Gerrard wants to sign Helander in the summer
not sure if this is genuine, what's everyone's
thoughts about this I've no idea about his current value and what we could get for him.
Just something that I was told about, John or others with good info you could let me know.

Given his injury record i'd be really surprised if Gerrard wants him. Good player when fit but not fit nearly enough. If someone comes in with decent money for him bite their hand off.

Love him but if we can recoup money or make profit then I would let him go and it can go into signing a defender who will play as often as Goldson or even giving him a new deal. We have Helander Balogun and Souttar. 3 defenders who you’re lucky to get half a season out of. Goldson should be priority. He makes the odd mistake but he’s ever present and tbh his god performances outweigh the mistakes.

Sell. We can't afford to keep someone who has managed:-
18 games in his first season.
31 games in his second season.
11 games in his third season.
Good player or not, it doesn't matter.
Goldson ( who plenty want rid ) has played over 200 games in 4 seasons.

John looking for gio to bring in young hungry players this summer, hopefully doekhi is one of them, I don't believe those January signings we made were his choices, looking for him to put his own stamp on the team this summer, I think gvb is an excellent manager and i'm delighted to have him at our club.

I'm now of the opinion we should try all we can to keep goldson if he goes were left with Soutter who's got to settle with questionable fitness Helander injury prone and balogun who. lacks pace so we'd prob need to bring in 2 new defenders with no guarantees they'd be successful.

I think primarily a 352, all the cbs we have extensive scouted play in back 3.
343 would be utilised depending on opposition, Gio has shown he is very adept at tweaking team during a game.

I would much rather that Gio just gave Wilson a list of the players that he wanted and then Wilson's job would be to bring them in and in the process to convince the Board if funds were needed.
I would also like to see us hold on to Goldson and if we can get our money back on Helander I would gladly let him go.

I believe that we need a number of quality new players given the number that are the end of their contract and are likely to go or that are just not good enough! We will also need to replace any of our top players that are sold with at least the same quality!

That's interesting John. Playing with two ST's has been described as outdated. I think is definately an option we should utilise more given how successful it has already been for us.
