Chris Jack at the Evening Times saying we've made a move for John Soutter. I'm no fan of MSM hacks, but he has his contacts at Ibrox, so this one is probably a goer. Free transfer, so very little risk on a solid defender. As long as he stays injury free, that is (the hard part)!
1.) 06 Jan 2022 07:10:33
I’d be a little concerned with his injury history if I’ve honest. We’re paying a lot of cash on injured players just now some of which we knew they’re injury history (Roofe and Helander) . I know there’s no transfer fee however, if Blackburn, Stoke etc…. Are trying to sign him as well then his salary expectations would probably be in the region on £20k - £25k (based on championship level) . I think the money would be better spent, just my opinion though.
2.) 06 Jan 2022 07:13:31
Would be happy with soutter . Have a feeling he will head south for the £. Hope not. He will play in Europe each year with us so that may get it over the line . 🤞.
3.) 06 Jan 2022 08:46:17
We have certainly scouted him and his brother plenty.
4.) 06 Jan 2022 09:30:39
Good Scottish player when fit but like dado I feel championship maybe offer him more money.
5.) 06 Jan 2022 09:35:23
A good player and would be a good addition but its a massive gamble with him being out twice with ACL injuries. Would i take the risk? Yes Absolutely its only money and if it goes pear shaped then who cares because we are used to signing injury prone players anyway.
6.) 06 Jan 2022 09:51:12
I'm on the fence with this one.
7.) 06 Jan 2022 11:28:40
Yep I’m with u AS.
Can’t see us needing both doehki and John Souter.
8.) 06 Jan 2022 11:50:20
Get him signed, big Soapy could be a decent signing and young enough to get a decent sell on.
9.) 06 Jan 2022 11:52:50
We agree John. Something is wrong lol. I think the boys a good player but is he better than what we have? Mmm not so sure.
10.) 06 Jan 2022 11:56:30
Do we need more Scottish players in the squad for European cover? I can never figure out what the limitations are. Signing a player like Souter may provide cover for those games, but I'm wondering if he is good enough for that cover.
11.) 06 Jan 2022 12:01:08
The good thing re Souter is he would be a home association player for Europe given his time at Dundee Utd.
I’ve said b4 we should have four best home association players at ibrox even if only squad players.
I’d like to see Jack, although have my doubts
Mb Arfield for another year
Souter
Wright.
Other possibilities IMO are Doig Mckenzie Zander Clark,
12.) 06 Jan 2022 12:05:00
oops - -we better shell out on extending the treatment room.
i'd hoped we might have stopped going for players with a past history of injuries - - will we never learn.
13.) 06 Jan 2022 12:10:20
Souter is favoured for European registration restrictions.
Dhoeki is also favoured as Goldson is prob off and Balagun is short term. So both would be required. Katic will be sold to generate cash. Rumours are that has been agreed already.
That’s what I’m hearing right wrong or indifferent.
14.) 06 Jan 2022 12:21:16
Doekhi over Souttar for me all day long.
15.) 06 Jan 2022 15:01:24
If souttar does go south I think it will definitely be Stoke so he can lineup alongside his brother easy bedding in when his brother already there.
16.) 06 Jan 2022 15:03:12
Who cares on euro cover all that happens is you get a smaller bench to choose from the season over all is more important that a bench spot.
17.) 06 Jan 2022 15:18:51
Go for Stoke pulled out signing Souter due to wage and agent fees.
18.) 06 Jan 2022 15:20:18
Go for why not care re Europe, would u be satisfied with squad of 17 instead off 25.
Couple injuries and suspensions leaves u well short.
Strange view.
19.) 06 Jan 2022 15:33:59
Not acl, ruptured achilles x2 is it not?
20.) 06 Jan 2022 17:14:19
Poor injury record, also I'm not sure if john soutar is good enough for us, but we certainly need one if not two ch this window, would rather have doekhi than soutar.
21.) 06 Jan 2022 18:58:17
At the moment we are short of defensive cover especially at CB with Balogun and Helander out injured.
Katic is out on loan and unlikely to be recalled during the current transfer window, and Simpson has yet to feature under GVB.
The talk at the moment is Souttar and Doekhi but we need to bring in a CB now not on a pre contract.
22.) 06 Jan 2022 20:31:55
The squad for Europe would be 21 instead of 25 which has already been ruled on 21 is minimum they can make your squad.
23.) 06 Jan 2022 20:43:54
Mccrorie McGregor king will be our developed players. jack arfield Wright can be our association players which only leaves us short 2 making a squad of 23 assuming arfield goes and Jack retires means 21 as I said. It's the club grown players that's the problem this is why we are investing heavily on youth domestic players from other Scottish teams only account for 4 players and they don't even need to be Scottish just educated in football in scotland.
22 Dec 2021 22:22:29
I'm hearing that there's been a request from a, so far, unnamed club to bring the winter shutdown forward to yesterday. Has anyone heard which club it is that have written to the SPL demanding this be actioned straight away?
1.) 22 Dec 2021 23:08:15
If it was to be actioned straight away then it couldn't be Dundee. Give us a clue🤔.

Has anyone seen the advert for hospitality outwith Ibrox for the Red star game? Is this a wind up? £185 plus vat for hospitality at the Raddison Red, bus to Ibrox then seat in the Sandy Jardine stand. And to top it off, no transport back to the hotel. What? How is this Rangers hospitality? Surely the idea of hospitality is to have it at the stadium? What next?!
Cue the self righteous telling us nobody is forcing us to pay it. This, alongside a few other balls ups, is pathetic and embarrassing. Please tell me it's not true?!
1.) 09 Mar 2022 12:29:19
Aye its nonsense. A beer in city centre subway out and another pint after the game before the train fae Central back down the road. I'll chuck in a supper fae the lagoon if anyone fancies a cheaper alternative. Accept all major cards PayPal or cold hard cash.
2.) 09 Mar 2022 12:34:26
BMG, we do this regularly when ibrox is sold out
How is it embarrassing, been doing it for over 20 years a great day out .
Oh and u don’t need to buy it.
3.) 09 Mar 2022 13:01:09
It is also sold out so it can't be that bad. Great value if you can drink around 200 quids worth of beer and wine in 2 hours.
4.) 09 Mar 2022 13:02:39
Don't worry, I won't. 🤣
The Rangers marketing team could release a dod of jimmy white and stick a Rangers badge on it, and there would still be some fans creaming themselves over it! 🤣🙈.
5.) 09 Mar 2022 13:15:56
BMG have u ever purchased one off these days to see what it’s like.
Most deals away from ibrox are poor as they don’t include spirits or drinks after game.
6.) 09 Mar 2022 13:43:39
John, If I want to purchase Ibrox hospitality, I want it to be in the stadium in one of the suites. Every time I have done hospitality, it's always been there. The thought of it outside the stadium does nothing for me, I'm afraid. It just sounds like an expensive p. up in an overhyped hotel. Sorry John, but it does.
7.) 09 Mar 2022 14:02:14
Cool, BMG. It’s supply and demand. Your entitled to your opinion.
I’m fortunate that for all games I’m in club Europe, have attended hampden boxes on a few occasions, also ibrox b4 and after certain games and Parkhead.
Apparently raddison red is now sold out.
8.) 09 Mar 2022 14:09:33
As it’s always sold out I guess the consumer is willing to purchase so that said it’s down to the individuals who are willing to buy. Rangers have every right to sell this package. There are other packages that may be more suitable to people who don’t fancy that package.
9.) 09 Mar 2022 14:19:59
Demand for hospitality at these games will outstrip availability so it's great to see the club think out the box to maximize revenue.
And those that have taken it up don't obviously see anything wrong with it.
10.) 09 Mar 2022 14:21:49
Supply and demand guys, no one forces it on you. It’s the capitalist world, just wait until the outcry when plastic bags are 50p 😂.
11.) 09 Mar 2022 14:59:49
I really like it in Club Europe John, and for everything you need, it is the most cost effective. I've also done the rest, but for me the more formal ones are not my bag. Club Europe and Ibrox suite were my favourites, but Club Europe tops it for me for the atmosphere. I'm going to try and book it for my nephews 18th as a wee treat for him. And me too. For not much more than it costs for the Raddison, this is much better, and what I believe is real Rangers hospitality.
12.) 09 Mar 2022 16:49:30
It’s a great move by the club getting more money from something that’s sold out in stadium.
Fans just live to find something to moan about.
Why does it matter anyway BMGH if you are never going to purchase it?
13.) 09 Mar 2022 17:12:20
Club Europe is fantastic, we love it. I like Scott Simon lounge as well.
Not a great fan food in argyle suite, but have not been in there for a while.
Your nephee As you know will never forget his day there for his birthday.
14.) 09 Mar 2022 17:13:45
Storm in fairness BMG does attend corporate at ibrox, it’s all about opinions.
15.) 09 Mar 2022 17:26:15
The same way it would matter when someone describes our lilac strip as the worst one he's ever seen and ran it down, but he had no intention of ever purchasing it. Can you remember who that was? Do you see what I done there Einstein? 🤣🤣.
16.) 09 Mar 2022 18:14:56
A cool fact about Albert Einstein BMG is that the element number 99 on the periodic table called Einsteinium is named after Albert.
17.) 09 Mar 2022 18:23:52
Agreed John. I'm waiting for him to get back to me to tell me what games he would prefer to watch, so I can try to book one of them. Cheeky wee bugger! Back in my day you took what you got given, and were thankful for it. 🤣🤣.
18.) 09 Mar 2022 18:47:25
I don’t buy any strips as I don’t wear footballs strips as I said all you want to do is moan about something and there is no need for the childish/ snide remarks either ðŸ¤.
19.) 09 Mar 2022 19:26:32
That has to be your best one. Ever! Pot and kettle springs to mind there, KJ! Brilliant! 👠👠🤣🤣.
20.) 09 Mar 2022 19:38:48
haha i was just about to type that I've just witnessed a pot shouting at the kettle.
Thats a belter no need for the snide remarks especially coming from the king of snide.
21.) 09 Mar 2022 19:50:16
You need to wind your neck in at times stormtrooper, you really do!
You're a very divisive character and it is pot calling the kettle black with you a lot of times on here. Is it your time of the month 🤔.
22.) 09 Mar 2022 20:44:26
😂😂😂😂😂 Embarrassing from both of you coops and BMGH thanks for the laughs guys ðŸ¤.
23.) 09 Mar 2022 20:58:31
Oh dear! I think that could be your best one now! Bravo my man! 👠👠Beating your personal best within the space of 2 hours. You're on a roll, KJ. You da man. 🤣🤣.
05 Mar 2022 10:50:21
Best of luck and support to one of our own, Oleksiy Mykhaylychenko, as he takes up arms against Russian aggression in his Democratic homeland, and prepares to put his life on the line fighting the illegal invaders of his Country. Give them absolute Hell big Miko!
1.) 05 Mar 2022 12:03:32
Ahh that name brings back some memories! Stay safe big man and hopefully getting rid of the vermin out of your country.
2.) 05 Mar 2022 13:12:34
Great player for us and proud Ukrainian. Used to love seeing him on the left wing, great pace and technique.
04 Mar 2022 14:24:28
As a big cricket fan, I am in shock, and devestated at the death of the greatest ever bowler to play the great game. RIP Shane Warne, you were the reason I started getting into cricket, and you were my cricketing hero. 52 years of age is no age at all. An absolute legend of the game, and a giant personality.
1.) 04 Mar 2022 16:58:31
At 52 and in reasonable shape! It's a shock RIP.
2.) 04 Mar 2022 17:05:42
Sad news yes he was a cracking spin bowler and seemed like a good guy to go and get pished with too. Lucky bassa also getting a wee hurl at Liz Hurley.
3.) 04 Mar 2022 17:41:04
Yes BMGH01 only 52 years old and so heartbreaking ðŸ™God bless shane warne and all his family and friends ðŸ™.
4.) 04 Mar 2022 17:55:41
A fascinating man Shane Warne even though I am not into cricket at all… Lived his life to the full✌ï¸.
26 Feb 2022 23:04:19
I knew boxing was corrupt, but it's an absolute sham now. How Taylor won that fight, I will never know?! I'm finished with it. It's corrupt to the core, and to see that gangster in the ring celebrating with Taylor at the end, gave me the boak!
1.) 26 Feb 2022 23:21:51
Terrible decision to be fair. Totally agree.
2.) 26 Feb 2022 23:25:06
Am a big Taylor fan but he was well beat tonight!
3.) 26 Feb 2022 23:28:11
Got to agree, as much as I wanted Taylor to win I simply don't understand how he did that. Who's the gangster your referring about mate?
4.) 26 Feb 2022 23:28:14
Watched that fight and can’t believe that result. There must be an enquiry.
5.) 26 Feb 2022 23:41:03
Don't like Taylor too arrogant and a bad winner and now a bad loser plus a spoon burner.
6.) 27 Feb 2022 00:23:41
Was it Robert Kelbie in the ring with him after it?
7.) 27 Feb 2022 00:32:40
Robert Kelbie I think Baxterboy.
8.) 27 Feb 2022 01:00:41
Terrible decision.
9.) 27 Feb 2022 07:11:12
It was kelbie, guys! Boxing has long been associated with shady characters, but it's now riddled with them. You just need to look at our heavyweight champion, and who he's connected to. It's corrupt as fek, now controlled by, and run by, the dodgiest of people.
10.) 27 Feb 2022 08:00:45
Seriously can't believe that I actually turned it over soon as fight ended thinking Taylor got a lesson and was embarrassed for him jumping about with hands up like he won . That is 100% corrupt decision and surely be investigated overturned.
11.) 27 Feb 2022 08:50:33
Big Taylor fan but he was weight drained no way on this earth did he win that. It’s the biggest robbery in boxing I have ever seen in my life and I include the 1st fury and wilder fight in that (the draw)
I have lost all respect for him after that interview the only people who thought Josh won that is himself and people that haven’t a clue about boxing.
It wasn’t even close he got schooled.
Everton not getting a pen thru var against city was another robbery the night.
20 Feb 2022 11:00:20
A strong, and the correct starting line up. I don't care how we do it, just win!
09 Feb 2022 15:24:03
Roofe has talent, but he is often out injured, and unlike Jack, takes a bit of time getting back up to speed. The problem with that, is once he's up to speed, scoring goals, he gets injured again.
09 Feb 2022 08:38:28
I like big Goldson, and I really hope he does stay. If it is true (it is only a rumour), and he will only sign If he becomes the highest paid player at the club, then that is never going to happen! I also find it funny that he can ping a long range pass better than any other defender in Scotland, but struggles (sometimes) to pass the ball 5 yards in front of him. One thing that really impresses me about Goldson, is the way he communicates with young players on the park and is always offering up support and advice to them.
06 Feb 2022 13:18:51
I wasn't being serious Blue C. It was the thumbs up, and the C in your name that made me ask, but I know you're not. Coldo would never have a go at Kent! 🤣.
06 Feb 2022 10:14:35
Is Blue C coldo?
05 Feb 2022 17:57:25
Is that right Herewego55? I would have thought Katic would have been big enough to look after himself, and not take crap off of anyone! There is obviously a problem, and by all accounts, it's gotten worse over time.
I did hear a rumour about Borna, but like all rumours, I take things like this with a pinch of salt. Even If the rumour was to be true, I would hope it would have nothing to do with the fall out. And before anyone starts, I don't believe what I heard, and in no way am I saying there's any substance to this.
17 Mar 2022 12:19:47
European away games are usually a blast Bar72 and live long in the memory (the ones you're sober enough to remember), but this one was destined to be a nightmare. Our fans should have been dissuaded not to go. Whether they would have listened, I doubt it.
17 Mar 2022 11:43:00
I hope it gets cancelled. A pure sham, and should never go a head! Incoming! 🤣🤣.
17 Mar 2022 11:04:38
My mistake, Bankie on about Sydney tournament. I posted on wrong thread.
17 Mar 2022 09:52:40
It's an absolute disgrace, but what did anyone expect? Football fans should be able to travel the world in safety, but that's not how it works. If anyone who travelled there thought it would be a nice wee jolly, then they were wrong. The UK are arming a nation who are fighting the Serbs biggest ally, who the Red star fans quite obviously back, and our fans think it's a good idea to travel?! C'mon, this was always going to be dangerous. And If I'm being blunt, it was always going to be a bloody stupid idea to go over there.
13 Mar 2022 19:26:24
You've still not answered my question, John. How can you have a debate, far less win one (really 🤣🤣) If you don't answer questions put to you? Well? 🤣🙈.
