Per SSN * Aberdeen announce press conference for 1pm today *.

1.) 07 Dec 2017 09:41:59
That means 2 things either del is staying put or he's off

2.) 07 Dec 2017 10:34:29
Or I could be there normal presser b4 game tomorrow night!

3.) 07 Dec 2017 10:34:57
They have a game tomorrow so think it could be normal pre game conference but will be intetesting to see who fronts it for the sheep.

4.) 07 Dec 2017 11:24:32
McInnes isn't taking it. U20 coach Sheerin is

5.) 07 Dec 2017 11:40:39
Check my banter post this morning. McInnes and Docherty are our new management team

6.) 08 Dec 2017 08:57:30
It’s because they are playing tomorrow night it’s the normal press conference for the game

20 Nov 2017 11:56:13
Per SSN at 1150am - Mcleish has not been contacted by Rangers regarding the current managers job - neither has McInnes - Rangers are beginning to consider a short list - for the job - but there is no increased urgency to appoint a new manager despite Saturdays defeat -

1.) 20 Nov 2017 12:24:32
Gio van bronckhurst

2.) 20 Nov 2017 12:24:36
Really hope it’s not McLeish. What a backwards step that would. I get he got Birmingham promotes and won league cup but he also got them relegated twice and has been sacked at every job since. Winning the league on Helicopter Sunday will forever be one of the best days ever but he was also very fortunate and he filled the team full of some of the biggest duds we ever had. For every Prso there was a Nieto, Maniero, Bernard, Ostenstad, Capucho etc

3.) 20 Nov 2017 13:52:20
Please be Gio!

4.) 20 Nov 2017 14:47:37
Mprent, you are knocking those lads but I honestly think every single one of them would walk into the current team haha.

5.) 20 Nov 2017 17:18:25
Mprent WHO do you want as manager?

6.) 20 Nov 2017 18:25:05
the board has to act fast we need a manager asap to get his style across and see if he can improve any of the current squad which may save us money in the summer it can be done because its happened with that lot i see no positives from giving it to someone for rest of the season

7.) 20 Nov 2017 19:04:49
In an ideal world I would like Gio but even if that were possible I have my doubts if he could manage with no budget. I would also take De Boer, Bilic, Allardyce, McInnes, O’Neil or the Tea lady before McLeish I take it you’re one of those fans who can’t see beyond the last Blueberry? Romanticising what McLeish done and forgetting how bad he was the rest of the time.

8.) 20 Nov 2017 19:08:34
What about Eggan, Jeffers, Namouchi, Mladenovic, that Italian striker that never played (can’t remember his name), Vanoli. They get a game lol?

9.) 20 Nov 2017 19:28:06
Who signed Frank De Boer

10.) 20 Nov 2017 19:54:36
So you’re ignoring all his poor signings because he signed frank de Boer for half a season where as great a player he was, he helped us win nothing? In fact did he not even miss the deciding penalty that put us out the cup? Not knocking De Boer but some people seem help bent on romanticising McLeish. He won 2 titles in 6 years. That’s not good enough.

11.) 20 Nov 2017 20:01:07
Bonnisell, Ben Stevens, Emerson, Muscat, Kalenga, Fetei, Carcary, Djordic, Fan Fan, Rae, Maniero, N’Guessien. He signed all them. Granted he got Prso, Novo. Andrews, De Boer (6months), Boumsong (6months) but do we seriously want to take a step back and take a guy who’s last job was in Egypt and he got sacked after a few months?

12.) 20 Nov 2017 20:01:57

13.) 20 Nov 2017 20:21:34
I'd be surprised if anyone is announced as manager before the AGM. The Board need Resolution 11 to be passed so that external investment can be injected. If the rumours about serious investment from North America are true then it's likely that such investors would want a say in who gets appointed. If R11 doesn't pass then maybe the Board will lose their appetite to invest further.

14.) 21 Nov 2017 14:57:47
McLeish did sign some proper duffers but he didn't have anything like the budget advocatt had. Think he won 6 trophies but apparently that's not good enough now. I am not a huge fanboy of McLeish, just don't like the bashing he was getting. He beat O'Neill's Celtic on many occasions, how far away are we from doing that now? If money was no object I'd go for de Boer.

15.) 22 Nov 2017 06:28:55
Well might as well just get mccoist back as according to everyone on here we've no had a decent manager since watty. Guess what we never will again. Souness, smith, advocaat. The last real winners at ibrox then. Mcleish signed some duds but he still had a team that pkayed for the badge and coukd get a decent winning run together.

16.) 22 Nov 2017 12:34:17
Thing is you can make facts suit any argument Blueberry. Yes McLeish won 6 trophies but he won 5 of them in his first year and a half. So by my count that means he won 1 in 4 years. Also he won the title the year Celtic got to Seville because they got to Seville. Head to head that year they had beat us more than we beat them. Think we got one win against them that year. McLeish had his time and we will be forever grateful for what he delivered but overall he’s a terrible manager and that has been proven at every club he’s been at. Even clubs where he’s had success his failures at those clubs far outweigh his success. How can we move forward when we keep looking back? Ye he didn’t have he budget of Advocaat but he also had a far better budget than we have now and wasted most of it

24 Mar 2017 11:58:19
King states he will invest more money in the club but as to how much is up to the manager - DOF appointment not imminent - as per Talksport interview with Jim white

1.) 25 Mar 2017 00:24:43
so if Pedro wants 20m that's what he will get afcw

2.) 25 Mar 2017 06:37:40
for arguments sake let's take what you're saying as true smodge rather than hyperbolised rubbish, would he have signed if he didn't have gaurentees over a budget he felt was appropriate?

3.) 25 Mar 2017 13:07:32
Smudge re-read my post about what Dave King told Jim White live on Talksport yesterday then re-read your post - make up your own mind.

4.) 26 Mar 2017 13:08:35
How much? My guess is King will provide £6 million with the money raised from any departures to be reinvested so wages from Sendaros, Hyndman, Toral to be used for 3 loans or free transfers!

Would sell Waghorn for anything over 700k and a big if over McKay only for a decent fee. would like to keep him but if we were offered good money we could attain at least 2 good prospects or 1 proved playmaker.

McKay could go on to be a top top player but its all a gamble that includes the buying team though a team in PL or even Championship would see 5-6 or even 7m as a gamble they could afford to lose but that kind of money even 5m would have to be thought about but could turn into a 10-15m player easily but again hindsight eh.

02 Dec 2016 06:36:33
Rangers are weighing up a January loan move for Porto's Portuguese playmaker Joao Teixeira. source The Daily Pail. Ex Liverpool and Brentford 23yr old.

1.) 02 Dec 2016 08:17:26
So this the so called big name we are after?

{Ed001's Note - he is a quality player, he just missed a few seasons with a bad back problem which held him back and meant he missed his chance with Liverpool. On the ball he is class though.}

2.) 02 Dec 2016 17:59:44
So is kranjckar and whereas he!

3.) 02 Dec 2016 18:28:39
@geomac - Eh? He's injured for the rest of the season.

4.) 02 Dec 2016 19:09:24
Another McParland boy who didn't quite fulfill his original potential. The world of football is full of them, and so is Ibrox. I know scouts who have made careers out of tracking these players from a young age, waiting until their frailties emerge (injury prone, chicken hearted, a wee substance or drink problem, lack of energy, poor learner, bigheaded, the list goes on) and get them released from the big clubs then the scouts move in and place them with lesser clubs. For about half a season or more they look the part the lower level before their drawbacks resurface. Even in Scotland clubs had (have) scouts who operated like this with the not-quite-top-drawer legions of players.

5.) 03 Dec 2016 03:07:00

6.) 03 Dec 2016 12:34:44
Nobody said we were looking at any big names. Of course we aren't going to get anyone top drawer. A top drawer player would be worth more than our club.

7.) 03 Dec 2016 14:10:46
The attacking midfielder warbs is trying to sign on loan is jota who's currently on loan at eibar in spain from brentford.

8.) 04 Dec 2016 12:27:36
Now we're linked with another Portuguese attacking midfielder this morning. He's 30 year old ruben micael who now plays in the chinese super league and used to play for porto, atletico madrid and braga!

19 Sep 2016 11:17:02
Barton has been suspended by Rangers for 3 weeks and told to stay away from club.

1.) 19 Sep 2016 11:26:46
Its an absolute shambles mate, I am sick of it. We are never out of the headlines for one reason or another!

2.) 19 Sep 2016 11:27:07
At least Rossiter and Crooks will get more game time now!

3.) 19 Sep 2016 13:04:32
It's a shambles should have already been dealt with will be 4 weeks without game time for a guy already not up to speed and struggling for match fitness deal with it one way or the other and move on this helps no one another indication to me that the boss has no clue.

4.) 19 Sep 2016 13:10:24
That is the way disciplinary actions work. They now have time to reflect on what happened, at which time, a date for a new meeting will take place. I don't understand why you think MW has no clue, as correct procedures have to be in place.

5.) 19 Sep 2016 13:37:16
But who does a 3 week suspension help? Would Walter Smith have done it no it would have been dealt with there and then this stuff happens at all levels of football deal with it move on were now paying our top earner to sit at home and fall further behind on fitness, have u saw the shambles were in that's why I think he has no clue some of his decisions are baffling, guess not to you tho?

6.) 19 Sep 2016 14:03:30
Can someone explain the benefit to anyone a 3 week suspension serves? Absolutely pointless.

7.) 19 Sep 2016 15:10:35
Lads, Clearly we do not know the full picture. We will not get to know the full picture in the near future either, no doubt Barton will come out at a later date.

I think the 3 week period giving time to think about what happened is just a guise until Rangers assess their position.

I think you could see that the style and flair was back from the players on Sat and I think that was a kickback from having no Barton. Yes we failed to score but we created and defended well at times. Let this one just play out, back the team and in my opinion no Barton will mean a full time return to free flowing football. Nothing against the guy but he did slow down everything we done.

8.) 19 Sep 2016 15:11:27
As far as I'm concerned this is shambolic! Barton shouldn't have been suspended at all! Smacks of Barton be in made a scapegoat for the teams shortfallings! Terrible management.

9.) 19 Sep 2016 15:24:25
Guys joey burtons rangers career ended the day of the incident when he undermined everyone and behaved like a couple fool he will never wear a rangers shirt again good riddance I say.

10.) 19 Sep 2016 16:20:50
Barton had to be suspended. If I shouted and swore at my manager or boss then I would be sent home from work until a disciplinary was arranged. He then gave an unsactioned radio interview where he publicly stated that he didn't agree with the way the Club had dealt with the situation. And this was before the club had had time to deal with his misdemenour internally. Just because he has a few million Twitter and Facebook followers doesn't give him the right to act as he sees fit. He is not bigger than the Club, they pay his wages, he is an employee and needs to act as such. As far as I can see from what has been reported he looks guilty of gross misconduct, which under normal circumstances would be a sackable offence.

11.) 19 Sep 2016 15:41:52
No man is bigger than the club and this is exactly the point MW and Rangers are trying to make.

12.) 19 Sep 2016 16:31:25
this has nothing to do with the club barton caused the problem the club can only respond to the situation that barton has caused its not a big enough oence to rip up his contract but hopeully owing to the length o the ban someone may come in or him and he can released by mutual agreement that's my take on it.

13.) 19 Sep 2016 17:36:42
barton will never play for us again let him stew til january and get a fee for him no matter the baggage that comes with him someone will take him, whole episode has bn handled poorly the fact we have someone in the ranks leaking these things to the press is just as worryin as bartons behaviour.

14.) 19 Sep 2016 18:03:21
3 weeks allows Rangers to follow proper Employment Law. Any further misdemeanors in that period will escalate this to a final warning and he will be sacked without a substantial settlement. MW andRangers are simply protecting themselves and this is the right thing to do. The matter has actually been handled well. We can ill afford substantial settlement cases.

15.) 19 Sep 2016 18:36:05
Barry Ferguson and Allan McGregor got a 2 week suspension when Walter Smith was the manager so it's not unheard off. He obviously doesn't accept any wrong doing so we should firstly try and come to some sort of settlement to his contract and if not then just pay up the rest of his contract like we were going to pay him anyway and you've got rid off him. Obviously a bad influence to have about the place.

16.) 19 Sep 2016 19:08:54
Barton done the same thing to Alan shearar in 2009, very similar circumstances, think he's trying to get some publicly to sell his book? I couldn't stand the guy before he came to ibrox, gave him a chance and he's blown it, good riddance all I am saying.

Any chance Thanks oll Ed? Who would Rangers fans prefer to be in charge on 30 Dec for Old Firm game?
A- Murty
B- McInnes
C- Other

Welcome back to Rangers - Neil McCann!

01 Dec 2017 23:41:45
Is it to son for Ross Jack to be considered for the managers job? Turned Alloa into a promotion winning side then saved St Mirren from relegation last season and has them in pole position in the Championship just now - Remember Dundee wanted him last season - He can obviously improve teams - so could he be worth a 2-3 yr investment with say experieneed backroom staff? Thoughts?

1.) 02 Dec 2017 08:18:25
Are you for real mate, that would be a shocking choice that would end in disaster pretty quick in my opinion

2.) 02 Dec 2017 14:33:18
I'm just putting up an option against McInnes - looking to the future- Anyone but McInnes for me - Murty should be before McInnes - we are all entitled to our opinions -

06 Nov 2017 10:44:00
Listening to toksport just now and Jim White saying Moyes could be taking the West Ham job this afternoon. - Job is until the end of the season - Not a lot of Wham callers sounding to happy with this news

1.) 06 Nov 2017 13:51:02
thats because he like mclaren is a total dud and can make a team better

Latest gossip is Holt plus cash to Hearts in exchange for Walker

1.) 31 Aug 2017 15:35:42
I'd be happy enough with that providing the cash offer isn't much more than £250k. Holt is a decent wee player but just not quite good enough

2.) 31 Aug 2017 16:45:44
Just do the deal. A decent one I concede. We need Walker this season and with him starting instead of Miller, we're far more likely to threaten Celtic. Time's of the essence and it'll cost us more if we wait. If it includes Holt, so be it.

Serious question - If Minces is appointed manager - does the beard have to go? Do the club still maintain a clean shaven image for the manager? Remember what happened to John Greig?
