According to the guardian Kenny Miller has rejected Brum to sign a pre contract aggrement with a top european club. Doesnt say who. Sources close to the player says he wants to continue his career abroad can you confirm this Ed? {ed's note - no I don't know who it is, trouble is it depends on what you call 'top' as to who it could be. I will see if I can find out though.}

One bad result then a bid accepted for a 31 year old who is in last 6 month of contract and won't sign a new one, looks like all hell is breaking loose. I will post what Ive been told on this. Miller deal makes business sense from Rangers point of view, he will be moved on and a younger player brought in on cheaper wages, yes this will be Goodwillie, he wants to come and hopefully Webster being a make weight. On the takeover, this will go through. Expect a statement over next 10 days, will give Walter money to spend.

Rangers Already Failed In A Bid To Buy Goodwillie. Obvously We Bid For Goodwillie Because They Must Have Already Knew That Kenny Would Leave. To Be Honest Dundee United Arn't Going To Let Him Go Easily. As For Boyd, No Way Hes A Good SPL Striker But He Cant Just Expect Rangers To Run After Him Simply Because Things Aren't Working In England. And Kenny Miller Won't Be The Only Player Teams Will Be After So Expect A Long Month Ahead. Also Ed Any Other Rumours On Who Rangers Are Going To Get To Replace Kenny Since The Dundee Utd Bid Was Rejected? {ed's note - I haven't mate, I was in a meeting all day which dragged on a bit (mostly my fault as I kept getting distracted editing the sites on my phone!).}

I Have heard Rangers are looking at David goodwillie but will miss out. And i have been informed he will sign for celtic or blackpool for 1.5m plus add ons. Rangers are now looking at edson buddle LA Galaxy but i have a exculsive that millers replacement is know other than inverness caley thistle striker adam rooney 400,000. And that has Terry Butcher's blissing. Also Madjid Bougherra is leaving too.

Even if Rangers do get 600k for Millar, they still could not afford Goodwillie
UTD want 1.5 million, then you need to add say his contract , 3 years at say 15k a week
so your looking close to 4 mill outlay

they need to sell another player, so if McGreggor os sold for say 4-5 mill as well this transfer window, you will see Goodwillie and someone like Bell and either 1 more signing or a couple of loans to balance the books

I actually hope Kenny Miller does leave, bring in Goodwillie who is 10 years younger and we will be able to pay him half of Miller's wages and possibly use the rest for a loan player. Miller has been scoring goals but he seems to have become Boyd he isn't working as hard off the ball as he used to. Time for him to go. Jelavic and Goodwillie up front could be a good partnership, also time to give big Kyle a go in his real position.

Dont think any1 can come on here and make real true rumours. As no1 really knows if gers have money 2 spend apart from walter and the bank but then there making bids for players.

gers intrested in david goodwillie and have had a bid rejected sources sky sports bbc sport and many others. also Erik Huseklepp has been linked but walter has said this is not true.

Also just seen on stv news birmingham have placed a bid of £700,000 Some reports claim the Ibrox club have accepted the bid for the player.

personally i would like miller 2 stay and goodwillie 2 join. ed am i right on what ive said {ed's note - it seems that Miller is going to raise the funds to bring in Goodwillie. I can see the reasoning behind it, lower wages and a lot younger, one for the future.}

I see rangers are supposed to be after david goodwillie! Hes not good enough. let celtic waste their money! we must have a decent centre back in place now that's important if you want this title.
Id say left back is needing sorted as well. apart from that I hear what you think the players are worth .get real, nobody will pay anything like whats been mentioned for any of them!andy webster is too injury prone to be a rangers centre back free to dee utd or Aberdeen . and another 6 freed at end of season.why they signed Beattie will always be a mystery to me! injury prone too.

How is he not good enough? Goodwillie Is Only 21 And A Great Young Scottish Talent, And with Kenny Miller Stalling on signing a new contract then i think Goodwillie would be a great replacement should Miller leave. Dont write things about players when you know nothing about them maybe you should do some research before writing next time

Got to laugh at the man with no surname moaning at lloyds for not giving rangers any more cash to spend, does he not realise that this is the same bank that has kept his beloved rangers from going into administration?he never opened his mouth when minty murray was giving him millions to spend when the rest of scottish football was stone broke, remember you still take a very handsome wage home at the end of the week!when you borrow money remember you have to pay it back, why do rangers have a problem with paying what they owe?the taxman cometh pay up

This was on BBC Sport Scotland todsy from Craig Whyte

Craig Whyte remains hopeful of concluding his proposed takeover of Rangers before the end of January.

Whyte has been in negotiations with the current owner Sir David Murray since the middle of November.

He had hoped to complete a £33m deal before Christmas, but due diligence has taken longer than Whyte expected.

Meanwhile, the Rangers Supporters' Trust chief has warned that fans could boycott Lloyds Bank if they continue to deny Rangers funds for squad building.

Whyte considers the matter to be largely in Murray's hands at this stage, with Whyte's lawyers and accountants awaiting responses to a number of queries from the current owner.

He expects that following a period of relative inactivity over the festive period, which he found frustrating, the pace of negotiations will now pick up.

However, if Whyte can conclude a deal soon, he hopes to be able to help Rangers manager Walter Smith strengthen his squad.

On Thursday, Smith bemoaned the current financial constraints at the club, stating that he would be unable to bring in new players unless he sold first.

Getting the Rangers family involved in a boycott of Lloyds Bank can't be ruled out

Rangers Supporters' Trust chairman
Stephen Smith
Stephen Smith, chairman of the Rangers Supporters' Trust, reiterated their stance regarding Lloyds Bank's involvement with the club.

"The sooner Lloyds are disentangled from the running of Rangers Football Club the better, " he told BBC Scotland.

"I'm as worried now as I was last year when the manager felt strongly enough to publicly criticise the bank's role.

"We've had a successful Champions League campaign, we're guaranteed at least two more European games, yet there has still been no change in attitude from Lloyds.

"We're challenging for four competitions and that's why the size of the squad is a concern.

"If the manager's saying we need help, why are Lloyds behaving in such a vindictive way towards Rangers?

"If that begins to materially affect Rangers on the park, we will certainly look to take action to try to change that.

"Getting the Rangers family involved in a boycott of Lloyds Bank can't be ruled out."

As of September 2010 Rangers' debt stood at £27m.

While Smith was allowed to conduct some transfer business in the summer - including the purchase of Nikica Jelavic for £4m - his hands have been largely tied on that front for the past three seasons.

The Scottish champions trail league leaders Celtic by four points, although they have two games in hand.

However, as things stand, Smith will have to challenge in all domestic competitions, as well as in the Europa League, with the same small squad of players.

Meanwhile, across Glasgow, rivals Celtic appear likely to bring in more players during the January transfer window.

Champions League participation over the last two seasons has helped Rangers go some way to alleviating their financial problems.

But failure to win the Scottish Premier League again this term, and thereby miss out on the lucrative Champions League, would reverse that trend and make things even more restrictive for whoever succeeds Smith as Rangers manager next season.
