimed at making kids more active, possibly not just in football.Hopefully if we could do that then more scottish kids with real talent will start to shine through,
cheers

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed, don't agree with your logic on this one. I'm a Celtic fan and the other clubs are trying to kick Rangers when they are down and bring Celtic down too. Apart from the TV money, how many fans from other clubs turn up at Parkhead or Ibrox. Is it their hard earned cash which is subsidizing the Old Firm, No! But sure as he'll when they are in a Cup Final they all come out of the woodwork wanting extra tickets? The Rangers fans have stood up and been counted with the Home and Away games
since Admin. The away chairmen forget that the only chance they have of a full house or decent TV money is when the Old Firm are in town. Would you give some of your wage to someone who is on less than you just because they are in the same company? You get paid for what you contribute, simple. Mark M {Ed001's Note - it is more akin to playing against a team who is a man short so letting them borrow one of your subs for the match. To make the match more of a contest and more fun. I do agree though, the other clubs do not help themselves, but someone has to step back and make the first move.}

Whenever anyone buys anything they know what they're buying in advance and the quality of the product.
With season tickets we're being asked to fork out in advance for an unknown product, kinda trust me, it'll be ok.
I'd like to know the full squad and assess the players brought in before buying a season ticket, it's logical.

I don't pay for a BMW then over a month later somebody rolls out a vauxhall and I simply shrug the shoulders and go along with that. The current system is nuts! It also probably breaks consumer rights legislation.

Believable28 Unbelievable20

Its the same situation every year tho you dont know what your squad is gonna e after the summer transfer market so either shut up pay ur ticket and support ur team whether its a team of superstars or a team of 16 year olds if they take to the field as glasgow rangers i`ll support them no matter what, if ur not happy with that please give up ur season ticket and dont come back free ur seat up for a real rangers fan to come and support his club!

Agree0 Disagree0

Listen lets just save our club first, who cares bout the squad, p.s i bought a 08 plate 5 series bm and now wish it was a vauxhall.... craig+babybear

Agree0 Disagree0

Easy answer, don't buy one until the start of the season. You will not get the seat of your choice but that's the chance you take. Can I suggest that your club needs all the sales they can get

Agree0 Disagree0

The argument is actually logical for all clubs.
No season ticket sales until the transfer window closes.
No more lads in or out.
Then decide if u like the product.
Losing Jelavic half way through a season you've paid for him all season suggests you should get a % refund.
Perhaps only half season tickets should be sold after each transfer window ( summer & winter).

Agree0 Disagree0

Perhaps European trading standards officers should look into this.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well I must be different to you mate, I go to see rangers to see RANGERS, not to see a team of superstars .your the type of 'fair weather supporter' the club can do without right now. Pennyboy

Agree0 Disagree0

Hectors team will only have youth players registered next season in the third division.....you main pool players will flee like rats from a sinking ship when the transfer window opens on the 1st July.....no one in their right mind would want to play for any team that can't pay their wages.
Forecast for RFC 2012 season tickets sales, 36 games in 3rd Division, ten pound a match, 180 pounds for home season ticket book....available soon from Firhill Stadium the new home of RFC 2012.

Agree0 Disagree0

Perhaps - you should all take a good look at yourselves? The club is struggling & while I am a big believer in value for money, I'd take the hit on my wallet & watch mediocrity if it means Rangers survive.

Agree0 Disagree0

Utter guff, u buy the seat for the season thats it, u dont buy the right to inspect transfers or inspect the facilities, no need for trading standards as the club dont sell it as a certain level of players must or must not be bought.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well thats it then I'm not going on holiday ever again, unless Thomas Cook can guarentee 14 days on sunshine, no Germans stealing a sunbed and at least 3 bl*w jobs!!! wise up ye bumper and support whoever pulls on the famous shirt
sid

Agree0 Disagree0

Whilst I agree that it's about supporting Rangers no matter what & on that basis alone I buy my season ticket every year. However, what happens if we buy a season ticket and are then liquidated, or Craig Whyte returns?? I would feel a bit better if we were bought over/out of admin before they issued the renewals this year

Agree0 Disagree0

So because you don't have a full idea of the team and can't assess the players you're going to not bother with a season ticket.

Fans like you we can do without. You are supposed to be there to support the club.

This reeks of glory hunting.

Agree0 Disagree0

So I'm not a proper Rangers fan if I don't stump up my hard earned cash going into next season with all players leaving in Summer and a 10point deficit cause we're still in Admin?
Get real. No Europe next year and starting 10 points behind !

Agree0 Disagree0

I must admit I don't like it each year when u think u know the product due to the existing squad and then after buying the season ticket key guys I wanted to watch are punted out the door.

Agree0 Disagree0

As a season ticket holder for 25 years even I am hesitant when thinking about renewing for next year because a) ever increasing cost of living b) entertainment value on the park c) potential of our quality players leaving d) probable points deduction at start of season e) reluctant to pay to keep administrators in a job. For what it's worth I think the only realistic solution to this mess is liquidation, there is just too much debt now.

Agree0 Disagree0

With D&P now indicating weeks or months and hopefully before start of new season before any sale could be finalised, doesn't look as though there will be a summer rebuild. Probably more of an exodus than genesis come the summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

Biggest gamble about spending money on season tickets is if the club come out of administration will the new owners honour the tickets?

Likewise, if the club are liquidated then who pockets the cash from ticket sales?

Agree0 Disagree0

U get a season ticket because u support the team through good times and bad. I would advise the poster to not bother getting one.

CJM

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said CJM. Although I'm a Celtic fan guys like this shouldn't be supporting the club. By this guys reckoning I'm owed about 10k in disappointing season ticket monies.

Agree0 Disagree0

Me personally, it's got nothing to do with cost, price, or even who is fielded -I, as a season ticket holder and fan, would still support my team Rangers regardless of who was on the pitch. My issue is, if I agree to pay my 400 and odd quid again this year, probably in May onwards before the season has started, do I know or have any guarantees that my hard earned cash is going to go anywhere near the pocket of the rodent that is Whyte?! That is my stumbling block. Cos I for one, will not pay another single penny to Rangers if I think he is going to benefit. As I say, my personal opinion, and before you all jump on the bandwagon, yes I love my team, yes I contribute, yes I believe and support and am a true fan. But I also gave morals and am not blinkered to the disgust that is happening. I want answers, clarity, trust and honesty before I 'contribute' any further. Now that's FACT! J
