Seeing a lot of people suggest Hodson should go back into the starting XI for Saturday. Personally, I don't think Hodson's the answer to our problems. He's good in 1v1s, but that's not where we were beaten. We were beaten in midfield, where none of our players got near them as we were outnumbered, outmuscled, outpassed and outran. I think Tav and Beerman (or Wallace if fit) are far better footballers than Hodson, we just need to swap one of our non-goalscoring forwards (Garner or Waggy) for someone who will participate in a midfield battle, or will help us keep possession long enough to create opportunities.

Could not disagree with you more. a defenders first job is to defend and Hodson is a better defender than tav. I watched him play against a very strong German team and hold his own. He should be drafted in against Celtic this weekend. Tavs tackle on Sunday was like a school boys tackle. Sliding in like that in the box.

Couldn't agree more that challenge from Tavernier was idiotic there was no way he was making that tackle and to dive in like that was incredibly naive.

That tackle was the only mistake tav made he was one of if not our best player he was the one getting in the mankies faces if you think I'm wrong then rewatch the game

It was a major incident in the match though he didn't need to make that tackle and there was no way he was getting to the ball. If you think I'm wrong watch the incident again

I agree that challenge was reckless and stupid, but he made it in an area where any one of the LB, CBs or GK should have been there before him. He covered ground, defended well (bar the penalty slide tackle) and got forward to put in good crosses as well. Regardless, I think it's more important to drop Garner/ Waggy and strengthen what was a toothless midfield.

To be fair to Tav he isn't a rightback, He really needs to be moved into the right mid spot. it would be like a new signing.

Would agree about Garner and Waghorn they should be dropped from a plane not just the team. 2 utterly useless individuals its cringeworthy that we paid £1.8m for Garner. Let's hope neither are anywhere near the team on Saturday
