i was reading rangers monthly and it says jelevic was looking forward to playing champs league football if we win league cos we automaticallly get group stages but u said other day tht we dont {Ed002's Note - The winners enter the Third Qualifying Round, as do the second placed team.}

Believable8 Unbelievable32

Not true ed you'v got that wrong the winner's go strait into the group stage's this year it's next year the winner's enter at the third quaifying round as do the runner's up {Ed002's Note - There is no point discussing this any more. There is a whole thread with links to the SPL site and the UEFA site that explain the same. Just try not to be disappointed.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I do apologise ed i'm the one that's wrong the winner's and the ru both enter at the third qualifying round next year i was clearly missled {Ed014's Note - I will pass that on to Ed002.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have to admit, I was under the impression that the winners went straight into the group stage as well. Something to do with our run in the 2008 UEFA Cup which boosted the co-eff.

Does it matter? jelavic said man utd were interested in him,shows the gash he talks at times.take 5 mill for him and let him go instead of causing scenes in public. WATP and if yous dont want to play for the CHAMPOINS then just leave

Agree0 Disagree0

If we win the league this year, we go into the third qualifying round for champions. If we get through that round, we then go into the play-off round. If we make it through that round, only then do we get into the group stages.

Agree0 Disagree0

But Im sure months ago we were all talking about Whyte investing up to 15 million to win the league cause the winners go into the group stage. I am positive this was the news going about. I believe you, Ed, but dont you remember the same story?

CC

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed get ur facts right spl winners 2011/2012 gain automatic entry to group stage. fact!!!! {Ed001's Note - not according to UEFA they don't, their site clearly lists the winners of countries ranked 13-15 and the runners up of countries ranked 7-15 entering the competition at the 3rd Qualifying Round. Scotland are ranked 15th. Also this link tells the story of how Scotland have given themselves 2 places in the qualifying rounds for the Champions League: http://sport.stv.tv/football/scottish-premier/rangers/230905-results-guarantee-two-champions-league-spots-for-scotland/ }

Agree0 Disagree0

I have emailed the SPL so I will tell you if they reply but i'm 90% sure ed is right

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the champs league spot was calculated on Scotland's rank a few seasons back( as out co efficient was high due ti gers reaching uefa cup final etc) that run to the final drops off Scotland's record this yr! So winners of league go straight to group stage this yr!

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012%E2%80%9313_UEFA_Champions_League

This states that the winners of the SPL (hopefully the gers) will enter at the third qualifying round and if we win that tie will then go into the play-off round where we will potentiallyface another winner from the 3rd qual round.

Agree0 Disagree0

ED im really confused i think your rgt but i was watching blues news 11th october one in the interview with kenny mcdowell the interviewer says tht we go straight through {Ed002's Note - The winners enter the Third Qualifying Round, as do the second placed team. Perhaps you should belive me and not all of these unreliable sources.}

Agree0 Disagree0

ED.. ur talking gash this time mate! winners go straight in next season due 2 rangers run in the uefa cup... a canne wait till the end of the season when we win the league! al be straight on telling u ur a muppet. {Ed001's Note - and I will be laughing at you for being wrong.}

heard from a very good source that we will be signing macheda from man united in january to play alongside jelavic because if big laffs isnt doing it then we have no back up big bluenose

Believable18 Unbelievable44

Maceda from man U HA HA HA oh thats right Fergie always does you lot a favour when ever he can lmao.I heard from a very good source that the taxman is after rankers.my source was everyone that can read HA HA what a moron. HA HA HA Macheda HA HA HA

Agree0 Disagree0

If big laffs isnt doing it? how many 1-0 wins has jellyfish got us this year?

Agree0 Disagree0

Heard this as well from quite a few people, wages not a problem as Man U will be covering them. Not convinced he would contribute much though, not really set the heather on fire after scoring a couple of goals has he.

Agree0 Disagree0

The taxman is the only thing that will stop Rangers from doing 4 in a row cos ra sellick wont beat motherwell for 2nd Place

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont think that would happen either, however the guy who is clearly a smeltic fan also clearly has nothing better to read about his own lot cause they are in just as much trouble as we are tax case or not, got a cheek to call anyone a moron. We will take 4 in a row get used to it pal. Rant over lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Laffertys record is something like 11 in 11 in the spl, i can see why you think hes not doing the buisness !! aye right
BALLYBOY

Agree0 Disagree0

Is that really his record 11 in 11? Thats really pretty good but then we have to see if laf can carry that form throughout the whole season.

Rangers to sign back Ross McCormack and Kevin Thompson
very reliable source

Believable11 Unbelievable105

Where is the money coming from to buy anyone?

Agree0 Disagree0

McCormack has been banging them in for leeds lately and we have loads of midfielders so cant really see it .but hey nothing is impossible. shaun h

Agree0 Disagree0

Glass legs thompson aye right

Agree0 Disagree0

If there is any buisness getting done in the window it is more likely players will be leaving,we all know there will be some very hard times ahead of us

Agree0 Disagree0

McCormack has declared his Celtic allegiance Thomson fitness and temperament problems wouldn't sign them even on a free

Agree0 Disagree0

Ross McCormack is sh*te, he got released because he wasn't good enough for Rangers. I'd love Chris Burke back though, great wee winger and loves the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Burke great winger ? loves the club ? What planet are you from ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Have to agree about burke spoke to him several times and know his aunty who works at glasgow airport well enough to say he is not and never has been a rangers fan .fab1

Agree0 Disagree0

I would never take thomson back, even through all his injury problems rangers stuck by him paying his wages then stuffed us the first chance he got so him and boyd are in same boat, they made their bed so they can lie in it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldn't like to see it happen, I think the club should be looking to blood some younger players while looking farther afield for some gems. also have a look at some young scottish talent i.e templeton and murphy. i know temps might cost a fair bit cos romanov is anti-old firm but worth an enquiry surely. maybe possibly the nxt time we play em at tynecastle to turn his head a little. any advantage would be good WATP

Agree0 Disagree0

Your signing no one ya dafties your going in to administration in november

Agree0 Disagree0

Burkes a partick thistle fan !!

i think rangers should sign David tempelton and Jamie Murphy 2 cheap options but they would be good signings i would say about 1 million for Murphy and about 1 million for tempelton 2 million for 2 players who would do well tempelton in the right mid and wylde on the left so we would have blistering speed on the wings and jamie murthy would gurantee 15 to 20 goals a season he can play along side jelavic or lafferty or Naismith which all good players so that would mean having four good strikers and if a couple of the strikers get injured we have plenty of back up oh aye if we go back in for cuellar that is another good thing as bartley will go back to his club in the summer AL tho i wouldn't mind if rangers bought bartley

Believable36 Unbelievable28

I really can't see Romanov selling us Templeton for 1 million mate!
Dmrangers

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha ha do u really think mad Vlad would sell his best player for 1million we had to pay 1.5m for Wallace he only had 6months left templeton just signed a new deal. Murphy don't rate him don't need him!

Agree0 Disagree0

They wouldn't get a game, so would be a pointless excerise.

Agree0 Disagree0

Templetons a Celtic fan

Agree0 Disagree0

Doesnt matter if hes celtic fan means nothin wot celtic fan hasnt played for rangers before ? remember if the price is right...wages pay the bills and buy flash cars and houses templeton would jump at the chance to play for the best team in scotland but hearts would want far to much money so cant see it happenin any time soon and murphy would be gd signin aswell but think motherwell would want more thn 1 million aswell he signed new contract remember...mind we couldnt pay 2 million for goodwillie from united so wot chance have we got gettin those 2

Agree0 Disagree0

Templeton doesn't care about Celtic, he got his football talent from his dad who's Rangers to the core and was a very similar type of player to him but didn't get the same recognition. He's said himself that he doesn't bother with the Old Firm since he's lived in Edinburgh. He would sign with the champions in a heartbeat and as for Jamie Murphy he is a Rangers fan and a great young player. WATP

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree both the players would do a job for us, but the price would be far in excess of 4 million for the pair and that is out of your reach at the minute, as for people being fans of other clubs, it makes no difference at all, burke played for celtic boys club and he used to love to beat the tic, the players go where the money is - simple as

Agree0 Disagree0

How do you know hw is a celtic fan?. The lads middle name is cooper. Would take T {Ed001's Note - he is a Celtic fan, his dad is a Rangers fan and the mother a Celtic fan. When they split up he stayed with his mother, and so he ended up a Celtic fan, despite his dad having named after a Rangers legend.}

Agree0 Disagree0

How do you know he is a celtic fan??
His middle name is Cooper.

Cracking player , would take Templeton anyday. Murphy im not sure about. Decent squad player {Ed014's Note - He is a Celtic fan.His father gave him his middle name after the great Davie Cooper but his parents split up and he grew up supporting Celtic along with all his mother's family.

Agree0 Disagree0

Couldn,t agree wi u more m8

Agree0 Disagree0

Templeton doesnt stay in edinburgh hes in east end of glasgow ...plus no bn at his best compared 2 last season
