Very well written article

Can I ask do you work on the Board?

only point I didn’t agree with was the inexperienced squad
He’s had an experienced squad to pick from apart from young king to play all season
goldson was part of the playing squad up until his injury which was around the 4th October if memory serves me right

only main players who he has really missed is
hagi
Helander (although he has never been a main stay in the team since his arrival due to injuries and Being overlooked at times even when available when balagun was here
Lawrence I feel is a miss although he only joined this season and was still finding his feet but was playing well
Morelos hasn’t really been a miss when he was injured as we still went all the way to the Europe final without him being available and even since he has came back is a bit part player due to Colak doing so well up front since he came in so colak has proved to be the first pick so far

So in reality we have missed a potential 3 players

Jack also has been a bit part player due to his injuries and never a long term pick in the team
Kamarra hasn’t also been part of Gio plans since he took over with his playing time taking a massive hit even when available?

Out with your comments on inexperience everything g else was very well written
Doesn’t comment on Morelos and Kent’s contracts and whether they should be offered new ones on merit or whether there definitely leaving us and what sort of money we may be able to recoup?

and could the runouts be true The Gio has possibly lost a majority of the dressing room?

Sorry my reply all over the place at work and not got time to put in a better response but U should get the gist of it

Thanks ??.

Thank you for the constructive feedback. I hope many others can have a read and open up some dialogue too. The negativity and toxicity within the majority of the fan base is of pure emotion at the moment and if this spills onto the park it’s not going to inspire the players to raise their game at all. It will do the opposite. We all want the team to prevail and we need to all collectively show why we are known as the best fans in the world and get behind this board who are putting the future of the club first which as tough as that is to accept as we all want instant on field profession we may need to accept the bigger picture here.

Let me clear up the “inexperienced players” comment as I can see I may not have explained this well.

We currently have an 18 year old and a 22 year old playing at centre back for us. Our cover at full back comes in the form of 21 year old Turkish left back Ridvan Yilmaz who doesn’t speak the language ans is here alone without family. Adam Devine at right back.

Back to James sands again. Learning a new position in the middle of the CL group stages.

Tillman, Matondo, McCann, Lowry and Ure are all still learning their trade. Same could be said for Fashion and scott wright who are still adapting to life at a top club with such high expectations.

I would like to add - in terms of management experience Gio is still relatively young and learning all the time too. He is nowhere near the finished article as a manager.

I would like to see Gio given time with either some new players or those returning from injury. For me CB’s need to be solid and using 5th and 6th CB’s with no experience and no real height is always going to be a challenge at set pieces. Also some of the mistakes at times from sands and king is worrying though appreciate king is young and sands is not really a CB. Balogun release was madness and we are paying for it now. Also kent and Alf not exactly ripping it up. Difficult for Gio but I thought he was immense for us in euro run and with a fitter squad and a decent CB or 2 I think he may see better results. If after players return or more signings are made and we are still this bad then of course he has to go. League gone anyway in my opinion and a new manager will not change anything short term. So for me I’m behind Gio for now and look forward to seeing him with more quality to pick from or if he screws that up then easy decision to move for a new manager (Feb approx giving new guy time to bed in) ?? ????.

Thanks for that KH interesting read. Still on the fence with Gio but good to see that loyalty still exists in football. When sitting watching Rangers at the moment it’s easy to get caught up in the performances and results and shout for Gio to be sacked but it must be difficult in the boardroom to actually sack someone. I know this is something they should be prepared to do but very rarely does a club sack a manager as soon as the fans start calling for it. I would imagine that he has a certain point to turn things around and I would be happy if he managed it once he gets all his players back. In all fairness to him I don’t think many other clubs could cope with the injuries we have had to deal with which ironically is probably keeping Gio in a job. Hate hearing people say that it wouldn’t bother them if Rangers got beat as it would get rid of Gio quicker as I believe whilst he is manager we as Rangers fans should be supporting him.

With respect Henry, but as soon as I read the "in terms of management experience Gio is still relatively young and learning all the time", that ruined your post for me. He's been in management for 7 years now. He's no novice!

{Ed033's Note - Nevertheless, Gio is still relatively young and learning all the time. :)

Young and inexperienced - what a load of bollocks - he is not young not inexperienced but is useless - how he was given the position is beyond me and i am sick and tired of the same crowd making excuses for him - an incompetent devoid of tactical nous excuse for a Rangers manager go now please.

I received my AGM pack in the post today so should make some interesting and positive reading - unfortunately nothing that I read will deter me from my opinion about our current manager - the longer he stays the worse it will be - i am reliably informed he will not be in charge for much longer - we can only live in hope - i think on gameday 15 last season we were sitting top of the league and 7 points clear of the other mob.1 year on and where are we? say no more.

With you 100% on that Gregory.

Ed033, I agree that he's learning all the time (even the best are still learning all the time), but he's not some wet behind the ears, novice. He's been involved in management for 7 years, and If he hasn't learned how to set a side up against teams who will attack after all this time, then do we really think he'll learn moving forward? I don't mate! I wish I was wrong, I really do!

{Ed033's Note - It's likely that if Gio was an excellent manager, he wouldn't be at Rangers though, right?

100% Ed033. Some might disagree, but you've nailed it there.

Good post Henry. I really like your point with regards the loyalty and trust being shown by the board.

Personally this is the type of club I want my Rangers to be. Want us to be better than the Chelseas and Watfords of this world who I really hate.

I also believe it makes the club more attractive to any potential new manager, knowing they will not be scapegoats at first sign if trouble.

Absolutely sick and tired of people on here supporting the manager - he is useless and we will never improve under him and his rubbish tactics - he has to go - i can only hope my information is correct and he will be gone - remember i told this site that gerrard was gone on the Monday night 3 days before he resigned but of course i was told he was in London to commentate on the England game on the wednesday night - and what happened he didn't commentate on the England game and resigned on the Thursday - i hope my source is correct about the current manager as he needs to go now.

Really John? He may have done it in the europa league couple of games but why don't you look back at my previous posts saying he should never be appointed because of his track record - why don't you post that? i'm a shareholder and have had 2 season tickets since 1972 so if you would like to discuss anything with me I will be coming to Scotland for the game on 2nd January glad to meet you in person anywhere to discuss it as you are the snowflake who took offence to my post about Wales bombing Ukraine out the World Cup.

Gregory everyone is entitled to their own opinion so you can be sick and tired of that all you like.

John I honestly don’t see why anyone would do that very strange but he is entitled to change his opinion also.

I’m in the camp I think he needs to go for the only reason is I don’t think he can turn it around and I don’t think his style of play for some reason this season in any completion has worked

although I like your post and reply kinghenry

I also liked your reply TommyGun on what you want Rangers to be and keeping mangers and backing them I agree with you I’d like that too

but unfortunately this manager just isn’t my cup of tea anymore and he’s been found wanting and the players aren’t playing for him anymore if players aren’t playing for the manager it’s usually the manager who goes first I don’t think Gio shows enough emotion for oour club and being an x player I would have expected more passion from him which I don’t feel we get at all
therefore I’d like him to go with best wishes and for us to install a manager we all can get behind and push the playing squad forward and help the club move forward
sometimes a fresh approach is needed and I feel we’re at that cross roads right now

but enjoyed both your articles today guys ??.

Gregory, are your posts for real or are they a spoof?

Something a wee bit sinister in your suggestion that you’d like to meet John to discuss ~ bit like, I’ll be waiting for you out back ?.
