Gary Rowett confirms he has been interviewed for the rangers job!

06 Mar 2017 22:12:10
No, read the whole story, he simply confirms he had a meeting with rangers and says that it doesn't mean he was interviewed about the managers job

06 Mar 2017 22:53:30
Paulo Bento been sacked from Olympiakos, he would be cracking manager for Rangers and don't think he would be out of our reach.

06 Mar 2017 22:56:35
Should not of even had that why is he on the short list if we actually went for him as are new manager what a disappointment that would be all this wait then it's Gary rowett! would go down with me like a fart in church.

07 Mar 2017 06:26:47
Agree totally Rowatt has won nothing and us still relatively inexperienced as a manager, Not what we need

07 Mar 2017 11:04:34
Nice guy with loads of potential. However, we can't afford another "on the job learning " manager. We need experience, leadership, desire and a passion for winning.

07 Mar 2017 13:47:08
ive heard that pedro is like klopf he likes his team to attack but aslo likes to defend as a team and have every player shutting down the ball so our guys would get better at passing and moving even though they are not too bad at that the now and most importantly they will be defending as a team what we haven't done in a few years

07 Mar 2017 13:53:19
Well that rules pedro caixinha out. You do realise gary rowett has managed more games than caixinha.

07 Mar 2017 14:49:09
apart from alex mccleish nobody on our shortlist has managed a big club so everyones a risky appointment personally i feel ecks time has passed i like gary rowatt done a great job at both burton and birmingham on a limited budget which i feel is how he would be working if he came to us people saying they don't want him because he has won nothing well neither had their manager across the city no matter who comes its going to be a risky appointment

07 Mar 2017 15:02:19
I like Rowett's ideas, he has specific tactics for certain scenarios during a match, how the game is going go scorewise.

07 Mar 2017 15:41:58
hooley, mark hughs has managed more games than both of them put together but that doesn't make him a better manager also pedro has taken a team into cncacaf final (sorry bout the spelling)
which is the equivalent to the champions league not as big name teams in it but very high quality!

now let's be fair if we got a top top manager that would cost us the same as brenda costs them that money would come off of our transfer budget, which isn't massive as it is.

we need to get behind whoever the board appoint as anything else will harm our great club

07 Mar 2017 16:52:08
Time to face facts - we are not a BIG team anymore - the football world has moved on and doesn't care too much for the good old days.

We are the proverbial big fish in a wee pond - unless we pay ridiculous money to players and manger (like Brenda) we need to rely on guys with potential who can use Rangers to enhance their career by making our club successful again.

That being said, we have a huge support, great tradition and history and we have ambitions to regain our place at the big table.

Sky and BT have gone a long way to ruining the game and 1000's of fans of Rangers pay big money to watch other teams play.

Just perhaps if Sky and BT had wind of profits based on investing in our game or insisting that their deals for the English game had to include some integration with Scotland we would become more attractive to investors.

07 Mar 2017 17:11:25
James I will back the new manager 100% whoever he is. I just think it's a mistake. I will be overjoyed to be proven wrong and I hope I am.

06 Mar 2017 19:47:46
See that mitchell from spurs has been allowed to walk early that must be the man for director of football.

06 Mar 2017 20:09:53
Were did you here this great if true

06 Mar 2017 20:22:38
On news now website

06 Mar 2017 21:48:48
I saw this as well
I think he would be a great appointment if it's him

06 Mar 2017 22:31:24
Just seen this surely must be the new dof will he stil want pedro? apparently that's who the boy from southampton wanted

06 Mar 2017 21:44:58
So the DOF is supposed to be in control of appointing the new manager or at least input into the new manager? Pedro already appointed. So no change here then. DOF to be appointed before the new manager. Why? If manager already selected tell me the point?

06 Mar 2017 23:52:31
I think we're in one hell of a mess. Going for European managers that really haven't set the world alight, shows me that board hasn't got at clue. King for me is a joke, bloody hiding in South Africa. Even Stevie Wonder can see that we are getting a raw deal from King and co. People crack on about "30+ million should sort things out". Has anyone seen the state of disrepair Ibrox is in? Got to be looking at 10-15million to sort it. Where is all this money coming from?

07 Mar 2017 12:47:31
Perhaps the manager has not been appointed and the press, as usual, are guessing.

I agree with you if the DoF has been chosen in this manner, anything is possible as far as Rangers are concerned these days. I just hope that whatever happens it's finally the start of us getting ourselves back in shape.

07 Mar 2017 13:51:40
tam bear i'm at ibrox every week and most of the work that had to be done is done already so what is it exactly u would like king to spend his money on in ibrox and tell me another thing mate what big name managers is going to come to us.

also i think rangers should be looking at european managers aswell as scottish ones as wee need to shop in different markets as we can't afford good quality from down south we have no money.
be patient we are still rebuilding and won't be the rangers of old for at least another 3-4 seasons

07 Mar 2017 13:53:30
tam bear 18 million already done in repairs and updating auchenhowie so what still has to be done mate please let me know what's still to be don to ibrox i go every week and nothing it seems great stadium to me.

07 Mar 2017 19:23:26
James i am at ibrox every 2nd week too and if u don't think the stadium needs work you must walk around with your eyes shut needs badly freshened up

07 Mar 2017 17:08:08
Tam bear, the stadium has been cleaned up mate and a lot of money spent in hospitality suites as well. When were you last there?

06 Mar 2017 08:08:36
I know this is a rumour site but i know for a fact that members of the Rangers board interviewed 2 candidates in London last Wednesday then interestingly flew straight over to Spain for a four hour interview with another candidate.

My source wouldnt/ couldn't tell me anything further but is it possible we are all missing something or someone in this long drawn out process.

06 Mar 2017 08:50:54
Another brand new username- there have been a lot lately- must be true then.

06 Mar 2017 09:08:32
You are correct Cuillin72 i'am a brand new username but not to my club, have been a season ticket holder for 29 years and followed them all over.
I have over the years gained some very good friends and some very well placed sources within Ibrox, i have read some of the rubbish that some people post on this site but as a true blue i would not post lies so all i can say is this definately did happen

06 Mar 2017 10:11:05
you could be a season ticket holder for 100 years, it doesn't make your point any more valid and it's completely irrelevant, if you want to be taken seriously build a reputation, you'll find that impossible since your rumours are made up.

06 Mar 2017 10:12:34
I was dismayed to learn that our target coach Pedro is an all out attack fan.
Look at what has happened under Warbs by ignoring our lack of defending.
Scottish football seems to be all about lumping the ball up into the opposition half and the forwards grabbing the chances in the undefended box.

06 Mar 2017 10:24:17
Wooly, he also likes his team to press quickly against teams, something we currently do not do, we sit back and let teams walk over us.

06 Mar 2017 10:38:55
Just picked couple of previous comments from Cullen and Frank White, it's hard to build a reputation when you don't get posted, I am on this site at least an hour a day but rarely post because I obviously talk shit, some however are so well versed in our club, traditions and well being.

06 Mar 2017 10:45:39
Keep hearing about interviews by 'the board', who is doing the interviewing?

06 Mar 2017 10:48:07
Hi Onlyshow,
Suppose we will just have to wait and see, but I am really pissed off by the way things have been going and dreading another two humiliations against our bitter rivals.

06 Mar 2017 10:49:24
No point in posting anything because every story just gets slated. Think some people need to look up what a rumour is.

06 Mar 2017 12:23:02
72coop that was a waste of time coming oot with that without any names your source ain't very good or u had a bad dream

06 Mar 2017 12:31:38
Yes this page is a rumour page but how easy is it to start a rumour Wee are all bears the getha so let's try keep them truth posts and not phantom

06 Mar 2017 14:08:28
I posted a rumour on hear a few years ago about Kenny Miller an Nicky Foster coming back to Rangers, and was torn to ribbons.

06 Mar 2017 14:13:00
Christ almighty!
Sometimes wonder if we all aren't the Paranoid Conspiracy Theorists in Glasgow.
Firstly - Welcome 72Coop. Glad to have you on board. Whether I believe your rumour or not isn't important I'm just glad to have another fellow bluenose to chat with.
However I for one DO believe you as the limited info makes it pointless to post unless true.

06 Mar 2017 14:35:53
72 coop

We are intrigued as all the possible names linked to the managerial vacancy have been mentioned in the media.

06 Mar 2017 17:26:28
Welcome 72Coop. Whether folk agree with the post or not, we all follow the same team and good to see another Bear on the forum. A lot worse been posted recently, like us getting that Torino boy! Good to have you on board mate

06 Mar 2017 18:14:40
Rite lads who do use think should be in the dug oot
Next Sunday

06 Mar 2017 19:55:08
Murty will be the manager next week. No doubt.

06 Mar 2017 21:45:24
Agree welcome to the Forum 72 coop.

06 Mar 2017 21:19:08
You are 100% correct smodge81, some people seem to get their kicks out of knocking ordinary bears who are keen to share some information they know, my original post is by no means phantom and i would love to know who it was they interviewed and for the record i just cannot work out who or why Spain but all true, let's hope it is someone who can get our team moving forward with a bit of grit and true Rangers spirit especially with Sunday coming up.

06 Mar 2017 21:28:04
Halliday should be in the dug oot on Sunday Smodge!

07 Mar 2017 01:07:58
Gon4 55 well there is wan seat taken lol

07 Mar 2017 13:25:01
Gon4 55, Halliday should be in the stand.

Woolybunnet, just because he likes to attack doesn't automatically mean he doesn't want to defend. Souness, Smith in the 9iar era and Advocaat had great attacking teams but they could still defend well.

06 Mar 2017 07:59:00
Just a rumour. Heard we are to hold a press conference tonight 6:30. Either DOF or new manager.

06 Mar 2017 11:21:44
May just be start of the build up to the old firm game, hope I'm wrong though

06 Mar 2017 11:32:05
Press conferences are very seldom held in the evening because of media coverage. They are aimed to take in first of all the lunchtime new slots and then to allow evening news and newspapers to work on features and follow-ups to whatever the conference announces.

06 Mar 2017 15:59:21
Jordano hope u r right as we are all waiting to hear some news wether it be the DOF or managerial appointment.

06 Mar 2017 00:30:35
A wee thought here guys;

If as expected ross wilson does turn rangers down, i wonder if that may change the thinking of appointing pedro caixinha as our new head coach? It was said that ross wilson had told rangers to look to appointing caixinha as head coach if he did indeed take the rangers DOF job!

If it ends up being paul mitchell as our new DOF, then he will probably want to convince our board to appoint tim sherwood as our new head coach, as he speaks very highly of sherwood! They are seemingly very close! Just a thought fellow bears?

06 Mar 2017 10:32:08
Agree 100 % manager choice will have a lot to do with our dof appointment

06 Mar 2017 10:25:30
I'd prefer Tim sherwood than pedro caixinha. He was the spurs manager who give harry kane his chance. I just don't understand the process we seem to be following. I think your right supercoop surely the dof should appoint the coach. Maybe i'm wrong and that's not the way things are done. But I'm pretty sure les Reed appoints the coach at Southampton.

06 Mar 2017 10:53:18
Surely it makes more sense to appoint the DOF 1st then he gets a big say in who he would like to be our head coach, if it is true in what you're saying about Wilson wanting Pedro as coach but Wilson is going to turn us down then this could be another big mistake from our clueless board and also I think Tim sherwood would be a great appointment for us at this time

06 Mar 2017 12:42:07
lets get one thing clear, Tim Sherwood would be a disaster in every way imaginable.

seriously, what are you all on?

06 Mar 2017 13:15:40
On what basis would Sherwood be a disaster in every way imaginable? he's a very well thought of individual throughout the English game and I for 1 think he would be a fantastic appointment if indeed it is Paul Mitchell for the DOF role as stated above.

The DOF needs to be the man to appoint the coach he feels comfortable working with.

06 Mar 2017 19:22:32
Bluebaws, he's that well thought of he can't get a job in England, was sacked after six months in charge of Spurs and eight months at Villa. He's a complete incompetent.

06 Mar 2017 19:23:39
If he is so well thought of why has he been out of work so long?
