Ced Itten loan cancelled and immediately returning apparently. What’s everyone’s thoughts? I like this guy and think he may suit Gios style better. If it’s to replace JDF then a good shout surely. Some wages he’s picking up to purely be a presence at training.

I was just reading there that its looking likely that Defoe will be leaving us so if this is true then who knows big Itten might just get a lifeline and see what he can do under Gio.

I can see Itten fitting the shape Gio plays up front much better than before he went on loan.
Add that Roofe is quite injury prone and its a good move I think.
The team Itten was at would only be attacking for say 10% of a game in Germany at best as they are shocking so I can't see how the loan would work for him.

I think its more the club he was with has indicated that they don't plan to pay 3 million for him so Gio has took him back to have a look.

Agree sweep, cedric will get the rest of the season to show gvb what he can do, imo no point keeping him at that german club when they have no intention of buying him in the summer, other players have flourished under gvb mb cedric can do as well.

He’s a pen box player with limited movement, wingers playing wide will def help his style. My only worry is for a big lad he offers no physicality. I’d rather have taken the cash and re-invested it than him coming back. Hope he proves me wrong.

Give Itten a break. He was never given a chance under Gerrard. It wasn't that long ago people were slagging off Goldson and now all of a sudden he's flavour of the month! Itten is a Swiss International so can't be that bad.

And who is dropping out to give a limited forward time in the team? Morelos? He will be third choice at best when Roofe is fit.

Now that defoe is gone we need a fourth striker, wether itten is good enough time will tell.
