just watched second half on some Brazilian channel, we looked very impressive, high pace, high pressing game, four excellent goals (haven't said that for a while! ) we definitely dominated possession, let's keep it up!

Can anyone tell me the last time a Rangers side came back from 2-0 down to win a match?

Dodoo never given a fair crack of the whip by the breadman, let's hope Pedro can see something in him and gives him a chance, must have impressed today,

I would play dodoo over garner every day of the week. One plays football the other just runs about causing mayhem

2.) 09 Apr 2017 19:04:31
Dodoo is a natural, play him and we will get goals. Good also to see young Bates and Beerman come thru without conceding.

3.) 09 Apr 2017 19:17:34
God dodo has one descent cameo and now he is the best in scotland

4.) 09 Apr 2017 20:30:21
Sorry Cee that's an over reaction. It's actually his second decent cameo (first one v. Thistle) but that's more of a sign of him being ignored a lot of the time. By the way who on here suggested he's the best in Scotland?

5.) 09 Apr 2017 20:31:17
I think he has had two decent cameos the other one was the away match v Partick Thistle.
If given the chance to feature regularly Dodoo will score goals as in my opinion he is a natural finisher.

6.) 09 Apr 2017 20:42:24
cee, Miller will be the rangers player of the year this season! Total thoroughbred and top professional, big game player who scores important goals in THE BIG games! Has to get another 1 year deal? We're fortunate to have him!

Living down south, have listened to many matches this season on the radio. Its getting monotonous now listening to us being second to every ball, no fighters in midfield, and apparently no management at any level who can't see this. This is on top of the need to sign good central defenders 18 months ago. I dread it when I hear the opposition are swinging another ball into our box. When will someone at the club wake up and sort out these problems!

2 CBs def won't sort the mess out. Having 2 FBs who sit in and tuck in when required won't sort it either.
Our midfield is root of problem, they are too lightweight and just not good enough. they can't keep the ball, when they lose it they can't win it back, they offer zero protection to defence and they definitely don't add to our goal tally!
Back to basics shape wise is needed asap.
3-5-2 or 4-4-2 with little complications. aye the movement was nice to watch against part timers but it's completely ineffectual now if we can't put the effin ball in the net and keep clean sheets.

2.) 20 Feb 2017 22:00:02
You watch any possession based team. You see them pressing as a team, winning the ball back high up the pitch, Overloading the wings. midfielders making runs beyond the strikers. We literally do none of that. Instead we lose the ball and usually it ends up in the back of the net or a goal kick. Rinse and repeat.

3.) 20 Feb 2017 23:12:58
Totally agree. Sundays match highlighted it perfectly. We were second to every ball, casual in possession, edgy and nervy, Haber won every ball in the air, no fight, no spirit, no skill, too many posted missing. Apart from that we did well imo

4.) 21 Feb 2017 00:35:19
Should have brought back Boughie when he offered

5.) 21 Feb 2017 00:39:20
No matter the system, our players' hearts must be bursting out their jersey, when they take to the pitch. They must be disciplined with a will to win.
What we have are imitations of players, who are only interested in what is in it for them.

I honestly believe that until we have a manager that can instal that mindset we will never be a force.

In my travels over 60 years supporting our club, I have grown up with some of our greats, I played in the 60's with our youth team [ Drumchapel amateurs. ] and had the pleasure of training at Ibrox and playing a couple of games.

However, a big regret was that I was not good enough to wear the jersey. Many of my mates were, but as the years go on we are losing them and, all the while, we have a group of imposters that are supposed to be idols for our youngsters.

Watched that on TV last night, the commentators were right, we were a shambles. I have been in favour of giving warbs a chance, but it was obvious 18 months ago that the defence was the weak point and nothing has changed. They started like it was a training kick about, no pace, not trying to pass forwards, and the same players making the almighty cock-ups. If warbs can't see it then god help us, we'll be lucky to get 3rd at this rate

Listening on radio from afar today, we definitely need a midfield general, and he must get some central defenders who can defend, I think he has to drop the 433 formation as well.

scotty_dog

1.) 31 Dec 2016 15:48:54
We didn't play 433 and its nothe centerbacks that worry me its guys like tav and halliday not following runs that cause problems! And the biggeat problem of all is regular punters like us can highlight the threats from celtic yet nothing is done to counter it! No one against Sinclair (there biggest threat) no one close enough to dembele when balls played into him and no one tracking Armstrong from deeper! Basic mistakes that never seem to be addressed.

That was painful watching after the first 15 minutes, nobody in midfield seemed to want the ball apart from kent in patches. We always seem to play badly after an international or winter break. were we lucky it was killie and not Cowdenbeath? Worralls mistake was unbelievable, there was no one within 30 yards of him when he took possession, but he still manages to lose it. Morelos/ defoe will only work if they are together in the box, not one on the wing and the other in there, but midfield weren't supplying them with anything. I must admit i'm a bit old fashioned, I prefer centre halves to be stoppers, not bring the ball out and get caught, but where were the midfield. What has katic got to do to get a game?

Don't think it will matter what striker we sign unless we start playing with two up front, 442? - that worked a bit better when laff came on today and we started playing a more direct game. All the opposition have sussed our one up front system and if they snuff el buffalo we are toothless in attack.

darenk23. you are right. I have been saying for a while now its noticeable that other teams when approaching the box, if there's nothing on, have a pop at goal, and we don't do that enough. Don't know if that's orders from above or our midfielders haven't got the confidence to do it, but it certainly needs sorting instead of trying to walk it in. We huffed and puffed last night but most of the crosses into the box are poor, i'm screaming at the telly "SHOOT", its frustrating to watch at times!

Waited years to see one of those Ibrox euro nights, great team performance, thought Worrall looked shaky at the start, but he certainly grew into it as the night went on. As Gerrard said after the game every player was 8 out of 10 or higher. If we can reach that level of performance consistently, then it will be onwards and upwards! Follow Follow.

A changed team from Thursday, and to be honest not the first pick eleven for me, but as stevie says you have to rotate the squad. Anyway another good TEAM performance today everyone working and doing their bit on a bloody awful pitch, last seasons defence would have folded under those long high balls. El buffalo seems to be getting better week by week, and there's even a smile on his face!, if any members of our board suggest selling him now they need hanging! Onwards and upwards, we are the people!

Poor performance after last week, we really missed davis, arfield and Tavernier today. That plastic pitch is awful to watch games on. Glad Worrall is away now, scares me to death, barisic is never an spl defender. Killie just caught us with the balls over the top that we couldn't defend against earlier in the season. Can't see killie going far in Europe unless Collum is there to protect them, it was uncannot how every time they fell over it was a free kick, but not for us? Hope Stevie G makes some good signings in the summer, he must be able to see who the dead wood are now. Onwards and upwards! Have a good summer fellow bears.

Not the first time he's done similar, getting to be a liability like Alfie!

One question for Walker - if that had been a Rangers defender swinging the elbow, would it have been a pen?

Tilla die, I agree with your comments, last four games 11 goals scored and 1 against. Aberdeen never looked like a threat today and if they never had such a good goalie there would have been more goals for us. With the way the team have adapted play wise without Alfie, I don't think Gerrard can afford to stop the current momentum by putting him straight back in. Probably the bench for him at the moment. We've actually played more as a team since the second half against them, when we outplayed them with ten men.

Only saw the second half, but very pleased for arfield today. This was more like the style of play we had at the start of the season. I know it was "only" motherwell, but these are the sort of games where we've come unstuck in the past. We played the ball about well going forwards and got players back in numbers when they had possession. We need to produce this now for the rest of the season even if the league has gone.
