I’ve never got the firth signing. Seems like a Sunday league Keeper.

I think it’s hilarious he never plays or even gets a place on the bench but is always at the heart of all of our victory celebrations. He must have some patter.

Firth came in to help coach and in case of emergency. On a very low wage. No brainer but his time up now. He absolutely loves the club tho no doubt about that.

Btw my post above was no criticism of Andy firth. I actually think his celebrations are magic 👍🏻.

Herewego, agreed. I am sick saying this on here, for every game we need three keepers. If No1 or No2 drops out Firth then goes on the bench. He knew that and he knew he'd never really play, but came here to learn more of his trade as a coach and as cover. We pay him a wage commensurate with his position. The Fickle Loyal slagging him have probably never seen him play, all they do see is another chance to have childish digs at another loyal Ranger.

Firth was a bizarre signing tbh, he did coaching badges then some emergency coaching as a stop gap at Anfield for some kids but far as I know he doesn't do any at Ibrox?

Just plays video games most of the time.

Sure he's a lovely bloke but not sure he has a role to play at the club.

Rfcrb he coaches players at under 16 and under

He is on training pitch every day with McGregor McLaughlin Mccrorie.

Don’t get why we have to pretend he’s a good keeper just because he’s our player. He’s not a good keeper and it’s a strange signing. Get we need 3 keepers but surely the younger keepers we have are good enough to sit on the bench instead of firth.

{Ed001's Note - having an experienced 3rd keeper is usually done because the younger keepers need to play games, rather than having to be kept safe in case of a knock to the first or second choice.}

Ed exactly, but many on here don’t grasp the basics.
Gerrard said signing Firth was to allow Mccrorie to go out on loan to play games. 1.5 k a week allowed this to happen, plus Firth coach academy kids.
Good deal all round.

Bluemark, that's the whole point, we can't have our young keepers sitting on their backsides! They have to be playing somewhere, somehow, and they can't do that from the dugout. That's why proper clubs have a third keeper who would only play in the most dire emergency.

Listen I’m not slagging the guy off. From what I’ve seen he doesn’t look a good keeper even for a third choice and ED you say he’s an experienced keeper but stats I’ve seen says he has 30 first team appearances his entire career playing for Chester, barrow and 1 appearance for rangers. Not experienced in my book. Agree we should have an experienced third choice but I don’t see why people getting so upset by saying Firth isn’t good enough for rangers even as third choice.

{Ed001's Note - I didn't say he was experienced, I said that's why teams have an experienced 3rd choice on the books. I have no idea about Firth.}

And I do get that young keepers need game time despite the passive aggressive comments. i'm not talking about McCrorie sitting on bench I’m taking about the keeper for the B team. He’s not out on loan and he’s not good enough to sit on bench in an emergency?

I just don’t get why we all have to sing from same hymn sheet. I’m supposed to believe that he’s loyal to rangers just because of the club. I’m a teacher at the top end of my pay scale and he gets 2 1/ 2 times my weekly wage. I’d be loyal for that wage too.

Blue mark do u know what goalkeepers on loan, do u know why some don’t go on loan.

Yes John I am aware. Just because you have someone in ibrox dropping you tid bits of information doesn’t mean you know more about football. All I’ve ever said was Firth is a strange signing. He’s not a good keeper, he’s not experienced and especially now with McGregor, Mcglaughlin and McCrorie he’s not needed. There has to be a better option than Firth that’s all I’m saying.

Funny I never knew just getting paid by rangers makes you a loyal ranger 🤨 he's getting paid get a grip people who label anyone that's worked at the club a loyal ranger childish.

Just because someone has played football at a pro level doesn't mean the are smarter when it comes to football than some fans some pros are smarter some fans are smarter. There was a reason Walter used to sit in the stand. Because it's the best position to see who is doing Thier job and who's not very hard to tell that pitch side or on the pitch.
