I see this Colak situation has popped up again, if he can't play the way our manager wants all our front players playing he needs to be sold, he doesn't make enough movement for our manager and would be crazy not selling him and buy a cf that can play Beales systems, playing a man that touches the ball about tens is a no from me.

If he doesn't fit the system he wants to play it doesn't matter about having similar or better. Square pegs do not fit into round holes. I've no doubt Colak could get us goals from the bench next season but he's too old to change his game and he's too old to be sat rotting on our bench. He'll hopefully get a move to Blackburn.

If Colak scored 50 odd goals a season a don’t think it would matter if he suited the system to be fair, Haaland doesn’t stop scoring and turned city from a league winning team to a treble winning team. We’ve won nothing with Colak.

One has a 29% scoring conversion in a tough league.
The other has a 18% scoring conversion in the SPFL.
One is more of a team player with 8 assists in a tough league.
The other has hardly any link up play in the SPFL with 1 assist.
But if Colak can assist the assister more I might just pick him instead???
There’s a time to cash in and the time is now for Colak especially with Beale having others in mind.

MPH the difference to what you're stating is that even when teams play city they don't play with a back 10. Haaland has much more space to operate in than any striker playing for us or the tims.

Plus you really can't compare Haaland and Colak.

Beale, will you give it a rest with the conference league campaign he had. When I say scoring I always refer to domestically and the boy hasn't done it for a good few years. Also he has played in leagues where it's far more open than what he's going to get in the SPFL. Plus his injury record worries me massively, we don't need a mate for Roofe in the physio room.

Beale what are you on about sakala? We haven't played a front 3 since we changed to 4312/ 41212 v celtic at ibrox. You said MB said he wants 3 9s? Well he doesn't want 3 9s just to play one 9. MB changed to our new style 4312/ 41212 early instead of pre season because he dropped Kent and el coo once it was confirmed we couldn't win anything. He kept the 433 when he came in after gio because that's what the players were used to. We are not after IF/ LW/ RW players to play a front 3 and we aren't going to play our strikers in CAM positions either. 41212/ 4312 Butland Tav Goldson? Misread your slant on Colak Todd - apologies.
Just feel its a lot of goals to give up from our team - when we can see that the guy does have an eye for goal
IMO - I don't think you can have enough goalscorers in your team.
He also made Kent and Morelos look second class for many months yet was not flavour of the month with management and some supporters too.

SWS - its plainly obvious that we need goals from all over the pitch - PS Colak had one more goal than Tavs so our non playing CF was actually clubs top scorer (with great deal fewer games played) !
For many years past however we could rely on our defence to keep us in games - the schoolboy errors and horrendous marking this season has crippled us along with not scoring for fun as the other mob did.

It was obvious at the end of last season when Beale himself said Morelos was prepared to play through the pain barrier whilst Colak nursed a broken finger nail, BoyBlue.
Some players will not take the field of play unless they are 100% fit. Again that’s their prerogative.
Others will take injections or play whilst not 100% to help the team out. Off the top of my head Lundstram, Morelos and Tav all done it. Again their prerogative.
No he doesn’t help his team mates out when he hardly touches the ball in some games, can’t link play or bring others into play. He becomes a man down. And it happened on a few occasions with Colak last season, BoyBlue. But you are entitled to your opinion. I just disagree with it. ?.

The statement was that a striker who only has 10 touches is a no, I asked the question of whether that applied to Haaland. I didn`t compare them for ability or even goals record I asked the question if that statement applied to him . If the person that posted the remark was a City fan would Haaland be no use for him? Earlier on the season pundits were regularly highlighting his lack of touches in games that he hadn`t scored. If you want a more relebvant comparison, Marco Negri was no great footballer, all he could do was score goals, nearly 30 goals before Christmas though . Would we take that from a striker at the moment?

Just a wee point on the playing with an injury stuff that has been interpreted by some on here as a criticism of Colak by Beale . Perhaps Morelos had a wee niggle that he could play through where Colak had a calf muscle injury that he couldn`t. Beale said that Morelos was the only one of the three who could play so he was also including Roofe. Has anyone in the know ever said that Colak calls off with every niggle or is it just the usual, someone talking nonsense and other taking it as the truth.

Colak is avg. avg! He has virtually no movement and when he tries he fails. His first touch often is poor and he plays with his head down too often.

By all accounts a good lad, looks a positive character and possibly good to have around dressing room, but he’s not good enough for me.
