While most people would agree that it is horrible to see the demise, financial or otherwise, of a football club I think we a can all agree that Dundee United are an exception.

The way that Thompson acted when we had our brief hiccup was scandalous. This was a man who didn't even want Rangers to be able to play in the bottom division,

Now four years on, We are back in the Premier League, in a Scottish Cup final;possible Europa League next season and the future looking bright.

They on the other hand have just sacked 22 players, managerless and are the price of a pint away from administration.

I distinctly remember at the time saying this will come back to bite some people and that is exactly what has happened.

hahahaha.

Good to see that world famous humility is back.

Well said 100% correct thompson is a waste of space had his own agenda against us backfired big time.

JFC, absolutely spot on mate!

Now, how's this for an idea!? We buy the Arabs for peanuts, (not what that snake in the grass Thompson reckons they are worth! ) and send all our young, up and coming talent there on loan, gaining first team football, whilst gelling as a team, in a half decent league! ( let's face it, it's been more entertaining than the premier league this year!

Thus, carrying on the tradition of United being a feeder club, but this time around it would be benefitting us rather than the manky mob!?

Any thoughts on this?

Don't worry lads, I haven't lost the plot, it is the banter page after all! 👍🏻😂.

Poetic: What do you expect? Thompson was a shark who took glee in our demise and wanted more of our blood. Humility doesn't come into it.

Poetic,
Don't know about humility being back but its nice to see you back. Any particular reason for your hiatus for the last couple of weeks?

Aye it is extremely difficult to be sympathetic when you consider how much enjoyment Thompson took out of our club's plight. Wonder if the patient would have reacted had it been his club in our predicament.

I agree with posts I, e Thompson but its a sad day when
one of our bigger clubs are about to go under
some talk about creating bigger leagues we don't have enough decent teams in Scotland to create more than one league
this is only highlighted by the signing of a Liverpool
youth player for 25ok as great and before every one starts
I know you have don't to spend big to get good players.

Even before all the stuff that him and Dundee utd were rats. Feel sorry for the players not their fault but he's sold every descent player at the club then sacked the manager lol. His father was the same.

Scotjo-

Alot of people took glee (rightly or wrongly) in your demise. Personally, I take no pleasure in a number of people being made unemployed - especially in this financial climate. I don't see why you should. I fail to see what it gets you. Just my opinion.

JFC-

I've been around. And I was certainly around in the aftermath of our defeat, a few guys on here will testify to that. I came on, took my licks and gave you all the credit in the world. To be honest, it's been mostly transfer talk from there on out.

Seeker-

No need to wonder. I can answer that. If my club was in your predicament, I'd be more concerned with what was/ is going on behind my own doors, than the fact that some people were taking glee in it. As I said above, I take no joy in anyone being made unemployed in a country were foodbanks are becoming more and more prevalent. The fact is, and this won't be popular I'm sure, this whole revenge type talk is exactly why a demographic took glee in your demise. I don't say that lightly. My best friend is a Rangers man, and season book holder, and the goings on broke his heart. I empathize. I also empathize with all the businesses that suffered and/ or went under because of what was going on at Ibrox. Again, it comes back to humility. The team has down well, especially this year (so credit to that) but when your first instinctupon success is to say:

-WE'RE BACK
-YOU'LL PAY FOR X
-YOU DESERVE Y

Etc, you'll see why I think it's a little insensitive, and counter productive. You are starting as you mean to go on - aggressively. And that's fine - just don't be surprised when people then take glee in your demise.

Each to their own I suppose.

Additionally, if your last comment about "where was he? " is in relation to me, see above. I was here, on the Sunday night and a few days later giving Rangers credit and taking the hits.

Leven-

In a thread about another team, you mention I'm obsessed. In the same thread, another poster mentions I haven't been on the board for a while. I'll let that percolate with you until you see the error of your statement.

Keep it going poetic, it is funny, but not in the way you think. xx.

If only we lived in a perfect world poetic. Everything you've said could be levelled at all the teams (including yours, in fact mainly yours) who laughed at our demise.
I think you'll find its out overwhelming success rather than our attitudes that brings on the hatred, all the most successful teams are treated like this.
I think after all the jokes and wild statements flung at our club over the last 4 years we are more than entitled to laugh at the likes of Dundee Utd and you's who were the most vocal against us. This is not revenge, it's Karma!

Common sense and articulate well reasoned conversation will only get you so far I see.

As I said before, each to their own.

Poetic: Difference is they are relegated, they ain't going to lose livelihoods anywhere at the club.

Scotjo-

I really don't want to get into a debate about this. Half of you think I'm at the wind up, the other half don't agree. Fine. That's your privilege.

One thing though, my initial response was to comments such as this:

"They [have just] sacked 22 players, [are] manager-less and are the price of a pint away from administration. "

I'm pretty sure that would not only suggest people losing their jobs/ livelihoods, but also that you (the general you) are taking delight in it. That was my original point of contention.

But like I said, I don't want to get into a debate about this.

21.) 07 May 2016
07 May 2016 18:35:41
Poetic: You are doing your best to get into a debate then, I know nothing of anyone losing jobs, I simply found them getting relegated rather amusing after all the stuff he threw at us, so stop jumping the gun thinking you know what we are all thinking.

22.) 07 May 2016
07 May 2016 19:13:26
Does anyone else think that thepatheticpatient is a a closet United fan? I know they are their feeder club but this really has touched a nerve.

For someone claiming not to get into a debate, he isn't half getting into a debate about it.

If he can't see why we are laughing at United then he that makes it even funnier.

Like Cullin72 said, funny but not in the way you think.

I don't think you know what some of those words mean. I'm assuming as much - it's either that or your deliberately making mistakes. Either or. Good luck to you.
