And on the issue of new players, Kenny Miller or Jason Cummings could fill the gap for the rest of the season with injury to Defoe and probably more suspensions for Morelos! Looks like Shankland is staying at the Arabs.

A few months ago I’d have said you were nuts, but kenny miller could be a shout. Next to no wages I’d imagine and he’d be an absolute last resort to use, but still ok (maybe? ) Whatever has happened in the past will no doubt mean it’s not going to happen however. I’m not saying he’s the answer, but for the very short term he’s better than nobody.

As much of a laughingstock as having one fit senior striker? I think not. There is one day left to get someone in. Our need was there before Defoe got injured. Now it’s critical. I also hope we have a better plan in place.

Miller was good enough for Rangers and Celtic once, though I guess his age and the history at Ibrox when he left would count against it happening.

We are definitely a striker short but doesn't mean we sign just anyone. Miller just left bloomin Partick! If that's the case and "get anyone in" is the tactic then do we just sign some random from Raith? Queen of the south? Berwick? Its the same thing.

How's it the same thing Snell? Bring someone in for free for an extremely limited time to cover a position that we badly need 2 of before tomorrow. As I've said, hopefully we can find better but my whole point was based on the fact we don't have much time to sign someone, and I can see that being the outcome. He's better than the current option of absolutely nobody. Certainly seems to be nobody coming through who is in first team plans. I reiterate. I hope for better.
