Its all over the back page of this morning's sun newspaper that rangers are wanting ex bolton, ex palace boss dougie freedman as the next rangers manager, freedman is only on a contract as nottingham forest manager until the end of the season, wouldn't be my no.1 choice but he's a decent coach and doing well currently at forest, what do you think ed?

{Ed001's Note - he is doing well at Forest right now, but I remain to be convinced he is a good manager. Starting well is one thing, but long term he seems to struggle badly. I would not want him if it was me. It is very likely he will be available in the summer though, as Forest are in utter turmoil behind the scenes, no one even knows whether the owner is selling or not.}

Our next manager is not one that we should be taking chances with - that role has been done and dusted. We need a 'captain' that will steady the ship and stear us into calmer waters.

I don't want this guy regardless of his performance for 2 reasons. He is largely inexperienced. He may have a few seasons under his belt with a few decent clubs but he had no longevity and in not entirely sure if he has a footballing philosophy with regards to the youth team and style of football.

That being said, he also has no experience of scottish football management.

My preference would be cathro and although he has be experience. We do know he has a footballing philosophy and will use this model from the youth upwards.

Rangers need an overhaul and we need someone that has either a view to restructuring from the youth levels up wih a good scouting network. Or substantial experience and longevity with the same club for over 3 years.

Can I just say I think kenny McDowell has done reasonably well in his tenure so far. Take out the results which were on the back of a torrid removal of ally McCoist. He only lacks the ability to fire up his players but tactics and team selection has been spot on. Hutton has been decent and looks a good wee player. That other young player that scored a cracker looks a great talent (sorry I can't remember his name i'm tired) faure has looked great in his 2 games. The only things I want to see happen now is gasparotto and temps getting a run of games.

Temps playing behind the striker with vucinic in the left and law on the right. Hutton and that young player behind them. Boyd up front. With Wallace (needs a kick up the Anus for his recent form) gasparotto, mccregor and faure on the right.

I would stick with Robinson with kelly on the bench.

Thoughts?
