mr warburton says there will not be anymore transfer business at rangers he's happy with the squad he has assembled there could be a couple of young players going out on loan like robbie crawford etc talks are on going but no one new coming inwards as for john eustice once he's fit he will be signed he said

Amusing that you think that MW has any say in transfer business. Do you think if he had a say he would have signed the freebies and unwanted players and loanees that we did? Every manager has to work within the budget that is dictated to him by the board / owner. We are in such bad shape that it is terrifying. We are down to bare bones financially and squad wise. Wake up.

We sign a load of promising players from the English championship and English league 1 (warburton has spent the last 5 years at this level) and you think he had no say in the signings? If we had a budget similar to barcelona we wouldn't have signed these players but we don't, we have a scottish premier league budget and we have signed players based on this. Tell me what players you expected us to sign? Who could we attract to play in the scottish championship? Were you expecting la liga or bundesliga players? Maybe high end english championship players? I think you have your head firmly in the sand. or you're not a rangers fan. The players we have signed are nearly all of a much higher standard than anything you see in scotland other than celtic (even that's up for debate). Add the loan signings into the mix and we have a squad cababke of winning the league and maybe a cup or decent cup run and we will win then strengthen again next summer if we get promoted and can attract a slightly better standard of player.

{Ed001's Note - 100% Warburton is involved in choosing the players, it was the only way he would take the job.}

Abhabh of course the manager had a say in those that have signed ,most of them have worked under mw before, you don't have any info on what went on behind the scenes, the gaffer was brought to the club with his knowledge of the championship and lower leagues in England,he has Hugh respect down the road thus clubs willing to send there future stars up here, under the managers watchful eyes.

ABHABH are you having a laugh!

You think MW didn't have a say in the freebies and the unwanted players and loanees we have.

Would that be the same ones that have made our team the most exciting they have looked in years?

If he wasn't responsible for these "unwanted" players, then there must be someone within Ibrox with a good eye for a player that would fit into the system MW had in mind.

mw has every say in these players that have came to club if wasnt for him these players would not want play for our club he has attracted them to the club looking at our squad it is way stronger than last year and the bench has quality on it now that can change a game abhabh you must be about the only one on hear that can not see we are miles better squad wise as for money wise I do not no as king promised he would spend money this season and we are yet to see any serious money come from him I doubt any will come I just hope he is banking it for next season to buy better quality players on our return to the top league

ABHABH I used to be a lot like you couldn't see the good in anything at ibrox & for the most part I was right. We' are on a better path now I have no doubt in my mind. It's still a long winding road but we will slowly but surely get there. I've heard you say we have an unwanted manager & your slating the players we've signed because there freebies. Give me 11 Wilsons, Hallidays, Holts, Taverneirs & Waghorns they're all excellent signing. Then there's Wes & Rob who I'm still passing judgement on but still all of them could command a transfer fee bigger than any of, Law, Clark, Sheils, Temps etc. I will always keep my eyes & ears open these days but there's no indication that were going anywhere but up.

He was only saying he was happy with the squad, not a comment on the finances of the board, of course every manager would want more money. Also I think it would be normal if you bought over any company the size and complexity of rangers that had been run badly and at a loss by destructive owners you would take time to asses everything before throwing unnecesary money at it. Its not even been 6 months and I think we have already improved significantly on the squad, manager, coaches, staff, ticket sales, club stability, reputation and football. Dire stuff sack the board because we haven't spent a few million to win the championship

Read what I said. I didn't say he didn't choose the players we brought in. I'm saying there is no way that they would have been his realistic first choices. Yes the football is better than last year and that is a cause for optimism.

Abhabh, he has said in interviews, including the latest one, that the board have backed him fully in terms of transfers and that he is happy with the squad he's assembled. Before taking the job weir also stated budgets etc were discussed and they were more than happy to work within it. Correct me if I'm wrong but king's quote on this was he'd be willing to spend whatever it took to achieve promotion. Do you see any reason why we won't get promoted this year given the start we've made and the not so promising start our rivals have made? Has he not fulfilled that agreement so far or are you too far gone in terms of being anti-king to acknowledge he's given warburton the financial tools to do the job in the division we are in? What do you actually want to see happen? Pay inflated fees and wages to get out of this league? Tried that one last year, guess you were happy with the outcome of that approach, smh.

spart7 you are exactly the type of fan that the board are relying on. The type who is willing to believe everything the board say. Promotion is not a given. The boards plan relies on 45k season tickets being sold, we fell well short of that and therefore face a very real prospect of an insolvency event and a points deduction.

ABHABH: Nothing is a given, but I would suggest promotion looks highly likely, Nd as for insolvency, nah I don't think so.

Looks like it's already getting us through, don't think the management team would've come without assurances.

Abhabh, liquidation? Seriously? Smh. Only reason cva wasn't agreed previously was the threat of two massive hmrc bills dropping through potential purchasers door. That's why we ultimately faced liquidation. Say your worst (best?) case scenario comes true and we enter admin2 give me a good reason a cva couldn't be agreed this time around. Btw I'm neither pro nor anti king, I'm pro rangers and I've some concerns currently, mainly the lack of accountants and market listing but he's also got a helluva lot right so far too. Management team and playing squad, stadium repairs underway, new appointments and telling warburton he can set up scouting network for example. Compare that to green who retained ally to keep fans onside and systematically pillaged the club for north of 70m whilst totally destroying the entire infrastructure of our club. From getting rid of long term employees to leaving the stadium and training facilities to rot he did nothing to improve how things were. Then there's your apparent beloved saviour Ashley. You need to take your head out of the sand with that one, he'd be worse for rangers than green was, ask ed001 or any Newcastle fan. King will get time from me as there are too many positives currently for me to doubt his intentions are anything other than in the best interests of rangers. Doesn't mean I won't question things from time to time.

ABHABH

One minute you think Warburton had to take in unwanted players because King never opened his wallet

The next your going on about liquidation because of lack of money!

Present new exciting squad cost very little which has allowed the club to spend money on Ibrox, which was desperately needed.

Had we spend money on big headed so called SPL quality players would we be playing better football? I personally don't think so. If we had we maybe closer to the liquidation you seem to think may happen while watching our stadium fall down around us.

I for one am very impressed in the transformation in the team and the way the directors have gone about their business trying to get us back to where we belong. You must have a very short memory if you've forgotten the shambles on the park last season and also about the way our club was being run by a bunch of conmen!

I never mentioned liquidation but administration is a very real possibility. But you guys ignore all that as we have a team who are winning.

Abhabh I've got to add to my post above,I disagree with you completely on this one, mark war button has never been a guy for throwing cash about, that's how he made his name doing things on a shoestring budget, and his next gen program made a few sit up and believe in his way of doing things,so onwards and upwards under current management team.

ABHABH : What did we ignore, insolvency? Because that is what you said, not administration.
