Guys Warburton is gone at the end of the season, this coming from one of the coaches at ibrox, already been told he is leaving, hence his defensive manner in his interview, this why no big signings have been made. Money will be made available to the new manager tho. Only passing on what was said take it how you will but this guy has no reason to lie plus he's been spot on on several occasions.

04 Feb 2017 03:22:34
He won't quit and you can't afford to sack him. Sure it will have a level of spin on it, anything to sell season books, the carrot of 30 million warchest once the magic has gone. @realitycheck @toughtimesahead

04 Feb 2017 06:13:37
Taj, I'll come and work for you, do a sh*** job and not what I am contracted to do, you can sack me and I'll claim a huge pay out
@getintherealworldmate

04 Feb 2017 08:44:26
Bluenose :: if it's true what your saying why would a coach at Murray Park be privy to this information obviously he's told you so he will have told all who will listen then it's right round Murray Park and into the first team if and I'm not saying if results carry on as they are he is sacked I can assure you it would be kept within the boardroom I used to be at Murray Park three to four nights a week and I've heard some rubbish coming from coaches but they certainly would not be privy to information like that

04 Feb 2017 11:58:13
What has he failed to do? Win the league? Currently you are second, you should qualify for Europe and are still in a cup. So whilst he is doing a rubbish job as per your view he is still on track to achieve set targets so if you want to sack him you will need to pay up, simples. you can't afford it! that's reality in the real world you can't just rip up a contract because your unhappy. Remember Ally, Joey Barton?

04 Feb 2017 13:52:00
Tbh I think even if we finish 2nd Warburton will be gone purely because of his style of play, playing in Europe is critical for us and if teams such as Ross County, St Johnstone etc are giving us an extremely hard time then what do you think will happen to us in Europe against far better sides that would win the SPL with their youth sides!

That being said, Warburtons style is a nice style of play. Keeping possession not allowing the other side into the game but he hasn't signed the correct caliber of player to play this style and he isn't utilizing players' best positions (Windass playing in front of the defence, Kenny Miller on the wings, Waghorn on the wings etc) . Instead we have guys like Halliday giving away possession (and goals! ), Kiernan and Tav caught out of position constantly, a lone striker who has to come into his own half for a touch of the ball and no players attacking the 6 yard box for crosses!

04 Feb 2017 14:44:58
Did MW not just sign a new deal last summer worth a lot of £

hes going nowhere. I reckon.

04 Feb 2017 17:46:46
then kiss 2nd place good bye

04 Feb 2017 17:51:43
Heard from a source (dave kings nieces bf who I don't know personally but a friend does) that if a championship club etc comes in with a substantial compensation offer Warburton is off and due to connections and friendship with Dave King the de Boers are being lined up to replace him IF assurances are given about funding the squad and IF we can acquire the relevant uefa licences otherwise my post and this story are a non starter. Just passing on info bears make of it what you will.

04 Feb 2017 19:18:00
What a load of rubbish. Listen Rangers fans get real now. DeBoer or any other quality manager is not arriving at Ibrox. End of season king and Warburton and Weir will go. Parks will take over as Chairman. No investment will live off income. So just start to accept its a long way back. Liquidation does this to you.

04 Feb 2017 20:09:47
It's not just about tactics, it is much more serious than that. He does't have a winning mentality; he doesn't have the right body language and I just don't see him being the motivational type to get the players to go that extra mile for the jersey.

Souness had it at Rangers, Smith definitely had it, both were clever enough to ensure that they would get extra from players, make them believe in themselves and play for the jersey. Personally I believe that there are players at Rangers that, with the right leadership, would thrive at our club. Much as I decry him, played in his correct position and with a Walter Smith in charge I reckon we would see a decent quality player in Halliday, Forrester, Windass and Wilson. With a fellow striker alongside him we might see Garner as a different player. We are then in a position where we only need two or three quality additions, at centre back, holding midfield and we will be right up there challenging for the league. Look at how poor Celtic were under their previous manager and how these same players are now thriving under the exLiverpool guy!

04 Feb 2017 20:46:28
You been on the sauce all day TOMUSA? Can't believe you are praising Halliday. Your always the first to criticise him in your posts (which i enjoy reading) and its usually justified might I add. I agree we do need a few quality additions but have no money to add to the squad and all of the above players you mentioned are not good enough at present to wear the jersey. Don't know who if anyone could get the best out them. We are in a horrible place right now on and off the park and miles away from mounting a serious challenge.

04 Feb 2017 21:43:52
Bears, If Warbs does go at end of season and it is now kinda looking that way. For me the main indicator for thinkin this will happen is not just how much cash King gave Warbs to play with in Jan BUT the fact Hill and Miller have not been given contract extensions for this reason I now think Warbs will go!

The man I would like to see take over is Harry Redknapp, He knows just how big a club Rangers are and I think he would accept the wages we could afford as I think the lure of Ibrox Old Firms and Europe would interest him BUT King would have to garuntee X amount for transfers and wages this I think even for DeBoer would be the main obstacle.

I think players would bust a gut for Redknapp he would demand and get total respect I think he is a better manager tacticly. which for me is the main reason Warbs has suffered this season SO Redknapp or DeBoer. Thoughts on Redknapp Bears although can't see it happening eh

04 Feb 2017 21:52:02
My shortlist as replacements in the summer would read:

Michael o'neill
Frank de boer
Giovanni van bronckhorst
Tommy wright
Derek mcinnes

First 3 a very long shot, last 2 definitely easier to get

04 Feb 2017 22:25:27
Andy1872, i would have harry (houdini) redknapp as rangers manager in a minute! Although i seriously doubt he would come up to manage in scotland!

05 Feb 2017 00:06:15
Wide spectrum of views some less credible I may add. Few quick questions.

1)How long is warbs new bumper deal and who realistically would head hunt him and pay compensation after his relative budget in the spl and what he had achieved with it comparitavily?

2) genuine question on his contract and if he has full control of the football side of things? Does he have the final say on every player?

3) link to Q2. Are there no players that could be picked as targets and approved and offered to MW from a board of football men with an interest and presumably contacts? This elusive king dough could of been spent even if mw couldn't find the players himself to benifit the team.

4) to get a decent manager is there really any incentive to join rangers?

The reason for Q4 and a valid one and it was commented on above. Approval for Europe is still a grey area and rules will have to be bent till breaking point to allow participation. Ashley hanging over and the other finance issues. It is not as simple as saying "the ex Liverpool guy" took over and all was rosey.

BR inherited a squad of underachieving international players lost with no motivation that had talent and value. He also could ask 40k a week which isn't massive but could negotiate a massive bonus for cl/ European participation so he took the jump because he knew the foundations were there and he could have a go.

For me you guys have made the same mistakes over again, allys wages/ team wages, letting crook (s) in and not using those gate recipts properly. The argument of miler and hill getting new deals personifies it. Weir playing till the age he did altered your thinking in a terrible way.

04 Feb 2017 23:45:32
JD90,with all due respect mate, both derek mcinnes and tommy wright are nowhere near good enough to be the glasgow rangers manager! If warburton were to go then we have to get a lot better than those two!

05 Feb 2017 00:15:01
Oh my God! Delusion isn't the word! Your new club is hanging by its fingernails, ' money available in the summer, Frank De Boer, better players, ' Its time the coffee was smelled!

A billionaire with little regard for losing money might fix things, but they are few and far between in our country.

The first step should be accepting that you are no longer Rangers, drop the entitlement, plan for the future with small steps and progress within your means.
Celtic are long gone, forget about us!

05 Feb 2017 00:28:46
Supercoopereleven, Glasgow Rangers no longer exist, other than presently sitting on a desk in a London office, this is the root of your problem, past achievements are now out of reach. Hearts have shown the way from financial difficulty, although they were not Liquidated, the model should be followed!

05 Feb 2017 00:34:44
Would of said this in my initial post. Andy1872 they did bust a gut for mw but weren't as good as they thought. As bad as some englishman think our premier leauge is its a cut above leauge one or teams in leauge two if you push the boat out. Better than a hard as POTY could handle if I remember right.

05 Feb 2017 00:52:47
Bears, I know the current times do not look or feel good, but I really do think that investors are out there. Its not rocket science to realize that investment of around 20m could potentially put u on the road to Champions League money.

Someone or an consortium would know that it would be long team investment BUT there is profits to be mate ALSO the Sports Direct deal WILL finish SO long term investors will be keeping an eye on Rangers the biggest reason why us AND the tic cannot attract major investment and sponsorship is due to the lge we play in!

On another point how much does Killie charge a fan for a game against think it was County? There was around three thousand around same number for other SPFL games BUT surely it god make sense to lower ticket prices even promote the match via posting coupons through bleedin doors that would get adults 10-15 quid kids 5-7 quid Anyways would make our game more attractive I think.

Does anybody know WHEN our TV contract gets renegotiated cause Old Firm should be in the room and start demands. Also need to get this Atlantic lge resurrected should be able to play both instead of breaking away be able to use entire squad and prob actually definitely make SPFL more exciting/ closer!

Anyways back to original point INVESTMENT is out there Bears and WILL come!

05 Feb 2017 02:24:49
Johnnymac I was just passing on info mate not saying I believe it myself but no need to rubbish over rumours when it's a rumours site mate

05 Feb 2017 02:36:09
Supercoop. Is Redknapp available at present?
Also rglen8 POTY?
At end of day lads do u agree that investment is out there AND Rangers are an attractive investment long term when u think that its us and only the tic that can achieve Champions League? the money available via CL surely must tempt someone or an consortium that 20-40m over 2-4 seasons would giv us a great chance to winning title, CL money plus the inevitable income via merchandise is on the table. I'm sure there is somebody who would get a buzz through competing for this Buenos or not, a investor who's into sport and up for a battle can see that this is a viable profitable but long term investment, SERIOUS MONEY!
If only the SPFL could through the other teams involved get a direct qualification to CL with 2nd getting into qualifiers? that said teams like Hearts and the Sheep would actually need to play decent football in Europe! These teams have been an absolute disgrace in Europe but always seem to point finger at Old Firm to blame our co-efficient!
Gonna say it but I reckon Rangers WILL attract an investor in through summer and an substantial one at that, think the tic are going to balls up the treble too, not sayin we'll win it BUT they'll bottle it! BISH BASH BOSH Hear me now ;)

05 Feb 2017 04:16:29
Also though Andy1872 got to mind mate whilst I agree with most of what you're saying can we attract serious investors whilst we still have Cashley looming over us? I personally don't think so which is why I know fine well my early reply on here is a very long shot if that.

05 Feb 2017 05:13:54
Of course investment can be attracted imo, all needs done is for them to sit down with King the Bears etc and discuss future possibility outwith merchandising as worst case scenario is being tied to Ashley for the entire length of contract BUT while knows what's going to happen regarding this as King can't talk about it so cannot inform supporters BUT I keep hearing things about new kit manufacturers? I know it prob won't happen but Ashley may get bored of this and if we attract new investors we may be able to put an offer on the table to they fat rat to take a lump sum and tear up current contract! he isn't making as much as he could even if he renegotiated contract so we got a larger percentage of sales same as any other club but this has turned into personal battle between King and Ashley. and the only thing Ashley can do to hurt King is to hurt Rangers but he is a businessman and if an offer was made and the boredom had crept into that piece of s**t then he may leave and concentrate on his own team

05 Feb 2017 07:43:03
Andy1872 30/ 40million over 3/ 4 years does that money include paying off loans repair the stadium pay off King Ashley and your management dream team? Then there's signing some decent players and how does this consortium make a return on there INVESTMENT as if they wanted a decent return it would leave your team with little money if they EVER qualified for the Champs League. Some people believe in fairies

05 Feb 2017 10:00:13
Harry Redknapp - are you actually having a laugh. I'm not even going to entertain the thought as to why this would be an absolute disaster. If Derek McInnes isn't fit enough to be manager for you then HR certainly isn't.

I'd love the Huddersfield manager David Wagner, possibly Gio is a good shout but he's done quite well with Feyenoord at the moment so that's pie in the sky.

McInnes is probably the safe shot.

05 feb 2017 12:18:08
charles67, glasgow rangers most definitely exist whereas you guys thought and obviously hoped, that we had drew our last breath! well, our heart is still beating, rather slowly just now, but nonetheless beating! a judge has confirmed it, uefa has confirmed it with proof that glasgow rangers are very much the same club, with yes, unbroken history!

they say in life people believe what they want to believe, glasgow rangers are very much alive, and although of course its going to take a bit of time, we will rise without question again and take your crown at the pinnacle of scottish football!

the most successful football club on the planet will get back to the top where we belong! for most of your history, you've always felt and in actual fact been inferior to us! to use our legendary manager's words "we welcome the chase"! the late great bill struts! yes you obsessed lot, have been chasing us for most of your history!

no wonder you think and wanted us dead! so have your day in the sun, because it ain't going to last forever! the famous glasgow rangers are very much alive! you and your cohorts better believe it!

05 Feb 2017 12:24:08
Right Bears. Say I had a factory and a store that made and sold football kits and Rangers came to me and gave me a design. I manufactured kit and the top cost (X) to make, I sell it for (Y) and Rangers get (Z) percent of every top sold.

Maybe I'm wrong but I would think 32Red would be ok with this or poss a new Contract drawn up, but as long as they are being advertised and they do not have to pay any more, I would think they would be ok yeah?

So why if this sounds feasible and so straight forward to me why can we not do something like this? Rangers producing a top by means of setting up a deal with another company to produce and sell the top the lads wear at Wknd!

We don't care who makes it really and we own the crest. Pleas tell me why something like this cannot be done.

05 Feb 2017 12:34:41
Super ally, i have to agree with you regarding huddersfield manager david wagner! I rate him highly and would without doubt take him as rangers manager!

05 Feb 2017 14:26:21
Im enjoying seeing this testing time from a dave king point of veiw this man needs to show his hand soon is he a glib? With empty promises time will tell

05 Feb 2017 14:58:48
Easy Campsie Bhoy. don't think its fairy tales to say that its possible that someone could be keeping an eye on Rangers with a view to invest long term and no matter how much invested over how long. No need to worry Camp boy. ;)

05 Feb 2017 15:02:27
Alright Bears. Just back from posting on the Celtic Rumour Site. nobody there?

05 Feb 2017 15:31:01
Chaz67 u boys needn't worry eh your way ahead financially and have a luvly guy in-man. -. ager Brenda ;) u are lookin good to win the thing wi the 3 cups. Was unfair last yr and one before cause of Ronny. and before that Lenny had other stuff going on wi stuff n that BUT there's nothing to stop u guys adding to your tally of winning 3 cups in ONE season!

05 Feb 2017 16:47:22
I would be surprised if there will be any new investment, especially from Overseas, if King retains control. Indeed I can't believe that Kennedy or others in the UK with serious money would want to invest while King sits as Chairman. Of course, given the magnitude of the job it might be that a consortium would be willing to match King, $ for $ with serious Investment, $25m+, so long as King 's investment was in place at the outset.

People are not deluded in believing that funds are available but everything that has happened over the past five years means that significantly more due diligence will be done before anyone parts with funds.

05 Feb 2017 18:56:42
Well said supercooper! No matter what happens or comes our way, we are and always will be the "the famous Glasgow Rangers" and they they will be forever in our our shadow! We welcome the chase!

06 Feb 2017 02:20:12
Gon4 55, appreciate your comments. As I sit here watching the Super Bowl, where the underdogs are winning primarily because they have their strategy 100% correct I thought I would comment further on why I see the possibility, (no matter how outlandish it might sound), why Halliday and others might actually be different players under a new coach.

I certainly wasn't praising Halliday because I remain hypercritical of him, primarily because I don't feel he is giving 100% and I believe that he lacks guile, however, with a manager that shows more aggression and understands better, what it means to be at Rangers, I have a feeling he would improve. When he played for Bradford, in a more attacking role, he was a decent player albeit nothing brilliant.

The two boys, Crooks and Windass were hailed as two of the best in their league while in England with a number of teams interested in their signature, yet Warburton has failed to develop either of them, (or give them game time) . I reckon that both have potential.

I have been told a number of times that Garner is a decent striker that thrives on the long game and cross balls into the box, two strategies that Warburton doesn't deploy. Dodoo was seen as an up and coming striker but we might never find out since he doesn't get game time! Rossiter, when fit will be quality but the question is, will he ever be fit. We knew that when we signed him but clearly took the risk and so far it is not working.

Forrester is another who showed considerable potential earlier in his career but again he doesn't get game time and he looks to me to be the type of player that needs a 'Walter Smith Father figure' approach, but he does't appear to be favoured by Warburton.

I won't talk about our defence, whatever has happened to Wilson is beyond me, he showed promise first time round and looked the part at Hearts but he has gone backwards at Rangers and the less said on Kiernan the better. Neither Wallace or Tavernier are good defensively and just to add to his problems, Wallace is not a leader and that has an adverse effect on the team.

I want Warburton to succeed but I just don't see how. He is out of his depth at Rangers, principally, in my opinion, because he has failed to understand the mentality that is needed at a Club where being second is not acceptable and playing pretty football is no compensation for failure to secure three points. He might have expected more support from Weir but to be blunt, Weir has been a total waste of a wage!

06 Feb 2017 12:55:02
You are definately in the nacho novo brigade TOMUSA.
