Use our rumours form to send us rangers transfer rumours.

07 Jun 2012 22:14:58
heard a rumour from a freelance journalist that does a lot of work for glasgow based papers that the judgement coming out of the sfa tomorrrow evening will be a 6 month registration suspension.this would mean rangers would start playing fixtures around the turn of the year.apparentll rangers were keen to take a transfer embargo over the same period but since rangers went through the courts this option was no longer available.this is not defintie by any means as there has been a couple of say of talks with no concrete decision but with fifa looking in it looks as though the sfa have been been backed into a corner.

Believable22 Unbelievable55

Fifa said they are fine with the way the sfa are handling it, doednt sound like backing into a corner to me.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lot of Rubbish...

League structure cant cope with that if you account for the split so the balance of awarding victories to all rangers oppoents for the first 6 months doesn't match up with the rest of the season...it would be a farce, and open to leagal challenge.

Equally if they suspend us for 1 full season, fine...but you can't then just plug Rangers back into the premier league and say there is no promotion from Div 1...so where does that leave Rangers as , under SPL and SFL rules they cant just be put down the divisions....again, more absolutely chaos...

It doesn't work and that is probably why it never got put in the first time around and they manufactured the transfer embargo and hoped it would stick....

The rules are ill thought out as, in practice, given the structure of the game of SFA, SPL and SFL, these thigns are difficult to put into place without being open to legal challenge.

Either way, its a farce...SFA have no integrity as they should have pplied there rules as they have been banging on about since the start, rather than just make them up.....in all honesty, nobody in the scottish game gives a toss anymore as, for the second time in 1 season, they got caught making up the rules (remmeber the Lennon ban fiasco)....the game is a joke....and as things stand, nothing has sponsorship next season and rangers currently have no lisence from the SFA to play in the scottish game...

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm a Celtic fan and even I know this is nonsensical, how could any league operate when one of the team is suspended for 6 mths

Agree0 Disagree0

Ive heard a wee whisper that rangers first eleven home games will be given to the away side o-3 seems fair to me

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it is a bit naive to immediately accept the words "FIFA say they are fine with it." Transparency and FIFA are hardly common bedfellows, however the suspension does seem insane unless it comes in either blocks of 11 or 22 games and even then it has to be the precise games in question. The postponement of fixtures for glamour friendlies in week 2 immediately throws a spanner into that plan so it would have to be specific games but in a League where random and adhoc decisions are rife be prepared for anything.

"Ive heard a wee whisper that rangers first eleven home games will be given to the away side o-3 seems fair to me"

More like you WISH that was what will hapen!!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

What a load of rubbish! That also isn't a sanction available to the SFA! Away and back to bed grandpa.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers wil be fined the maximum, same punishment as the owner, no big deal.

Anorak.

Agree0 Disagree0

What is the logic behind suspending a team for 6 months? I think your freelance journalist chum is a phoany!!

The SFA would be better off just relegating Rangers to the 1st division as that's what will happen anyway if they are suspended for 6 months.

TTG

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers have already been fined the maximum...no big deal...anorak

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree - - big fine

out of a company in Admin?

more SFA cock up

bil72

Agree0 Disagree0

What part of we have already been fined up to the maximum limit is it that you guys dont understand??

Agree0 Disagree0

Be fair to the OP. That is just the kind of rubbish that Glasgow papers would print. They used to be good to carry your chips in but now we have polystyrene - and that tastes better than some chips.

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually the very maximum fine is 1 million and i think expulsion!

Agree0 Disagree0

TTG, there is no mechanism for the SFA to relegate Rangers to the 1st division, plus its not a listed punishment.
To the chip man, I have a problem with polystyrene as it is not bio-degradable, so it willl be around for ever.

BBC news : Duff & Phelps out if CVA not accepted. HMRC to appoint their own firm to deal with Liquidation if CVA not accepted. Why would they go to the bother od doing this if they are not saying "No way!"

Believable34 Unbelievable18

BDO and the names of the two liquidators inserted into CVA document to suit HMRC. It's liquidation 100%!!

Agree0 Disagree0

There is intent by HMRC not to accept this ridiculous CVA from green totally based on a loan!
I would not be surprised if HMRC use special powers to sequestrate assets for the benefit of the exchequer.

Agree0 Disagree0

So you are listening at last? "TIMMY" told you weeks ago about BDO being primed but as usual it was lies. This information is all over the net!

Agree0 Disagree0

Looks like hmrc are going to give the cva a chance why wait for three months into the cva before appointing new administrators.if they were against the cva they would not be interested in waiting three months.positive noises from hmrc if you ask me

Agree0 Disagree0

Any proposed Voluntary Arrangement or Scheme of Arrangement will be considered on its merits by HMRC Voluntary Arrangements Service
From RFC doc issued tonight.

bil72

Agree0 Disagree0

All part of the plan.....

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes it's actually good news people are trying to dress as bad. HMRC are basically offering a conditional acceptance. Saying yes to CVA but saying also "here's what happens if we dont get our cash". Provided they recieve their due it looks good. However the big tax case still waits. I have a feeling that news will not be as bad as certain people hope it will be either. It'll be bad but not death to rangers bad.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers to be suspended tomorrow evening, let's be honest, there's no honest alternative. Liquidation to follow quickly as D&P get bundled out the door, mumbling something about suing the BBC.
Rangers being sunk is part of a much wider agreement.

Agree0 Disagree0

They dont trust d&p valuation of ibrox & murray park (book value £100m - d&p value £5.50m. if the book value was dropped to say £25m the creditors would get more.

Agree0 Disagree0

How can the SFA not suspend rangers from Scottish football tomorrow for what they have done? Others have had worse for less.
Also inclusion in next seasons SPL is weighted with too much risk. What if they liquidate one month into SPL? Total chaos. But then again it's never about the other clubs, it's always about brushing the poo under the carpet and hoping Eangwrs makes it through another week.
Rangers starting the SPL is jeapardous to the whole SPL.

Agree0 Disagree0

The document specifically says It is not to be assumed HMRC have accepted any CVA proposal. Any CVA proposal will be considered and responded to at the creditors meeting.

Agree0 Disagree0

"OTHERS HAVE HAD WORSE FOR LESS"

Do tell! I'll apologise if I've missed something???

bil72

Agree0 Disagree0

"Others have had worse for less."
--

Like who? Is that just one of those phrases you lot come out with now, do you actually know what the current punishment was for?

Agree0 Disagree0

Like Spartans who were ejected from the Scottish cup for a signature being in the wrong place on a registration form. Ti put it in relative terms a punishment on the same scale would cost RFC £20 odd million.

Worse. For Less.

Agree0 Disagree0

Spartans got HAMMERED for essentially FA.

Agree0 Disagree0

..Were Spartans not reinstated on appeal?..

Dave King throughout the last few months has shown a precise and calculated attitudeto all the recent issues. So it seems sensible
to listen to his un-emotive opinions this afternoon Any supporter prepared to buy a season ticket without concrete assurances is deranged Mr. King states the obvious ...... show us a clear business plan without your smoke and mirrors

Believable29 Unbelievable21

Better to spend your money on flowers to put at the Ibrox gates just like at any other road crash disaster.

Agree0 Disagree0

King said he was suing Murray for £25m got two pages in DR but never done it.
King said Whyte promised him the shares and said he was going to court to get them. Never went to court!
Now king says he's suing Rangwrs for £20m.
We do know a SA senior judge called him a mendacious glib liar.
Why didn't king bid for the club? He wasn't even a blue knight?

Agree0 Disagree0

Green has replied saying king wasn't in any position to help or to make a bid and that we will be fine.......wtf? Who are we to believe here....... a guy who sat on the board while Murray and white destroyed our club or a guy from left field who promises riches and wealth but delivers f... all.can u Conmen please leave our club alone.....we ain't a money making excersize for no one......ain't looking good here I'm finally starting to believe I won't have a club to support next year

Agree0 Disagree0

He asked the SFA if he would pass their 'Fit and Proper Person' test, and I think they assumed it was a rhetorical question

Agree0 Disagree0

Anyone who buys a season ticket in the present circumstance either has money to burn or no clue as to how bad the situation is.

Agree0 Disagree0

Have to agree with the post stating how much of a charlatan King really is. Of all the people involved in this whole messy saga he has to be one of the most questionable of the lot and definetely not someone I would place my trust in. IMO the sooner we sever all ties with nefarious indivduals like King the sooner we might be able to get ourselves a bit of respectability back.

Agree0 Disagree0

Charles Green it not a criminal. Just a guy who has made some good and bad business decisions over the years. Dave King, however has never made a good business decision and made all his money via deception and tax evasion in a country where well over half of the population live in abject poverty. People are choosing King over Green and it is ridiculous.

Agree0 Disagree0

If you were planing to buy/renew your season ticket I would urge you to make up your own mind.
People posting negative statements about this that or the other may not necessarily have the clubs best interest at heart.
Call me an old cynic , but these posts may be designed to cause further damage to the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Renewing your season ticket is called supporting your team a majority of the folk on here prob never set foot in ibrox . How many times have we heard it's all over blah blah blah we will be here next year and we will get stronger

Agree0 Disagree0

King should put up or shut up he was there through the times when we landed in this mess

JG

Agree0 Disagree0

I think KING should just SHUT Up. Fans want there club, he was part of Murrays little spend spree Club.

Agree0 Disagree0

If I were buying rangers knowing there was no chance of a CVA, I'd get the season ticket money in before the CVA was rejected then use that to fund the new co.... I support rangers not the a new co. There is no way my cash is going to some deluded businessman who things he can buy me.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not going to renew my season ticket!!

Reason being there is so much negitivity surrounding the club and i can't Afford to loose over £1000 for 2 ST.God knows what is going to happen over the next months but me and my family wont be renewing.

Agree0 Disagree0

King knows there is an injunction out by the South African government preventing him investing anything in Scotland, so even if he won the case against RFC or SDM, the money goes to South Africa to pay his tax bill FFS.

Agree0 Disagree0

If Green (at it or not) can deliver a CVA agreement with creditors then he has saved our club. If we liquidate its NEWCO. Green will be off once he has a saleable asset Im sure, be it in a year or 5. NEWCO has the downside of being severe uncertainty for years. Take the medicine and get well again!!!Whether Green is at it or not

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not going to pretend Dave King doesn't have many faults but I'd trust a real Rangers man who has put £20,000,000 of his own money into the club over the years (and seemingly never took out money via an EBT like most other directors) rather a guy who probably couldn't name a Rangers player this time last year who is only interested in making money out of the club in a firesale liquidation. BB

Agree0 Disagree0

Why didn't king bid for the club? He wasn't even a blue knight?

Like all the big boys he's waiting for liquidation where you can buy the assests with no attained debts. {Ed039's Note - King has his own problems and is not in a position to make an offer, probably wouldnt be in a position to pass a fit and proper persons test when one is available)

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed he does not need to run or own the club to invest. Sure he has trouble with SA tax, but most creative accounts will be able to deal with that. But leaving that aside the big boys are interested in cherry picking liquidated assets, not in atempting CPR on a corpse {Ed039's Note - No you dont need to own or run the club to invest)

During the fans meeting with Mr Green it has been reported that £10M of funding was available. I thought D&P said they had seen proof of £20M. So what is the amount 20 or 10 and did the fans group query this at the meeting, if not, why not?

Believable15 Unbelievable14

We were told the money was to run out on 1st June. How are the full salaries at the end of June being paid? And July and August?

Agree0 Disagree0

As a con artist Green seems to fumble his lines too often. Maybe he is just a liar with a very poor memory and hopes the rest of don't notice it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Can someone explain why he is a con artist? Good article on Private Eye today about him. He seems the genuine article, albeit one who has picked some ambitious but ultimately doomed projects to invest in. People seem to be suggesting he has criminal intent. I've yet to see evidence of this. I thought it was the other mob who were meant to be paranoid?

Agree0 Disagree0

The £20m the admins would have seen proof of includes the bid fee as well as the necessary funds to cover us through the admin process.

leaving £10m the fans have been assured of to tide us through next season.

everything doesnt have to be some machiavellian whyte/D&P/green conspiracy

Agree0 Disagree0

I have never been a lover of conspiracy theories, its not rocket science to assume all parties are acting out of self interest.

Anorak.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is how he is con artist. He has proposed a CVA which he has no money to pay. He then decides that the CVA is a loan not a purchase. When he gets control of Rangers he sells palying staff and recoups his "loan" with lots of interest. Then there is no money to run the club. The club goes tits up again and this time he is the "preferred creditor" other creditors get stuffed and liquidators sell the club assets on his behalf net him another nice little pay day. Greene getting his CVA/New co would be the worst news for ranger possible

Agree0 Disagree0

Green has made 15 companies insolvent or liquidated them

Agree0 Disagree0

It was supposed to be 20 investors too and now hes running around begging people to invest - Dave King for one!

Agree0 Disagree0

What ever you make of Dave King, he assesment of Greene's buisness plan (or lack of) is 100% right. There is a £10 million hole in rangers running costs and there is no plan to plug it {Ed039's Note - He makes some very good points)

Charles Green pledges not to sell or mortgage Rangers assets

07 June 2012 15:03 BST

Charles Green, new owner of Rangers.
Charles Green's plans for Rangers do not include the sale and leaseback of Ibrox and Murray Park, according to the Rangers Fans Fighting Fund.

BUT CAN WE BELIEVE HIM?

Believable8 Unbelievable33

I wouldn't

Agree0 Disagree0

Cmon in statement RFFF still believe a Rangers PLC still owns the assets! Rangers Group have owned assets for over a year - get it right RFFF!

Agree0 Disagree0

Who can we believe past or present?

Agree0 Disagree0

Mr Green has not been consistent enough for me I'm afraid he speaks with forked tongue and if this is true we're all forked

Agree0 Disagree0

He is not going to own anything. HMRC are throwing Duff & Phelps off the case and bringing in their own team to deal with matters if CVA is not accepted. And who says if CVA will be accepted? Liquidation is the name of the game.

Agree0 Disagree0

If Green told told me today is Thursday I would go buy a newspaper to check. He will do this He will do that we won't sell this and we won't sell that...HRMC today makes it known that BDO the liquidating company will be put in if Duff and Phelps can bring club out of administration, and that can only be done through a CVA and we all know that's going to fail, so potentially in the next couple of weeks the liquidators will move on and we won't see Green for dust.....The whole circus is all smoke and mirrors

Agree0 Disagree0

Charles green shuts his mouth and signs the paper work to finalise his takeover officially ... now that would be a rumour worth reading

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldn't believe a word the man says, he knows fine well liquidation is a dead cert and is only interested in trying to make some money in the aftermath. Craig Whyte Mark II. BB

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you have any choice? What if you don't?

Agree0 Disagree0

My worry is that the RFFF are a bunch of toots who don't know what the foot they are talking about!

As an outsider to this I find it baffling that rangers fans are happy to be represented by these people. Is there no decent rangers fans organization? And if not why is no one putting themselfs above the parapit to set one up

Agree0 Disagree0

A majority of Rangers fans in my view are not happy with these unelected groups speaking 'on our' behalf.

Letter issued to all Creditors today from D&P with modified proposals for the creditors meeting following correspondence with creditors.

Additional proposal now inserted that should HMRC agree to a CVA, if CVA subsequently fails to perform after 3 months, then the proposal is that HMRC nominated Malcolm Cohen and James Bernard of BD should be appointed liquidators.

Believable23 Unbelievable8

Are you a creditor?

TTG

Agree0 Disagree0

80% of CVAs fail.

Agree0 Disagree0

Interesting biography of Makcolm Cohen of BDO. Leads the firms Contentious Insolvency team - "this team is dedicated to the recovery of assets through litigation, cross border investigations and uncovering fraud"

Think HMRC just brought the big guns out......

Agree0 Disagree0

Confirmed on BBC

Agree0 Disagree0

I might be wrong here but is this not hmrc covering their backs if they agree to cva green would then have three month to pay all monies which i think is fair if he fails then hmrc would liquidate the club ;;; cooperboy {Ed039's Note - HMRC are defo covering all bases with this one)

Agree0 Disagree0

So that could mean insolvency event during the 2012-13 season! What a bloody mess that would b. How could new co fform mid season. No way is green going to cover these debts if income doesn't cover it big trouble ahead IMO!

Agree0 Disagree0

So HMRC look like agreeing to the CVA but are giving Rangers 3 months to come up with the cash before they bring in the strippers. Thats the CVA achieved then I take it? Or do we still need Ticketus to agree as well?

Agree0 Disagree0

What I dont understand is how can anyone come up with the cash within 3 months if no specified amout has been put on said cash. We only know the provisional pot. Theres a number of TBC's in the pot which may still be TBC in 3 months. Baffling if you ask me. An also, what if CVA isnt agreed - do creditors just accept Newco at £5.5m or can they challenge that too. An interesting few weeks ahead!

Agree0 Disagree0

The proposal wording makes it clear that HMRC have not agreed to a CVA yet. No one will know their position until the creditors meeting. The clauses inserted today are HMRC covering all bases.

Agree0 Disagree0

The 3 months started from the 20th April its not from the 7th of June.

Agree0 Disagree0

3months was setting a deadline for D&P to complete a CVA by 20th July.

Agree0 Disagree0

The document clearly says the 3 months is from date of creditors meeting and D&P have to report back by that time whether the CVA has realised more for creditors than a liquidation will. If the latter applies then the proposal is that BDO take over as liquidators.

Agree0 Disagree0

HMRC liquidation guys do not take prisoners they kill them off, stone dead, kaput bye bye!

Agree0 Disagree0

My take is that this is putting an end to all the Newco tripe that Greene has been spouting. HNRC are now saying clearly that in Greene can't get a CVA agreed then it is straight liquidation by their preferred liquidator. So if never mind Greene crap about 9p or nothing. HMRC are saying that liquidation will net a possible £50million, if you want a CVA match that.

whats the thoughts of fellow Bears on the possible signing of Rino Gattuso? my thoughts at first were no way he`s too old and with his eye injury it might just be too much for him,but now having thought about it I think maybe I eas a bit hasty, maybe his class and experience would see him through maybe 65 minutes of a game, and the lift he would give the team plus the interest from the tv media might make it an interesting propositition, also he always said he would finish his career back with us,,no matter what happen all I can say is GOOD LUCK AND GOOD HEALTH RINO FOR THE FUTURE.

Believable19 Unbelievable13

No chance ! Been finished for ages ! Runs about like a rabid dog without doing much else.

Agree0 Disagree0

Two words.....Davie Weir.

Age isn't a factor when it comes to a player who has won European cups, and the World Cup.
On top of that, he is, at his auld age, 10 times the player Maurice Edu will ever be.

Anyway, realistically we can't be looking at transfers until everything else has been cleared up and we as fans know where we stand.

Rikkisixx

Agree0 Disagree0

He'd stroll the Spl without breaking a sweat, fully recovered from his injury so that wouldn't be a problem. No chance it will happen though.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd take him no bother, he'd still stroll the Scottish league

Agree0 Disagree0

Age isnt a factor when you can read the game like Weir and didnt rely on pace. Rino is finished as a footballer. Yes its great that he loves the club and wants to come back but to be honest he wouldn't oust McCabe from midfield.

Agree0 Disagree0

Two other words: transfer embargo! We need to get ourselves out this state, focus on keeping players before we bring in others

Lord nelson

Agree0 Disagree0

He is done. A player his age, with his knee's (and eye for that matter) playing in the middle of the park will not be able to handle the pace of the game here. Its 100 miles an hour stuff ( in the bad way, not the good way). I watched his last couple of appearances for Milan and thought after watching him he would definitely retire. Rangers should leave it alone. I know it would be nostalgic and all that but from a football point of view he will not improve the team. He was never an in inventive player or great passer of the ball. He is a battler who would run all day and bite ankles and drag the team on, he was world class at that, but when you lose the running ability and knee's start to go what are you left with? sounds daft but Edu can run all day long, amazing engine and Davis has obviously more to offer than Gattuso. Shame the chance didnt come to sign him a few years ago. But then he had no interest in signing when he was still useful. A bit cynical but true i'm afraid. I would much rather see Ness and McCabe establishing themselves next year as first team regulars and i think they will. I can assure you IF the transfer embargo is lifted (and no longer subject to appellate tribunal) AND we get out of admin, and then we sign Gattuso it will be to sell shirts.

Agree0 Disagree0

When ,if , Rangers get back into the top flight again is so far in the future. Is this not the time to look for youngsters who could do well in 3rd ,improve into 2nd and be fairly good performers when you get to the Premier league.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol Lord Nelson,

I was just saying more to rubbish the age arguement ;)

Rikkisixx.

PS the guy talking about knees, and then saying edu has a great engine(WTF, I can run for days, but it never made me a footballer).... R De Boer, was reported to have "Knees like a 50 year old" when he signed for rangers, this is a Fact...again, your argument holds no water. 34 year old, in the defensive midfield area, doesn't need to run about like a headless chicken, just take the ball from defense and spread the passes. When defending he just falls into position and ensures protection in front of the Centre halves. At least he wouldn't bottle a 50/50 tackle like, say...Davis, and at least he can accurately pass a ball more than 10 yards unlike like say...Edu.

But Still, think there are more worries other than who we may or (More likely) may not sign.

You can't fill a team full of youngsters and expect them to win, you Need experience, and a world cup, and european cup winning midfielder, who has captained club and country would be great experience for a McCabe or Ness

Rikkisixx

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol @ some of the posters of course rino could do a job he's a battler and a winner something which sadly lacks within rangers midfield i hope he does come back :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Rino clearly fancies carrying on a playing career and giving his missus a bit of time back in her home town so I can see the logic from his point of view.

From our point of view it would be a nonsense - he was finished a few years ago now - watched him against Spurs last season and he was useless even before that pathetic attack on Jordan.

If he signed for us he would not contribute anything but would give every team playing against us a massive lift and he would probably be sent off a few times for reacting to provocation.

As such nice of you to think of us (or your wife) but no thanks.

Surely we could significantly reduce their debt to creditors by selling Ibrox to a company or indeed the Council or Government (as it is required for the Commonwealth Games) and rent it back at a quite high rate for the next 20 years with an aim to buy it back eventually. Murray Park or whatever it is called now should be sold to the SFA as a National Football Academy - who has it ever really produced that has taken the world by storm? Sell Greegs, Naismith, Lafferty and a couple of other high earners and then start on the slow climb back up to respectability. I have no trust in Green and I'm thinking that Junior Football looks like alternate enjoyment next year.

The Hunny Monster

Believable27 Unbelievable18

This is effectively a re-financing exercise which could have been done before the administration process if that's what Whyte was interested in doing. We can only assume that long term financing isn't what Whyte does.

Agree0 Disagree0

One of the best posts ive read for a long time on both sites this one and the champions. well thought poster.

Agree0 Disagree0

Charles Green statement on BBC saying Ibrox and Murray Park wont be sold.

Agree0 Disagree0

You may find the new owners leasing the ground back to RFC once the dust has settled. That way if a NEWCO goes bust in a years time, the assets will not be included.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hunny Monster, you are looking at this the way most working class people would. I would have accepted Rangers sell as many players as possible, sell Murray Park, Sell the Car Park and pay off what debt that they could have, this would have resulted in a few years to rebuild, but WOULD have shown a bit of class and dignity, unfortunately it seems to be the wish of most that no one gets anything , the club retain their assets and history the club statrs signing Gattusso etc, and to hell with those who have had their money pinched.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good plan... but appears noone interested in that sensible way forward.

D&P have grabbed first £5million of any value left in rangers.....

and a newco switcheroooo looks likely

SFA could stop all the switcheroooo nonesense with a quick decision on double contracts.

Agree0 Disagree0

Absolutely right. IF the plan had at any time to produce a viable buisness out of rangers this is what should have been done (or sell Ibrox and ground share at Hampden). D&P have had no plans to save Rangers and to demonstrate that there is a viable buisness there. Their entire stratagy has clearly been about shaftiing the creditors. And stuffing money into their won pockets as well as their freinds (see links with Whyte and Greene ). Rangers could have been saved but the Admin had other ideas. Sadly this kind of thing goes on all day every day and one of the positives of the Rangers fiasco is that this sharp (but legal) practice is being shown for what it is.

Agree0 Disagree0

The one big problem in your suggestion is that while it would significantly reduce debt and make a CVA attractive, it would also increase running costs (the additional cost of renting Ibrox) and possible incomes as the weakened time is less competitive and attracts fewer supports. But it could and should have been done.

Agree0 Disagree0

I am baffled why anyone thinks Ibrox or Murray Park are worth more than has been bid. They are nigh on worthless.

Regan and the SFA gone public saying they know the articles have been broken by Rangers going to civil court but the SFA will take no action in respect of this.

Looks like SFA are going light touch on the club. Regan says he knows and understands why rangers took it to court and no action on that count. The appellant panel will only consider the original charges.

Reading between the lines here, but as a Rangers fan i would be very worried. My understanding of it all is that rangers have backed the sfa into a corner now,
before the punishment for bringing the game into disrepute as far as i am a ware is expulsion from cup games, or even revoking your spl licence,It will depend on how much pressure from behind the scenes that fifa have put on the sfa to deal with the case this time round.
Also with even more charges coming from the sfa for infringements over the last 10yrs or so i would not hold my breath that things are are looking better.

Agree0 Disagree0

The only reason the SFA are taking ano action on this is because when a suitable punishment is given for original offence there will be no club left to pursue.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think this is a clever approach by SFA. They took legal advice before going public with this.
Rangers now cannot appeal any 'going to court punishment' mixed with original charges as there's no grounds now for further appeal. Clever.
If SFA hammer rangers tomorrow evening, it won't be for going to court of session.
I think it will be a suspension.

Agree0 Disagree0

No excuses now about illegal decisions.
Or being punished for going to court.

Interesting approach by SFA.

Quite worrying actually considering Regans other words regarding Rangers.

Termination is for match fixing. Suspension is for the next crime down. The panel's written finding stated rangers crimes were one below match fixing, so surely the punishment is suspension? The only punishment available to fit the crime.

Agree0 Disagree0

The finding's from the disciplinary panel stated they had 2 courses of action Expulsion or withdrawal of SFA membership, avaialable to them within the rules. they chose to ingnore these and put the transfer ban in place, Which RFC challenged. They knew that the Transfer ban was not available to them as punishment but thought that was a less harsh route to go. So having challenged in the court, as has been pointed out they now have no recourse to appeal whatever is handed down to them.......Shot in the foot bigtime springs to mind.....someone is playing a very crafty game and it will not benefit Rangers one little bit

Agree0 Disagree0

Regan also said all the problems in Scottish football at the moment boils down to one club. And it's one club being discussed at all the meetings.
He also went on about wrong to wash our dirty linen in public courts....... So yeah not being punished for it .......

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree suspension is the likely outcome but for how long? Six months is not practical it would need to be for one full season at least.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gen up bears my brother is a courier and was picking up a parcel late on Wednesday while inside the building he could here people singing "we are having a party when Rangers die" He was fuming when he got home.He does not know exactly who it was but I suspect the Eastie Beasties

Agree0 Disagree0

Suspension for 9 months.....one season but not a calendar year. This allows Rangers to offload this squad for good money to put in the CVA.

Agree0 Disagree0

Courier man: What was the tune? The lyrics just do not scan. Not much of a rebuttal of your idea but the only thing I can think makes it unlikely.

I wouldn't be surprised if he gives consideration to selling the right to rename Ibrox like other clubs did with their stadium, Man City = Etihad, Arsenal = Emirates. I dont know if i would be against that idea, it seems like a concept that is happening more and more in the football world. I think as long as the likes of Tampax or Head and Shoulders don't want to buy the rights then we would get used to it.

Believable20 Unbelievable9

Arsenal moved stadiums not changed names

Agree0 Disagree0

I've never been a fan opposed to this idea. It's been done before and its a money maker... It'll always be referred to as ibrox on the street so who cares if it's the sky stadium or the virgin arena or the donald trump theatre or T is The Park instead of T in the park.

Agree0 Disagree0

The money would not be anywhere the level those clubs got.Its based on TV exposure and the prem is vast

Agree0 Disagree0

Those other clubs are high profile, playing in Europe season after season....Whats the Ibrox naming rights worth when you can buy the whole club for £8Million...Hee Haw would be my estimate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well let's get this in proportion. Emirates and Etihad - OK for a big club in a big league. For Rangers we need to go down a rung or two. I wouldn't say "The FlyBe" or "The ThomsonFly" sounds quite as good.

Agree0 Disagree0

Arsnal still sold the naming rights smart a**e. and I think Tampax would be a suitable name bearing in mind all the f***ys running yer club into the ground.
DB77

Agree0 Disagree0

Sell it to apple and you still have i-Brox?

Agree0 Disagree0

I-brox is clever I like that one

(smile)

Just like British Nuclear Fuels keep renaming that plant in Cumberland but everyone knows it is still a stinking zone of comtamination.

Agree0 Disagree0

How's about naming it centre 1 !!

If its true about renaming Murray Park. Then why not sell the name. Get money for it, what do we care what its called. Tesco Park, Nike Park. Its all money we need.
Don

Believable40 Unbelievable8

That's the way it should be, why not rename the stadium too, lots of clubs doing that these days, need all the revenue we can get , even sell it for just 3-5 years.

Agree0 Disagree0

My new name for Murray Park is....
R angers
T raining
C entre
LOL Timalloy

Agree0 Disagree0

Or have a competition or raffle with fans winning the right to choose name

Agree0 Disagree0

No value to a company in renaming Murray Park. Ibrox, different matter but would the Bears be happy with it been known as something else?

Agree0 Disagree0

Green is only spouting this drivel in order to get Gets fans to dig deep into their pockets to buy season tickets, he needs money and he needs it NOW!

Agree0 Disagree0

Even Manchester United can't sell the name to their training ground _ there's no value in it for a sponsor. Secondly i don't see companies queing up to be associated with Rangers after all of the negative publicity and shame.

Agree0 Disagree0

Who would buy a training park name? It's only stadia with tv cameras and commentators that get named for money.

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't see any of the big brands wanting their name attached to anything closely resembling RFC(IA) at the minute .....TTTS

Agree0 Disagree0

Don`t let this spiv rip you off gers fans. The man is a fraud.Ask him who and where are his 20 investors ? Rumour has it he is struggling to raise any money . He wants to use OTHER PEOPLE`S MONEY to buy rangers. Ring any bells, Gers fans ? In effect , he wants to use season ticket money - DO NOT GIVE HIM ANY !

Agree0 Disagree0

He may well need money - but as the season tickets haven't even been offered yet - whats all the hooha!

bil72

Agree0 Disagree0

Vodaphone would be a good sponsor - they did better out of HMRC than we have ;-))

(no deals mind)
bil72

We should have cut a deal wi HMRC offered the name 'Jubilee Park'. :D
Don

Agree0 Disagree0

Few years ago you would have said it was a wind up that referees would be running around on match day with SPECSAVERS on their shirts. So, in that vein what about MONEYEXPERT.COM

Agree0 Disagree0

Fans will only have an input if they buy a season ticket! I think Mr Green thinks that we are all a wee bit green behind the ears.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ocean Finance so all debts could be consolidated in to one mangable debt

Agree0 Disagree0

For heaven's sake, the post was about renaming Murray Park, not selling the naming rights.
Green obviously sees the fans' mood regarding SDM and is giving an option to them. This will win friends.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers Park. Never be able to sell naming rights of a training ground. So let's call it simply Rangers Park. No Murray, no Greig, no Moses McNeil. No man is bigger than the club after all.

on the everton part of the website they all seem very sure that naismith is about to sign for them why is this has there been anything siad?

Believable17 Unbelievable28

Naismith and the other players still under contract will not move until after the CVA creditors meeting. If RFC is liquidated they will be out of contract and may be able to negotiate better personal terms

Agree0 Disagree0

Well on this site a year ago Shyte was the great Shyte knight and look how those rumours turned out

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi teddy bears, Evertonian here just reading thro the web and Firstly would like to thank you for the bargain of the century. jelivic has been outstanding, and for 5m. Secondly the Rumours about Naismith seem to be gathering momentum down here. if he is half the player as jelivic that will do nicely.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jelavic talked up Naismith to David moyes and after his impact in the premiership chances are David moyes will make a move :/
