i got told last night on good authoritie that Gers will announce mcciness soon it's all done and dusted just waiting on the announcement I don't have contacts inside the club or anything but did get told off a guy who claims he has lol one of those anyway thought I'd share it not overly exciting getting del in but it's a loss to the sheep and a gain to us he should bridge the gap a lot further than any of our previous so it's a step forward how far forward remains to be seen.

McInnes will come in, an appointment which is well overdue. Tony Docherty can stay in Aberdeen though, as Murty and Miller will be my choice in a similar arrangement to Smith, McDowell and McCoist.
His first job will be to sure up the back line which hemrages goals from the full back areas. Possibly start using Wilson on the left, Cardoso on the right and let Alves and McCrorie form a partnership in the middle. A more physical back 4.

08 Nov 2017 14:16:07
Wilson and Carduso are bad enough in central defence never mind trying to play them at full back. Terrible shout.

08 Nov 2017 14:22:09
I know he's not everyone's cup of tea, but what about Tav. He has been the one who has supplied an awful lot of balls that have turned into goals for us this season.
I would like to think there is a space for him as (yes he could do better defensively) I feel he brings something to the party.

08 Nov 2017 15:29:24
Maybe unlikely but what are the thoughts of Gio taking over as his “bookie” odds have soared to second fav behind McI

08 Nov 2017 16:06:22
Is this just a bookies ploy to get us rushing out to put a bet on

08 Nov 2017 16:35:51
van bronckhurst for me

08 Nov 2017 16:38:35
Right back position for Cardoso is nothing new. He has to drift there all the time when Tav leaves the space open. He can get a shift on when needed too. Wilson comfortable as anyone in the team on the left side. Need to be more physical. Just saying the two are bad enough is poor from you Rick.
Cletus. Tavernier is an important player for us this year. But I feel he should be used as a right mid or winger, and let Candeias control the left flank.

08 Nov 2017 16:41:46
All I can say is remember when the bookies slashed the odds on RVP?

08 Nov 2017 17:08:00
GvB ain't going to happen I'm afraid. It's going to be McInnes and apparently the deal is done. They're just letting Aberdeen make headway on finding a successor.

08 Nov 2017 17:59:45
Yip if Minnie's deal was done and he wanted gers job why on earth would he sit on his ass waiting till the sheep finalise a deal for someone else I would be by see ya and walk from Aberdeen to govan

08 Nov 2017 18:18:50
I think we need a manager who can work on a shoe string budget. Gio would be great or even Bilic or Pardew but could these guys do a job with no money?

08 Nov 2017 18:31:53
GVB would be a bold appointment. I'll believe it when I see it! If so there must be money we don't know about

09 Nov 2017 08:33:17
I am sure a winger with any pace at all would really dread facing Wilson at full back. Not.

09 Nov 2017 08:41:58
Nassau_bear

4 centre halves as a back 4? That’s a terrible formation. Full backs are specialist roles where the players have to be mobile, reasonably quick and have a great engine. Neither Wilson or Cardoso fit that description

09 Nov 2017 09:58:31
Does shipping 13 goals in 12 games fit the description Stewie? The last 2 managers have faced the guillotine due to neglecting the backline. Failing to address the problem of poor defending of full backs. So far this season we have witnessed mediocre wing men such as Christie Elliot and Richard Tait create havoc amongst our defence. If these defensive failures continue, then success is further away than we think. I have faith that Derek McInnes would address this immediately however, and we would quickly see a huge difference in goals conceded.

Seemingly on the FF page that Billy Davies was seen going into Ibrox yesterday. I haven't seen this yet, just what one of my pals told me this morning.

08 Nov 2017 11:30:44
I truely hope not I feel sick thinking about that

08 Nov 2017 12:50:26
Probably a swingers thibg going on.

08 Nov 2017 13:28:06
Davies, wouldnae get a cleaners job at ibrox now.

07 Nov 2017 23:28:55
Mcinnes now 1/6 for the job, now bears let's get behind him no matter what.

08 Nov 2017 07:01:47
I hope McIness is named soon I wonder if Murty will be asked to be part of the senior coaching staff

08 Nov 2017 09:27:07
If McInnes is named then I’m behind him 100%, he will have a great honour and I’m sure he will prove to be a safe pair of hands.

My question to all the fellow bears who are championing McInnes is what are his minimum requirements?

I hope I’m not being to harsh/ unrealistic but I do not see a squad in turmoil at present or lacking quality so I would be looking for the following:

This season: 2nd place

Season 2 : 2nd place with minimum 80pts and decent crack at Europa league qualifying. (I can live with being beaten by a better team) .

Season 3: Europa league group stage and to be involved in a title race of some sort.

Season 4: As season 3 with signs of further progression.

I think these are pretty reasonable demands of someone who I don’t really fancy for the job!

08 Nov 2017 10:13:40
Wee_Bear - This season is a finish second. Season 2 - Europa league run, compete with Them and a Cup and in Season 3 we should be looking to win the league. that's just my opinion

08 Nov 2017 10:41:57
Sounds good to me Benny, are you in the McInnes camp?

08 nov 2017 10:48:14
i think he will be an amazing manager that not only get the best out of our players but will be very good with the media

08 Nov 2017 11:03:49
Never settle for second imo. A couple of results going the right way will change everything. They haven't felt any real pressure for 5 years except in the CL and see how that went. I just think that any Rangers team in Scotland should never ever target second place

08 Nov 2017 11:03:51
if its mcinnes who gets the job this is when we’ll see how good the players really are at present he is the 2nd best manager in the league so we should see if we actually do have the 2nd best squad a 2nd place finish and actually compete against celtic in the remaining old firm games would mark a massive improvement for me

08 Nov 2017 11:26:58
I agree seeker, I just don’t believe DM is the man to deliver what we want. What I was stating was hypothetical minimum requirements which I believe should stand if he is appointed.

What I’m looking for is for all the DM backers to give their minimum requirements to see what they expect of the man.

IMO we are perfectly positioned in the league for a run this season if the right man is appointed. We are scoring goals and the spirit is there. My main problem with McInnes is that we are appointing a man for Scottish football only. We need a manager who can deliver Group stage Europa League and develop young players.

08 Nov 2017 12:32:38
Point taken and well made, Wee Bear

08 Nov 2017 12:32:33
With the pressure on him to do well he won't last till June, especially when the sheep finish second above sevco by a good number of points, and the boys win the league by 20 plus points.

08 Nov 2017 12:37:28
If McIness is named as new boss, then I hope that Murty is a 1st team coach. I think he deserves it. McIness was not my 1st choice, but I will certainly give him support.

08 Nov 2017 13:20:57
TO Be honest the gap only 6 points and we have seen bigger leads thrown away in the past 20 years. Celtic dropping points at home, if we go on a run now beat the dons twice in a week then I would t write us off.

09 Nov 2017 08:32:26
McInnes 4/6 and van Bronckhorst 6/4. Mon the Gio!

07 Nov 2017 23:26:04
Excited to see who our new manager will be and for him to get a first win at home to Hamilton. Which if we do beat them it will be 3 games since PC left and 3 wins in a row which he could not do in 7 months.

I think Murty has filled in well but people are getting carried away it has been 2 very winnable games he has had in charge and last time apart from the draw at the piggery we had a couple of terrible results away.

I mentioned bilic on here a couple of weeks ago and think he would be an exciting appointment and feel he could get the best out of the underperformers which Pedro has brought in.

Mciness is the safe option and would almost guarantee to finish second this year. With a bit ofoney to spend he can get us much closer to them.

Think we should avoid mcleish at all costs. People are quick to remember his trophies but not so finishing 3rd in a two horse race. He inherited a very strong team from Advocaat and would have been shocking if he didn't win trophies to be honest.

08 Nov 2017 08:49:28
We won convincly in both these games and it was the desire to play for the manager that impressed me.
When was the last time we won against Hearts in Edinburgh.

08 Nov 2017 10:53:35
doesnt matter hearts have been in a rutt and have been for weeks that was a game we should win and thistle only put up a fight at their own ground
