Good morning fellow Bears. Got my RST share certificate in the post today so what a good start to the week! Along with others who've posted, I think we must get McDowall out right now. A bit of a dilemma but why not let Smith and Magath run things until the end of the season and line up a new, younger manager for next season? I've a good feeling about the board with people like Gilligan and Park as directors. And before our green friends across the city start again about 'newco' rubbish, in 1994 they changed their trading company to a new name AND a new company number. The football club still existed but the company that ran it/owned it change. Ring a bell?

Why Smith? Football's outdated was never good with youngsters, not what we need.

They changed their trading company name to The Celtic Football and Athletic Company Ltd which was registered as a Newco on 11 October 1994. They then changed it again to Celtic FC Ltd which was registered as Newco number 2 on 24 September 2001.At the time that HMRC decided to put us into Administration Celtic had Net Current Liabilities amounting to £32.6m i.e. debts they couldn't pay whilst we had won 3 titles and were heading for No.4 with £18m of manageable debt yet we were put into administration before they were forced to go into administration. It was also noted that John Reid resigned from his position as a Director in 3 Celtic Companies and his position within the Revenue and M.P. just after Rangers were put into administration.

Strange turn from the OP but. 1. Celtic have never been in admin/liquidated therefore renaming the parent company is perfectly acceptable and is not comparable to gers situation assuming your referring club/comp argument, 2. HMRC never put yous in admin it was Craig Whyte, 3. Re John Reid there is abso nothing wrong with resigning as a Director of company, there is however something in accepted rules suspending anyone who was a Director of a liqudated concern for a period of 5 years from assuming a Directors role; and that doesn't even begin to touch on a convicted tax evader.

I think mr king shd just alloW someone else to take up the role and start rebuilding your reputation rather than continuing with the victim charade. Show some humility and the road back will be quicker.

BBM I think you are touching a NoNo bringing up Reid's association with the Tax People. Thankfully this is a Banters forum.

Whi cares what Celtic did or didn't do, I wish them all the best like I wish every club in Scotland (eexcept Dundee united)

'Show some humility and the road back will be quicker.'

What a load of b******* MB, if the fans of the other club's involved can't stop having a dig, why should Rangers bow down to them. They are incapable of letting things lie. Maybe they should try and move on too. It will be all the sweeter in the long run though.

Keyser. I think the point am making is at the core of your reply. Most other fans merely want the rules to be applied and not bent over to accomodate one club no matter how big that club is. Your insinuation that people should let things lie exemplifies a widespread belief of a lot of gers fans that shd be allowed to flaunt the rules because its rangers; and there lies a need for humility. Accept the rules yous were part of formulating and abide by them and other supporters will accept yoyr club has dropped this victim mentality that mr green did so well to create.

For the record I delibrately mention 'most and alot' to show there are persons on both sides of this argument that just can't see the damage to both clubs. I also think Mr Greig being invited to the game could be the start of gers rebuilding purely in the act of inviting the man.

Well if that is your view things will just keep going round in a big circle, everyone blaming someone else. It has to work both ways. Speaking for myself I don't want any special treatment.

Yaaaaawwwn! You say black they say white. Grow up and move on people. Rangers will simply be whatever each individual wants them to be. However, the simple fact is there is still a Rangers playing out of Ibrox and if that's all you want then fine. This new company/club argument is an utterly futile argument with nobody willing to conceed any ground. I'm more interested in what kind of Rangers this is going to be. Show me a modern, progressive European club developing youth with entertaining football and sign me up. However, if it's just going to be the same living beyond their means, bitter fans with a bigoted songbook then you can keep it.

Bay as much as I agree with your post, I also see kzs point, fans are always going to keep chipping away at there rivals, and although I think its sometime to close to the bone, it will continue for ever, as there would be no rivalry without it, imo, cause if we all agreed it would be a boring world, imo
