Steven Smith has agreed in principle a 2 year deal to return to Ibrox.

Know a few people will be dead against this but I'd be happy to have a few experienced guys to help develop the younger players. (hopefully under a new manager!)

Ally and his 2 year deals with sliding increase in salary again. This will be the issue trying to get the wages under the new ceiling, all the dross Ally signed over the last year we can't get rid of and paying more for less until their two year contracts expire!

Smith is a left-back. sure he can play left-mid but is primarily a left back. If this rumour is true what does this suggest about Lee Wallace's position at the club next year?

Or is this yet another example of McCoist buying players for areas where we are already covered and not PRIORITISING the immediate ares of concern i. e. Right Back, 2 x Centre Halfs, Creative Midfielder, Striker

He was a good prospect but hampered by injuries. If he is coming back let's hope he is fully fit. We can't afford to bring in players with a long history of injury (same goes for Kevin Thomson)

If Smith is happy to warm the bench & isn't on ridiculous wages then now probs. We have no direct back-up for Wallace.

Cover for Lee Wallace is an absolute must. In fact I'd push Lee higher up the pitch

A bit injury prone in his last spell with the club, however we need a bit more experience in defence.

I'm sick of reading all this crap about 'hopefully with a new manager' and 'the dross ally signed'. He had no choice when he signed the 'dross' he brought in what he could, these players were not his first or probably second or third choice signings. Let him sign who he wants for next season and see if the team plays different. What did you all expect last season?

Completely agree with the above post. Many fans have clearly forgotten that we only received our license to play a day or two before our first match. Before that we couldn't sign players so Ally had a very limited time to build a squad. There are too many people on here determined to criticise the loyal few who stuck around after liquidation. I'd rather have them than the ones who abandoned us in our hour of need.
