Some might disagree but i would like to thank mr mccoist for his contribution to getting us back where we belong he played a massive part and before its said a know he got paid well but no manager who was rangers class would have taken the job on when he stuck by us deserves credit and i for one would like to see him shown some appreciation for what he did make him part of the return on the last home game of the season even just be there and involved true rangers legend no matter what.

I Totally Agree Mate, I Was A Bit Peed Off At Him When He Was Makin Silly Decisions And The Players Wernt Playin For The Gersey, But Us Rangers Fans Where Just Hurt By All The Things that's Went On In The Last 4 Years And Takin a lot Of It Out On Ally Aswell, But Hey, Were Back In The Top Flight Now, And I Can Only See Amazing Things Happenin To This Amazing Club Now, Hopefully Ally Comes Back To See The Mighty Glasgow Rangers. We Are The People.

One hundred percent agree. There was hardly a long list of people wanting to manage us at that time. Not a good manager to say the least but let's not forget folks, regardless of that he is a Rangers legend and should be remembered as such. Top post sir. Well done.

Sorry but the man was an imposter. Easily the worst manager we have ever had and the greediest. Backed all the chancers who ran the club and like them took fortunes out of the club. Brought in some truly awful players and played the most dire football this club has ever played not to mention being manager for some of the most embarrassing defeats the club has suffered and couldn't win the petrofac cup in 3 attempts!

Just my opinion biffo but remember we had no structure to the club then no scouting in place and if mccoist would have walked away a believe we would have been in a terrible mess wasnt manager material but he gave his all for the club at out time of need yes he got a big wage but he was offered that i for one won't forget what he gave and did for our club.

He gave very little. what he did though was give us hope, and a squad. I'll thank him for that. however I like many others will remember him for his salary, his pathetic tactics, and his training ground antics. Worst manager by far, and the way in which he continued to drain the club he loved the most. nothing short of heart breaking. 800k a year.

Spot on Scotty. No one is arguing your points biffo, but as I said no one else was busting our door in to manage the club through what was the most horrendous time in its entire existence. Yes the football was dire, yes he made bad decisions and yes he got paid very handsomely for all of that. However, he put up with every con man and idiot that strolled through our doors and yes he may have said he backed them but do you really suppose for one minute he couldn't see them for what they were. If he didn't back them he would have been without a job and Rangers without a manager. (Not as if there was a draw full of cv's to choose a new one. )
Can you not just forgive him? Do you not remember what he HAS done for our club, how many vital winners he has scored? Are memories and loyalties really that tenuous that we forget the good stuff and vilify so quickly?
Regardless of his managerial tenure, Ally McCoist will ALWAYS be SuperAlly to me and many others as well I suspect. We are all entitled to our opinion biffo and you are no different. So although we have different opinions on this matter, we are all true blue together, forever.

Scotty

Where your argument falls down is that he was up against part time players and for all the problems still had a far bigger budget. How much did these teams get to spend on players? What was their budget?

Ally stayed too long in my opinion done well to get us out of div 3 and 2 people saying there was no structure or scouting then surely that's up to the manager to have the brains to put these things in place just look at what warburton and weir have done, they came in and seen what was needed surely mccoist could see it and he should have been a bit stronger with the board to get some kind of structure in place and we should have built from youth in lower leagues but instead brought in guys like kyle and sandaza.

Get ally back for Alloa game he may not entirely due our thanks but he must be given a chance in front of our fans, super ally's goods far outweigh his bads if we don't take this chance to finally close this horrible chapter in our long glorious history we are no better than that other mob, one day a book will come out about what the hell really happened to our club and I am sure we will get a wee insight to what ally was up against but let's let ally know that he was SUPER ALLY and always will be super follow follow.

He didn't just put up with every con man that strolled in he BACKED them. I'm not going to say anything against Ally the player as he was a great club player who scored a lot of goals in Scotland. As a manager however he was shocking and his tactics, high wages and choice of player has left a bitter taste in the mouth.

Big rfc how could he put scouting in place when the club couldn't afford it that's why we never had it he was working with what he had not saying he was a good manager just done what was better for the club we could have had someone else in but we had a rangers man who related to the fans and biffo he did have a bigger budget and better squad no denying that but he wasnt just a manager he was doing everthing for the squad and taking all the pressure just think he deserves a thanks for what he did and his part he played bad football or not he got us promoted twice in a row and for me was part of the journey back.

He couldn't do anything with coaching and that's why he got the likes of Sandaza and Kyle, he didn't have the time, we were running against time to get out of div3 by any means necessary.

He was up against part time teams with next to no budget! He had the luxury of bringing in players like Shiels, Black, Sandaza and paid £500k for Templeton. The football that was played was atrocious, the tactics were non existent and some of the results were embarrassing. He also backed Whyte, Green and the other chancers that ran the club as well as insulting our intelligence by claiming he didn't know what he was earning.

Ally mccoist will always be a rangers legend in my eyes and I agree wholeheartedly with everything you say in your post scottym28, he started the journey and what he put up with through the board over our four years out of the top flight will never be repeated to any other glasgow rangers manager in our history! I hope ally will be present at our last home league game against alloa when we get presented with the championship league trophy, I think it would be a very touching gesture by our current rangers minded board of directors to invite ally mccoist as a guest of the club to that game against alloa, I'd go as far as saying we should welcome him onto the park before our trophy presentation to let him take a bow in front of our fans as well as remembering all legends that helped and came through the most trying and difficult times in this famous worldwide institution of a football club's history, the late great sandy jardine should be afforded a very special mention for what this class gentleman did for our football club through thick and thin and many many years of service, god bless sandy jardine who will never be forgotten! !
