Well fellow bears just like i said all along and now i've read an article from mark hateley stating the same today ? Hateley said the main reason on gerrard walking out of rangers at the first opportunity was because of a breakdown in relations with the ibrox board members ? Hateley also states rangers need a boardroom shake up!

Walter, this is old news, we've known why for ages why sg left.

Walter hateley wrote int months ago, it was one off many reasons.

I also think Hateley has an axe to grind with some of the board! Did they not bag him from his ambassador role? Also, is he not D King's mate?

For me the current board are trying to balance a business approach whilst keeping a winning team. In the last 3 years winning the league, cup, europa league final and champs league qualification has kept the pressure off and could be argued is a successful spell. 2nd gets champs league qualifiers and being seeded we should be at least guaranteed Europe league. so objective business head says that is plan. Invest in other avenues at this time. Stopped 10 in a row. However I think now we need to invest but more importantly change the squad. Out of the starting 11 on Sunday the CH’s and maybe Tillman I would keep. Sunday was another 1998 cup final moment for me. Father time catch up for a squad of players. Also to be honest I’ve moaned about Jack and his injury, yet time and time again he comes back and shows he is our No1 holding player. Put 2 players of quality beside a fit Jack, that’s a midfield. As for 10, lawerence if he comes back is that player. We badly miss a player who want to take pop.

This current board have done a fantastic job stabilising our club financially, I don't want them going around spending millions, I've witnessed one financial meltdown in my life, I don't want to see another.

Ffs just bringing up old articles to try and prove a point and the end of the day it’s just his opinion like everyone else’s.

I am aware that Gerrard had a major issue with one director, probably the most unpopular one, but this is old news. I would have thought most fans already knew this.

Not all fans knew it tavsonloyal because i posted this on here and what i was told when gerrard left villa and was told by quite a few that this wasn't the case as gerrard was leaving for family reasons and these guys on here know who they are and should be honest and own up!

Walter one off the reasons gerrard left was the bt fiasco, he did not go for a single reason

That was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

Your post is very confusing, not sure what u r saying.

John, you are 100% correct. There were more than one problem between Gerrard and the board. From disagreements on their feud with the authorities, BT/ Sutton the whole media relations, transfers etc. However, regardless of how many issue there were, when Villa came knocking, he was always going to leave.

Sir Walter I watched the Gary Neville podcast when Gerard was on it and he was asked the question why he left Rangers and the reasons he gave where to be closer to his family and an opportunity to work in the premiership. The only person I read that said it was a bit more than those reasons was from our current Manager who posted on one of his social media platforms was "you don't know what's going on behind closed doors" or something along those lines.

I had it on good authority John27 the Gerrard's main reason for leaving at the first opportunity was because of certain boardroom members nothing confusing there mate ?.

Tloyal, I take it you are referring to Park Jnr who no one seems to rate?
Also John I am not sure what bt fiasco was? Could you explain that please.

How can anyone watch Sundays game and say that they would only keep the two CHs and Tillman . Tillman was awful again and showed that he can`t handle the big games . Maybe he will as he gets older but to pay £6 million for a guy who won`t work for the team and gives up when he loses the ball. No chance. Tavernier was Rangers best player on Sunday and although the cross came from his side, surely the other mobs full back should be tracked by either lazy boy Tillman or rent a mouth Sakala .

Wslger, Tillman's fee I believe is around 3/ 4 million, it's clear the boy has the ability to succeed in the spl, he's still young, give him time to work on his game.

Walter keep believing, he wanted away from the bigots who bury their head in the sand,

When rangers refused to let Sutton and Lennon int ibrox to commentate on a European match

Just way you wrote it Walter, u miss out words.

I'm no fan of Sutton or Lennon, but that move from our board was petty, tensions had become strained between sg and the board, for one reason or another it happens at most clubs.

cant believe we are on here discussing mutton and popcorn teeth, i would not let the two of them in glasgow never mind ibrox, pair of absolute dumplins.

Any successful Business adds new blood to the Board from time to time and most successful Businesses have strong investment.
From my understanding of the Rangers Board recent past and present, one of the main problems, (albeit not an investor), has gone, the other is Parks Jnr., and for me Parks Sent., lacks the dynamism to take Rangers forward.
We need change and we need new blood and new investment.

I posted at time gerrard left that the straw that broke the camels back was banning Sutton and lennon from doing there job. On top of other issues gerrard believed this showed a pettiness from the board, and that there was a deep rooted bigotry problem in our boardroom.

Mark 44, the fee I see bandied about is £6million but even if you are right why would we pay £4million for a young boy who can develop into a SPFL player. If we pay that kind of money we need it be on the finished article who will be an important first team player. Development projects need to cost a lot less than that, like Aribo and Bassey . At the moment he is a show pony, who gives up too easily when he loses the ball. If we could get another years loan I would take it but wouldn`t spend that kind of money on him right now.

4ever read the rest of the post. I said Sunday was a 1998. Tag has been here too long. Hall of fame my arse. I also said maybe Tillman. I wouldn’t keep kamara, lundstrum, Kent, Alfie, McGregor and our two full backs. If we do we will be in the same position next year. 1998 was mentioned because I believe we need that much change.

There was some talk about Jim McColl being interested in buying the club, but it went quiet again quickly as if there was no mileage in it. Does anyone know anything about this.
