87shendo started a discussion below that never really took off, I'm surprised because its quite an important topic. Who is our two CB's that start? let's face it by what we have seen already we have 4 cracking CB's. For me Katic has to start he dominates both boxes and is a clear goal threat. He has started this season the way he finished last, very strongly. The other position at the moment is goldson's but I think helander will have that shortly. Edmundson has done himself no harm either. Great problem to have. I know you like goldson coop but I'm sure you'll agree that katic has been superb. Thoughts? 👍.

I for one agree with that coldo. Katic first name down then it's up to the others to claim the remaining spot.

Coldo you're correct, all four centre halfs look good. I like big katic and he has been good and dominant in both boxes. But here comes the but. I think goldson has always been gerrard's no.1 choice up'till now.
The connor goldson at the beginning of last season and before his injury starts on the right centre half position for me. I truly think big helander will nail down the left side of the centre half position, but still think edmundson and katic will play games, ie. horses for courses. I do honestly think however, that the manager's centre half preferred pairing will be goldson and helander. Helander is left footed and brings more balance in there because of that. We all have and are entitled to our opinions and that's my honest opinion guys.

Helander hasn't been bought to warm the bench and of tbe other 3 my fav is Edmonson due to his distribution and comfort on the ball- i totally agree that not only will our defensive options be horses for courses but that will echo throughout the team- we all want 55 and will cheer whatever first 11 our manager chooses - i'm sure sure all of our individual opinions have the club at heart.

with also 3 at the back option or even edmundson pushed a little in front. anything possible this year with rotation the only clear answer I can see.

I think Gerrard will go with Goldson and Helander.
Now are you sitting down @coldo? I agree with you. I've always liked Katic for the attacking option he gives at corners.
But as someone else said we've 4 cracking CH's now. Edmundson as well can be relied on to do a turn when needed.
Until I see more of Helander my choice would be to stick with Goldson and Katic.
