Dowell, Sterling, Sima to be given minutes hopefully when we are up by a couple of goals. Potentially any youth not in Holland also. Would love a convincing and confidence building win. With much needed goals from our forward line.

I would start Sterling, Ridvan if fit, Davies if fit, Balagun, Lundstam, Dowell and Matondo. Think giving lammers and dessers a start is a good idea though.

We have a big squad and a home game against a lower league side in the cup is the time to use it and also give some of these guys a chance to impress.

i agree with that john, both fb ?
but i would have matondo and ask him to be the focus, to run in behind at every opportunity to see how he does, but i would say it isn't always easy to throw a fringe player in against inferior opposition and expect him to suddenly stand out. players like matondo need games and to be a regular team player, not a game every month.

We could do John it would good to see Sterling play from start and possibly Devine. I'm not sure on Yilmaz availability but if he's fit he starts. Think Goldson will sit it out no sure if he's 100% and put in a shift through the week.

Tom who would u leave out for Matondo? I like a player with pace but with them sitting in he might struggle, we could start him uptop with either Dessers or Danilo or go 1 CF and two wingers and play him on the wing with Lammers the otherside.

With the lineup I selected was thinking minutes together and hopefully lifting these guys with some goals before the big one against PSV.

I previously said I’d play Roofe but I think I’ve change do my position on that. Dessers and Danilo both need games and goals to get upto speed and if we’re tryna offload Roofe it’s best not to play him.
And with rice yfeko etc not being in Holland then would go with

Given the effort levels midweek, I would be tempted to rest full backs, Cifu and Raskin. Yes, we have a big squad so we have to use it and trust it. Looking ahead, in November and December we have 11 league games and 7 are away - ending in the Old Firm on their midden. Throw in three European ties and you can see that a large and STRONG squad is needed. Also, our new front men need to start firing as we cannot afford to fall further behind at this stage given what awaits. Let's be honest, if it wasn't for the stuttering start to the new front men's Ibrox careers, we wouldn't be clamouring for Matondo. In his favour, his attitude has been good and is worthy of consideration.

I saw that Banfield did the press conference, the way he spoke, sounded like beale wants to put out the strongest team possible, didn't sound like tinkering with the team much?
