Just read that a source close to the board are sympathetic to GVB over footing the bill for 55 as they over spent to stop the 10 and the injury list will be another saving factor for gio.

None of this is my sources just passing on what I've read. Also read that Gio has had no indication there will be talks over his position and that he fully expects to take training at auchenhowie in 2 weeks time.

I won’t hear the excuse about injuries. We have a superior budget over teams we have dropped points to and should be beating. They shouldn’t be able to compete with us (Gio’s words) . if current form continues and he is still in post it will regress the team further and it’s an opportunity missed.

All true Ayrshire, sanity prevailing.

As bankie said I think for now sanity has prevailed, but this is a results business especially at a club like ours, and injuries or not we should still be able to field a team capable of winning matches. We let a runaway Celtic overtake us last season and despite the Europa league final and winning a much eluded Scottish cup, then making the champs league we seem to have stalled instead of progressing further. I have never been of the gio out crowd however performances and results must improve straight aftwr the world cup otherwise it is going to be a long frustrating second half of the season for us supporters.

Rangers season is already over. Europe is gone, and so is the league. From now, and until the end of the season, it’s about turning over the squad in January and GVB needs to improve domestic performances dramatically. The gap is already big, imagine how hostile things will get if it goes to double figures or we get pumped off Celtic 4-0 again. The fans will boycott and things will turn ugly. The board have a duty to stop it getting to that point.

It’ll be a dramatic turnaround, or a quick exit for GVB, after this World Cup.

Don't disagree Verdant. There must be immediate improvement or we can kiss our chances of at least claiming the domestic cups goodbye.

Love your optimism bankie . For me we've missed the perfect opportunity to salvage something from our season by replacing Gio with someone that could get these players performing again . Too many either out of form or not wanting to be here . It's just delaying the inevitable. I know the board have not backed him but I just can't see him turning things round.

100% agree denger 72, we need change gio just isn't cutting it, no fight, no desire, no urgency, formation and subs are so predictable and strikers are far too isolated.

Let's face it if gio were to be sacked what kinda position is this to leave a new manager in with huge expectation and a deficit some would still see it as his loss let gio continue if it goes even more pear shaped can't say we didn't give him a fair chance to turn around and I can't see this board wanting to spend big in January anyway so keeping gio in place for them makes total sense.
