JAMES TAVERNIER has emerged as a transfer target for Tabzonspor, according to reports in the Turkish press.

No problems. He's yours for 40 million.

Pieandbovril

1.) 10 Aug 2016 11:00:46
In today's current market, I wouldn't let him go for anything less than £8m.

2.) 10 Aug 2016 11:07:27
Realistic money would be 2-3mil.

3.) 10 Aug 2016 11:10:36
If genuine, I think we'd rip their hands off for £1m +. At the end of the day he was a freebie, anything else is a bonus. Personally, I would prefer him to stay and improve in order to get a big money move in a season or two.

4.) 10 Aug 2016 11:17:38
In today's market a free scoring right back MUST be worth at least 50 million. You will notice his value has increased 10 million since my original post!

5.) 10 Aug 2016 11:31:21
Shhhhh ya pie.

6.) 10 Aug 2016 11:31:54
Id say 3-4mil no more no less.

7.) 10 Aug 2016 11:32:27
You might not and neither would I but if we got a bid of £3.5M+ he would be gone. We will be a selling club and an offer like that would be too good to turn down in our situation ATM.

That said Trabzonspor aren't exactly oozing kerb appeal I really don't see Tav going there. Think if he has a good season this year he will go in the summer for £4-5M.

8.) 10 Aug 2016 11:34:56
In saying that, he did sign an extension to his contract so they may eek out an extra few £000k. He is certainly better than Celtic's right back who was fingertip close to a £15m move to Real Madrid a few seasons ago. Wonder how he's getting on?

9.) 10 Aug 2016 11:47:05
Unfortunately it's not as simple as that. The transfer fee is not determined by ability alone. His weekly wages is the key factor. Gers can't ask for £8-10 million if he only earns £4-5 grand a week. £8-10 million, in my view, would be a player on around £20-25 grand per week. Realistically, he's worth around £1-2 million in today's market, depending on his wages.

10.) 10 Aug 2016 11:48:44
£2.5m then make a bid for callum paterson tav can't defend was seen last season especially cup final and will be seen plenty of times this season also.

11.) 10 Aug 2016 12:18:12
well it is better value to keep him then,
as I said before the season started the boy is worth 10 million easy if we go on to win the league or even finish a close second look at celtic and what they have sold players for and 10 million these days is penuts for clubs down south.
I can't see anyone going to turkey at the moment unless its stupid money or if they have a death wish.

12.) 10 Aug 2016 12:40:41
You can slap whatever prive you want on him not just to do with his wages he's currently getting. I think hodson would do a job anyway in tavs position. Tavs good at getting down the right, but o'halloran is too so. we lose we will gain.

13.) 10 Aug 2016 12:47:03
James Tavernier isn't worth anymore than £1.5m to £2m tops let's be honest.

14.) 10 Aug 2016 12:53:03
They don't want him anymore they have moved on to another target according to reports last week.

15.) 10 Aug 2016 13:24:59
Tavs is, at most, worth £1.5mil. i'd happily sell him for anything close to £1mil if we could get Callum Paterson in.

16.) 10 Aug 2016 13:46:08
Eezy you're half right. Yes we can slap any price tag we like on him, in the same way I can slap a price tag of a £1 million on a peanut but no one will buy it. Wages, amongst other things, are key factor when determining the price of a player. A player's wages show interested clubs what value that specific player adds to their current club, both on and off the park. If an interested club comes in for Tav and Gers ask for £10million and then the deal falls through, I'm sure Tav's agent would immediately renegotiate his contract in the region of £25 grand per week or more. IMO that's the price of 5 Tavs.

17.) 10 Aug 2016 14:34:07
what is it with people 5,6,7,8+ hahaha that man is worth 2 2.5 max also he is scoring it's against utter rubbish teams people need to get a grip on reality here most of these posts are a laughing stock.

18.) 10 Aug 2016 14:53:35
He may be a free scoring right back pie but he can't defend for sh*t.

19.) 10 Aug 2016 15:21:31
We will be a selling club not not until we have cemented our place back into European football Dave King won't want to sell anyone at the minute while he is trying to reclaim the title from celtic. Unless a crazy bid comes in for a player we won't sell.

20.) 10 Aug 2016 15:22:17
he is young for one and I think he will be a lot better player this season than last season and is one of the first picks for me people saying we would bite their hands off for 1 million get a grip we couldn't actually buy a better player for 1 million than tav no one will change my mind on that he will prove everyone wrong who doubt him.

21.) 10 Aug 2016 17:07:33
Can the £1mil peanut play right back?

22.) 10 Aug 2016 17:18:09
if they can get close to one mill they should jump as tav
will never be a full back.

23.) 10 Aug 2016 18:19:40
Tavs is going nowhere this season longer he stay's value goes up at earliest possible Jan and hopefully Stewart signs on a free.

24.) 10 Aug 2016 18:54:00
Bilbo what about stirling / stones. going for 50mil. Surely their current wages didn't match up to their valuation. Aw who cares i hope we keep him anyway he's a great player for us.

25.) 10 Aug 2016 21:24:37
Way I see it tav has a good goal haul for us and has plenty assists but he doesn't suit a flat back 4 now we are in spl we need a solid full back! He would suit a manager who plays back 3 with wing backs bombing on! Value 1.5 but a decent season and he could go for double that.

26.) 11 Aug 2016 00:35:47
We seem to forget how he played against Dundee and Celtic last season in the Cup. he was magnificent. both in attack and defence. sure he was poor in Cup Final. but who wasnt. Team died a death that day just through sheer exhaustion due to lack of numbers. Worth at least £5m. a pacey attacking full back who gets into double figures in goals. who do you replace him with? End up with a Ricky Foster/ Stevie Smith type. Be careful what we wish for Bears.

27.) 10 Aug 2016 19:33:42
You joking 1 mill we need to be looking at at least 5 for tav people seem to give him stick for his defending but the boy the best wing back we've had going back to gio got pace to burn not bad crosser of the ball, links up well with forward players and got a wond of a right foot he will only get better in his defending got plenty of time to improve.

28.) 10 Aug 2016 19:08:06
I don't think wages are relevant.
Pogba wasn't on £ 250,000 before he moved I wouldn't think.

29.) 10 Aug 2016 19:23:08
Bilbobathwater going on you theory can you explain to me the logic behing jamie vardy, he was earning 850 pound at fleetwood town, yet moved to leister city for 1 million pound, my logic is any club will pay the asking price providing it is a reasonable amount, its moostly when players transferess are disputed that these disputes (wages) come into the reconing, then a panel decides what the player is worth.

30.) 10 Aug 2016 19:58:47
Tav will come good for us. Hutton went for near 8 million and he wasn't the best defender ever, and he never scored 15 goals a season. Tav is worth at least 5 million IMO.

31.) 10 Aug 2016 20:00:39
Interesting we apparently in talks with rod fanni a rb. Just as our 1st choice rb is linked to another club. 3mill for tav and rod in for free good business.

32.) 11 Aug 2016 12:04:22
Wages are relevant to an extent like the Hat stated! However, as pointed out already, if Celtic players like Tierney are being linked with moves for £10 million in the current market then Tav is worth far more than £1.5 regardless of wages! His defending is questionable at times but so is Tierneys and he doesn't score 15 goals a season! Also, when a player is under a contract for several years we'll be the ones setting the price not the buyer!

33.) 11 Aug 2016 17:33:23
Look Bears depending on opposition will dictate who Warbs plays Tavs or Hodson we have two good players and to have the option is great, Keep Tavs we need him to have a better chance of challenging.

DR reporting this

There's some big news for Rangers fans coming up.

Don't touch that dial

Anyone any ideas?

Pieandbovril

1.) 02 Jun 2016 09:24:07
When today?

2.) 02 Jun 2016 09:25:07
Probably something to do with the strips or season tickets.

3.) 02 Jun 2016 09:26:06
No big news at all its only niko kranjar is under the thumb and his missus doesn't want to move to glasgow ( don't blame her really ) so kranjar deal is off.

4.) 02 Jun 2016 09:32:59
Under the thumb 😂😂😂 your telling me she'd rather act in Broadway instead of pavilion . What's wrong with some people lol.

5.) 02 Jun 2016 09:52:28
Ano der hammer what's wrong with her i'm sure she could have got a gig on river city or pantomime with the krankies 😂😂😂 some people have no ambition lol.

6.) 02 Jun 2016 09:54:45
I know, she could've excelled in River City if she took a punt 😎.

7.) 02 Jun 2016 09:57:44
Cheers lads, thought it may have had something to do with some of the other players we have been linked with. Tough choice between Broadway and Govan mind. Did not think this one was ever a goer when you consider the choices and that his burd is an actress. Though I could so see her in Still Game!

8.) 02 Jun 2016 10:13:15
Just look what river city done for wee shell suit bobs career, lassie could have had no end of Xmas panto offers for the rest of her life! It's unbelievable how short sighted she's being.

9.) 02 Jun 2016 10:31:05
Kolo Toure is the big rumour running around, probably wrong. But it's a rumour that is starting to spread. It may have something to do with that?

10.) 02 Jun 2016 14:28:23
The big news is NOT Niko it's something else by all accounts.

11.) 02 Jun 2016 11:41:58
the krankies? they are too busy getting ready for a so called second referendum.

King Billy coming to Ibrox on loan until end of season.

Pieandbovril

1.) 28 Jan 2016 16:39:28
Surely King arriving means MOH deal is dead. Warrburton talks about a lean squad surely he can't have Miller, waghorn, McKay, King, Forrester and MOH not too mention Nicky Clark. thoughts?

Personally I think MOH would be a good buy for us and at the price I think he is good value. Can't say I have seen too much of King to know if he is better than what we have. I wonder if he did well like Holt what his contract situation is.

2.) 28 Jan 2016 16:53:04
Total pish.

3.) 28 Jan 2016 16:56:35
Is Billy kings wee brother Ross still at rangers cracking wee player used to play for livi.

4.) 28 Jan 2016 17:03:03
Don't think the OH deal was ever a goer. Couple of derisory offers to make us think we wanted him but oh dear, SJ wouldn't do business.
Not impressed with Dave at the minute. Needs to finance ONE of thee deals MW wants to show he's serious, otherwise he will be thought of as being full of p1sh.

5.) 28 Jan 2016 17:34:40
Absolutely shocked it ths shows either how desperate or bad we have billy king please your gna tell me he will get game but canna for hearts llf aye nae bother n whos ths rookie fae wolves mccloed is ths how bad things are at the minute? O'halloran has proved it week in week out for st johnstone n we can't pay 500k absolute joke as per usall rangers getting basement bargains or free transfers.

6.) 28 Jan 2016 17:47:52
Spot on baz. These teams aren't looking to hold us to ransome for millions after all, just what they reckon he is worth and I tend to agree with them. OH must be worth 500k all day long.

7.) 28 Jan 2016 17:47:55
I'm not even sure I can bear to listen to the football phone in tonight.

8.) 28 Jan 2016 18:16:34
I don't see what everyone is greetin about! Get promoted then worry about building the team we want rather than a team we need.

9.) 28 Jan 2016 18:19:30
Someone says he can't get a game for hearts, he's played 20 times this season hasn't he?

10.) 28 Jan 2016 18:21:45
I understand people ain't happy at the lack of spending (I don't agree but hey ho) . However to slate Maced and King before they have even pulled on the jersey is ridiculous.
Holt wasn't playing every game for hearts last season and none of us had heard of Oduwa either.
Give them a chance!

11.) 28 Jan 2016 18:29:01
Actually can't believe this. Really thought we would atleast get moh. I was against everyone that was saying negative comments about Dave King, but coming towards the end of the transfer window i have to say i have definitely converted. King has really let us down. Since the season started i'm not gona lie i was really looking forward to this window, was never expecting it to be this quiet. I feel sorry for warbs, i really hope he stays. When warbs said about doing all his business early, well that's gone right out the window. Aw man i'm so dissapointed.

12.) 28 Jan 2016 18:32:53
Papabendy moaning when we fail to win auto promotion is a bit late don't you think?

13.) 28 Jan 2016 19:02:38
come on guys window is still open and will be for days to come until then maybe Chill out we can all moan about who he dose not bring in until it closes
As for the King deal there will be more to it the just till the end of the season MW we trust come guys let get behind the team.

14.) 28 Jan 2016 19:39:06
Bleet bleet bleet bleet. the site is in need of help from the Samaritans.

The end of the world is nigh. DK is playing his cards too close to his chest so that must mean disaster is on the cards.

Deep breath everyone and then positive thoughts only.

15.) 28 Jan 2016 19:39:06

16.) 28 Jan 2016 20:06:48
Robbie Neilson on Hearts TV saying that it's purely a 6 month loan deal as Billy King couldn't get in to their first team they feel it's better for him to go out on loan and develop by getting first team action.

I literally cannot believe that we're the team developing him. Incredible. How low we've sunk.

Meanwhile Hearts going for John Soutar (hot prospect) who we also cannot afford as we would likely have to pay a development fee of around £200k!

17.) 28 Jan 2016 20:18:34
King is a good piece of business I reckon. I also suspect some Hearts fans will be perplexed as to why he's been put out on loan.

I hope Warburton is playing the long game though and we have an option to buy at the end of the loan.

18.) 28 Jan 2016 20:28:11
I love the way our team has changed and I have been impressed by the QUIET board, management and signings we have made since Warburton took charge.
I am confused about some people's comments on this site. If we did sign certain people then I think the negative comments would simply come out with some other nonsense to groan over. I understand passion but constantly bemoaning D. K and even suggesting Warburton has no say etc. with regard to targets is really boring now.
It would be nice to read something as positive as the new style Rangers have adopted on the pitch.

19.) 28 Jan 2016 20:46:01
Another spot on post there Campbell. Right on the money with that one. So we are developing players for Hearts now. Exactly. It's feckin incredible.

20.) 28 Jan 2016 20:53:22
The Campbell- your right it's a complete joke - the worst thing is there are some fans that are actually happy about.

This underlines the very real financial problems of the club. This is not part of any master plan, anyone who thinks so is kidding themselves and nobody else.

21.) 28 Jan 2016 22:25:29
Disagree, if the player is going to make it and I believe he is, then he will make it regardless, wouldn't look too much into Neilson's throwaway line, every team look at their own angle anyway, I think he is a good player and will freshen us up to the end of the season.

22.) 28 Jan 2016 22:16:23
Have to laugh at most of the people on here last week slating the fact we were going for moh as he only had a few good games then when we get someone else they moan about us no getting him. Fs lads the team is better than what we had and I for once am really happy we got billy king as he's a good player and give it a few weeks and the same folk will be on saying he's a great player. Moan at the end of the season lads when we get automatic promotion as that's what we will get. I'm happy the way the board have went about the business.

23.) 28 Jan 2016 21:50:39
Luigi proves my point.

Show me the financial documents you are viewing? D. K said he and others would invest in our club and with wages, recruitment (that has happened) and all day to day running costs they have. Our team is top and saying that missing out on two targets will cost promotion is a ridiculous statement!
Some people will enjoy the club's situation at the moment for the right reasons while some will search for the misery.
If you want to believe the negative stories of which there are many then that is your choice but don't project them on other people mate.
Bear in mind that regardless of his personal history or past comments D. K has opened the door to real fans who want to invest in our team.

Some good news folks.

JASON HOLT and Andy Halliday have agreed new deals with Rangers.

The duo joined in the summer but have now extended their contracts until the summer of 2020.

Pieandbovril

1.) 13 Jan 2016 19:37:42
Yes great news hokt has been a revelation his movement and knack of arriving late are top quality and at 65k great business.

2.) 13 Jan 2016 21:01:33
Barry McKay was the third one in talks have I missed his signing or is he holing out for a better offer!

{Ed039's Note - Some deals take longer than other to finalise for a number of different reasons)

3.) 14 Jan 2016 21:50:28
This pish about O'Halleron is getting tedious. For a striker he's got a worse strike rate than our Fullbacks.

4.) 14 Jan 2016 22:43:48
Bongo was thinking same thing mate, is this anything to do with Windass, forrester, coming in?
Thought he had his best game on Sunday, as they say, competition keeps players on their toes, and Ed is right some deals take longer to get over the line .

Is MOH our Timo Werner? I wish!

Well taken apart today by a very good team. Wouldn't mind some of those Red Bull millions at Ibrox. Wouldn't care what they called us, as we would always be Rangers to the fans. We desperately need investment of this type as Dave ain't going to take us to the next level.

Pieandbovril

1.) 15 Jan 2017 19:20:58
But still nobody is giving DK any credit? What if Red Bull are interested in investing or sponsoring our team?

Who would be behind that piece of business. Walter Smith, Souness, Mike Ashley?

Might be more likely to suggest that DK and our board are working away quietly in the background trying to attract the best possible deals for the club in. The current circumstances?

Of course not, DK is not interested in Rangers according to the supposed supporters peddling negativity on here

2.) 15 Jan 2017 21:21:12
You can be a Rangers supporter without being a fan of King so get away from this 'Supposed' supporters malarkey.

Most of us are hurting big time because we don't like the fact that we are so far behind Celtic and we are frustrated that King did a lot of mouthing off and some of the players that masquerade in Rangers strips are simply not fit to wear the jersey.

Lets wait and see what if anything materialises, then it will be time to give credit where credit is due!

3.) 15 Jan 2017 22:18:07
BR65. I didn't say I wasn't a fan of Dave's, all I said was he ain't going to take us to the next level. To do that we need serious investment, which is something Dave doesn't have I'm afraid. Red Bull however, does.

08 Jan 2017 15:43:20
Hopefully these signings will hit the ground running and are of a descent quality.

Pieandbovril

1.) 08 Jan 2017 16:27:36
I'd be surprised if the 2 young lads didn't improve are midfield mate. I just don't think halliday are holt are good enough. But we are still missing a scott brown type player who can bully the other team

2.) 08 Jan 2017 17:23:25
May get that next season.

3.) 08 Jan 2017 17:27:25
Agree with youPieandbovril. Holt and Halliday were good players last season as were certain others. My opinion is they are championship players at best. Unfortunately we are in a position where we cannot afford Premiership type players. I'd also like to ask opinion on Warburtons signing. How many players that he has signed has made the grade? Why, if true are some of his signings going on loan? How many have injuries?

4.) 08 Jan 2017 17:48:36
He's been unlucky with injuries this season kranjcar, rossiter crooks and windass have all had problems. Everyone of them signings would improve our team. I think dodoo will prove a good signing. The only bad signing was barton and that was a gamble he had to take. Also hodson is an improvement on tavernier even if mw can't see it.

5.) 08 Jan 2017 17:59:23
Agree hooly78, think it's time to cut Dodoo some slack and put him in the team. Only he and Mckay of the current squad have technique and guile to score at a high level consistently.

6.) 08 Jan 2017 18:08:32
Dodoo looks like the worst signing of all Warbs. He has sown absolutely nothing for a player who was built up so much.

7.) 08 Jan 2017 18:12:05
Pretty excited about this Torel lad, players and fans player of the year at Birmingham last season in a really tough league. Don't know too much about the other lad. Only down side is the deals are 6 months loans. want to see a bit of intent from the board with regards to investment. Look at our rivals across the city and what they've done in the past with the likes of Wanyama and Van Dijk. mon to King and Co!

8.) 08 Jan 2017 18:43:53
Can't agree with you cee. He hasn't got the same chances as garner has. Scored 2 against Partick started the next game then was out of team again. While garner has only scored 1 more goal than him. I wouldn't write the lad off yet

9.) 08 Jan 2017 19:31:18
I'm not writing him off he's got time but he's been Colin Nish

10.) 08 Jan 2017 20:02:54
Joey Barton was fans' player of the year last season in that league and also a league winner and look how that muppet panned out

11.) 09 Jan 2017 09:46:51
Cee how you can say dodoo has been pish, for a start he hasn't had the same chance as garner, another thing warburton keeps playing him on the wing, look at the diff when he was through the middle at Partick, he scored 2 and won us the game, just give the boy a game in his right position, then judge him

12.) 09 Jan 2017 10:04:02
sitting second and these players are championship quality at best? gor seriously mate what a load of nonsense.
other than celtic we have the best quality in the league son all this downing your/ my team is just ridiculous and doesn't help anyone

13.) 09 Jan 2017 10:27:34
Garner has been a poor signing £1.8m for a non scoring striker. It was folly to waste practically all our money on a player who doesn't score much and will have no sell on value

14.) 09 Jan 2017 10:42:33
Technique and guile how anyone can put these words and Dodoo together is beyond me. The boy is Brutal and no where near good enough for the first team.

15.) 09 Jan 2017 13:29:38
I agree dodo doesn't seem to have it for me, too lightweight and he says he prefers to play on the right wing so

31 Dec 2016 13:41:09
I stand by my initial assessment, except I would like to add a word to it, utter gash is what it is. Lucky it's not 1-4 and I'm posting this 15 mins into second half.

Pieandbovril

1.) 31 Dec 2016 13:52:05
God love them, they held out for a further 5 mins!
I'm away to write an assignment.
I knew we were doomed when I saw our big game changer being brought on and then they responded with Roberts!

Was getting really fed up with turkey and turkey leftovers. Nice to be served up some good old mince tonight.

Haha, maybe he wants a challenge tonight and wasn't happy we were leading?

What a plum.

2.) 28 Dec 2016 20:49:24
Up to that point I thought we were playing well and controlling the game. Fear the worst for our next game!

3.) 28 Dec 2016 21:56:23
Shows again that we cannot convert chances and pay the price for. Should have scored 3 in the first half even with the sloppy goal gifted. Dodoo the only natural scorer not in the squad was a big mistake. Does not look good for Saturday, so let's have a go.

With all the moaning on here about our current midfield and we have a chance at a player like him and some of us are still saying no, I don't get it.
Just who is it you guys would like us to sign?

Not sure that really matters ray considering its not a German company. On a side note, have to say that it's in pretty poor taste these kind of songs are sung by any teams' fans. How about adopting the Icelandic chant if you want to inspire and motivate a team.

As much as I have respect for Dave and the way he came in and got rid of the old Board, he can't provide the level of investment Red Bull can (no pun intended).
If they are looking for a well known world wide brand in which to invest and use for advertising their own brand, then look no further. Just look at where yesterday's opposition were before RB got involved. Also wouldn't care what they called us or the stadium as we all know, it'll always be Ibrox and we'll always be Rangers.

If it's 40 million for demjelly legs then Tav must be worth 15 million.

Yes. There was as much chance of losing them under MW as there was with this guy. This team is arguably the worst I have ever witnessed in my 45 years of watching them.

Absolutely both red cards. If that's the type of contribution from MOH then hope he's not involved next week.

BR65. I didn't say I wasn't a fan of Dave's, all I said was he ain't going to take us to the next level. To do that we need serious investment, which is something Dave doesn't have I'm afraid. Red Bull however, does.
