The Danilo/ Dessers situation is a strange one to me, Dessers looks to have been our primary target despite Danilo being younger with more sell on value and just coming of a decent season. I was in favour of signing Dessers but i'd say Danilo is the far better option for the same (or less) cash than we were going to pay for Dessers. Ill be more than happy to miss out on our main target for a change ? unless we can get both of course ?.

Danilo over dessers for me all day long, better option for Beales tactics, dessers is more like colak in the sense he hangs around the box, Danilo will attack from anywhere he gets the chance in the final 3rd a complete forward so to speak.
We already have Roofe we don't need dessers.
Lets get Danilo and Maja finalised now, 5 mill for Danilo and Maja gor free amd attacks done, Cifu in and midfields done, Panzo and another solid CB amd the squads ready, then the duds clearout done and we are well in profit and ready to tear them apart again :)

Makes us a much bigger threat down the left than we are when Barisic is playing beacuse he isn't just going to cross at every given oppurtunity. Although its hard to judge a player when the pressure is off i think he really kicked on after playing well against the other mob at ibrox.

Did he really have a shocking season or did he really not get much chance to play? Looked ok when came back but then picked up some injuries.
All in all doesn't really matter as the player wants to move on and I always say I'd prefer a 100% committed player over a better skilled player anyday.
I'd be selling lundstrum as well unless he signs an extension to his current deal which is running into last year.

Beale said himself 2 players for every position. So we need 6 central midfielders. We have Jack, Lundstrum, Kamara, and Cantwell under contract for next season. However, I fully expect Kamara go, and apprently he wants to move. That means we would Linley bring in another 2 players for that area.
Rangers look to setup with a number 10 and that’s Cantwell. Apparently Cifuentes can play that role too (assuming he signs) . I think Dowell might have been signed for the RW since he’s a left footer and is best when he’s attacking. Beale said it’s the first time we’ve had a left-footer since Aribo who often played RW himself.

If we play the same system as this season we will play with two holding midfield players, we already have Raskin and Jack and it looks like Cifuentes, so if Lundstram is staying there is no room for another one never mind both the Dutchman quoted . Lundstrams contract is the big thing for me, I`m quite happy for him to get a new one but if he isn`t signing then he must be sold. We cannot allow another Kent / Morelos situation next season .

Kent and Morelos were two players in their mid 20s that we could've sold for millions. John Lundstrum is 29 and there is never been any real interest in him. We’re never going to get a big transfer fee for him, therefore we’re in no danger of losing a prized asset for free. I wouldn’t even call him a prized asset. There is no danger of repeating the Morelos and Kent mistake with him.

I think people really on big John lundstram. Think about it really! He is very versatile, always gets stuck in, chips in with a few goals (which is a big bonus for the role he plays), very rarely loses possession, picks out good passes more often than not, has a good interception rate. Am I missing something. I really don't get why he gets a bit of a hard time. Personally I would love to keep him around. Sure he's no flashy one bit but they has my backing!

I would definitely keep him, Clements dealt with the fitness issues of a few players, including Lawrence, so we won't see the long injury lay offs of the past.
Jack and Roofe will be allowed to leave imo. Hopefully Lundstram signs a new deal soon too.

The question we should be asking Is: Is the squad stronger than it was before the window open? YES, we've signed, by all accounts, 3 very promising players, kept Butland and Yilmaz. Time will tell if PC will regret not getting in another striker but it wasn't for the lack of trying.

Cifuentes is in the same scenario as Yilmaz. Needs a run of games to show what he can do. If we remember Yilmaz was getting written off on here, by some, saying he wasn't good enough after a few sub appearances, had an injury, played a game, missed some games. Now look at him.
