Was reading that earlier also wondering how someone managed to write that and then get it to 'print'.

It's incredible someone wouldn't check their facts before writing it and someone wouldn't check that before allowing it to go to 'print'.

Is it stupidity, laziness or an honest mistake? Combination of the first two is my guess.

It's actually the subs (sub-editors) who are meant to pick up on things like that. Honestly, some journalists spelling, diction and punctuation is a joke and this is why the subs check over written content before going live or to print.

Patterson -Â£1m (still to prove self) Seems fair
Goldson - Â£10-12m - Â£15m minimum
Helander- Â£5m - Would be looking for more than this, Â£8m
Balogun- Â£5m (but not under long contract) Seems fair
Edmundson - Â£1m. Worth more but will go for peanuts in January
Katic- Â£5m (when fit) If he comes back the same he is worth more
Barasic - Â£20m (perhaps Â£25m after euros), need to ask more than this - start the bidding at Â£25m, same as Tierney
Bassey - Â£2m (still to prove self) - Worth more than this, especially in the English market, Â£5m minimum at the moment
Davo - Â£0 (too old will retire here) Agreed
Kamara -Â£20-25m (best mf in country) Probably about right
Jack - Â£15m - Seems fair
Arfield- Â£2m - About right, but he will retire from Rangers

Roofe- Â£5-6m (so far I think is fair) - Probably about right
Itten- Â£2m (jury's out) - I think this lad has real quality, but doesn't suit our system. Probably be moved on at the end of the season and the price seems right
Defoe- Â£0 (will retire here) Agreed
Alfredo- Â£15-20m (depends on form/ discipline) . I reckon we will regret declining the Â£16m offer. Price quoted seems about right.

You're correct to a certain extent, BMHG01. However, sub-editing is a dying trade and subs are being dumped all through the industry. Many 'articles' like the one above are now processed 'straight to page' after a quick eyeball from the desk editor. The checks and balances, especially on social media pages, are almost a thing of the past.
