Lot of us in here talking like we got thrashed last night!

What game were you watching?

Very even balanced game and the result was right.

They are there to be taken for me. Their back line look nervous and frail out in the wide areas. If we had sat higher I think we would have caused more issues.

Some comments stating how bad our game clearly is and that this is a big step up! Eh really? PSV are better than Dortmund and RB? Stop talking out yer backsides.

Only issue for me last night was Gios subs! Wright ahead of Rabbi? Not for me! and Kamara looks like he wants away.

I would have put Rabbi and Arfield on. Scot would have had joy against that defence for me.

Anyway far from over and some need to get a grip as per!

Matondo lacks a little discipline when it comes to tracking back - so assume that's why Wright got the nod last night.

Also think Arfield for Davis would have unbalanced the middle of the park.

Will be a different game on Wednesday as I expect them to dominate possession and us to counter - so hopefully see Matondo unleashed then.

In my humble opinion we played a, good standard and pace to our game last night . Concerns for me are . Goalkeeper . I'm uneasy about his distribution from the back quite often even players don't look comfortable with his distribution. I've said before we need to invest in a proper out and out No 1 to allow, us to compete in all areas, of the field with top European teams . we are also too often out of position for set pieces not sure if that's purely bad planning or if we lack central defence quality hope defence will improve with Davies coming in to the fold regularly. Souttar was never a 1st choice for me and sands is still a work in progress.

For the return leg experience is crucial. Kent, Colak, Morelos, Lawrence, Davis, Arfield. Mistake to play Tillman he’s not experienced or mature enough. I’m worried Gio will not pick the right team and make the wrong substitutions makes me question if he is the right person to manage Rangers.

Shagger has appalling distribution so I’m sorry just can’t agree with that assessment in the slightest. McLaughlin is extremely calm at the back with ball at feet, last night a little too calm and made a couple of risky passes.

Other than that he was excellent and pulled off a remarkable save by charging out. So there are no issues with him for me.

People need to drop their fairytale love for Shagger.

One could argue the defence has improved on quality, yet it has not had a chance to play together.

GDog do you seriously think Soutter (never fit), Davies (can't get fit) and Sands (a midfielder playing defence) is better than Balogun and Bassey? Couple that with Goldson starting the season like a bomb scare.

Gdog I thought that saves, made last night were the saves, you expect your keeper to make definitely not out of the world saves. do you think JM is the keeper we need at the levels we aspire to be at? and by the, way putting Shagger back as, No 1 is not the way forward either we should have invested in a No 1 at least 2 seasons ago but instead we held off hoping someone would come through the ranks before Shagger started to reach the tail end of his career.

Our defence is always at risk from corners and dead balls, lats night was no different. Sands might be a good quality midfield player but he isn't a centre back, hopefully Davies is the answer because we need a Butcher / Gough style of centre back and last night's pairing don't come close.
As for goalkeeper, sorry but McLaughlin just isn't the answer. He is hesitant, he isn't great at clearing his lines and he hasn't shown any signs of being a top quality shot stopper. I don't believe that his defence has any great confidence in him.
Don't get me wrong, this is not a plea to bring back McGregor. We should have gone out and acquired a top quality keeper to replace McGregor, we didn't and if we don't before the end of August then we need to live with the consequences.

Not having keeper argument. I think people are just in love with Shagger.

He NEVER came for crosses EVER! His distribution is mince! So far JM hasn’t really had to pull out big big saves! So time will tell on consistency but he can do it.

GP - sorry but I’ve se n plenty of keepers failing to rush a striker and make their body large enough to stop a goal. That save was excellent and not evry keeper would pull it off. Shagger would have for sure!

Sweep I love Balogun I would bring him back! But Davies is a great defender. He’s just arrived and your saying he’ll never be fit! Ridiculous!

Gio should have dumped Helandar and kept Balogun. But there is money in Helandar potentially.

I only recall Sands being beaten on a header once (? ) Tillman was guilty on the first not Goldson as many suggest. A defender should be on that front post instead of Tillman but that then leaves the centre of the box exposed! So Balogun would have plugged this. However so will Davies when he’s fit.

Reading the above comments, as we obviously got hammered off the park by PSV, we should throw the towel in and tell Uefa that our Fans don't think we're good enough for this level. If I was Gio, I would ask the ED to run a pole on here for next weeks team, as he himself is obviously not as switched on as the Forum Members. Come on guys, lighten up a bit, that wasn't a bad result last night against a very good team, and please, stop all the Shagger and Alfie love in's, Allan is not fit enough nowadays, and Alfie doesn't appear to give a toss. We're on the right lines, I do agree we need a dominant Centre Half, as Goldson is only still here because nobody came ion for him.

Hi Gdog I'm not disagreeing that it wasnt a decent save but I'd be very dissapointed if my keeper hadn't made that save as, its an expectation at the highest level to be able make thstctype of save as standard . I understand the point about Shagger as we all focus on his shot stopping and not his lack of desire to command his box luckily most of his rangers career he has, had decent central defenders in front of him but we lack that quality now from what we've seen.

We would have really struggled to replace goldson had he went . A great bit of business keeping him . Give the defence a chance sweep . Souter . Davis at least give them some sort of chance before whipping them . One or two average games from certain players and you are down on them like Acton of bricks .
Have a little bit of faith man . PSV are a great team and we matched them for large parts of that game .
We are missing Bassey and Joe but it’s early days.
