Just watching SSN Administrators still giving it the big Liquidation I wish they would hurry up and f*ck off .Saying even with new owner it would probably be in Liquidation

Believable20 Unbelievable7

D&P clearly stated at the weekend that none of the three bidders might get Rangers. That they may liquidate.
They also stated that any of the new owners may choose to liquidate.
This enables a clean slate wiping the debt known and unknown. Unknown debts, to foreign investors in particular are a great risk.
No businessmen will pay £50m to save a football teams history, come on get real.

Agree0 Disagree0

At least the snow is keeping there jelly and ice cream cold. W.A.T.P

Agree0 Disagree0

No new owner will liquidate unless they can stay in the SPL, they would lose more money in 3 years getting back into the SPL than they owe now.

A guy on twitter who runs the Gersnrt site his name is Frankie saying he has info on far east bid saying they want to make rangers a global brand and there is one major foriegn backer all the money is in place to buy club and exit Admin through a CVA all the board will be made up by a UK based business people with experience in Football

I hope all is true

Believable20 Unbelievable57

Did you not think how far fetched and unrealistic this post sounds when you typed it? Im not saying you made this up... well no sorry THATS EXACTLY WHAT I AM SAYING.

Agree0 Disagree0

Frankie sounds desperate to sell his shirts. ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

I Concur.

Agree0 Disagree0

If you dont believe the OP then all you have to do is go to gersnet twitter account. The reason this story is getting any crediabilty is because this Frankie guy has come out with info over the past while which has been true.

I wouldnt right off this frankie guy.

Agree0 Disagree0

It was on his twitter account rst were re-tweeting it last night

Agree0 Disagree0

Absolute nonsense, how do you create global interest in Scottish football outside those exiles and their families who already support Celtic or rangers. No one will spend time watching our league

Agree0 Disagree0

Scottish football doesn't support a "Global Brand" - give us a break.

Agree0 Disagree0

Frankie(@Gernetonline)is the site original poster is talking about. Why say the guy is making it up.

Agree0 Disagree0

How does one go about making Rangers a global brand ?

What are they selling and why should the world buy it ?

Agree0 Disagree0

The sad thing is some fans are waxing on about Far East global branding, and Rangers could be playing Montrose next year in front of 9000 people.

Agree0 Disagree0

Where are Montrose going to get 9000 people?

Agree0 Disagree0

Past Gers directors have said that we can't match the global appeal that the dhims have all over the world, look up the details when we had to nominate people over seas who loved our club.It was a total failure with people that had been nominated complaining because we were sending them stuff through the mail they never wanted.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers is a global name we have fans all around the world

Agree0 Disagree0

The only global sports brand in these islands is ManU. You can't just make one - it has to be earned through winning really BIG TROPHIES and having really FAMOUS PLAYERS in the side.

Sorry, but the occasional Scottish Cup and Alan McGregor simply won't turn heads.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers is a global name we have fans all around the world.
----------------------------------------

I don't think a few ex-pat Rangers fans spread throughout the world can be called a global brand, more like a village brand.

" We Are The Village People " seems cruel but apt in this instance.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hugh Adam tells the truth again, note the date, 2002!!!. Rangers are strictly a West of Scotland team. Fake names sent to the club, more lies and spin. Who really cares if they live or die, they will not be missed

forum.rangersmedia.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=199267

Agree0 Disagree0

Well here we are a thread full of timmy denying the far east bid was genuine. well what do you say now? ger1952

Believable42 Unbelievable17

Aye ! and guess what ! they are even going to pay him !

Agree0 Disagree0

Can he afford it?

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope so the poor guy is about to lose his house. He borrowed to buy his job with Rangers. Then they slashed his wages, so cant pay loan. Good Luck to the boy. He has done us proud.

If Rangers go into liquidation then the following must be asked;

How can the SPL throw out the rule book and allows a new co back into the SPL?

If a new owner was to restart a new co, would it be financially sensible to start in the Scottish Leagues or seek fortunes elsewhere?

Believable16 Unbelievable13

The ball is well and truly burst. this is just the begining of the end for scottish football. debt, debt and more debt. players get paid far too much and unless the world gets a reality check the only way is down.

Agree0 Disagree0

Doncaster is trying to find a way to get a newco parachuted into the SPL, because he thinks this is in the best financial interests of Scottish football.

But this won't sit well with footballing integrity because - at the end of the day - if RFC are liquidated they emerge debt free - and will have secured a sporting advantage through spending money that wasn't available to other clubs, and then leaving these debts behind?
That's cheating plain and simple. The fans may not have intended it, but its hard to argue in this day and age that spending money to win stuff, then not paying your debts, and being parachuted straight back to where doesn't do alot for dignity or fair play.
Worse, most of the debt is owed to the tax man i.e. schools, hospitals etc.

In my view the best thing for the gers in the event of a newco would be SFL3.

the lower leagues would benefit from the money, and grass roots scottish football would improve. The bears would get a good cup run, and have three years winning everything they touch, at the same time as being able to say that they are paying for the mistakes of the past.

3 years, back in the SPL, back in Europe.
Fully rehabilitated. Anything else looks rigged.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with the post above but the thing is will the rest of the SPL chairmen?
They will be thinking money as well, an SPL without Rangers for a few years would mean other clubs taking a hit in that dept.

Agree0 Disagree0

SKY already confirmed contract is dependent on 4 OF games a season.

No Rangers in SPL = no OF games = no SKY money.

Ball well burst indeed!

Agree0 Disagree0

I totally agree. If RFC liquidate then any new team will be just that a new team. Why should they be privileged over every other club in Scotland who aspire to earning a place in the top tier of Scottish football. In the long run it will be better for rangers to earn their way back otherwise they will be eternally tagged as cheats

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers starting in Div3 is not an option, they are simply too big and costly, turnover would plummet to such a low level the business would not be viable.
45,000 fans are not going to Ibrox to watch RFC vs Montrose, no SPL money, no TV money, no Europe money and no major sponsors or advertizing money. Rangers would have the operating costs of an SPL club without the revenue to sustain it. Rangers would run up an enormous debt getting back into the SPL.
The job losses everywhere in the organisation would be savage, possibly more than half the staff and all the players woud have to go, you are not going to pay players more than 1-2k per week to win Div 3-2-1.

It is in the interests of Scottish football that RFC is invited back into the SPL with 3 years of penalties.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers are too big to fail, the SPL cannot survive without Sky money or OF attendances.

The rest of the SPL will vote to re-instate a liquidated Rangers, it is in everyone's interests. Possibly a 3 year penalty point reduction will be agreed.

Agree0 Disagree0

If Rangers are liquidated and a Rangers newco 2012 are opted into the SPL how would a 3 year penalty point reduction work. Surely if they are a newco they have no history and therefor nothing to be penalised for, unless by negotiation they accept a 3 year penalty point reduction in return for keeping their history.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rules can be changed with the appropriate vote/agreement of the other members.

Anything is negotiable - and as the last poster said, the price will probably be annual points penalties for perhaps 3 years rather than a financial inducement (there's no money around anyway).

Agree0 Disagree0

All is in hand, SPL have been in contact with Fifa. this was part of the secret meetings with the other clubs, Fifa have still to sanction this move if they agree and they will. the rule book will be rewritten, Scottish Football will die without Rangers the same deal would be getting Done if it was Septic in our situation.

Agree0 Disagree0

fellow fans been gave some info tonight from not a bad source (but hope it is bad this time) heard we will defo be here till summer and will finish the league off but will hit bad time in the summer and not even writing the word but things ain't going to work out which means we will start next season on -25 points so we can stay in spl. all this is thanks to david murray we can't blame craig w for this troppz mr murray has left the club in ruins. future tv info will back my story up when they expose all the money he has got put away made himself a wealthy man from us fans.

Believable24 Unbelievable28

No chance we will be either in division 3 as a newco or challenging for league been through enough this season would rather be in division 3 and help build us up from scratch as when we there only way is up and we will be back no use being in spl to line pockets of greedy spl teams trying to choke us when we down just think we could be first team in division 3 to do league league cup and scottish cup keep chin up bears
watp

Agree0 Disagree0

This is utter cr@p!
No one has agreed SPL with minus 25 points.
Later this week it will be decided if CVA is even actually possible.

Agree0 Disagree0

If we start in lower division then by the time we are back up the league will be bled dry. how the hell will celtic compete or attract european quality when there will be no title race, no oldfirm games and no sky money. who will travel good distance or pay hard earned cash for a league that is won before it has started.

Agree0 Disagree0

I enjoyed the title races in the 80s with the new firm.

How many times in a workplace does an individual think they are irreplaceable. If Rangers go out of business it may hit finances a little but that will be it.

Agree0 Disagree0

As we know there has to be a proposal made by D&P to creditors by april 10th telling them how the goals of administration are to be achieved ..So what do D&P do?Set a meeting at ibrokes for the 20th april.Clear enough?scotslawthoughts.wordpress.com and theres worse to come.

Agree0 Disagree0

The idea of the 25 point deduction is the most ridiculous solution that they could come up with. How can a new team be sanctioned in this way it is not just.

I believe a new rangers should apply to Div 3. If the decision is taken to maintain a place in the SPL for this new team then it should be on a level playing field. In my view the SFA/SPL will have wilfully decided to alter the rule book. If so let them be in the glare of adverse publicity and don't let them fudge the issue with a points deduction. Let them justify this decision.

I actually think this may be very positive for scottish football. I am not concerned if Celtic cant afford to pay £20,000 a week for championship players then good, bring through the young scottish players. Lets cut the unsustainable wage strutures across the league. If SKY dont want to be involved (of course they will) lets move on, put the fans first and focus on rebuilding our game and being proud of Scottish football and the national team again. Lets start to develop world class players again

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers basic business model is too big and costly for Div 3-2-1, the drop in revenue from all areas would plunge RFC into a debt spiral. Apart from the obvious loss of SPL, Europe, TV and Sponsorship money, the average attendance for 3 years would fall from 45k to 10-15k.

Rangers turnover would drop by 2/3 and they cant cut costs by 2/3, their structure is just too big. No players on more than 1-2k per week, it would be disastrous.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Apr 2012 21:00:38
Rangers will be liquidated by thursday at latest. Prospective buyers outwith the blue knights are happy with this to happen as after 6th april if club goes into liquidation new legislation means the existing debt will need to be taken on with the new owners. In lamens terms if rangers dont liquidate now there is no benefit to put rangers into liquidation after 6th april. Sad but true fellow bears!

Believable21 Unbelievable40

Oh god , here we go again with this new tax law . When it's been postponed till next year , research would be appropriate in this instance .

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats funny cos there was a thing from the singaporean mob earlier on fb staten there moneys there n ready n w8n on a cva being agreed .. n craig s#hyte noo staten he's willen to sell to the blue knights who's now got ticketus involvedn brian kennedy meant to b in with them tae .. is willen to walk away with nothing (as he should do ) no one will let 140 yrs worth of footballin history go away .. w a t p

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it will be Thursday afternoon. One day after the midday final bids are received and then analysed. Club 9 run away winners based on Creditor benefit logic, all above board. Then liquidated.

Only Dr Who can time travel and save us from the dreaded Liquidators.

Agree0 Disagree0

One word - nonsense

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes the tim again! As we know there has to be a proposal made by D&P to creditors telling them how the goals of administration are to be achieved. This needs to happen by april 10th ..So what do D&P do set up a meeting at ibrokes on 20th april.scotslawthoughts again really do your homework and stop listening to made up stories by your own fans.A post also on whyte and how banks might own you again if you try and remove him.Gullible-a dupe .an easily duped person a cheat.sound familiar?

Agree0 Disagree0

The only cert in all this is liquidation. It was CWs plan all along and he will be happy with its progress. /engage your brain, why did CW not even pay this years bills when he could have easily sold a player or two to do so.

Another thing, when the save rangers work hard to raise cash and give it to D&P to help the club on the provision that D&P cannot use this for their fees, don't you see all they do is take their fees from the clubs money and then top that up with your cash.
Rangers cannot and will not be saved. Liquidation is the only option, stop dreaming, you are sleep walking to the clubs demise, wake up.

Agree0 Disagree0

Liquidation is not supposed to benefit the organization going into liquidation (or its owners/ directors) It is meant to benefit the creditors. Loop holes allowing prepacks are immoral and the sooner this practice is halted the better.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Apr 2012 20:51:57
Think Paul Murray and the Blue Knights bid is going to be our best chance to avoid liquidation the more I read about this club 9 and their background and alleged connections to Craig Whyte I don't want them anywhere near Ibrox. If Paul Murray's bid is successful I think we may have a long road back to glory but I would take that any day of the week if the alternative is liquidation. I pray our club safe guards its history.

Gers1986

Rumour is Whyte to hand over shares to TICKETUS not to have his collar felt Whyte has put TICKETUS in an impossible position if Rangers liquidate they get very low percentage of money If they buy into Rangers they will have to make sure we have enough to run the club at a reasonable standard to get the support needed to pay them back over an extended period

Believable10 Unbelievable19

I hope so, if they are tied to us, the deal could be renegotiated to benefit both parties. Ticketus would need a healthy Rangers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Was this not murrays plan from day 1 ! who introdused whyte to ticketus in the first place ! wake up

Agree0 Disagree0

Liquidation is better for Creditors than CVA.

More return for Creditors.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nonsense! Your suggesting a conspiracy involving the Police.

Agree0 Disagree0

Liquidation = more money than CVA for creditors......... NOT!

Agree0 Disagree0

Nice, next time I get done for speeding I will use the CW defence -
M'laud I no longer own the car, please let me off.
Can't see it myself.

Agree0 Disagree0

To post 5. your statement would be true if a company has basically no assets. but we are entirely different ibrox valued @ 75 million by the club in accounts, numerous players, murray park, memorabillia. This is what people just dont understand a newco rangers will have nothing absolutely nothing we have to re-emerge in a CVA and keep our assets. we'll be renting ibrox, renting training facilities e.t.c
People need to realise as paul murray has said liquidation does not help this club in any way shape or form
Barry

Agree0 Disagree0

Ticketus will lose everything if Rangers are liquidated, they have 25 million reasons to make sure a CVA is agreed by all creditors.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ticketus will lose nothing...if the contract is made void lloyd's will be liable for payment and will be your new owners.Do your homework and you,ll see D&P your pr team are not only wrong but liars to boot.

Agree0 Disagree0

But if the contract is not made void then Ticketus will lose out from CVA or liquidation.

That's why it's in their interest to cut their losses and become part of the takeover.

There's a difference between reneging on a contract (which D&P intend to do) and having it made void (which needs a court ruling). Yes, if voided then Lloyds will be sued for the money most likely. Not sure what the legal position is here as the money was handed over in good faith (legally speaking).

Agree0 Disagree0

Ticketus will lose nothing...if the contract is made void lloyd's will be liable for payment and will be your new owners.
----------------------------------------
I have done my homework, Lloyds are not liable, they did not receive 18 million from Ticketus. Ticketus lose in every scenario except part of the Blue Knights, that is why they are prepared to do a deal.
Ticketus are a creditor who may have to sue CW or RFC to get their money back.
Finally if the sale of RFC is void then SDM is the owner of the shares not Lloyds.

SDM could get his club back without an overdraft....lmao.

Ed, or anyone...I have heard a rumour from a freind that rangerstaxcase has been taken down as he was posting scans of public docs online. I know these were public documents but I dont know one way or the other if you are allowed to reproduce them...?? Also the rumour I heard could be a load of Craig Wh*te! {Ed001's Note - if they were public docs, there would be no issue with reproducing them.}

Believable3 Unbelievable13

Just tried to log onto the rangers tax case site and cant get in do you know if it has defo been taken off ed? Cheers

Gers1986 {Ed001's Note - I have no idea, but I wouldn't be surprised if it had been removed, he was making very serious allegations.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Twitter suggests an illegal DDOS attack by someone who is dissaffected with his posts.

Report is it will be back up inside 48hrs.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree0 Disagree0

The website is rubbish should be called celtic tax gloat!

Agree0 Disagree0

DoS attack, not taken down for publishing docs.
RE: Allegations -
a) SDM on EBT - Confirmed out of SDM own mouth.
b) Other directors on EBTs - Confirmed by Baine.
c) EBTs used incorrectly - Confirmed by Baine re-Pay my wage increase as a discretionary payment through EBT.
d) Players on EBTs - Confirmed by Baine and CO.
So serious allegations yes, yet all seem to have an actual source confirming them.

Agree0 Disagree0

Anyone who calls the Rangerstaxcase site as the Celtic gloat site, has not read it or does not understand English.

Because its not called the daily record....it implies facts only, no spin - and its back up.

is it me or are any of these bidders got any real backing?? ive tried to stay positive but we are looking stricken here, potential huge debt upto something like £100m plus and as everyday passes we look worse and worse, theres no money man out there coming to save us, i honestly think we will be pissed down the pan and a new club will be formed, there will be no 140 years of history no matter what people say you cant buy history when your a brand new company, rangers as we know it will die, some of you think restarting is the way forward- i dont it wont be rangers the company may bear a slightly different logo and a wee jinking of the name but we all know its not rangers, this is why i would rather rangers be s**te on the pitch for 20 years and still have the history of struth, smith, mcphail, mccoist, jardine, grieg than be put down and started again- we are what we are- we are the people

I was with you all the way on that post mate until the very last comment. What do you mean "we are the people" I'm intrigued by that slogan. Does it mean you are the master race and if so what Is the criteria for joining said race? Its time for humility mate as you need friends at this time not people outwith your race moved to dance on your grave because of that lack of humility and arrogance!

Agree0 Disagree0

You Can bt your History back in certain circunstances, as fiorentiana (spelling) did as they went into liquidation but bought back the history.

Agree0 Disagree0

Steady on respondee number one...dont confuse the club with the fans...of course we pay out tax or else how would your lot get income support?

Agree0 Disagree0

So much has been said, everyone seems to be an expert or has some inside information. we just need to know what's happening "no more bullsh*t" or arse-covering then we will know where we stand.

Whatever is gonna happen, please happen soon as every day this soap opera drags on makes me want to scream.

someone with balls make some decisions.

Agree0 Disagree0

The British taxpayer must be given most of the credit for any trophies won by Rangers with tax payers money.

I will bewriting to RFC to request replicas of all medals won for my empty trophy cabinet.
P.S. I do not want Rangers liquidated, I just want them to pay the money back they stole from the Queen.

Agree0 Disagree0

We our the people who cheer on the boys in blue a old tune i think marching through georgia original tune nothing sinister here move along

Agree0 Disagree0

The saying " we are the people " will not be heard for some time, something a tad more humble one would hope.

It is unrealistic to expect every British tax payer to be overjoyed with Rangers stealing their money. They may have a point.

News breaking on STV that the St Mirren scandal involving Rangers Company Secretary, Gary Withey is escalating as there are emails involving Craig Whyte and a possible meeting with CW and St Mirren director McGeoch.
Previous denials that CW was involved.

Former sheffield wed chairman talking about club 9 in the dr today, he said the threat of liquidation is only a threat and a bit of a red herring so fans will get onside with any buyer , and that you only liquidate a business if there is no chance of that business of operating any longer and that dosent apply to a giant club like rangers

Believable18 Unbelievable32

Full text of what he said..

“What matters is Rangers, even if they are banned from Europe next year, they can turn over x number of million pounds.

“A business that can do that and can be run to a budget will not be put through liquidation.

“Businesses who go into liquidation are businesses who have no prospect of future revenue. That’s surely not Rangers.

“The fans will live with not winning the league for a couple of years to play a bunch of kids and get the club back on to an even keel.

“It should be easy for Rangers to get a business model that works.â€

How many Bears will still turn out week in week out to watch some 16 year olds running around, no trophies for next few years? That is best scenario with a CVA. Doesnt sound much better than liquidation to be honest, except the history is retained.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nonsense, Rangers debt is toxic and crippling and can't be paid back over 25 years. Only liquidation sorts this mess out ad infinitum.

Agree0 Disagree0

That person needs to get out of England more and find-oot that RFC has a £49m anvil hanging over their heads in addition to the other mammoth debts

Agree0 Disagree0

Meant to have major Media partners FOX SOCCER and ready to include us in compulsory sports package we would probably only get about 40 cents per unit per month but they sell 25mill sports packages a year puts sky to shame problem is that only way out of SPL TV feed the weeds deal is to resign from SPL

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers WILL be liquidated, there is NO doubt about it.
The level of debt and the amount of litigation will make it impossible for any investor to get a return.
When the big bill comes in the total debt could be in excess of 100million, hmrc will have more than 75% and have no remit to agree a cva on tax, vat and paye which alone will be 30 million plus, they can negotiate on fines and interest ( about 30 million ) so even for a cva or agreement at 30p in pound an investor would need to put in around 50 million just to clear the debt and still have whyte to buy the shares from or pay him rent for ibrox and murray park.
There is no way out of this situation except liquidation, it is not possible and if its not right away it will happen over the coming months.
JimDee

Agree0 Disagree0

What do you mean"even if rangers are banned from europe next year??" they ARE banned next year !! they are in admin and have not submitted accounts ffs!!!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

I can't believe you were stupid enough to read that very poorly written article then post the contents as some sort of hope! What the feck does he know about the levels of rangers toxic financial situation? Get a grip mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers are out of Europe next season.

Their approved audited and signed off accounts by executive management and independent accountants were not signed off on 31st March.

Agree0 Disagree0

We do not know all the financial complexities but Ally obviously does, when he states " from a business perspective liquidation is the best option ", then read between the lines.

Why is liquidation the preferred business option if the debts are not huge ?

Spanish newspaper El Mundo is reporting that Sone Aluko is on the verge of signing for Espanyol and trebling his wages in the process.

The statement says although he is enjoying his football in Glasgow the offer from Espanyol is too good to turn down and Rangers cant offer a contract which would tempt him to stay.

Cant say its a shock!

Wee message from friends in USA is that they believe Club 9 see themselves as being administrators first choice.

Where are the Arabian Knights? It's amazing the pi*h Rangers fans have been bottle fed and swallowed swallowed in the last 6 weeks!
And what happened to the late UK bid No. 5?

Agree0 Disagree0

They are, and always were, Craigy Boy and Ellis and D&P have made nice little earners out of this and now North American Wolves will scavenge on what's left of the giant buffalo carcass.

Remember, after Liquidation, club 9 will be secured creditors and owners of the Assets with the newco owing them £25.5million.
Not one bluenose rangers supporting frontman among them.

Who,s to say that club9 have rangers well being at heart get some buck back is all they want
we have been ham strung so that craigy gets to pick what set of liers owns rangers...les

Agree0 Disagree0

Club 9 would not put us into liquidation dependent on their backers. The reason the bilionaire backer pulled out of the sheff wed deal was relegation to league 1.
If they have the schweppes guy back on board do you think he'd want us in Sfl3?
Think we need to find out who's backing them before we shoot them down.

"Where's the fans? u mean the fans that have sold out ibrox while in admin yet celtic in the same position only got 10,000 turning up, or the celtic fans that went back to dressing as green seats when they couldnt win the league yesterday bahaha"

We were never quite in the same position as Rangers ie we never went into administration, weren't diddling the taxman out of millions and didn't have the scottish press trying to sweep all our bad news under the carpet. Yes, we did have 13,000 at some home games but why would we give money to a board/owner who we basically didn't trust. It was these low attendances and the threat of even lower ones that forced the Celtic board at the time to sell up and move on and it helped us in the long run. The fact that the Scottish press were only too willing to tell us what a bad state we were in at the time helped us. If only the same Scottish press were willing or brave enough to let yous bears know what a s##t state your club has been in for the last god knows how many years, then you might not be in such a hole just now.

FORMER Sheffield Wednesday chairman Lee Strafford last night warned Rangers fans they must see the colour of Club 9 Sports’ money before trusting their takeover bid.

The ex-Hillsborough supremo walked away from a proposed deal with the American-based company as he sought investment in the cash-strapped Owls two years ago.

Despite requiring just over £5million to get the club back on to a sound footing, Wednesday fans were wowed by the initial investment indications of around four times that amount from Club 9 with top US owners at their backs.

However, Record Sport understands that when it came time for the final deal, that figure had dwindled to £2m backed only by their own Chicago-based parent company Prometheus.

Wednesday fans quickly dubbed the American company CLOUD 9 Sports and Strafford believes Rangers supporters deserve details of their investors.

Struggling Tranmere also walked away from a sale to Club 9 Sports last June after they switched their attentions from Sheffield.

Club 9 have one of three bids – along with a Singapore-based consortium and Paul Murray’s Blue Knights – that will be considered by this Wednesday’s deadline.

Strafford said: “It’s a very simple situation with those guys.

“The bottom line is – who are the funders behind them?

“My message to the Rangers fans is clear. Rangers fans must ask – where is their investment coming from? They are operators so show us your money.

“If they want Rangers fans to trust them, show them the money.

â€I can imagine Club 9 would be able to attract good investors for an asset such as Rangers.

“But the flag I’d be looking for is that any interested party who has good investors at this stage would find a way of advertising them.â€

Strafford’s concerns come from his experiences of seeing a potentially excellent move for his beloved Wednesday fall apart when it came to the crunch.

During the initial talks, the Owls chief believed one of the major investors in the Club 9 bid was Andrew Hauptman, the billionaire chairman of Andell Holdings and owner of MLS outfit Chicago Fire.

But Hauptman was nowhere to be seen come crunch time and Strafford fears a similar situation could unfold at Rangers.

Record Sport understands that Club 9 have intimated the owners of the New York Yankees might be involved in their Ibrox bid yet with final offers to be viewed by administrators Duff and Phelps by Wednesday, only Prometheus now look like their sole backers.

Strafford delved into the saga at Hillsborough and said: “When we were dealing with them early doors, they had some ‘wealthy but wouldn’t really trust’ and some ‘wealthy and would trust’ people behind them.

“We had Inner Circle Sports (New York Investment Bank) acting for the club and they had personal
relationships with most of the US owners.

“So when Club 9 came up and said they had this or that owner offering to be part of our syndicate, Inner Circle were able to speak to these guys and validate their interest.

“Club 9 with good money behind them are a decent option but Club 9 without good identifiable money is a bit of a gamble.

“Listen, any American managers are impressive compared with most UK people when you first meet.

“Within their group of associates, Club 9 have some knowledgable advisers to US sports owners.

“The question, in Rangers terms, is – what is the colour of their money and who is it coming from?

“To put it in context, one of the prospective syndicate members was someone who had bad history with previous clubs he had owned.

“Another was the owner of the Chicago Fire MLS team (Andrew Hauptman). I might be wrong but this guy is married to the
grand-daughter of the founder of Schweppes. Let’s just say he’s worth a few billion quid.

“Had they done the deal with that person in place, Wednesday would be in the Premiership by now but it wasn’t. There were three stages of Club 9 and Sheffield Wednesday. There was the initial stage when they did nothing wrong and we did because we had the wrong finance details and that caused a delay.

“There there was the second stage where it became obvious that
relegation to League One was a possibility. During that phase, it’s obvious now that Club 9 lost a bunch of better investors, including Hauptman.

“I left at that point and Club 9 tried to buy the club aggressively without demonstrating real investment.

“They moved into a phase of –we’ll take over a sinking ship because that is better than going into adminstration.

“Simply, there was a belt and braces Club 9 with good investors at phase one. At the second phase, there was Club 9 with less impressive investors. Then phase three was a hard, aggressive takeover with no real substance to it. The problem is these guys sit there with owners behind them but unless you can get the clarity of the fund instruction or identity of those owners you are not going to know if it’s a good or bad deal.â€

Duff and Phelps, as well as the fans, must hope for solid investors and Strafford added: “In a normal deal process, you have a period of time where you are selling yourselves trying to attract interest.

“Now, during that process, you tend to test the other party by making them make investments.

“Anyone who is a bulls**tter won’t appoint lawyers to carry out some relatively expensive work.

“Club 9 sailed through all of our tests and we also had Inner Circle sat there. As I said, when Club 9 intimated their potential investors, we were able to identify them and I would imagine the Rangers
administrators would ask Club 9 to identify the investors because they’ll want to speak with them.â€

Strafford is confident from afar that Duff and Phelps’ warning about possible liquidation won’t happen. He said: “My opinion is that liquidation is scare tactics and a red herring.

“It just makes the next owner more acceptable to the fans.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers fans just swallowed lies from Their Directors for decades. Gullible and naive.

Agree0 Disagree0

Think rangers fans need to worry less about so called charity matches and fighting funds that are only helping keep the adminsitrators there a bit longer and bleed them dry, forget about celtic and lennon and get their arses round to ibrox and msm offices and protest as to why they have colluded to keep them in the dark.
start the real fight before its too late, the wool is being pulled over every rangers fans eyes by rangers(ally included) they know whats happening and what must happen but keep feeding the papers rubbish to keep the fans onside and the papers publish.

Agree0 Disagree0

If the Blue knights get the club I have no doubt the club will be safe, so we must all back him as he seems to be our only chance. And if the wee shyster doesn't sell to Murray then we Better call Saul.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the person who commented on Celtic fans not turning up yesterday. There was 57,848 in attendance at Celtic park yesterday. A small pocket of which st Johnstone fans made up. In all honesty I really hope that rangers do not survive this. Erase all your history, bigotry and sectarianism which has been heard over the last few weeks since you have been in admin. Talk about standing by your club, singing all your hate songs just really does sum the lot of you! Just showing yourselves up and showing that you are exactly what has been describe for past few years. Scotland's shame

Agree0 Disagree0

Tut Tut another greeting celtic fan showing himself up, I think you should clean your ears out next time you go to a celtic game. Considering your fans earned your club a fine from u.e.f.a recently, I'm thinking the showing up has come from a little closer to home......Catweazle-talkingbone.

Agree0 Disagree0

'People who live in glass houses should not throw stones' - Some celtic fans take note, and stop jumping on the moral bandwagon - you have an element of your fan base who are no better than ours. The majority of the decent fans from both clubs abhorr this singing and do not condone it. So don't take the holier than thou attitude, as the hypocrisy on here is overwhelming.

Will the big tax case sink Murray group also?

Dave King quoted in BBC Sport yesterday saying he still believes its liquidation. Also says no way Murray was duped by Whyte. ( so calling Murray a liar).

Believable31 Unbelievable5

SDM was hamstrung by the banks repayment demands in 2008-09, why did he not slash the running costs to 40+ millon and avoid any further losses ?

His European dream was over once the bank stepped in, there was nothing to stop him from making the necessary savings at Rangers.

The only logical explanation is that SDM feared the fans would desert a cut price Rangers and they would be unable to make the large overdraft repayments.

Agree0 Disagree0

The guy has had very poor business judgement and Mismanaged the club and the situation.

He was weak.

Too weak to do the strong changes required. He couldn't wind back Rangers and loss face admit the project was over. He was also stupefied by his business losses totally bereft of ideas and stupefied.

He was also in denial rearranging deck chairs as Titanic was sinking.

and if we dont hear anything about who,s taking over tommorow i believe we will be liquidised on wednesday!!

Agree0 Disagree0

D&P can't pay the April salary bills and are just racking up more indebtedness.
Is it true the squad, coaches and youth team are taking cold showers at Murray park? Because the gas is cut off?

Agree0 Disagree0

Regardless as to weather he was duped or not. It was Rangers who were using the EBTS not David Murray, Yes his companies did too but the Tax Man is only intrested in what Rangers did not what Murray was doing well in charge of Rangers its the company not the owners or chairman.

Agree0 Disagree0

Murray was never duped, he is part of this whole sorry mess.
who told whyte about ticketus, rangers have used them for years, any introduction and discussions must have taken place before whyte had control and if so murray must have known as they were discussing a business he still had control of.
murray does do walking away.
jimdee

Agree0 Disagree0

Jim Traynor and Keith Jackson were first to use the 'duped' word. Writing agenda articles in favour of SDM. Later SDM went on TV saying himself he was duped on the day now known a duped Day!

Agree0 Disagree0

Whyte set up two companies called Rsngers at companies house before he even bought rangers.
SDM told him all about Zticketus being used. Whyte had never previously used Ticketus.
The Arsenal shares were highlighted as a possible source of cash.
St Mirren was being looked at in detail by Gary Wihhey/ Craig Whyte.
When Administration was entered SDM stated he was surprised at the mtiming'!!
All per planned.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lloyds were quite happy with the 1 million per year overdraft repayments, so why was SDM so desperate to sell ?

SDM despite his stated position must have always believed they would lose the BTC. I still can't fathom out why he didn't balance the books, why was he still gambling 10 million per year on Champions League group stages roulette ?

His actions just do not match his words.

Just wunt to clarify to people who think a clubs history is worth millions,
In exchange for ibrox = cash
In exchange for players = cash
In exchange for assets = cash
In exchange for history = round of applause,& pat on back
Rangers need hard cash as glorious as your history suggests in terms of your history generating millions is nonsence, its of centimental value
So please stop saying it in terms of hard cash its WORTHLESS,
P.s if its worth all its said to be why has it got you in the mess,

it is being said that Brian Kennedy is back in the frame to takeover the club as he has got more concerned in the last couple of days so he will be looking to put in an improved offer in before wedensday source the sun

campbell

Believable25 Unbelievable44

Anybody. And I Do mean anybody has got to better than Cloud9. Spend 5mins researching them

Agree0 Disagree0

Honestly think Brian Kennedy is going to be very important to our club. He along with Paul Murray seems to want to prevent liquadation, hopefully they can get together and broker some kind of a rescue for our history to remain intact. Small point to add if this tickedus deal is such a problem its only for another two years as the deal was struck pre season so i assume one season of the contract has already been furfilled ,not very good on financial matters but my gut feeling is we need someone like Kennedy, a hard nosed business man who might give us some short term pain but which will gaurentee us long term stability under our original name and keeping our history . Step back in Mr Kennedy you will become a legend if you bring our club back from the edge .

Agree0 Disagree0

Already did research they will not have the club at heart they will sell the lot . Heard that Kennedy is going back in also heard he was locked in talks with souness and smith over the weekend

Agree0 Disagree0

Cloud9 sound like a surefire recepie to see more money friveled away from the Scottish economy and/or stolen from the public purse

Agree0 Disagree0

Kennedy bid 10 million and the americans bid 25 million, these amounts are to go into the CVA pot for creditors.
Don't forget that a CVA has to be agreed and personally I believe it won't and that liquidation will happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

He may well still be in the frame .But I still feel he may be taking over our club when it goes into liquidation

Agree0 Disagree0

Ive said here before Kennedy is still to show his proper hand. he is playing the waiting game something rangers dont have time for. i think thats why D&P made the announcement they did to try force him to show his real intentions

Agree0 Disagree0

In an ideal world we would want kennedy to join up with the blue knights and ensure financial security in our future
only problem standing in the way of this happening is the ticketus deal, if that gets torn up then we could have a great consortium set up who have the clubs best interests at heart

Agree0 Disagree0

Please, please, please......if he saves my club from liquidation i will be eternally grateful to the man and would regard him as the most important man in our history.
J1985

Agree0 Disagree0

The club will be liquidated before anyone makes a serious bid. You have to remember Paul Murray apart, these are businessmen first and foremost. why would you pay a tax bill of £49+ million when you can liquidate the club start up a new one with little debt. Everyone must see that makes financial sense. They dont care about the history, because that will go once RFC die.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kennedy is out. In his words his job is done. He's walked and happy to do so. His job was to increase interest in bidding from others.
P Murray is on record with BBC sport Scotland online as saying he fears rangers cannot exit admjn with a CZvA.
Also on BBC sport Dave King yesterday quoted that it will still be liquidation and he doesn't believe Murray was duped.

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye exactly source the sun means it undoubtedly is Bullocks no quotes just another made up story to fill back pages.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think liquidation threat is bluffing the creditors. Remeber liquidation/newco route means begging for SPL status (almost certainly paying a penalty) and no European football for 3 years. I would hope new owners would see the value in the CVA route

Agree0 Disagree0

Stop. Are you going to believe the S*N?

Agree0 Disagree0

Listen it's NOT about what's best for Rangers or ghr fans. There's £100million owed.

It about what's best for Creditors.

Creditors get more from Liquidation than CVA.

Also new investors need a clean framework of no known and unknown debt. A CVA means years of paying the CVA off. Which nobody wants.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Apr 2012 01:27:58
We all know what Craig whyte is. But Sir D M, I believe in my heart of hearts that he started in a proper manner and his ego and desire got too much , he then got involved with EBTs and the dream continued. He clearly realised that he had to get out and the bank pushed him, just have a look and see how indebted he is to lloyds. They probably knew that thevs**t was about to hit the fan and was made to sell. However he walked away from £18m debt and the knowledge that the tax case was going to come to a head. He would have sold to saddam Hussein just to get rid.
His stewardship of this great club has ended in disaster and his explanation was that he was duped. I think you are the one who has duped, after all he sold £18m debt and up to £50m tax for £1. Pretty good deal for him and his bankers.

Now can anyone tell me why when it is illegal to borrow against a company asset when you don't own that asset, and he has admitted doing that, why has he not had his collar felt by the boys in blue?

Do you think that if I admitted to a crime in the press that I would hear nothing of it, don't think so.

Believable62 Unbelievable5

Dont you ever sit down and wonder why SDM was so frustrated he had done everything with rangers. But his dream was the big one, And you lot know with all your history you never got a sniff of the biggest trophy, But guess what we were the first team on this island to win it,so when you go down in history you dont come close.......b

Agree0 Disagree0

Its called a 'leveraged buy out' and is legal.
Think about it: if you have a mortgage, you've done just the same thing. You took a loan out secured against a house you didn't own. The buyers solicitor will have wanted to see 'your funds' i.e. that you had a mortgage agreement in place that meant you could stump up. When happy, they were paid the money, and they hadn over the keys.
You 'own' the house.
You 'owe' a mortgage, and unless your lender is very stupid, that debt will be secured against the house meaning if you don't repay the loan they can come and take the house off you.. but they don't own the house. You get to live in it. The bank doesn't. If it goes up in value, you make money but the bank doesn't. If it goes down in value, you lose money, but the bank doesn't.

Very similar to what happened with Ticketus and Whyte. Only in this case, he bought the club for 1 pound, and then used the clubs own money (from season ticket sales) to pay off the clubs own debt.(...Don't forget he was buying an £18m debt along with a load of assets!)
The club was a distressed asset when he bought it.

To use an example. You have a car. The list price of the car is £2000. You drive it down the road one day and the gearbox explodes. You take it to a garage and they say it will cost £3000 to fix it.

What is the car worth to you?
Now imagine Rangers was the car, and the Lloyds banking Group debt and Big Tax case uncertainty are the wrecked gear box.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ring that bloody bell! well said! I don't care what team you support, you are spot on! Sir David Murray MUST be held liable for HIS tax liability if he looses. He has done a bunk, Rangers need him NOW!

SDM is presently EXPANDING his worldwide investments! Metal is on the rebound big time! Still acquiring property, wine exports, who knows what else.
He's bouncing back a whole lot lighter!

Him absorbing the tax debt means
Rangers can survive! And come out better for it, in time with Dignity!

Agree0 Disagree0

The money from the leveraged buy out, (mortgage) wasn't used to buy (Rangers).

whyte bought Rangers for a £1!

He used the money to pay off £18 mill of debt, for a company he did not own!

Man its messy! Is it a mortgage or a loan? There are stock market rules for both, and remember whyte was banned for 7 years!

Questions are being raised of Ticketus & the rules on lending to yourself (financial assistance).

whyte was sold to us as a turnaround specialist, RUBBISH he's a liquidator!

And Sir David Murray was well aware of that! They are trading in debt & treating Rangers like a whore.

Oh and he said he was sorry! Well Sir David pull the plug on whyte & give us the support this club needs.

Agree0 Disagree0

Look at the Celtic fan no being able to help themself but have a dig you won the cup at a time when Scottish teams could actually provide a challenge tell you what let's see your team go repeat the feat now then come back n brag

Agree0 Disagree0

The bit I don't fully understand is why SDM didn't do a Ticketus-type deal rather than sell to CW. I know Murray Intl had debt problems of its own but the Rangers part would have been cleared.

The end result may still have been administration but at least CW wouldn't have been involved.

I can only think that there were more problems than just the bank debt, and SDM wanted out.

Agree0 Disagree0

SDM shouldn't and won't write a cheque to make this go away FFS its time some woke and got with the program. The mess belongs to Rangers the club there was a board of directors and the fans were aware of the debt in the audited published accounts. Things change times change and its up to Rangers to sort out this mess now, SDM era should now be in the history books.

Agree0 Disagree0

Could some of the money from the fighting fund be used to find a rangers minded lawyer to look at the whole sorry mess from day one until now.surely it's not just the fans of our club that can see the irregularities of the takeover and now the administration process

Agree0 Disagree0

We won it at a time when Scottish teams could challenge, so where was the mighty rankers then lol. We can just brag about the one time we won it because we know you will never get anywhere near that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Did Minty do a runner cos he had personal liability and had the prospect of HUGE penalties? He must have known that HMRC were looking at their (alleged) wrongful application of Trusts......in addition to the fact that the Club's spending patterns were not sustainable.

Agree0 Disagree0

SDM had no personal securities but Lloyds would not have increased the overdraft to pay the 10 million overspend if RFC failed to get to group stages of CL.
He wanted out because he was unable or unwilling to fund Rangers losses anymore.

Agree0 Disagree0

Craigy boy went to ticketus with a plan to buy a football club.He says to ticketus lend me 24 million i will put it into my bank account.IF i get the football club i will use the money you lent me and pay you back every year with season ticket sales IF i dont get the football club i will give you the money back with interest.
simples innit

Agree0 Disagree0

There was one small irregularity in the administration process which was easily rectified.

I am confused why Rangers fans are unhappy with the performance of the administrators. They can not sell the club without a CVA and this can not be agreed without the outcome of the BTC.
SDM couldn't sell the business for nearly 3 years and finally persuaded some Walter Mitty chump with no money to buy it for a pound.

Agree0 Disagree0

Murray duped whyte!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ask yourself why did SDM and the board not get rid of the high wage earners 2-3 years ago ?

Why were the Rangers fans not told these cuts were necessary to save the club from liquidation ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Could some of the money from the fighting fund be used to find a rangers minded lawyer to look at the whole sorry mess from day one until now.surely it's not just the fans of our club that can see the irregularities of the takeover and now the administration process.... A rangers minded lawyer? What does that mean? Will they find anything, say a celtic minded lawyer wouldn't? The facts are the facts you fool and that is rangers are a toxic financial waste ground who will be liquidated. And you know what even after liquidation rangers will go under for good imo. It may not be next year or the year after but it will happen. You will be reduced to a club capping wages at say 1k per week and in those circumstances you will be at as much risk of relegation as any other small club in the SPL. When is someone from your club or fan base actually going to say sorry for killing the game in this country?

Agree0 Disagree0

Murray said on ssn about 4 weeks ago when asked if he was in the frame to buy the club back , murray answered no but if it got dangerous he would be there to assist

Agree0 Disagree0

Murray will assist only with words or advice etc. he will not put a penny into rangers.
his company is owned by the bank, their annual accounts are late and likely to show some interesting figures now rangers debts have been sold.
these debts were on his accounts but so were ibrox and murray park with crazy valuation of about 150 million.

Agree0 Disagree0

If you check you will find SDM has a notorious reputation for paying fines for late company returns.

His property empire dropped 30% in capital value from 2008 to 2011, he is drowning in debt repayments.

Agree0 Disagree0

"Could some of the money from the fighting fund be used to find a rangers minded lawyer to look at the whole sorry mess from day one until now.surely it's not just the fans of our club that can see the irregularities of the takeover and now the administration process"
