Any one think Cantwell may be using us to get a move down south somewhere, Norwich says he is talking to other clubs, if we want him better get things moving.

If we want him it will involve money - which we seem unable to conjure up.
More likely a summer signing, BUT would not be surprised if it doesn't happen at all.
Never mind the B team now has a squad of about 30 ;-)

From reports I think we are just negotiating a fee to get Cantwell now and that takes time. There are a lot of good players who are free agents in the summer. I hope we are working on Ross Stewart for either this window or at least the summer when his contract expires appears he is unhappy with Sunderland’s contract offer. A Sunderland fan told me at the start of the season he had been unreal for them and it appears he is banging in the goals in the championship too, would be a great signing for us in my opinion.

Brw11 I thought Sunderland can extend his deal by a year tho I don’t know the ins ad outs of how it works between the player and the club.

Brw Stewart has been playing outstanding the last few years, if Morelos goes that is who I would like signed, It will be his agent wanting a better deal, his club can extend is for another year and nothing he can do, boy loves Rangers, was hearing that he was getting linked with Rangers when gvb was manager last summer, can't see it happening but he would be my cf choice for us, out any cf linked or here.

i understand that, but the agreement must be in the original contract/ agreement. therefore they have both signed to the affect that both have that option, however you will have a very unhappy player if you enforce the contract against his will,

{Ed001's Note - it can depend. There are different types now.

There are those that automatically activate in the event a player meets a certain criteria ie number of appearances.

Then there is the club option, which the club can choose, or not, to activate at their discretion and the player has no say in it. They are particularly used in the lower leagues and in MLS football as well. There is rules against those being used for profiteering though, so you can't extend them simply to make money from a sale. It has to be because you intend to keep the player in your team.

Then there is the player option, where the player can choose to have it extended at his behest. They are very rare and I can not remember a single instance of one off the top of my head, but I do know it is possible to do.

I think that is all of them but I am doing this off the top of my head so I might have missed one or more.}
