Just heard that Blackpool's northern irish centre half Craig Cathcart is going thru his medical at Murray park as we speak, Cathcart WILL sign a 3 year contract with a further year option and will be on 5k a week wages, it's a done deal, Cathcart is poised to b a Glasgow rangers player, great signing!

Well when Kirk Broadfoot keeps cathcart out of the blackpool team I wouldn't get too excited

This is the guy that can't get a game because of Broadfoot! No thanks!
Agree1

Cathcart is a good player. very solid. he's better than Broadfoot, its just Ince is a s**** manager
Agree1
Disagree1
He has been injured that is why Broadfoot has kept him out
Agree1
Disagree0
Blackpool fan, Cathcart is superb! Ince is not a s*** manager, Cathcart has been injured and so was Evatt, that is why Broadfoot was getting a starting game. You'd be lucky to get a player of Cathcart's calibre!
Agree0
Disagree0
It would take more than 5k a week to get him, maybe 5k to start with, hope he does sign, but I'm selfish and as a NI supporter I want him playing in a better league, we haven't that many players as it is, the ROI steal all the good one's
Agree0
Disagree0
Broadfoot isn't half the player Cathcart is, the guy was injured, Blackpool paid £350,000 for him with add ons when Blackpool were promoted to EPL, Fergy offered him a years contract at Man U, before he sold him on, he's no Jonny Evans but he's a good player

cant believe what i'm away to type here - with my own eyes I just seen Peter Lovenkrands walking into Ibrox? surely not a return - had to do a double take man when I seen it.

Looks like he's contracted til July 2014 (wiki) but no harm in being nosey so sent him a Tweet lol {The Ed039's Note - Under contract until 30th June 2014 with option of further year)
Agree2
Disagree1
Unless Birmingham rip up his contract that won't be happening. Birmingham, are however cost cutting so it is feasible. But at 33 I think we should concentrate on our youth product and not stifle them as has been the case for many a year.
Agree3

What is it with people on here linking us with either ex players or players who are supposedly rangers fans!

Are Aird and gasparotto not from Canada?
Agree2
Disagree0
Done a wee bit of research. he is contracted, though Birmingham have said he and three others are free to leave due to their wages!
Agree1
Disagree0
Most ex players all train at Murray Park to maintain their fitness. His partner is from Scotland, so assume that he is up on holiday.
Agree2
Disagree0
I'd take him back in a minute if it was possible, but I am all for new faces and younger ones at that, it's about building a cracking team to go through every single league through the next few years and won them all in concession!
Agree1
Disagree0
What did he walk straight through the big blue shutter at the front of ibrox? His best trick ever and I thought he was only a one trick pony which was scoring against Celtic.
Agree0
Disagree0
Im sure he would have been walking into Murray park and not ibrox or even just a hotel
Agree0
Disagree0
Lovenkrands still has his house in the north of glasgow. He could have been just been passing by and went in to see old friends. Doubt very much he is coming back.
Agree1
Disagree0
He was probably just passing, his wife os from govan so more than likely in the area and dropped in!

A one trick pony whos only trick was scoring against Celtic - a blueprint for a Rangers hero there! lol, seriously that's a wee bit harsh though, the guy was lightning quick and could dribble and cross a ball. Only criticism was he didn't always chase the ball - he would stand on the touchline and wait for it to come to him to the extent he probably had two white stripes on the bottom of his boots. i'm not one for having all these ex players back but I wouldn't mind him as some of our current squad could learn from his experience. Don't see it though.

Ed do you think there is a possibility of wylde returning? Aberdeen and Motherwell are after him as he is a free agent after leaving Bolton on mutual agreement {The Ed039's Note - No thanks, not very good IMO)
Believable16

I'm in agreement with ed, he ain't very good. He did very little in a rangers jersey and has been found out down south!
Agree2
Disagree0
Wouldn't touch the wee money grabber. glad he's been found out (didn't take long) for the distinctly average player that he is.
Agree1
Disagree0
He had a bit of pace but no skill lost the ball to much and never looked interseted half the time. Had one decent second half against psv. and on the very rare occasion he got past a defender his final ball was terrible. We have better players comming through than him

No Thanks!

he was pretty average tbh he I would rather see barry mckay play before I would want to see wylde back mckay is a superior and younger player imo

Hardly a money grabber. He left at a time when players looked like they were going to be fired, meaning no compensation for him. He tried his luck down south.

It has come to attention that there is 4 new players coming to murray park within the next week. I have been told names but I wouldn't hold my breathe on these players tho.
Alves. He is a brazilian who plays for Santos.
Mangel. He plays in Japen
Castro. He in mexico
And unknown the other.
As I said don't you're breathe. As it just a RUMOUR!
But I do know Castro and Alves out of contract. But I guess thier all out of contract or we couldn't get them.
Believable17
Unbelievable93
Are you talking about Jose Antonio Castro? He's still contracted to Atlante.
Agree0

So Dani Alves, Joe Mangel and Fidel Castro? That'll raise the profile of the club lol
Agree0

Do any of these players have European passports or meet the criteria for non-EU players as far as international appearances are concerned? If not, work permits will be cause difficulties.

No Jaun Castro. I think but as I said it is Rumours. But appartenly 2 are being linked fast as Ally wants them in before they go else where. all players to be in the age rage of 19-23 so I'm not sure.
Agree0
Disagree0
Castro is in Cuba and I know Ally likes to the older player but this would be pushing the limits.
Agree0
Disagree0
It will not happen because rangers can only sign 3 non eu players
Agree0
Disagree0
That'll be Fidel Castro then?
Agree0

Why not dani alves at barca as well. Seriously man where do you get this garbage
Agree1

No mate I heard his name was Fidel?

no its juan guillermo castillo my bad that's the guys name. As I said RUMOURS people not everything is true that you read. F**K if it was then BOYD MILLER AND ALAN HUTTON ARE BACK. So before people fly of the rails hold the fort. It's a rumour that may or may not be true.

And to whom ever posted the non eu players. that is 3. who said the 4th player not british?
Agree0
Disagree0
Tiago Alves from santos, if we get him he will possibly be the signing of the summer. Highly rated in brazil.
Agree0
Disagree0
Just the four Fidel Castro jokes then? They get funnier each time. It's not like Castro is a common last name in Latin countries.
Agree0
Disagree0
Boca and peralta on books, no more non eu players allowed. Step away from your football manager game
Agree0
Disagree0
Why would we sign castillo? he's 35 and still in contract.
Agree0
Disagree0
Rangers have already signed peralta subject to work permit and he's non EU, so the guy who said it won't happen cause of the 3 non eu player rule is correct.
Agree0

"Highly rated in Brazil". Let's see, think I'll try a Scottish 2nd Div club,. Aye Right!
Agree0

Was just about to post Dani Alves, Joe Mangel and Fidel Castro, but I was beaten to the punch. well played sir!

Joe Mangel?

Might be McCourt he is on a free

I would rekon the lad that posted joe mangel? Will be about 20 years old and not old enough to remember to neighbours legend that is joe mangle, with his faithful Labrador bouncer the dog.
Tv has never been the same since Kerry mangle got shot in the duck hunting accident and joe went to pieces.
Joe mangle, we'd have you at Ibrox anytime mate, your a legend!

Rumour doing its round danny wilson contract with hearts to be terminated due to hearts financial problems I would take him back.
Believable26

I would`nt he has done everything in his power to avoid signing for Rangers
putting himself first on every occasion.
He has been badly advised for years let them get on with it away from our club.
Agree1

What has he done to avoid signing?
Agree0

"Putting himself first" what do you think Sandaza, Black, Templeton, etc, etc have done by dropping to play in the lower leagues? Money not the love of Rangers!

Wouldnt touch him he's useless
