Q guys and gals. On the back of VAR, blue cards, replays, golden goals etc who should be making the final decisions in how to make the game more attractive and entertaining. Its a tricky one but having listed the below key stakeholders I came to the conclusion TV are the ones who could improve the game on the whole. There is proof to back that up as Sky have made the most lucrative/ watched league in the world.

Give the entertainment industry and the rest of the broadcasters the task of creating the most entertaining sport in the world.

Goals, skill, effort, personality, emotion, atmosphere, banter, social fabric, jeopardy and the big prize. that's football that's sport.

1. Governing Bodies - corrupt
2. Refs - Self Interest
3. Managers - Self Interest
4. Players - poor collective effective decision making
5. Owners - Self Interest
6. TV - Need to make money
7. Fans - poor collective effective decision making.

I’m curious that you note referees, managers and owners as being in the category of ‘self interest’ but TV companies as ‘need to make money’ which I would say is the ultimate in self interest. I also don’t think TV companies need to turn football into the most exciting sport in the world. It’s already the most exciting sport in the world as evidence by it being the world’s most popular sport. Asking who should take the decisions to make things different is the wrong question. The question is: do things need to be different?

In my opinion folks, Sky TV have done very little for Scottish Football, and Doncaster has looked after himself in any negotiations, e. g. Viaplay also. No cognizance has been taken of the cost to the ordinary fan in all of this, BBC and STV could do more, look at the English games live for free on ITV and Channel 4, self interest certainly applies to him.

Read the Wealth of Nations, self interest can be very beneficial.

All fare points folks. What I was getting at is football does evolve to enhance the game ie pass back rule, offside rule, yellow for time wasting, 3 points for a win etc, mnf, 4k all designed to enhance the game and potentially more goals or at least attacking football. IFAB are trying to enhance the game again but i'm nor sure they are the correct body to do this. Perhaps then a working group from all of the above.
