Was told that Koppen spent a considerable amount of time at the transfer summit looking to outline deals for a handful of Central/ South Americans.

Galdames and Garcia are 2 that have been discussed publicly. However, one that will be emerging in the coming days is Necaxa winger Heriberto Jurado.

He is a Mexican youth international who broke through as a top prospect and has settled well in the 1st team, with both Club America and Monterrey being interested, but he wants a move to Europe.

Granada and Burnley are also said to be keeping tabs on him, but Rangers are apparently favourites to sign him.

Deal appears to be worth around £2.7m.

WeAreReady said Rangers weren’t preferred to do certain business “because of Cifuentes”. He did not specify if that was refusing to sign people from Columbia, those playing in the USA, South Americans, or just paying a fee from guys outside of Europe. It would be good if he could clarify his earlier remarks.

What exactly won't Rangers be doing moving forward because of Cifuentes? That is a question to WeAreReady.

If Rangers didn't do business from certain markets due to 1 or 2 not working out we would never sign anyone. Cifuentes i feel didn't get a proper run, partly due to injury. While others who were churning out poor performances and making mistakes regularly got selected no matter what.

it looks like we are and will explore these markets, look at the players we are being linked with

we should have been exploring these markets years ago, can get decent young players for good prices with potential to sell them on and make money, makes sense.

I don’t think Cifuentes settled in Glasgow. He moved from LA to Glasgow, and probably got a hell of a culture shock in the process.

Dick Advocaat said back in the day, we will always struggle to pull players to Scotland. Nothing has changed since then except we have gotten worse as a nation and are now being heavily outspent by other countries.

I will always remember watching Beale line up with Cifuentes wide right - genuinely felt for the player.

Was Pedro style madness from Beale.

Spot on Dado, Cifu was treated very poorly by us, and barely got a chance to settle in, other players had entire seasons playing average games, before they came good, players injured for most of the season got bigger chances than Cifu, no doubt the lads confidence has taken a hefty dent, tossed away like that after his big move to Europe, to sit on a bench in a country he had no intention to play in, when he could have stayed in the MLS, we tempted him away then chucked him away far too soon.
Not to mention we paid roughly 12 mill under his value at the time.

Generic, why do you feel the need to constantly highlight other posters comments and push for them to clarify their comments?

they meant what they said at the time, not everyone understands everyone's posts all of the time, no big deal.

GRF - you are VASTLY misquoting me. I did not say we were not pursuing South Americans as many others pointed out to you from my comment. I said we would not be paying García’s 10 million USD release clause as he is an unproven player and the BOARD have stated that. We signed Cortes didn’t we? He’s Colombian. Any business with we’ve fees involved we cannot afford to pay upfront, hence why it’s loans with obligations or structured payments.
