The Hold up is Brighton want £1.4 million for him, whereas We only want to pay £1 million for Murphy up front and pay the other £400,000. after so Many appearances personally i just don't think this stupid board have all the money till they sell) i still think the deal will be done but If not and its a case of yet another one gets, away AGAIN, i won't be renewing my season ticket and no more cup games home or away this season or next until this penny pinching, losing out on good Rangers men players stops, just look, at Moult £400,000 and now Walker £300,000, Just to name a couple, at lost out on them why? Over what should be peanuts to a massive club like ours, no wonder the manky mob and others are laughing at us!

06 Jan 2018 20:34:24
Moult went down south for family reasons never heard we even spoke to him and we tried to buy Walker for 600,000 Hearts wanted 1 million from us . going down south for 300,000 . that's what we are dealing with, nothing to do with the board . Sorry to hear you don't intend going to anymore games based on that bit I'm sure there will be others who will take your tickets .

06 Jan 2018 21:03:51
Well if you ticked the cup games box at the start of the season then at least the club will still get the money off u mate, doesn’t matter if you don’t go or not.

06 Jan 2018 21:29:00
I heard the Brighton manager on Clyde last night, and he was happy enough to let Jamie move up here, he wasn't featuring in any of his squads and they were doing all they could to help the lad move to his heroes. Don't think we have the money for the down payment.

06 Jan 2018 21:51:17
Umad? U seem mad. We don't have the money so we can't spend it. I'm disappointed that we can't secure him permanently just now but hey-ho we can't spend what we don't have. Get over it.

06 Jan 2018 22:06:33
Alex1972, do you realise how lucky you are to be a season ticket holder at Ibrox? Whatever happened to Follow Follow? I for one would love to be able to afford one and there are undoubtedly thousands upon thousands of Bears like me out there. If you must spit the dummy and cut of your nose to spite your face, I'll take your season ticket off your hands

06 Jan 2018 23:04:08
Murphy signed three half year deal says Jim white sky.

07 Jan 2018 01:32:09
Well done the club for getting their man but I understand fully and agree with the guys who are questioning why we haven't got walker at £300 000 or Indeed the young guy from St mirren at similar money. They would have improved our squad and have potential to sell on at a profit when we produced some others from our academy. It shows that we don't have the money. Which is fair enough but just disappointing. I personally, like a lot of others have tried to help by my season ticket, bought shares and bought everything with Rangers fighting fund etc. Because I could and wanted to help. But you get disappointed.

07 Jan 2018 07:50:37
Dunbar Blue, its quite simple mate, why we didn't move for jamie walker and lewis morgan, this january transfer window! We've moved on to other targets that graeme murty and our DOF, prefer instead of them! To start with jamie murphy is streets ahead of both jamie walker and lewis morgan IMO! I never really wanted us to sign jamie walker anyway! I was NEVER totally convinced with signing him and wasn't impressed anytime i watched him playing! With murphy now signed on loan along with young sean goss, i think our next transfer targets will be greg docherty and jordan jones! I like both these players and think they're much better than jamie walker and lewis morgan! I also do hope we purchase another striker! Thoughts guys?

07 Jan 2018 08:46:47
I can not see us getting docherty or jordan jones as we cleary do not have the funds to strengthen this jan and i doubt kilmarnock and hamilton will loan them us that's why we are trying swap hodson for jones

07 Jan 2018 09:54:08
The reason players won’t sign is because other clubs won’t deal with rangers unless they really have to. Clubs are not sure if they will get any transfer money so they want it up front.

07 Jan 2018 17:40:57
Calm down alex1972, it's Jamie Murphy, have a look at his stats mate, no exactly a season changing signing, if he comes very good, if he doesn't who cares, play the young guys who will gel into a great team, ps, any supporter who threatens, I'm giving up my season ticket and no coming back, good riddance, we have been threw far darker days than missing out on Jamie Murphy, get a grip!

08 Jan 2018 00:21:12
Walker is not in his class mate

08 Jan 2018 00:33:38
Dissagree supercooper its not bcos DOF prefers better targets its bcos we literally don't have the dolled to pay for them. Just be loans this window

06 Jan 2018 20:27:44
Anyone know what's happening with Joe Dodoo?

06 Jan 2018 21:51:43
Hopefully we're desperately trying to move him on. Other than that, I think he's back from his loan after a pretty average stint.

07 Jan 2018 00:08:49
Dodoo get rid asap, we have been hoping to long and kidding ourselfs. Another player warburton never took and let's be honest he only took mackay and he never brought him in

07 Jan 2018 21:11:44
Thanks thecampbell, thought his loan was done but didn’t see him in any pics of the squad going to Florida, hopefully he’s been told he can find a new club and his wages put towards a more prolific striker.

06 Jan 2018 18:03:54
Murphy definitely loan deal till end of season then guaranteed option 2 buy, flying out 2 meet squad 2morro.

06 Jan 2018 18:14:45
What a complete and utter farce. Nothing more to say.

06 Jan 2018 18:44:15
why is it a farce?

we did it with steve davis and they did it with roberts - loans are a low risk / ‘try before you buy’ way to see if a player settles in and performs before splashing out big fees and finding out he ain’t up to it it doesn’t settle

kinda wish someone had done it with pena bruno and herrera

if loan works out we have option to make loan perm what’s wrong with that? given some of the dross we need to get rid of, some of whom won’t be easy to move on, I think it’s financially prudent

given our reckless behaviour on that front recently i for one am happy we are not over spending given high wage earners we are trying to offload and soft loans currently in place

board are trying clean up pedros mess and ok they hired him but they’re trying to put things right - i’m ok with that

06 Jan 2018 18:49:43
Totally agree with you Trev.

06 Jan 2018 19:11:30
so you are ok with the board. for making a complete balls up of it and now we have no money whci mean no new players whicm means we are left with dross we started with at the start of the season. let's see what you are saying when dundee, hamilton, beat us

06 Jan 2018 19:44:25
Can't believe some posts on this page. We're building and trying to do it on a safe footing. If we don't have the money we don't have the money, hee haw we can do about it and as there are no billionaires running with their cheque books to buy the club we have to go with what the board are doing. We got kits back, we are looking for new shirt deal for next season. We have a share issue coming up according to the AGM. So mountains of dosh might not be available now. So if they think they can get Docherty cheaper now than they will in the summer, I. e if he keeps performing at a decent level his stock will only rise. Take Murphy on loan then sign him permanent in the summer when the money from the share issue and season ticket renewals will be there. Everyone just needs to get behind the team and calm down

06 Jan 2018 19:59:46
desrfc

We have a million more to spend than we would have had if we had bought Murphy.

If we had done loan deals for Pena, Cardosa, Herrera etc, we would have another 4-5 million to spend.

I think that Murphy will be a success and would probably rather have a permanent deal, but perhaps that is all that Brighton would agree to at this stage. Also, as already stated, we have a million more to spend than we would have if we had bought him.

It doesn't always have to be the Board's fault if the press and then the fan base work themselves into a frenzy over fake news.

06 Jan 2018 20:07:54
and your alternative solution is what des?

see that’s trouble with some supporters they luv a moan but that’s about it. For what it’s worth I am not happy with boards appointment of pedro (I think it was awful) but they are trying to put things right now with murty, jimmy nic and targeting players like murphy. I’m happy with that. folk on here posting about big sam pardew and pulis and morning about us not signing EPL players aren't living in the real world - that’s just my opinion mind you

Fyi having no money is down to previous regimes not current board as without king 3 bears soft loans we’d probably be in admin again.

06 Jan 2018 20:32:54
To be fair this is a completely different scenario than Davis etc that you have quoted! Rangers had agreed a fee with Brighton and now its potentially a loan, why? Have the board now decided we don't have £1m to give? Maybe it's because they will have to pay 50% of Pena's massive wage whilst he's on loan! The point blueger was making is that the board are an absolute shambles and he is 100% bang on!

06 Jan 2018 23:26:32
Who at ibrox said fee was agreed. Folks are criticising the board based on rumour.

If it's a loan, big deal. Maybe he'll try harder to get a permanent one. Win win.

Wish we'd done it with a few more.

06 Jan 2018 14:26:16
Ok lads check out Brighton rumours, it is saying that Murphy to Rangers for 2m. 1m up front and another 1m add on etc, it is also stating that he will fly out to team up with rest of squad, meaning imo that this was a prior arrangement regarding the travelling. I don't think there is a problem with the signing, they are saying he passed a two part medical, and all is rosy for signing of contact.

06 Jan 2018 16:44:59
Latest rumour now that he is coming but only on loan with the option to buy at the end of the season. WTF Rangers

06 Jan 2018 16:58:55
I can exclusively reveal, that the "slight paperwork problem" is that your team have NO PAPER MONEY to give to Brighton lol

06 Jan 2018 17:20:31
Timalloy

You are a funny guy. Your talents are wasted here. Glad that your clever humour managed to elicit a "lol"from yourself.

06 Jan 2018 17:38:54
More interest in Rangers than his own mob.

06 Jan 2018 17:43:13
It looks like he is not far off the mark according to radio Clyde we haven't got the money to pay up front and are now looking at a loan till end of season with a view to buy when share issue has been completed now I don't know how much truth is in this but this stinks of Mcinnes all over again this board need to get a grip

06 Jan 2018 17:55:38
this will make us a laughing stock for 2 days the papers made out he had signed

06 Jan 2018 18:25:03
Get a grip! Did the Board ever state that we are buying Jamie Murphy? The only thing I have seen is Graeme Murty being confident that he will sign.

Negotiations are done in private. Do you really think that the board should give us a blow by blow account of transfer negotiations?

Some people have real thin skins. If you consider us to be a laughing stock, who gives a flying f***!

And all this talk of getting rid of the board? If anyone on here has substantial money and serious corporate experience, then get yourselves on to the board. I suspect that most of the negative posters have neither the resources nor the business acumen to run a window cleaning round, never mind a football club. That does not stop them coming on here and bleating like spoiled kids.

Grow up and lighten up!

06 Jan 2018 19:16:30
keep saying that and if we don't make europe becuase we are skint because the board made a complete balls up with 2 managers that has left us with a heap of dross. YES WELL DONE BOARD; ALSO YOU MENTIONED SKILLS IS THAT WHY KING HAS TO PAY 11 MILL GIVE US A BREAK

06 Jan 2018 20:31:57
If a deal hadn’t been agreed, he wouldn’t have had a medical, someone is only a Monday to Friday kinda guy and it will be sorted next week

06 Jan 2018 21:42:45
des, Dave King is an extremely successful businessman who has already written off around £20 million chasing the dream before Murray sold the club for a quid.

I would rather have King and the rest of the board pulling the strings than some shouty internet poster.

You complain and yet, when you are asked for an alternative you fail to put forward any cogent alternative.

King will only have to find the 11 million if people are stupid enough to sell their shares at less than market value. This has been explained many times.

07 Jan 2018 12:33:31
DK never lost £20 million. If you believe that then you will definitely believe anything.

The Jamie Murphy deal has worked out and there is an OPTION to buy? What if it's not first option and some other club comes in with ACTUAL money or Brighton decide to keep him? You can say that this can't happ en the sure way to ensure that was to buy him. He wanted to come Rangers wanted him no requirement for loan, deal agreed money agreed Rangers don't have enough loan hastily agreed. This is McInnes all over again it's just you can't loan managers from other clubs. It's completely well. .

07 Jan 2018 21:15:12
Orjanpersson i would like to see how much king has personally invested this time a lot of the investment has not been from him this time around.
He has already told a court he has no access to funds while promising the fans that there would be funds for new manager in jan so what one is it can not be both he either has funds or doesnt.

If he is that good a business man he would have knowing to not go over the freshold and he wouldn't have to have made this offer for shares witch i think a lot people couple end up taking this share offer as it will be there only chance to get money back on there investment rite now the shares are worthless we ain't on the market to trade shares and will not be any time soon so this is a out for some investers.

06 Jan 2018 13:38:20
Think Murphy will be a good signing when it gets over the line but would very much like to see a solid Cb signed, if Bruno and Cardoso go then we will be lacking depth, also read that a possible swap with Killie for Jones with lee Hodson going to them, although I think that unlikely I wouldn't mind Hodson leaving as he has been poor but would still leave us light of cover a rb, really need to start growing some decent depth in the team, very few clubs have successful seasons with a depleted squad and having some good quality cover is a huge step to winning the league.

06 Jan 2018 15:04:16
If Hodgson goes the new lad on loan from QPR should provide adequate cover and if Russell Martin comes in too which has been rumoured then he can play full back or centre half so having Alves and Cardoso go wouldn't be too problematic with Wilson and Bates first choice, Martin as cover and McCrorie able to play there if needed. I'd like to see us look at Soutar of Hearts, think the boy is class and would be a terrific signing.

I think we need another wide player (on top or Murphy) , a central midfielder and a striker to partner Morelos. Still think Naismith would be a great signing and could play numerous positions, out wide or through the middle off a main striker or alongside.

06 Jan 2018 16:41:07
Naismith, Murphy and Morelos would be a fantastic front three. Even if Naismith was handled so he is not injured for big games. Windass or
Candeias could play in his place.

If he is willing to go to Killy he canny be asking the world, could even offer him bonuses for games played and goals etc to keep his wage lower with an incentive to play and score.

06 Jan 2018 17:34:59
Camoo

What is the point of getting a player so he can be handled not to be injured for big games? Naismith would still want a decent wage and it’s pointless paying him for weeks on end without playing him. He also has hardly played recently and I doubt he would accept only playing in a handful of big games.

06 Jan 2018 19:43:41
Wilson and Bates first choice centre back pairing, that would be catastrophic!

06 Jan 2018 19:50:40
Rick, when I see your name I know it’s going to be negative 😂. Did you not see Wilson and Bates boss a 50 million quid striker and the thumb?!

06 Jan 2018 20:09:01
I really don't get all this negativity about Alves he has not been that bad and is a solid defender to get rid of him and cardoso to have Martin and Wilson or bates is ridiculous

06 Jan 2018 20:10:54
Surely we could afford more than killy buddy? Why not offer the same wage plus 2k per game and 2k per goal lol

06 Jan 2018 20:18:41
Loving all the collective memory loss when talking about a 0-0 draw. The pumpings dished out to *Rangers* by Hamilton, Dundee, St. Johnstone and Killie are forgotten because players who've largely been utter dug meat for over a year performed in ONE game, in which Celtic had a bad day at the office. Can't wait to see, when they lose their next game, all these newly-crowned world-beaters returning to being classified as horse-dung again.

06 Jan 2018 20:22:16
I wish all this talk about Naismith returning would stop. Rangers are not interested in signing him.

06 Jan 2018 20:26:18
Agee there is some cover at the back with McCrorie and goss but with a few injuries we could be in trouble, I like Wilson and Bates but can be hit or miss in some games, particularly Wilson, great game against Celtic but has been a few games he’s been awful also, would love a really good CV to sign to marshal the defence, agree with Naismith, though he divides opinion I think him behind Fredo would bring a lot of goals and would be a nightmare to defend against

07 Jan 2018 21:16:16
Souttar is a great player but is devoted to Hearts he feels he owes them for taking him from Dundee United

06 Jan 2018 13:11:37
Transfer rumours going about on Twitter that Forest have offered Cummings to Aberdeen, Rangers, Hibs and Hearts. Loan deal until end of season with option to buy. Would love to see the young lad at Rangers.

06 Jan 2018 14:48:49
i reckon cumming wld be great for us - wld luv this to happen. so composed in the box and a great finisher reminds me a bit of mo mo super mo!

timmy STILL ragin bout that one . 😂

06 Jan 2018 16:41:42
Take cummings any day of the week.

06 Jan 2018 20:28:16
See Halliday and MOH in the travelling party. Does anyone have update on Dodoo who has supposedly returned from Charlton.

06 Jan 2018 23:20:11
Cummings would be a great signing he’s 22 years old done well in Scottish football doubt he’d be up for it though

06 Jan 2018 10:41:22
No Alves, Dalcio, Pena, Cardoso or Herrera snapped at the airport this morning. Hodson was there. He needs to be shipped too. O'Halloran and Halliday both there.

06 Jan 2018 11:02:22
Is everyone forgetting how bad Andy Halliday was in his time in the SPL. You would need two hands to count how many goals he shipped through slack play. When he fell over the ball against Hamilton leading to the winning goal he deserved sin died. He was nothing short of brutal. Now everyone seems to think he'l be great. This returning loanee worries me.

06 Jan 2018 11:09:21
Dalcio already back in Portugal end of loan deal

06 Jan 2018 11:20:43
There’s pictures of both Cordoso and Dalcio at the airport

06 Jan 2018 11:21:02
Dalcio n Cardoso wer at the airport. Clearly didn’t look at pictures properly

06 Jan 2018 11:40:55
Herrera on holiday in Mexico, krancjar in us as is windlass

06 Jan 2018 11:41:45
I don't think it is dalcio, is it not atakayi

06 Jan 2018 11:53:15
Alves is injured

06 Jan 2018 12:07:14
Pictures of Dalcio and Candeias on plane to Florida. It is only Nemane who loan is finished.

06 Jan 2018 12:55:58
Halliday the whipping boy already do you recall he was continually played out of position, let's wait and see if he gets played in his correct position before judging

06 Jan 2018 13:19:27
Fifepl. Halliday couldn't call complete a pass last time round and was consistently caught in possession. No matter where you play. A pro footballer should be able to pass and hold onto the ball without causing bedlam in your defence. No offence to him. He's loves the club and has the desire to do well. But I just don't feel he has the quality to be part of the team. If that's all you needed every one of us would be Rangers players.

06 Jan 2018 13:54:12
Jboy dalcio is there with cardoso! Why is dalcio actually there? Thought it was just till jan the loan.

06 Jan 2018 14:35:49
I agree with Nassau, Halliday is a woeful player and people on here really do have short memories if they think he is the answer. We’ve got Barjonas who has shown potential so why do we need Halliday who is a championship player at best. Barjonas will likely get loaned out and then end up being sold all for a player that is “one of our own” 😒

06 Jan 2018 14:38:35
Cool. He was a year loan. I thought we had terminated it

06 Jan 2018 16:04:16
Blue89 I don't see anybody on here saying Halliday is the answer

06 Jan 2018 10:14:37
Any news on Murphy as reports now saying that the deal is hanging in the balance and he wasn't on the Flight to Florida. Also that Kilmarnock are now in for Naismith! I know there's a few fans that wldnt want him back but surely he's the sort of player we're crying out for, he is most definitely a rangers man at heart. Regardless of the way we parted, it's a job first and foremost and he had to look out for himself and his family.

06 Jan 2018 10:24:28
Is it anywonder no scottish club likes doing business with us we muck about so much it is unreal.
Murty wanted players on board for the trip so he could let the team bond and we end up getting one loan player who we have no chance of signing not very good from the board no wonder no onther manger came in before murty.

06 Jan 2018 10:36:56
The board are a shambles as far as i am concerned, And i wanat them out 1 player all targets have been identified ad are hoping to have them go to Florida well murty if yeah listen to the board your as stupid as us listning to them. what was the other thing the mamanger will have a sizeabill transfer budget more shite out of your mouth king you are getting very good at it now. don't be supprised if the board new this was going to happen with Murphy wages it will be, I WANT THAT BOARD OUT YOU ARE MAKING SURE NO ONE WANT TO JOIN US WITH THE WAY THE BUISNESS IS RUN YOUR A EMBARRESEMENT TO RANGERS AND EMBARSEMENT AS A FOOTBALL CLUB

06 Jan 2018 11:05:57
Des,

You want the Board out? For who? Who is going to come in?

They are by no means perfect and I wish they would conduct themselves a bit sharper. However there are no sugar daddies knocking down our door. Fact is there is the chance that if it wasn't for King and Co we may have not had a club at all by now.

06 Jan 2018 11:29:19
To many fans with short memories.

06 Jan 2018 11:29:54
What has the board done wrong here, it could as already reported be Brighton holding things up or the player who hasn't played in ages has failed his medical either way that isn't the boards fault, I think the best thing that we can do is wait and see. I sincerely hope that jamie murphy will be a rangers player soon

06 Jan 2018 11:50:49
I know we all luv a moan bears, but seriously calm down!

Lay off the club and board for a bit and have some faith. I’ve been told by a reliable source murphy will still sign and fly out to florida. Deals been agreed medical passed etc just a few paperwork details from English FA and BHA still to be ironed out. Ok he’s not signed yet but it should still go through.

Pena out and murphy in is a good start so let’s build on results at pittodrie easter road and parkhead and try not to focus on negatives so much. Ok we’ve lost some games we shouldn’t have but it’s Murtys first proper role as manager he’s going to get few things wrong let’s give him and the team the backing they need. Some decent youngsters coming though in mcrorie bates and barjonas fee others on the fringes too. Murty has tightened us up at the back and players have more desire and passion to play for the jersey and each other - that’ll do for me

06 Jan 2018 11:56:19
@gary75 just read your post back, "Brighton holding things up" or "failed medical" truth is Brighton rejected your 50pence per week offer lol

06 Jan 2018 12:08:47
prepared to come back on once he’s signed and retract that timmy?

your fans obsession with my club is bordering on ridiculous

06 Jan 2018 12:51:41
Apparently Naismith has a well known knee problem and if it goes he could be out a long time. Similar situation we had with kranjkar we took a risk and his knee went after a couple of months

06 Jan 2018 13:33:13
Exaectly Trev👍🏼

The fact they are charging 30 quid in the Kerrydale Suite inside Parkhesd to watch a film about Rangers financial meltdown tells you all you need to know about his mob.

06 Jan 2018 13:51:08
The problem is apparently regarding paperwork at Brighton, can't see how that's us mucking about . The majority of teams in Scotland have a dislike for us and hold us to ransom, look at Hearts, Aberdeen, Hibs etc. tbey have all done it. Too many people quick to blame the board who are AGAIN sanctioning more transfers and reshaping of the team . The strategy for me is correct this time .

06 Jan 2018 13:56:19
Exactly bluegenius who is going to replace them stop your moaning.

06 Jan 2018 15:05:55
Don't know who would replace the current board but the fans have a right to complain. We might not be as badly run as the green, Whyte days but some of the capers the last few years? Wasted millions, signing pedro, the Mexicans. The wages mentioned for some of these players. (they can't be right, surely)

06 Jan 2018 10:09:20
looks like the murphy deal is about to collapse

06 Jan 2018 10:51:26
Brighton holding up things with paperwork supposedly where does it say it’s about to collapse

06 Jan 2018 01:00:43
Atletico Mineiro are going to play their b team against us. hope we go all out full strength against them lol. let them know that we take no tournament lightly. i want to win this cup friendly or not.

06 Jan 2018 03:44:06
😂😂😂😂 your hoping to win a tournament against kids. they will probably beat the Mighty Rangers 🤦🏼‍♂️

06 Jan 2018 13:25:05
Every tournament played in America with euro teams is full of kids. They are merely a money making PR excercise.
