Ok here are 2 scenarios!

Warburton is told we are skint so there is very little money for transfers. Regardless of this he goes and blows approx. £130k (guestimate of combined wages for Gostomski and Forrester) on 2 6 month deals on positions we are not struggling in and then can't afford cover for positions we need filled?!?!

OR

We are merely being prudent. Either not just throwing money at these people or sourcing alternatives. e. g Warburton thinks O'Halloran is the best we could get for £300k but when the price sticks at say £600k he feels there may be better players available and has another look around?

I'm going to say option 2!

why are we going for Ohalloran in first place 500k 600k mark would be better putting this towards the player from Brentford that we after
we need the dm more i can only assume warburton is going play Ohalloran as main striker because we certainly do not need any more wingers i would save the money and go for the latvian lad and dm from brentford this is getting a bit embarrassing when manager said two deals where close yet getting near end of of following week there is still no news an one clubs say there are no new bids in for there player our chairman promised to back the manager so far in this window we are yet to see it.

Im hoping its option 2, and to be fair its the more logical one, warbs has such a good eye for bargain talent and like you said, them sticking at the higher valuation would have made him think of others, like mw always says, they don't just look at one option, there's always a first, second and third so i guess he'll be out having a proper look at other targets, he will come good bears.

I like your observation for option 2, never thought about it that way before! I'm sure there's plenty of players worth £600k that could br better. Not to knock O'Halloran or anything.

My opinion for what it's worth all clubs are looking at what prices we have previously paid so pricing high. Warburton has identified players stated his valuation and won't pay above that. He would rather go elsewhere than overpay for players.
Will judge our dealings at end of month not now when we really have no idea what is going on behind scenes.
What I can say it's a joy to watch the performances on the field and I have watched a lot of greats over 50+ years following our great team.
