How does this Scottish League Cup work? It's clearly not a one off match knock out.

Kfraser. its table format. then 1/ 2 teams from each group qualify, this is when the rest of the teams enter ( last 16 i think? ) . It was brought it to do away with meaningless friendlies i think.
