Hearing this evening that celtic definitely want to sign lawrence shankland, with one of their players part of the deal ? Only sharing what i've been told guys ?.

I’m genuinely not fussed either way about Shankland.
I can see both sides of the argument why some would take him in a heartbeat and why others wouldn’t pay a certain fee.

They got knocked back by Aberdeen for miroski they said they would not sell too a direct competitor in Scotland
If rangers or celtic sign shankland
It will swing the league in their direction.

I agree Gaz it’s just media spin linking him to smeltic at the same time I wouldn’t be paying over the odds for shankland I think £2.5m would be my ceiling on the deal, just because we over paid for dressers and Danilo doesn’t mean we’re overpaying for everyone a line has to be drawn somewhere.

We need shankland more than them and I totally agree his goals could swing the league although the same could be said for plenty of strikers who actually see goal scoring as their primary job.

Shankland could wait til summer and get a transfer down South and make more money than at any old firm club, so not buying he would automatically go to them if not us if they bid, the boy will score more than Morelos could over a season in a blue top as well, having that in the team over the next four years is a no brainer but it’s up too the big man and he has my trust already.

SWS we cannot afford to not sign the most prolific striker in the spl. Given the position we are in just now and the fact none of our forwards are actual Rangers class we cannot afford to not sign Shankland. 3-3.5million to bring us a league title, champions league money and a cracking player.

dont agree mark, in fact i don't think miovski is particularly good, disappears for large parts and altho i can't be bothered checking stats i believe shanks goals speak for themself, wins lots of high balls, drags defenders all over because the know he can score or nod down very well and is a handful for anyone, i'm not sure miovski will ever be better than him, only my view tho, i'm surprised some like the aberdeen boy, i'm not one of them.

heres something which just might force hearts hand, at shanklands age he will be hoping to solidify his bank balance for the foreseeable future, should hearts refuse any offer from a higher ranking, paying club who offer him a very healthy 4 yr deal, and they stand in his way, they may have a very unhappy and less focused main player in their team, this is why i believe hearts will take a decent offer from rangers. along with another player or even two,
however celtic may also offer life changing money, shanks will be praying rangers do, but if not, and celtic came calling, that would be a shame, helluva decision for the boy.

Hearing and actually knowing are totally different things.
Yesterday we heard Celtic wanted Silva and by all accounts were favourites to get him. and guess what, he came to us. Celtic may well be interested in Shankland but they won't pay the so called big fee that's been banded about by some Rangers fans (on here) either. Also Shankland (when Kyogo returns from international duty) wouldn't be a starter for them imo so let's just see how it plays out.

It's all if, buts and maybes at the minute, so let's wait until the transfer window opens before jumping to conclusions about where he will go.
I rate the boy and want him signed, but in PC I trust. Had he not had any Scottish cohort in the Management Team, then I'd have said it's a non-starter.
As we've got Alex Rae, Steven Smith, Brian Gilmour and Colin Stewart bending his ear, I'm pretty positive that they'll be bending PC's ear to at least put the feelers out.

I wasn`t in favour of signing Shankland but after watching that today when Dessers again passed up simple chances and gave one of the worst centre forward displays we`ve ever seen, I would go and get Shankland now . He does everything better than Dessers and scoring our chances could be the difference between winning the league or not.
