My limited research on academy deals at 16 is only around 4K, so whilst I don’t doubt my source I will be very surprised

What's your thoughts john, on if this boy signs that he gets a start or at least on the bench for the Scottish cup games.
I know it's rare but if he is that highly rated. What's the old saying if your good enough your old enough.

The few that come to mind is Big DJ, Wayne Rooney, Ryan Giggs. If he gets to any sort of decent level then we could command a large transfer fee as it looks like there is several suiter down south, that's aware of him and will be keeping a close eye on him.

Atm from what I've seen from our unders there is several players that have a real chance. Why spend millions. How many times throughout the season are we costing in games.
Example 3 nil up Ross county 25 min to go get one of these boys on. I recon we should be naming one under in every match day squad or one squad per month at least, is that not what ajax do. it would also give the boys that aren't quite up to scratch an incentive to work harder.

They might not be ready straight away but being on the bench regularly and getting minutes when possible will help them adapt.

Perfect example is Young-Coombes making the bench for Brentford. Or Man U the other night in Europe playing several youth players. If we don't give them the opportunity we will never know what they are capable off. And we are probably all in agreement on here that we would rather see youth play than give minutes to Simpson or Barker who clearly have no future at the club.

If young rory does sign his first professional contract with us massive amount of respect for the boy, i heard a lot of big clubs were looking at him and I'm sure he would have earned a lot more money in another league, really hope it works out for him and he's a massive success for us, love to see a player showing commitment to us.

True blue we sold him for 100k, and I believe a 15% sell on.
Addons were debut, fee for reaching certain number premier starts, England cap according to their forum when they signed him.
Based on goals he has scored for academy and under 23 they think they have a big star in the making.
I watched him few months ago with England age group he stood out, second best player next to my grandson, I’m biased
Such a shame kid was homesick And desperate to play for a first team.

Thanks John. Brentford have a good record of developing talent as well so there's a fair chance some of those could be achieved.

I really hope Gio gives some of the younger players a chance. would love to see a few of the best and brightest involved more. Have you heard anything since Gio arrived about youth who could form part of 1st team squad for next season? Or is it pretty much the same names as when Gerrard was in charge? Thanks.
