As its now looking that its most definitely a done deal, that our new head coach is going to be pedro caixinha, a quick mention about our DOF! Tell ross wilson where to go, as its very clear he doesn't want to come to us! Rangers shouldn't be held waiting in limbo, for any individual!

My 1st choice was tottenham's paul mitchell anyway! A wee pointer i'd like to throw out there to my fellow bears. I truly think that our new portuguese head coach caixinha, should not fall into the same trap as PLG! Unlike le guen did, caixinha should along with his own backroom team, make space for someone who can help him bed into our club and scottish football in general! That man i think should be graeme murty.

This would help him greatly, especially in the infancy of his rangers career! It was without doubt, PLG'S downfall not to have done this! What do you think fellow bears? Graeme murty clearly knows our club all the way through! He'd be a big help to pedro caixinha! It could help greatly, to going a long way for this appointment to be a stirring success!

Super post -

if Ross Wilson doesn't want us we don't want him .

Same for anyone else.

Your suggestion was exactly what Souness did - and he gave us Walter what about harnessing "Barry"?

05 Mar 2017 21:10:48
Great post supercoop. Graeme Murty has been a credit to the club the way he handled what was a thankless task. He would be a great asset to manager.

05 Mar 2017 21:16:54
What are the odds of Graeme Murty becoming assistant to Pedro Caixinha and Kenny Miller replacing Murty as boss of the under 20's?

05 Mar 2017 21:26:12
I agree Thorn, definitely think king Kenny will be involved as a coach in some capacity next season

05 Mar 2017 21:59:34
Agreed, great post. Not who our next boss will be but would love to keep Murty on in some capacity, even as assistant. I think it could only help to have someone there who as a bit of a insight into the club and league. I really like listening to Murty's press conferences as he talks well and is refreshingly honest. I also agree that PLG should have done something similar. He came in with his own ideas about the players he had, the league and the level of player required to win the league and was way of the mark. P. S Not Barry Ferguson for me. Don't think he could offer us anything, well maybe he could offer to pay back his ebt loans he got.

05 Mar 2017 22:02:33
Nonsense, Murty has done alright under trying conditions but get him back the the u20's pronto. The guy is still learning his trade as a coach at that level never mind our first team.

05 Mar 2017 22:42:17
SuperCooper, very harsh on the guy who wants time to think about it. After today's story then can you blame him for not being sure as no one else is sure.
You backed warburton for a full 18 month when everyone could see at end of last season he had his flaws,
you now want to back murty after 2 home wins against st Johnston and Hamiltom. I would hold my judgement till after next weekend because if rangers get a hiding then the knives shall be out for the guy. Very nice lad and speaks well but rangers managerial material I'm not so sure.

05 Mar 2017 22:46:19
Murty has always said that he prefers the development side of the game a think he nows himself he's not ready for that stage and a think he has done well and do think he should get a crack at Celtic next wek agree

05 Mar 2017 22:49:42
Supercooper my view a would like to see murty as no2 but do we no is Pedro is bringing his own no2

05 Mar 2017 23:22:56
People seem to forget Vítor Pereira and pedro caixinha turned down rangers before mw got job because they didn't get promoted!

06 Mar 2017 11:46:35
dont blame him. its hard enoug to get a manager to come to the spl never mind second tier scottish football.

06 Mar 2017 19:16:37
Lance Armstrong, how much time do you want to give ross wilson then mate? A month, what? He's had nearly 2 weeks already my friend and moved the goalposts 3 times within that 2 week time scale, regarding when he was to give us his answer! It looks like he doesn't want to come! Move on and get someone who wants to work for glasgow rangers! End of!

06 Mar 2017 19:56:01
Well least Warburton had the balls to come.

05 Mar 2017 13:53:34
As far as Ashley is concerned, every action has a reaction. So he wants to take control when his brand is close to being advertised around europe (even if it is only a few qualifiers) natural reaction from king is to invest himself to keep ashley away, possibly getting us a team better equipped for the europa league and taking us into the group stages therefore giving sports direct more coverage?

05 Mar 2017 16:53:27
He has no chance from what I hear king and the 3 bears plus club1872 and an other hold over 50% of the club, this is the end for fat man

05 Mar 2017 19:42:48
Not one but every single member of the original investment team could be convinced that the money they invested will never see anything other than failure. Bet365 cash out option of losing only £100 rather than £1000 is Mike Ashley. We have all seen an acca almost there, but know that the final game is a lost cause. let's be real here guys. Investment is investment. The devil could wear blue and pay and not one of us would say a word if we are winning. We talk a big game, but we back it up with very very little. Great support, but we will buy season books a plenty if we are given yet more promises without conformation.

05 Mar 2017 16:07:12
If Ashley is sad to see the state we are in then WHY doesn't he have a merchandise deal in place that would benefit both parties and not feud with King resulting in our financial woes and hence adding to this STATE we are in! The guy is a joke and does not have Rangers best interests at heart. Also does it now look like we are tied to this deal for full duration Bears please let me know if anyone knows what's happening with this?

05 Mar 2017 18:31:51
I hate ashley for what he's done to Rangers but there may be a bit of truth in the face he is wanting to buy out king an invest money I don't no what to think but if he's willing to spend money £30 million just to take control he might just want to take us forward who nos don't trust anyone anymore he could offer more in transfer money than king ever will yes he's a money man but he's willing to invest in Newcastle they will get champions league so if he did take control I think he would spend big to achieve that with us

05 Mar 2017 19:35:18
He doesn't have to buy us for that, Albertz. He could sponsor say, a Rosenborg for instance, who play in Europe every year and sick his rotten logo on their strip for far less.

05 Mar 2017 21:16:27
Can't believe people are even considering Ashley or believes all this bull about he will invest Ashley only thinks of Ashley it would be a total disaster if he was to get his hands on us. All he is thinking is this court case he could lose and have his retail contacts ripped up so from his point of view he thinks spend 30mill take over then I can do what I want. this take over is just to keep his business plans going with no interference at all that's all he wants and with the retail deal he has and getting sports direct probably on are strips with us in Europe. So a one off payment of 30mill for someone of his wealth will be a good deal for that but don't believe for one minute he will invest or look after us not a chance!

06 Mar 2017 03:05:58
King has bought and invested in a side interest that was interest to himself and he lumped it onto his investment. £18m that he spouted to the media has nothing to do with the direct footballing side of rangers. King will argue that he has spent money the club. All he has done has bought parts of the club. He has had numerous opportunities under severe criticism to point to that part of the spreadsheet and say yeah that was me. He hasn't and it would of been his best defence if he could of done that.

06 Mar 2017 11:58:57
All Ashley is doing is making it out that he has the club's best interests at heart to help his case in court!

i'm not going to sit and lecture people here but i will say i have learned my lesson when it comes to the fat rat. he came in took advantage of a major club that was being run into the ground by criminals, therefore by association he is a criminal and is stealing money everyday from rangers pockets.

so why on Earth would anyone believe a guy that has never done anything for Newcastle United except get them relegated and playing worse, and that has stolen from us?

05 Mar 2017 13:21:32
Davies Weird has joined Aston Villa's scouting team. Apparently he ih helping out ex Everton colleague Steve Round.

05 Mar 2017 16:41:49
Good hopefully he'll take some of the dross that he brought to us at the end of the season especially the defenders

05 Mar 2017 00:27:34
Reports claim that pedti is also wanted by club america. if so then i think we have lost him. he said in the past that gers was unfinished business in mexico and he loves it there so looks like we will be waiting even longer for the right appointment.

05 Mar 2017 02:54:47
If he wants to manage in England some day, he's best coming here. I don't know much about him, but if the board are confident that he's the right man, who am I to disagree? If he's willing to lose out on more than £1m to come to us, why would he go back to Mexico? Keep in mind, some people say they want to return to certain clubs and countries but never actually do go back.

05 Mar 2017 09:41:26
By the time our current Board gets round to making a decision and making the appointments he could have retired from football. What is more, no quality manager will come here without a commitment to a serious transfer budget, that will not happen under King.

05 Mar 2017 11:48:51
Davvah a agree with u we don't want him it will never happen the fact alone the he wanted to change the name of ibrox the fans could never for give him dk needs to start showing what his intentions are or if new investors are coming in Wee the fans have a right to no and would like to no his reasons y he's pickin a man that a think he couldn't give a **** about rangers but just useing us as a stepping stone to England

05 Mar 2017 12:30:06
DOF has a say in it, he's to be appointed with coach second to that. Once we know who the DOF is then we'll get the coach.

I think the board are trying their best and making sure they're not rushed into any appointment just to appease some fans who are far too trigger happy.

Have some patience for goodness sake.

05 Mar 2017 18:52:21
TOMUSA, taking a bit of time should not be an issue, of course there is no guarantee that any appointment will be the right one no matter what time you take . Who is king stopping from taking control, is there a billionaire out there waiting to take control maybe a venture capitalist someone like a Craig Whyte or Charles Green, a serious transfer budget won't happen under King. Just what could get us a serious transfer budget, some serious debt. We all want to see better players and success but we need to look at our recent history to see what happens when fiscal control goes out the window.

05 Mar 2017 00:26:49
Mike ashley wants full control of the club, and rid of dave king as he states he can't take rangers forward. If ashley does get full control of the club, he promises to invest heavily in rangers! He has also said he's disgusted by the sad state rangers are in!

05 Mar 2017 01:20:35
So Ashley was a hero, then the biggest turncoat since Mo Jo, now you want him back to invest heavily. Any port in a storm?

Why does king not just bankroll Sevco, pay off Ashley and then spend £20m-£30m on the team. That would be the logical progression?

05 Mar 2017 01:57:21
Listen Ashley would have to sell Newcastle
To have any chance of taking over rangers
And he always said he wanted Newcastle in European
Football and he's finding it hard and spending
A lot of money in the club so if he sells up then moves in to ibrox he is probably garentted European football
Ever year with rangers now he would be good for us
He's good to Newcastle and he nows he wouldn't have to spend anything near to what he is spending with Newcastle so a don't think it would be a bad idea

{Ed001's Note - Ashley is not spending any money on Newcastle. The club is spending its own money. You are right though, he won't do it, he wants to make money, not spend it.}

05 Mar 2017 02:29:23
Any story to stimulate ST sales

05 Mar 2017 02:46:58
Ashley can piss off! He got in before on fake promises, he won't fool the fans again. The guy is a rat, hated by the fans of the club he says he loves (NUFC), he can get to ****.

I have no doubt he is disgusted by the fact we're 3rd in the Premiership, it's a lot better than the 3rd in the Championship that his regime was responsible for, and it could have been worse had King not come in and appointed McCall as interim. Short memories it seems if anyone thinks this guy wants to help us in any way, he wants the money we will get for European Football, that's it.

05 Mar 2017 02:57:10
We need to stay away of him

05 Mar 2017 09:44:07
cprs1
the name is RANGERS

05 Mar 2017 09:45:04
While Ashley was full of empty promises, King is not a lot different. We need a benefactor or a consortium that can help secure us our rightful position in Scottish football

05 Mar 2017 10:31:07
this is going to be a big sumner for the board regarding squad investment and putting the scouting network in place if there is not serious investment in this side of business this summer then king ect may have a lot trouble on there hands with shareholders wanting out and fans question if they have the funds to take us forward.
ashley is beeibg very clever hear and is racking the pressure up on the current board.
was intresting to note that our chairman wasnt even present when conducting manager interviews instead graham park was present with robertson and dickson may park be the source of our funds and king is still trying find his money to invest

05 Mar 2017 10:36:39
I wrote about this recently when the RAT Lambias was spouting off about how bad a state Rangers are in, just everyone cast your mind back to that regime who controlled Rangers before the present board booted them out, they put the club into the state we are in now and will have the same impact on Rangers again, Cashley will not INVEST he will loan money to the club again, same as Newcastle and will get all his loans repaid with interest, I have supported The Gers for 56 years and have my season ticket in Govan Rear, but if the Rat Ashley and his cronies get back in control I will definitely not spend 1 penny of my money to go to that REPTILE AND HIS COMPANY.

05 Mar 2017 11:21:48
ashleys not daft, keep Newcastle get them into PL. milk it for the tv money. don't compete finically with the arabs, the Russians and the Americans for champions league football.

buy rangers, spend £30m to buy them, £30m on players, get into Europe, advertise sports direct all over Europe and even to global tv viewers. then milk rangers for champions league money and make well over his £60m he has too put into us. if I was a billionaire with a sports shop I know what i'd do to make me even richer.

Ps I do think this was his plan all along.

05 Mar 2017 11:44:18
Ashley good for Newcastle get a grip of yourself, and as for ST sales they would be non existant.

06 Mar 2017 00:17:40
I don't understand you people who believe Ashley can be good for the club. Why would a man who is lining (or trying to line) his SD pockets with OUR merchandise now want to invest heavily?

If he genuinely wanted to push Rangers forward he would have done so when he had control. He knew King was gunning for him so he could have appeased the support by ripping up and renegotiate his crappy merchandise deal for starters.

05 Mar 2017 00:25:10
Mike Ashley in 30 million takeover of rangers seemingly not happy at state of club under king.

05 Mar 2017 00:38:14
What state? We have no merchendise revenue no european revenue and yes we are taking our time picking the right man for the job! So?

05 Mar 2017 00:38:45
Like he cares any road

05 Mar 2017 02:53:23
Before you say!
He done he said etc we need money and we are currently up a creek without a paddle!

05 Mar 2017 09:25:28
Club 1872 have to use their nigh on 7% stake in the club to make a stand against the fat pie man. Our voice needs to be heard. Anyway King won't sell out to him. He knows there would be a riot. He hates him just as much as we do.

05 Mar 2017 10:45:27
Ashley? Give me a break. just no no no. merchandise deal speaks for itself. amongst all the other dodgy deals with all his cronies.
