He may be young but has already played in the first team and was being chased by several Premier League teams and ones from the English Championship.
We got him because due to different regulations, English teams couldn’t sign him until September.

Absolutely embarrassing that clown Stewart Robertson says in an interview trust us with your money it will be reinvested in team our signings ate an embarrassment free transfers young boys who are nowhere near readyy for the intensity of playing for our club outwith signing of Hagi this has been a shambles so far and I don't care that transfer window still has lot of time to go we play sheep on Saturday and we are in no better shape than last season so how is that any progress it's not there hasn't been a statement signing it's not good enough and we are virtually giving them 10 in a row without them having to do a thing shameful.

Folk moaning we need Statement signings, the majority of top leagues have literally just finished. Players will get a week or so off before reporting back for the start of next campaigns. The C.V. issues have totally changed the way the summer window will work this season, hence why it’s been extended to October! The only players you were likely to get in over June/ July were free transfers or pre agreements. You’re never getting a marque signing in before the SPFL starts, teams aren’t wanting to sell their ‘statement’ players whilst their seasons are not finished. I’d rather wait a few weeks for a top player than panic into signing Cosgrove or Shankland. It’s far from ideal but due to the circumstances it’s the way it must be. Need to be a bit more patient guys.

So because the lad is 16 everyone assumes we are wasting our money. He has already made his first team debut. Ok won't push 1st team for maybe couple seasons but if we develop him into another morelos that's a lot of profit. Just now including him we have at least 4 cracking young strikers coming through. Look at Ajax they bring top talent into their youth academy, bring the players on to 1st team level then sell on for huge profits. Great business model if you ask me and 1 we should have been using for years. Who was the last player we got decent money for?

I actually think this is a great signing another cracking young talent picking Rangers football club above other top flight English teams

Read about him a few months back and a lot of talent scouts said the boy is going to have a bright future ahead of him

No matter what will get profit from this after hopefully he progresses into a great young player for us

We obviously have money to spend

And I’m sure the first team players the club wants will be here soon

We are just replacing the youths like Kai Kennedy etc that will be leaving with boys that want to be at rangers and 250k is a hell of a lot for a free agent cross border transfer would probably be between the 3-5 million mark in England great business if you ask me give him a 2 year deal with the club getting a option for another 2 year add on in 18month that’s the way it should be done that way in 18 months if he’s good we can put another 2 year on his contract and protect or investment.

Now tony Weston coming up
Charlie Lindsay signed a 3 year professional contract from our youth ranks, heard Gerrard really rates the lad
Along with rest that are already here McPake, Mebude, Paterson, Kai, Mayo to name a few

At least the young squad is looking good

If we can get zunga and a striker for main squad I’ll be happy.

We're signing and already have lots of young talent at the club, but they never get a chance. Every club in England, Portugal and Spain are fielding first teams with an average of 3 players under twenty years old. Should Patterson be in for tav, when our glorious captain admits he can't handle the pressure? Maybe a youngster can. Could he be any worse? Now we're going to be signing another midfielder too. We have about ten defenders now, sixteen midfielders and only Defoe, crocked, alfredo, off as soon as he can and Murphy or Barker, both not trusted by Gerrard as forwards. Am I the only one scratching my head.

Securing Weston is a major plus. The boy has been attracting interest from EPL Sides like Leeds United. As for not being ready for the first team, although I am sure that we have signed him for the future I remember a young lad, Derek Johnstone, making his debut for us at 16, wouldn't mind DJ back in the team now! No one is disagreeing that we need new players especially a striker and a quality midfield player and Gerrard has already highlighted the need for more players. The European Leagues don't open their Transfer Windows until mid August. We can start worrying if we haven't signed two or three quality players by August month end.

We ran Celtic pretty close last season. I don't get the mad panic to buy loads of players. Get the right players. I think a couple of quality signings and we are good to go. Winning is a mentality. Think when we brought greggsy and Davis back the team improved and that is down to having done it before.

Getting bit bored of the whole but this season is huge we must only focus on 1st team. If we target top quality youth we can develop and bring through our own 1st team and dominate for 15 20 years. That's why celtic are still so far ahead. Thry are selling players for big money with big sell on clause. We won't dominate the league until we get closer financially.

We need a minimum of sixteen quality players this season, just to fill the team and the subs bench. Personally I reckon we are still two or three players short. Then we start to look at the squad and I am still not seeing the right level of quality unless some of our youngsters can come in and do a job. We can't afford to repeat the mistakes of the past, bringing in substandard players, not having a youth policy, not having a Scouting System. Gerrard has given us hope. He can bring in young players because they want to play for him, he is attracting good quality youngsters like Weston for the same reason. We will know by the end of August whether the Board are supporting him financially. Hopefully they are.

Well looks as though it could be Cosgrove that's coming. Stevie G called McInness and asked him not include Cosgrove in the squad for Saturday as a bid is forthcoming at some point today. We told them we would match the 2 million that was offered a few weeks ago.

The reason Cosgrove knocked back the French bid is because he knew we were coming in for him. His agent has been speaking to Stevie G on the phone for a few weeks now. Also looks as though we are playing with no striker on Saturday but using a false No9. Stevie told McInnis on the phone call he is trying that new system out against them and Hagi will be in that role.
