Man City, PSG, Bayern, Arsenal, Barca, Liverpool etc etc. the list is endless. What’s one thing they have in common? They all have wingers and play with width. Why we have persisted with this formation is beyond me. We literally have the blueprint of what teams in Scotland can’t compete with from Ange and we decide to play the way we do.

The only team in recent times I can think of which has been successful without wingers is Real Madrid but when you have a ballon dor winning striker and midfielder it’s a hell of a lot easier.

David maybe it's time to go 3 at back and allow us to push fb higher on but i agree the failure to sign a winger could be costly.

For me football is simple sometimes 2 wingers 1 or 2 strikers score as many as u can and if u concede so be it out score the opponent that's the aim of the game 2 win.
